My doctor dentist is a preacher's kid and a teacher's son. He's gifted and talented. He has the best staff. I love how Ana and the entire staff takes care of me. As soon as I enter I feel welcome. Before I even went there, the paperwork was supposed to be sent to me via email and it wasn't. There was also no detail provided about the consultation or what that entails. I got on a call to reschedule my appointment for a closer date because I was trying to make a decision pretty quickly regarding the invisible aligners. The person on the phone said they have no control over the paperwork and hopefully it came through this time. Thankfully, it did so I did the paperwork ahead of time. Fast-forward to me getting there for my 830 appointment and waiting until about 20 minutes after that to be seen. There were an excessive amount of x-rays (the 360 and about 15 manual x rays and then a full 3D wand image) more than I have ever had for any visit in my entire life. There was also a comment made by the very nice tech ( to another tech) stating that I did not want to bite down on the x-ray thing. That is not true and minimized the disability that I had disclosed for a proactive reason. The issue is my jaw cannot hold that much weight, I needed the smallest x ray film device, and it was literally cutting into the roof of my mouth. Fast-forward to getting in the chair and having the dental hygienist, do an exam. I waited a longer amount of time than necessary for that. They also swapped a hygienist out because somebody needed to go speak Spanish to a different patient which impacted my visit. Once that was done, and then waited for the dentist who they had told that I needed to be at a different appointment by 10 AM because this assessment should not have taken more than an hour max. They said the dentist was quick, but I saw him go into somebody else's room who was there after me. This of course delayed my visit longer and I ended up getting out of there after 9:45 AM. I was there slightly over an hour and 45 minutes which is absolutely unheard of for which should have been just a consultation for these invisible liners. After the visit, I received emailed estimates that were not very detailed, which left me with pause. I was also told via email that they would follow up with me on Monday the 13th after they talk to insurance which again I did not know they were contacting insurance for a consultation. It is now the 15th and I do not have any response from them and I checked in with them yesterday for an update. I had also called my dentist on Monday and they said they never heard from Aspen Dental. While the people at the Clinic were nice and friendly, the business operation piece is not well organized, and there is a clear lack of follow through along with care and consideration for the patient's time. I went for an adjustment for a denture. They attempted a fix when they were not familiar or qualified. Destroyed it. New one will be $3500. The creepy office manager stayed in the procedure room acting like an assistant. Not a nice guy. I'd see a veterinarian before I'd go back there read more

I went here because i was looking for a dentist that's closer to where i live and had a cracked filling on my upper right side of my mouth and was told over the phone that they are open every saturday. I make a consultation appointment for the following saturday at 8am. I wanted to opt out of using AI to diagnose me but no one mentioned it so i did when i was waiting for the dentist, i was then told that they already used it on one of the xray scanners. A dental hygienist came in to check my gum health & she explained that i should do a deep clean that they offer. 9:50 the dentist finally comes into my exam room, he mentions older fillings, wants to do some crowns, and says he wants to redo an old root canal. I mention that im free next saturday and i'm told the person who does root canals comes in only once a month and never on saturdays, i mentioned i was under the impression that you guys work on saturdays, im then told its only one saturday a month and the specialist isnt part of that schedule. I mention my pain in my upper right from my cracked filling, he cant find it through looking or on xray. He looks at the xray behind me and says aloud "i don't have time for this i have a patient in the other room". He says to go up front and the ladies will get me pricing and scheduling. I can hardly sit in their tiny seats so i had to just have one cheek on the seat while talking to her. She looks up specialists for the root canal and none are available on saturdays and tells me i need to research on my insurance website and tell them where to send the referral. She hands me a quote for the cleaning, the root canal, the crowns & laundry list of things he'd like to do to my teeth which totalled over $21,000 AFTER insurance to which i laughed and scoffed. Just for giggles i then said and how much if i just did that deep cleaning i was told about and was told $604 AFTER insurance which is insane but felt like a bargain compared to 21k for a guy who "doesn't have time for this". Needless to say i got the hell out of there and have zero desire to go back even if i win the lottery. read more

My husband needed an emergency extraction. His tooth broke, his face was swollen, and the infection was obvious. I went online and found Aspen Dental, who advertised emergency dental care. I filled out the online appointment form and even clicked the "extraction of painful tooth" option. A receptionist later called to confirm, and we briefly discussed what was needed. She told us to bring his insurance card. My husband left work early for this appointment, only to be left sitting in a room after X-rays were taken. A full bill was prepared (for work he didn't come in to get) but no treatment was provided. No tooth pulled. No antibiotics. Nothing. He walked out the same way he walked in: in pain, with a broken and infected tooth. Aspen completely wasted his time. What kind of dental office calls this "emergency care"? You could have had two new patients, but instead you left my husband suffering. Not a real dental office, just a front. Now, we have to find a REAL dental office and he'll have to take off work AGAIN. Aspen Dental, you're a joke! (1 star is because I was able to book online) read more

my boyfriend went in to get a wisdom teeth extraction and they quoted him at 9000 dollars and started telling him all the things he needed done.. seemed ridiculous so i checked reviews and it happens that we aren't the only ones to deal with this issue. We proceeded to go somewhere else and he only paid 250 out of pocket and they didn't bring up anything else about his teeth. They are a scam and want to "find reasons" to up the price. i DO NOT suggest coming here if you want to even have money by the end of it. read more

I really cannot comment on Aspen Dental's patient care as I never got that far. I made an appointment online with the Phoenix Arcadia location and received an email the next day or so to confirm the appointment. I responded to the email and reported for the scheduled appointment on 11/05/2024 at 4:30 PM. Upon arrival I was informed that there was no appointment. Apparently there was an attempt to contact me by phone to once again confirm the appointment. I either did not receive this call or it was sent to spam. At any rate the receptionist offered to reschedule the appointment to which I declined. There are many Dentists in the Phoenix area. read more

For starters this place is INCREDIBLY disorganized and unprofessional. This is my second time requesting an appointment all them to drop the ball TWO TIMES. I scheduled to see a specific doctor (due to tenure and rating) at their branch and was advised he was there by the scheduling crew and by someone in the office. On the day before my appointment, they call to confirm and say HE IS NOT THERE and just threw me with some random newbie recent grad who's inexperienced. I would never let a newbie touch my teeth especially when I have not done my due diligence on them. I take pride in my beautiful teeth and smile too do that. I cancelled and said I may reach back out later. I continued to get BOTHERSOME calls and emails from their office to follow up. I unfortunately could not go back to my regular dentist since he is booked so far out and has vacations etc. So I decided to give Aspen another chance since they are close and have half decent overall ratings. I decided to answer their call and book an appointment and I SPECIFICALLY told these people: I'm coming in for an "exam, x ray, and general cleaning which is a STANDARD basic level of dental care service you'd receive regardless of being a new patient. I advised this THREE times to these people. I take the day off of work and I get here 30 minutes early. The OFFICE MANAGER "Ms $7.99 Great clips Bob" with the cold harsh GLASS looking eyes, didn't even greet me and say good morning. She went on to say "aren't you the person from 2 weeks ago that said xyz?" And she kept pushing the point as if she was holding a grudge. Almost as if her intent behind that question is "why are you here after you complained about the dentist". I took OFFENSE TO THAT. Don't dare you question me about the first encounter that YOU failed to deliver on and you should be THANKFUL I'm giving you a second chance after I took time to research. That's all that matters. That's not even the issue, I told her why I was here again and she goes on to say "we will see if we can fit you in for a cleaning". NO. I specifically told you all on the phone why I was coming today. Then she says "we can PROBABLY do a cleaning at 11am". You want me to come back 3 hours later for a general basic cleaning? Absolutely NOT, I have plans today and it definitely doesn't include sitting in a seat for hours upon hours. Sounds like a billing SCAM so they can code it as two appointments instead of ONE. The level of disrespect and unprofessionalism sickens me, especially from the Office Manager. Apart of me feels like, she did this on purpose. I do not recall her name, maybe Dawn, but from the above description, she's not hard to miss. I'll be reporting you all to BBB and to my insurance company for investigation. read more

This place is the sketchiest dental place I've ever visited!!! Multiple things went wrong during my visit. First, they told me I had early stage periodontitis and that I would need to pay $800 to get that fixed. I asked them what that $800 included and they responded that part of charge was for an electric toothbrush, which I told them multiple times I already had! Sketchy as shit!! I didn't want to pay $800 so I decided to go to another dentist and asked Aspen to send me my X-rays and they ignored my request. Anyway, the other dentist I went to see said there was nothing wrong with my mouth, let alone periodontitis!! I then went to see a THIRD dentist because this sketchy garbage place made me paranoid, and the third dentist also confirmed that there's nothing wrong with my mouth. Aspen literally made that shit up to steal my money! Hate hate hate this place. Unethical and grimy. Shouldn't be legal!! read more

I had an initial visit and will not be returning. I came in for tooth pain where I have a filling. It seemed like the filling had cracked. When I walked in, the dental hygienist was literally laying on the floor behind the reception desk. She looked like she was napping and I could clearly see her when I walked up to check in. She was just chilling there in full scrubs and immediately I realized how unprofessional this place was. The hygienist slowly got up when she saw me and proceeded to loudly gossip with the billing lady next to her. The receptionist asked for my address, which I told her and then she goes "Sorry I was trying to listen to them. what was it again?" ..... She was too busy listening to gossip then the patient's answer to her question. It only got worse from here! The x-ray tech couldn't get the x-ray machine working. They took me to a big one. Then they took me to the small one. Then they took me to the hand held one... 20 xrays later and they finally had some fuzzy images of my mouth. I don't think that's safe. They should NOT be testing their x-ray machines on people and giving them xrays over and over trying to get them to work. Finally - the dentist himself. He was nice, but didn't seem knowledgeable. He did not review any of the x-rays that took SO MANY times to finally do. He poked around in my mouth and said that we'll just replace the filling... There was no information about how bad it is, what can be done in the meantime, nothing. And he admitted that his diagnosis was just from scraping his tool against the tooth. Not from review of xrays. Just seeing the hygienist laying on the floor in the reception is enough for me to run away from this place - the other stuff just took the cake. read more

They are a complete fraud. I went in for a dental cleaning, and the croony "dental hygienist" and "doctor" diagnosed me with aggressive periodontal disease. Long story short, they chalked up a 3-6 month treatment plan running in the thousands. I was uncomfortable with their diagnosis, so I decided to leave. I went to my regular dentist, who gave me a clean bill of dental health and laughed when I mentioned this shady office diagnosed me with periodontal disease. Now two months later, I got a bill for $244 even though they did not perform any treatment at all. They even refused to clean my teeth until I signed up for a shady treatment plan. I look forward to the day this location gets shut down and their staff gets thrown in prison for medical fraud. read more

I'd first like to start by sayin how TERRIFIED I am of the dentist. I had such a bad experience as a child that it traumatized me to the point where I honestly rather have my teeth fall out then to go near a drill. Two days ago I was in the most excruciating pain as one of the nerves in my tooth was exposed. After I could no longer handle the pain, I decided to look for an emergency dentist. I called about 4 different offices who not only couldn't get me in on the same day but were no help finding another office and plainly didn't care when I told them I was in pain. I stumbled upon Aspens information online and called. As soon as I told her what was the reason for visit she expressed immediate concern and informed me she could schedule me for the same day , in fact in a few hours of me calling. Once I arrived, check in was easy and every single person I came in contact with was genuinely concerned for me. The x-ray tech was extremely gentle since half my face was in pain. The next person who came to see me, Sandy I believe noticed I was in pain and immediately went to ask if I could be numbed. The doctor came in to numb me so I like be more comfortable and instantly the pain was gone. They all explained very thoroughly what to expect and every step they planned on taking. I have never been to such an amazing dental office and I'm sooo thankful I found them! Thank you so much again! read more

Crazy crazy scam artists. Do not come here unless you have a LOT of disposable money. My husband went here to get a checkup. They then told him he would need $4000 worth of work AFTER insurance. We told them that 4K is a LOT, so we'd need to break it up over a few appointments. The first appointment was supposed to be just cleaning and general maintenance, and still ran us $950 after insurance. We explained that was still a lot of money, but they assured us that they cut out all of the extras and the $950 was just the essentials. They said it would include the two cleaning visits and a follow up appointment. When we got home with our bill, we realized they included a $120 electronic blue tooth tooth brush into the $950 without telling us about it. Then we go in our our follow up and they charge him an additional $84 for the appointment. Now, we've just got a past due notice in the mail saying we owe them an additional $175 from the original cleaning that was 3 months ago. Nobody can explain why and they change their story each time we ask. So now we're at $1200 just for some clean teeth. Insane. read more

I had an appointment this morning for a prescheduled procedure. I sat in the waiting room at the Dobson location for over an hour past my appointment time, just to be told an hour and half my appointment time that they no longer had the time to do my procedure. The office manager was resistant to provide the regional manager's contact information or name. I left without being seen by a medical provider and without any treatment. They do not treat you as a patient or with any respect to your time. I'll never return. Balthazar Torres is the regional manager and he seriously needs to improve this office. read more

Called in the morning. Scheduled a teeth cleaning right away same day in the afternoon. Nice and friendly staffs. Recently relocated from another state to Arizona, they already have all my information and insurance. Walked in, filled out a short easy paper form, got my teeth cleaned, walked out with a smile. My dental hygienist Sandy. Very friendly and with the great smile. Nicest lady. Very professional and got my teeth cleaned. Never have a dull or awkward moment the whole time when she was cleaning my teeth. Interesting conversation and she also suggested the most popular places where all the young people hangout to me since I just moved to Arizona. Nice experience and I will definitely revisit in 6 months for another teeth cleaning. read more

Five stars for the over all experience ! I'm giving four stars due to time. I made three appts in three weeks, the first two I waited what seemed like forever . I'm totally understanding when falling behind or short staffed, but I'd appreciate that being communicated to me. The last appt I had was an early morning appt and that one I got seen right on time ! So now I know book MORNINGS. The hygienist is really great she explains what's she's doing , how to keep up with your cleaning at home . She's passionate about her job and I love that. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND SHODDY DENTAL WORK. They did a crown for me but since they didn't shave my tooth properly the "permanent" crown popped off less than one year later. So I go to an actual dental practice where they know what they're doing and they showed me X-rays and explained why it happened and it was because they didn't shave my tooth properly. ***SCAM ALERT!!!!! SCAM ALERT!!*** Do not go to this dentist!!!!!! I took my daughter into Aspen Dental to get X-rays and an exam (FREE). She was told after the x-rays and exam that she had 7 cavities that needed to be filled ASAP !! This would be about $1500.00 This of course shocked both of us. We decided to get her cleaning at a different dentist office and get a 2nd opinion. She got her cleaning done today. The dentist said her teeth were is good condition and she had less tartar than a lot people that come in every 6 months. HE DIDN'T RECOMMEND ANY FILLING AT THIS POINT!!!. I originally had come in for my 6 month cleaning and check up. I informed the hygienist that I did not feel comfortable doing X-rays since I'm pregnant and I'll be due before my next appointment anyway and we could take X-rays then. She seemed bothered by this stating that it would be fine and questioning me as to why I declined the X-ray. I hadn't had the opportunity to discuss this with my OB doc and at this time I did not wish to have X-rays done. After this point she measured my gums and this is where the appointment continued to go south. The hygienist informed me that I apparently had advanced gingivitis/periodontal disease, and to make matters worse she casually told me that this is going to affect my baby. She told me that I would need to have an advanced cleaning and come every 3 months to get a cleaning done, which would not be completely covered by insurance. This has never been discussed at any of my previous appointments and seemed so out of the blue. I became very upset after she made me worry about the health of my child, to the point of tears, which made the hygienist uncomfortable and she rushed me out the room into the lobby since apparently I wasn't going to be getting a cleaning that. Afterwards I looked through reviews on Yelp where many people had a similar experience of being told they had periodontal disease only to find out from a different dentist that it was a false diagnosis. This company only cares about money to the point of trying to manipulate me by threatening the health of my baby. I am absolutely disgusted by this behavior and will be looking for dental care elsewhere. read more

This review is for my partner's experience with this office. He had a dental cleaning today, booked weeks in advance, showed up and was told they cancelled it because he didn't confirm his appointment, although all the text messages he received were only reminders for his appointment, INCLUDING one today that said we can't wait to see you. They said "oh those come from our corporate office", so? If it was "cancelled" why did he get a text today, the day of his appointment, saying we can't wait to see you? Make it make sense. Not only did they waste his time, they were rude and immediately locked the door once he walked out. Go figure, they just wanted a reason to close the office early rather than still see him, so they cancelled his appointment. Disgusting business practices and we cancelled all upcoming appointments we had with this office and will be going elsewhere. read more

I had a crown that came out and left part of it still imbedded...went to my husband's dentist and decided I needed a 2nd opinion. Called Aspen Dental at the Power Rd. Mesa location. Very impressed with the facility - spotless. Nothing but courtesy from the time I came in until I left. Didn't get the x-ray or the hygienist name - they told me, just don't recall. Let me be clear - I detest x-rays but not a problem here. The tech was very gentle and it was 'almost' a pleasure! My dentist was Josh. He not only gave me three options going forward but explained after they removed what was left of the still attached broken crown, I could wait a very decent time frame to complete the procedure. (We are still paying off my husband's full upper implants). I was given a treatment plan with costs broken down and the options. No one made me feel bad that I was on a limited budget. The price was better than what I had been quoted at my husband's dentist. In addition, what I had been told was a cavity, was only a stain. I have no complaints of this office - only COMPLIMENTS. My expectations are that this will continue throughout my treatment plan. read more

Aspen Dental is the absolute worst! High pressure sales tactics used, and caught them red handed trying to prescribe a treatment for me for thousands of dollars that a second dentist said was absolutely not recommended. It is really sad that this crappy company takes advantage of people and I view them as related to my healthcare...should be illegal what they do. Also they don't warranty their crown installation procedures (which is an industry norm) and they improperly installed a crown that will cost me over a thousand dollars to fix...is comical how they will comment on this review post to say "they will reach out to address any concerns"! I hope they go under soon so that nobody else is negatively affected by them. Funny how there is a new dentist every time I would go in...I guess they had a guilty conscience and would look for a new practice...rant over. Be advised...don't fall for their trap. read more

Went in a couple of weeks ago for exam. When I was done I gave Brittany a copy of my dental insurance and I was told someone would reach out to me with my estimate out of pocket for work I needed done. It has been almost 2 months and I have not heard back from anyone. So I called again today and was told a manager would call me back today. No call so I called again and the guy who answered the phone said I did not get estimates because they do not have my dental insurance on file. Sorry there is no excuse! I saw Brittany make a copy of my insurance card and if they misplaced it then I should have gotten a call back with them saying so. So I gave the guy my insurance information over the phone and he confirmed my email. He assured me he would email me my estimate and list of work I needed done. It is 4 pm and no email. I work for Banner Health and I have some coworkers who have gone through similar experiences. One even had to go to office in person to get someone to talk to her. Poor communication and call backs. This was the worst experience I have ever had. I walked in and was not greeted. I sat down and after five minutes I went back up to the desk to make sure someone even knew that I was there. I then waited for an hour to be taken back. During this time I went to the front and asked how much longer it would be. The woman went up to who I believe was the manager to ask. From where I was standing I heard the woman say "I don't want to deal with it right now". She then looked up and saw that I was looking at her and appoligized. I was told that they were waiting for someone that could do x-rays. The X-rays them self were very painful. I have had them done many times but this time by far was the absolute worst. I was taken back to the chair which I then waited again. I met the hygienist which told me it was her second day of working straight out of school. Finally the dentist came in. She looked at my teeth for thirty seconds and then told me she would give me a quote on the small cavity I had. I asked her "what about the pain between my teeth and gums" she replied "hmm Ill have the hygienist come take a look. Call me crazy but I would hope the Dentist would know better then the hygienist. Run away, don't walk! This review is based on my experience with the parent company, Heartland Dental, and dentist Nidra Patel. I had six veneers installed by Dr. Patel at Kokopelli Dentistry, formerly owned by Heartland. Heartland also owns Aspen Dental. Within two years, two dentists have told me that at least one tooth was improperly installed and could pop off at any time. Additionally, there is a large, obvious gap between the tooth and the gums. Dr. Patel maintained that it was gum disease. It is not according to my new dentist. Heartland Dental promised to address the issue but have conveniently never called me back.
