Wow--I honestly can't believe there are negative reviews here. I hadn't been to the dentist in a very long time and had some real issues to deal with, so I did a lot of research before choosing where to go. Aspen Dental in Royal Oak (13 & Woodward) came across as a true one‑stop shop, and I can confidently say I wasn't wrong. Throughout 2025, I had multiple visits here, and every single experience was great from start to finish. One thing that really stood out was the customer service--it's absolutely top‑notch. Everyone is incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. They take the time to explain exactly what I needed and why I needed it, which made a huge difference for someone who hadn't been in the dental chair in years. At no point did I feel pressured or upsold on anything unnecessary. Honestly, they probably could have and I would've believed them--but they didn't. That says a lot about their integrity and approach to patient care. Hands down, this place is amazing. On a lighter note, I spent so much time here in 2025 that I joked they should've been on my Christmas list--and here we are in 2026, and I'll be back for more work without hesitation. Highly, highly recommend. read more

This was one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences I've ever had. During my last three cleanings, I repeatedly complained about pain in the same tooth. Each time, my concerns were dismissed, and no one ordered any diagnostic testing until the pain became unbearable. When they finally decided to take X-rays, I paid for them, only to be told that no one at the office could determine whether the tooth was cracked. Instead of having someone qualified interpret the images, they referred me to another dental office the very next day, where I had to pay for a second set of X-rays. That dentist immediately confirmed the tooth was cracked. So within 48 hours, I paid for two sets of X-rays because Aspen Dental either couldn't or wouldn't diagnose the problem in-house. Had my concerns been taken seriously during any of my previous three visits, this likely could have been addressed much sooner and saved me unnecessary pain, time, expense, and most importantly my tooth. To make matters worse, after the outside dentist confirmed the diagnosis, I still had to return to Aspen Dental to have the tooth extracted. The entire process felt disorganized, inefficient, and negligent. I left feeling like my pain was ignored until it became impossible to dismiss, and I ended up paying the price for their inability to properly diagnose a cracked tooth. I would not recommend this office. read more

Arianna was amazing, she really made me feel comfortable during my appointment. This office was really clean and up to date.

I'm beyond irritated with this place. Should've been smarter to choose an office where there hours don't suck. I have major tooth sensitivity 2 months into having my fillings (That's not normal). It's Friday and I'm trying to schedule an appointment to get it looked at but there is no possible way to do that. Office is closed and website won't let me book an appointment bc I'm an existing patient??!!! Literally only gives me the option to call the office number to schedule. Oh wait, THEY'RE CLOSED!! So I have no way to book an appointment until Monday and my teeth hurt just from simply drinking water. I've never been to a place where you can't schedule an appointment through the website as an exiting patient. SO NONSENSICAL! A family owned business will probably take more pride in their work and maybe be more accommodating considering they have a lot more to lose than a chain with multiple safety nets. read more

Aspen Dental took great care of me. I came in for my annual cleaning and I felt very at home and welcomed.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I orginally received a consultation at the Livonia location. After my consultation at the Liviona location I received a recommendation to treat at the Royal Oak location becasue the dentist at the Royal Oak location was highly recommended. I called this location (Royal Oak) and the receptionist or the person who answered the phone lacked customer service skills and professionalism. I inquired about the process to retrieve my xrays from the Livonia location in addition to questions regarding my protected health information and her tone was hostile and unwelcoming. Apparently, she was having a bad day or didn't have her coffee. Professionalism is essential and determines who I choose to do business with. My experience with Aspen Livonia location wasn't terrible. The staff at the Aspen Livonia location were actually AWESOME. However, I the service/experience felt similar to an assembly line process and not authentic. It's a corporation. I'm sure the goal is profit above anything. I miss the days of family dentist practices with genuine familiar experience. read more

Asked to have x-rays sent to another provider. Was assured they were. They were not. Called again and said they were sent to corporate to be emailed. I called corporate and gave up after an hour of being on hold having to endure "due to high volume you may experience...." Poor communication. No regard for patient records that resulted in dental complications. Horrible experience. read more

Went to Aspen Dental today for Impressions for my new partial. Arianna did the impressions. She used great care in doing this, gentle and careful. She is courteous, professional, and kind. Doctor came in to double check and explain upcoming procedures. She has such a calming presence and takes a genuine interest in my situation. read more

I love the team at Aspen Dental, Royal Oak! I love the fantastic job that they are doing on my teeth to restore my smile and quite frankly, they're also helping me restore my self-esteem by doing so much to make me feel valued and cared for. With all of the sadness and chaos that the world has experienced over the last few years, some of us have been depressed, socially distanced and isolated. Our health and dental needs have been put on the back burner as we struggle to maintain life with some semblance of normalcy. Dr. Samaan, Hannah, Chelsea and Paul are not only great at what they do, they have calming loving fun spirits and are perfect people for the kind of work that they do. Hannah is excellent and very skilled as a dental hygienist. She is gentle and thorough. I literally felt no pain or discomfort during my teeth cleaning. Dr. Samaan carefully crafted fillings for my broken teeth and they look and feel better than ever. She is efficient and has a great beside manner. Sitting in her chair, I felt like I was visiting with a friend. Her love for what she does shines through. Chelsea is calming and respectful. Her calming demeanor helped me to calm my anxiety. Meeting with Paul, seemingly would be the last thing that anyone would want to do at a dental office. However, meeting with him is the highlight of the visit. He has a way to make you forget that you're even discussing hundreds or even thousands of dollars for dental work. (haha) I have nothing to add about the costs. One could be upset at the outrageous costs of medical and dental care, but that's on America. Parking is super convenient in the large strip mall lot. The location is surrounded by lots of stores and restaurants and easily accessed as it sits on the corner of 13 Mile and Woodward. This Aspen Dental team is so amazing that I'd like to quit my current job and go join them. read more

I had a cleaning & a small filling. Over $1000 out of pocket with insurance. They had me pay upfront before I was treated but they keep sending me a bill for the balance I already paid. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. Fist off, I had to put half of the proposed balance on my credit card to hold my appointment because the doctor won't allow an appointment without up front pay. What was I supposed to do when my daughter needed her wisdom teeth pulled immediately and not later. Second, I think if Blue Dental pays at 80% that we have to pay over 3,000 dollars insurance covered or not to have 2 damn wisdom teeth pulled. This, in my opinion is a total rip off. Then they charged me for 2 sedations that were not covered by Blue Dental. All of this is some bull and I will say this, now I see why people don't want to work because you get better deals on welfare (not having to pay nothing) verses working your whole life and dealing with insurance companies and rip off clinics like Aspen Dental! Totally disappointed client. read more

I didn't have any care I just had an exam. I thought I was going to get a cleaning. I used Aspen dental because they were in my network. It was more like a Sales technique. They wanted to sell me a deep cleaning which I would've done if they first clean my teeth normally. They wanted to sell me braces and they zoom white cleaning all on the first visit. It is the worst experience I've had at a Dennis office ever I was so upset I was crying after. read more

I recently made an appointment here after going to multiple dentist . Everyone was out of my price range and not willing to work with my financial situation. Aspen dental was truly a life saver . Not only were they willing to work with me but the staff was amazing! You can tell they really care about their patients. The office manager really took his time to go over my financial plan and made the process so much easier. Dental health should be made affordable to everyone and here at aspen they understand! Will definitely recommend to anyone that is looking for an amazing dental experience! read more

I HIGHLY recommend Aspen Dental in Royal Oak. They were so friendly from the beginning of the appointment down to the moment I walked out. Smiling faces, calm and reassuring. They made me feel really comfortable and at ease. I left feeling 10x better than when I walked in, after leaving I made a decision to leave my current dental facility and join them! Thanks ladies for all your help! read more

Didn't even get past the make an appointment stage. I called to make an appointment for a 6 month cleaning. I Spoke to someone named Sam, at corporate I guess.? She made the appointment for the Royal Oak office. Afterward, I had several text messages and phone calls prompting me to call them, so I did. What a joke. My "new patient appointment" was for a cleaning and complimentary xray. I was told by the receptionist that a cleaning couldn't be determined until after the hygienist looked at my teeth. What? Whatever happened to calling ,making an appointment and having a service done? I guess that's a thing of the past? So frustrating and unnecessary they just lost my business. read more

After having 3 dentists tell me the only option to solve my problems was full mouth restoration via fixed bridge implants, doing the uppers and lowers all at the same time, to the tune of $48,000, I went to Aspen Dental in Royal Oak Michigan. Dr Semaan suggested that we could do dentures and we could do the tops and bottoms at different time to spread the cost out a bit. While it's not optimal and prolongs the process, it was the best option for me! I got traditional dentures on top in December and implant supported dentures on the bottom in April. After insurance, my total cost was less than $10k and I had virtually no pain from either procedure! At it's worst, my pain was a 3 out of 10. Everyone has been amazing, my teeth are gorgeous and I had no pain??? WIN WIN WIN!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I don't know what happened between last year and this year but maybe new staff was the cause of this. I am a current patient and I scheduled my husband his first appointment in November 2021. It's now January 22, 2022 (only because they barley had any openings last year). My husband goes to his 8 am appointment only to be turned away because they "are currently not excepting new patients". He also received a confirmation call yesterday from the office to get his dental insurance information. WHY WOULD THIS NOT BE COMMUNICATED YESTERDAY!!!! WHAT A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME THIS MORNING! While my Husband was waiting for the office to open he filled out the new patient sheet via a text he received. When he got in the off they made him REFILL it back out on paper!! WHO IS THE GENIUS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS Unprofessional staff! All they said was "sorry". NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! read more

A cracked tooth led me to Aspen Dental from the moment I called the number to schedule an appointment the appointment line she was very pleasant and the ease of making an appointment was smooth. I got a quick appointment which led to me receiving a call from Diante he called to take a bit more information from me over the phone he was polite voice had a nice tone and we even had a few laughs over the phone. To no surprise when I went into the office once I was finished, he was very thorough with the treatment plan that was given to me and the details of my coverage. Walked into the office it was clean with a nice modern welcoming open design and I signed in filled out paperwork with ease and then called to the back by the most amazing young lady Antonia she greeted me with a smile that I could see under her face mask she was through with my x-rays making me feel comfortable and just being the best part of my entire experience we chatted between what was being done and when it was time for my procedure with Dr. Seeman she put on neo soul music that i could focus on while the sweet and careful Dr. Seeman did the most amazing job on fixing the crack in my tooth. I had to wait to see if she has a cancellation and she was very willing to fit me in to fix the crack in my tooth I am forever thankful. I go back on Tuesday for my crown to get put on and then for my cleaning I am looking forward to having more amazing experiences at Aspen Dental Royal Oak, MI. Customer service is what makes or breaks a business and the customer service I received was top tier. read more

LOVE LOVE this place for Botox - Dr. Samaan not only is an amazing dentist, but takes such great care of my skin too! She's super informed and professional. Highly recommend read more

Dr. Lundy, support and administrative staff and professional and personal. Great experience and I hate going to the dentist.

I went there as a new patient for a routine cleaning. I had a cleaning elsewhere 6 months ago but changed dentist due to insurance shift. They refused to do cleaning. They wanted me to have x-rays and let technician "look" at my teeth and determine what kind of cleaning I needed. THEN wanted to schedule cleaning for a later date based on whatever they found. Are they just double billing? Or was this just a high pressure sales tactic? WHAT a waste of my time. At a bare minimum, the staff should have told me when I called to make the appointment that they won't actually do a routine cleaning on a new patient during the first visit. Every other Dentist would do the cleaning and X-rays and then determine if more treatment was necessary. Not these guys - this is all about the upsell and trying to get you to sign up for unnecessary treatments. The prevalence of these high pressure sales tactics at Aspen Dental nationally is well documented and this office is no exception. Plus, don't waste your time putting information into the Aspen Dental website. I put in all of my insurance and personal information 2 weeks before appointment. The day before appointment they called and said they couldn't "see" my information. I opened website while they were on phone and could see every bit of my information. THEN, in the office, I had to fill out all the same forms AGAIN. Either the local office can't use a computer or the website is garbage. read more

This is the best dentist I've ever been to!! The staff is so friendly, especially the office manager Lynn! My hygienist Hannah was amazing and so was Dr. Semaan!! This was definitely the most thorough and informative dentist visit I've ever experienced. I'm recommending Aspen to everyone I know! read more

Horrible experience. After Dr. Semaan recommended invisible braces to me, which by the way are not Invisalign as advertised in their reception area but rather their own private brand, I was in them for four months of a six-month plan and noticed my upper teeth began shifting so far to one side that my two front teeth no longer aligned with my lower teeth or my upper lip. After inquiring about this situation and sharing my concern, Dr. Semaan said that she was there to straighten my teeth and had "no concern whatsoever with myself or any other patient about alignment!" What dentist says that???? She suggested that I just stop using the braces mid treatment and offered absolutely no solutions to fix the problem before dismissing my concerns and storming out of the room, leaving me with a smile that was completely screwed up and misaligned. I have now had to spend an additional $6,000 with an ortho who actually knows what they are doing to undo the damage she did and start all over again the right way.......Two of her own staff members told me how much they hate working for her and how toxic their work environment is, and the only decent dentist in that office quit, as well, to move to a different Aspen Dental office. Do yourself a favor and run the other way........ read more

The worst! Business model is painfully obvious, sell first, Dentisty second. First visit won't even clean teeth, spend hour plus taking scans so they can sell you stuff. Have to waste another day's appointment for cleaning. Then I decided to reschedule a cleaning out of an abundance of caution because of Covid exposure and they said it would be months out. I can't wait to be off the hmo that forced me to deal with them and back to a real dentists office! read more

I have been a patient for about a year at this Aspen Dental location. I'm a high maintenance case when it comes to dental care, and have struggled to find an office that I feel comfortable at. Other dental offices ran their offices like businesses instead of medical facilities. I felt like I was being upsold on options, instead of what my teeth really needed. Because of previous experiences, I waited a year to even post a review, because I really wanted to get a good experience to base my review on. I love this place. I love the office staff, I love the dentists, and I love the hygienists. I took my 4 year old son for his first visits, and they did very well with him. I received proper care without feeling like I was being sold on services. 10/10 would recommend. read more

My appointment 02/05/ at 12:41 for issues I was having with a crown, was a pleasant reception. I was ushered into an ex-ray room by a technician who began taking complex x-rays. I was surprised at the number of photos as I was told when I booked my appointment there would (be free X-ray exam with the first visit.) Next, I was placed in an examining room, typical dental chair; and a PLLC joined us. I don't know what that means, and I'm not going to use names. The upshot of all of this is, that no-one mentioned a transition from free-to charge for services. Not a Word! When I was shown a half dozen images of my mouth, the conversation was about receding gingiva; I don't have bleeding gums, of pain when brushing. I asked about the crown, " We can address that on your next appointment." OKAY? At the check out desk I was handed an invoice for . . . "get this" $1,637.00. I was in shock, I questioned and re question with no avail, and was told I that figure involved a $535.75 credit. This is the weekend and they are closed. I've pondered this all night. There was never a mention of a charge, I thought it foolish to take all the x-rays without "any mention of $$$. Free, hidden charges could a case for "false advertising," I'm eighty five years old, with a life expectancy (sans Carona) of about two to five years. I'm calling Visa for a stop payment. Would you invest $2,000.00 in my mouth, come on, guys, it time for a reboot. read more
