First this is a review of Scott Hadas. I went to Lifetime Dental for years. I like the staff. They are very pleasant and welcoming. Dr. Wernette was ask excellent dentist, one go the best. But he died, and when I went for my next appointment, I had his partner Scott Hodas. Hodas talked me into having my dentures relined, even though they fit well. He said they had to be relined every so many years and I was overdue. So I agreed to let him reline my dentures. BIG MISTAKE. Since the reline, I have to use denture adhesive twice a day, and my upper plate is not snug. I often find it difficult to talk. When I went for my six month cleaning, I wanted to talk to Dr. Hodas about this. He looked at the denture adhesive I brought along and said that's what the adhesive is for. read more

I have been going to Dr. Wernette for maybe 9-10 years now, and I've been really happy with the office overall. The office staff are professional, friendly and basically don't take crap with missed appointments or anything (they'll chuckle if they read this, they had to get hardcore on appointments with me about 5 years ago when I had a handful of last-minute cancels due to some repeated illnesses). Their cleanings are gentle, they've done same-day fillings and an extraction if needed for me and otherwise are just great. Anyway, went in today for my first cleaning since COVID-19 breakout. I have to say I was VERY impressed with their process and precautions. You wait in your car when you arrive for your appointment, call them to let them know you're there. They call you to come in, mask required, they do a temperature check and ask you to use their fancy hand sanitizer before you proceed to the exam room. They have a plexiglass divider hanging at the checkout station, and all employees wore masks and the hygienist & doc wore face shields as well. They did a great job keeping you away from other patients and it was very efficient considering. Highly recommend if you're nervous about a COVID-19 cleaning or other dental work. read more

I hadn't been to a dentist for years after a bad experience. I was so happy to find Dr Hodas and his team. They are great!! From painless procedures and wonderful follow ups from the doctor himself!! I was looking for a dentist that used my new insurance, and after reading the great reviews for Lifetime Dental Excellence (not on Yelp, oddly enough), I decided they seemed like a great fit. So far I've been there twice and couldn't be happier. I was looking for a small practice, and this is perfect- by my second visit they already knew my name. I like feeling like I'm not just another mouth; I'm a person. When I told them I always gag during x-rays, they even gave me a numbing spray to help, which I've never had before (and I've gone to probably a good 5 or 6 dentists). The staff are friendly and helpful, and the whole experience was about as good as it gets at a dentist's office! I highly recommend them. read more

This is the single most unprofessional establishment I have ever worked with. I scheduled an appointment with extended time for a cavity fill. When I got there, they said that they couldn't do it and called me a liar. The office manager proceeded to call and leave me SCREAMING voice messages about how I was a lair and they do not schedule appointments like that for a 2 days straight. Finally, the person I scheduled the appointment with spoke with her and confirmed that I scheduled the appointment as I had stated from the beginning. That conversation was revealed to me in another SCREAMING voicemail. She was mad in this one that I hadn't returned her screaming messages for the days prior and about how I should have called her back. I called back and notified her I would no longer be using them for my dental needs. She continued to berate me and then in an eerie calm state, "you know what? I think it is best for you to find a new dentist" I WILL NEVER GO BACK. SAVE YOURSELF AND AVOID THEM AT ALL COST. THE OFFICE MANAGER IS NOT WELL. read more

I had a great experience with them getting in for an emergency visit as a new patient. Dr. Wernette gave me all the options and actually talked me out of the most expensive one that I thought I needed. What a relief compared to my prior dentist that always pushed the most expensive option and then had the office staff call and hound you until you got it done. I walked away feeling that I got the best care possible. Glad I was referred to Lifetime! Update: Dr. Wernette called me two days after having my tooth pulled to check up on me. I have been a patient at LifeTime Dental for seceral years, their office came HIGHLY recommended and I am so glad I take the 45 minute drive to their office for my dental cleanings. The entire staff is friendly/professional which makes your experience very warm and inviting. I have had the same dental hygienist, Christina clean my teeth for every visit and she is very comforting. The office calls me to remind me of my appointment a few days prior plus I receive a reminder card a few weeks prior which is all helpful since I am a very busy mom and I would have forgotten! They are always punctual and very helpful, when my husband was potentially going to loose our dental insurance the office staff took the time to explain their dental package option which is VERY reasonable! After every cleaning Dr. Hodas sits down to look at my teeth and he will take his time, he never rushes in or out and AWLAYS makes me feel important! Fantastic dental office. Love Dr. Hodas & everyone there. State-of-the art equipment + great dental plan for cleanings, x-rays, etc. if you don't have insurance. We lost our dental insurance with GM so this was a God-send to us. Whenever I needed a quick appointment, they were able to squeeze me in. Found all their appointment times to be on scheduled with hardly or no wait time. I purchased the teeth whitening pack & am very pleased with it. Dr. Wernette is an excellent dentist. However, if you want superior customer service from a well trained front office staff, I would stay away. They aren't very organized, and they like to(loudly)discuss such lovely topics as celebrity facelifts and boob jobs. The one time that the hygienist was running late-half an hour late, the receptionist came into the waiting area, mumbled a half-assed apology, and shoved a pair of movie passes into my hand like they were about to spontaneously combust. I've been going here a few years. I like the staff, they are always able to get me into the times I want. No problems with false cavities like some of the other reviews. I've not been told I had any cavities in the two years I've been there. I have had an old filling replaced that was over 20 years old but otherwise feel the treatments are on track and handled well. read more

I had 3 major procedures done here about 3 years ago. I paid out of pocket for all of them. I have already had to have 2 of them redone, and now a porcelain crown (on my very back tooth) chipped - and my new dentist told me that tooth should NEVER have a porcelain crown... it should have a more durable material like zirconia. Now it needs to be redone. I basically wasted over $3,000 at this dentist. read more

Excellent staff! Courtney is an amazing young lady and has helped to remove my anxiety when visiting the dentist. She cleans my teeth like a champ and has a very kind and deft touch. All staff and Doctors have treated me and the family very well. They could use some kids books perhaps, but the fish tank is wonderful. read more

This was my first time at this dental office and I have to say the whole experience from beginning middle to end was great. I was able to get my first appointment within one week that was a plus. Dental cleaning was ok but it didn't seem very thorough in comparison to my previous dental office. The Dentist was fast but I wasn't sure if he knew what he was doing . The one thing this office has is nice equipment - they had digital x-rays and some data management software that can track your dental history to see if your dental health is improving or degrading over time. I think they are certainly worth visiting. read more

Wow!! Best experience I ever had at a dentist!!! As a child I had a crotchety old dentist who terrified me because he looked like a monster and his hands always smelled like onions!! (yes he never wore gloves). The next experience was an office called Apple Dental. Where I felt like it was an assembly line and I was just another number. Lifetime dental is a wonderful, professional, family atmosphere where I always feel welcome like I'm a guest in their home!!! From the receptionists, to the hygienists, to Dr. Wernette, Dr. Hodas and their assistants, they all are helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Does your dentist hand you the remote and let you watch sports center while you're in the chair??? I recently referred a co-worker who was looking for a good, " painless" local dentist and she said: first dentist she's been to where everything did not hurt!!! I couldn't agree more. After reading the negative reviews- I had to write a positive one. My wife and I have been going to Lifetime for many years. Dr Wernette and staff have excellent dental skills and use the latest equipment. They always follow up with a phone call if there is a crown or bridge. Their front office will work hard with the insurance coverage to make sure you get the results that are needed. We have friends that have been going there longer than us and they also have no complaints. Lifetime is a great dental office to have in downtown Clawson. By the way- we registered with Yelp many years ago while spending the winter in Kailua, Hawaii but are Michigan residents. This is an update- 2 days ago a crown on a wisdom tooth ,which was older than most of the Detroit Tigers , came apart and had to be replaced. It was Monday and they asked if there was pain which there was not so the appointment was made for Tuesday at noon. At 3:00 they called and said they would squeeze me in at 5:00. Because of the great equipment- I walked out of the office at 7pm with a new crown designed and replaced in 2 hours and that included a post. I want to thank the entire office for exceptional response time and Dr Wernette for another great job. read more

I got this great ad for a dental cleaning and x-rays and consultation. So I ran right in to get all that done. Never in my life has anyone said my teeth are that bad as that hygienist, Courtney. But they have this great water/sand blaster thing that flew through every tooth much faster than the old scraping method. It was easy and relatively painless. Once she was done and I'm ready to choose my flavor for the polishing, she told me my teeth were SO bad that I need to come back for a second cleaning at the full price. When Dr. Hodas came in, he right away commented on what nice teeth I have. The way she talked, I thought he was going to walk in and vomit. I wrote a letter to Dr. Hodas inquiring why his ad says "dental cleaning" but it's only a partial cleaning. He wrote back totally defending the hygienist and even brought up heart disease to me. (I just had a full physical and my doctor said all my scores are "enviable") I have since had my mouth looked at by my hygienist friend who was curious what the second cleaning could be for, except for them to make money. She did not see any of the bad things they saw at my dental appointment. Well, of course not! The plaque is gone, my teeth are clean, my gums are beautiful. A dental hygienist is a glorified cleaning lady. It would be like your maid coming in and saying, "Oh my god! I had to vacuum all your carpet. You should have seen the dust bunnies under your couch." Everyone grows plaque on their teeth and we all have dust bunnies under our couch between cleanings. I won't go back there again. read more

My Wife, Mother and Father all go to Lifetime Dental for their dental needs. They have all said nothing but good things about the place. Therefore, I decided to switch over and couldn't be more happy and satisfied. They made a bite guard for me to combat my teeth grinding at night and it couldn't fit better. I also had a mold made for teeth whitening as well as a cleaning and crown put on. They have the latest technology for administering the pain medicine as well as taking before and after photos of your teeth and showing them on the computer screen instantly after my crown was put on! I was fortunate to have found Dr. C after moving up from DC. In the past, I have only poor and painful memories of dentists and despite my reluctance, I can't imagine going to anyone else. There is not one time where I have not been greeted warmly, and the hygienist calls me back by my first name.. it just makes it so much easier that way. The one quality I can say that separates Dr. C from the rest (especially since I was having a serious procedure done), is he will ask you if you are feeling any pain whatsoever before he proceeds. It's just a small thing that shows he is concerned about how you are feeling, because in the end every one is different. That kind of says it all for me. read more

Lifetime Dental has been great to my whole family! I started going years back and now my parents go, my brothers and their families, and friends now bring their families there! You are greeted with a smile from the time you walk in to the time you walk out. The one thing that really impressed me was how much time the Dr. spends with you. I have been to other offices where the Dr. will come in for maybe 3 - 5 minutes and that is it. This Dr. will come in, sit down, chat with you and do a good exam. I had an emergency once, and they got me right in. I feel like they know me there and have made my family part of their family even though we only see each other 2 times a year!
