Ok, so here is what happened. It was around 11 pm on Thursday and I just wanted to eat a nectarine before calling it a day. Couple bites into it - I heard a weird crunch, felt something was not right, looked at myself in the mirror and froze in disbelief. My front tooth was chipped! For some odd reason - my first thought was - Oh, this is how Alex must have felt in episode of Orange is the New Black in Season 6. I literally could not believe that this was really me staring at myself in the mirror. Well, the next thing I did - started to go through Yelp in a frantic search for a good dentist that could help me. After my thorough research, deep into the night, I left several messages to the dentist offices in the area pleading to take me in if they had an opening. This was now Friday morning and the thought of remaining looking like this even past weekend - was frightening. So, next thing that happened - I will never forget. At around 8:30 am - Dr. Liu himself calls me back and I could hear in his voice he nearly felt as bad as I did for what happened. He was absolutely booked solid and his official hours that day were scheduled to end at noon. He considered the options and the best we could come up with is the appointment on Monday. He did give me a glimpse of hope by saying - "I will let you know if I get any time to maybe just examine you". Well, less than an hour later I get a phone call from Dr. Liu - "Ok, I have a little time - just come in, so I can examine and see what is happening". Fast forward several hours - Dr. Liu not only saw me for x-rays, he and his amazing assistant Lesley, arranged for me to stay after hours!! Dr. Liu fixed my chipped front tooth with such perfection, incredible attention to details that, frankly was astonishing. Dr. Liu is sincerely the most compassionate doctor I have ever met. He really strives to address the root of the problem in addition to paying meticulous attention to details. And the price he charged me for this service - was more than fair! I really hope you never have to go through experience like mine but in case something happens - Dr. Liu will help you out, that I am sure of. read more

The fear that everyone usually has, going to the dentist. Whether its getting teeth removed, braces, retainer, fillings, or simple cleaning. It just feels so unnatural for the teeth to go the utter shock of equipment. Throughout my life, I have had all those procedures with great dentists, bad dentists, and some good ones. Dr. Liu is one of the best because of his concept of patient care. He puts you at such ease because by asking if you want to listen to particular music, watch TV, or gets other ways to sidetrack you. First off, I don't leave reviews often but I am very excited to leave this one! Dr. Liu and his staff went above and beyond to accommodate my chipped tooth emergency. An unfortunate incident with Halloween candy chipped one of my bottom front teeth. From the time I called to the time it was fixed to perfection was 48 hours. They have won my business but more importantly, my trust! I scheduled my routine cleaning and xrays with them for next month. I am a cash pay patient and I think their prices are fair. Dr. Liu spent so much time with me, he treated me like I mattered, very difficult to find these days. I could go on and on about how easy and painless the numbing and procedure was and that my tooth is absolutely perfect. Another five star review. I am currently out of town for work and my 17 year old son decided last night was a good time to get into some horseplay with his buddy. Of course he wound up with a tooth broken in half. Excellent timing. Fast forward 12 hours, I called and begged this previously-unknown dentist to see my son on a moment's notice -- and "oh yeah doc, I am out of town and have no way to get the kid money or credit cards." They were booked tight but managed to wedge my kid in anyway. Bravo for the humanity. Because my son is a minor and I was hundreds of miles away, they worked with me to pay the bill and sign docs electronically. Then the doc called me, not once but twice, to break down what was happening and then the final outcome. He explained it all very clearly and then invited me to call him if I ever have any questions. What? Groovy. My son felt comfortable and said he really likes him. He fixed the tooth and was extremely fair on his charges. I was prepared (emotionally if not financially) to drop a couple thousand into my son's mouth over the phone. But the doctor didn't take advantage of the situation and looked for the least invasive and inexpensive options with a wait-and-see attitude about what we may have to do in the future. I appreciated that and it made me trust him. In the end, it was a very inexpensive procedure. He warned me it could go bigger later, but we can wait and see and hope for the best. Dealing with this today and finding a new doctor who we can trust was a huge relief. I believe I have fallen in love with this doctor -- in an "I love the dentist I've never met" kind of way. My first visit was back in 2012 and have been here for regular cleaning every since. They were always great and I referred a handful of coworkers here who also had a great experience. They are a pretty busy office but they manage their schedule well and I never waited long. Exam and cleaning was always well done and I felt like a valued patient. The bedside manner of Dr. Liu always made me feel like a friend and not just a patient. He just seems like a great dude. I am just writing a review now because I had just had some real dental work done here and was beyond impressed. I had an old filling from 2006 crack over the weekend. I knew that was bad and needed to be fixed asap. I came in on Tuesday and although they were VERY busy that day he did not seemed stressed or rushed. He was efficient and steady. He explained his analysis and recommendation. I told him I would follow his recommendation and he got right to work even though I knew he had a full schedule. At this point in the experience he already deserves a 5 star rating, but I have to say what really blew me away was his work. Just the right amount of numbing, no pain but not overly numb, he was key'd into how I was feeling the whole time. They office was very busy with many things vying for his time and the whole time he was calm and collected. The end results was better than I expected. The new filling not only looks 10X better than my original but is more functional, and just feels better. I can't even imaging it being better and wish I would have had him replace my other filling while I still had insurance. I firmly believe Dr. Liu is the best damn dentist. read more

Dr. Liu is hands down the best dentist office experience I have ever had. A breath of fresh air. I have had maybe 5 or 6 dentists in my lifetime and how many times do you sit down for a cleaning or exam and you might see the dentist for 5 minutes of face time? People packed in the waiting room, 30 minutes late for your appointment, NOT HERE! Dr. Liu actually performs the entire cleaning himself. From the time I sat down in the chair to the time I walked out of the office Dr. Liu was there the entire time giving me his undivided attention. Unprecedented from my experience to get this much face time with a dentist.... this is how it SHOULD be but I have never experienced this before. Dr. Liu is super friendly, patient, and shows a knack for detail. Throughout the exam and cleaning he was there 1 on 1 with me to explain every step of the process. He repaired an old filling that I had. He took these awesome close-up color photos and blew them up on the screen to show me exactly why these fillings had been giving me problems (sensitivity) he gave me options throughout the procedure and I felt like I learned so much about taking care of my teeth. Later that evening, after the dental work, he sent me a personal text message to check up on me. It was really an inspiring experience from the patient point of view. Also I would add that his office staff goes out of their way to be helpful and follow up with requests for information on insurance, provided accurate pricing estimates, and they were very responsive to all of my inquiries. Some Dental Offices put an emphasis on Business (Volume of Patients & Revenue) but it is evident with Dr Liu his priority is the care of the patient and that is pretty dang awesome that he actually cares. read more

One thing he said that really put me at ease and helped me realize this was, "if you have any pain, then I haven't done my job." I wanted to start this off by saying, I have never walked into a dental office and felt as comfortable as I did when I first walked into Dr. Liu's office. The environment in this office is so calm, the staff makes you feel welcomed right away. Dr. Liu is the most thorough dentist I've ever met. BEST DENTIST AROUND!! This dentist and staff are very accommodating and got me scheduled soon after I called. Once I arrived for my appointment, I didn't have to wait. As nervous as I was about receiving treatment, Dr. Liu's calming persona helped out immensely. In the past I have always feared the numbing but with Dr. Liu I can honestly say that I did not feel a thing. He went very slowly with the injection and really took his time throughout the entire filling. His staff was great and very friendly. This dentist even called me up after hours to check on me and see how I was feeling after the filling. After 7 year Active Duty Air Force I have had more then a few dentists in that time. Now, separated from AD service, I have luckily stumbled upon Dr. Liu as my new permanent dentist. I've got nothing but positive feed back for him and his staff. Everyone is extremely nice; they treat you as if you are family. Yesterday I came in to replace a filling on a chipped front right tooth(very hard to get just right), this was the fourth time I've had this filling replaced, but the first time by Dr. Liu. The procedure took longer then I hoped(no one's ever truly happy to be in "the chair") but, the long wait was more then worth it. My tooth now looks amazing! This was the best job anyone has ever done rebuilding it. The best part, as requested Dr. Liu made sure to make it as close to the original as possible, so much so, my high end custom mouth guard for Jiu Jitsu still fits great! I meant to post this many months ago, but better late than never. I had to visit Dr. Liu on an emergency basis. I called in the morning and he saw me at 3pm, as their final patient. Had he not seen me, he and his staff probably would have been able to call it a day and leave (keep that in mind for the rest of the review). When I arrived at the office, the entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. Back when friend of mine was in dental school, he informed me that dentistry had one of the highest suicide rates of all professions mainly because the large majority of patients always approached it with such anxiety, and that affected treatment and doctor/patient rapport. Dr. Liu was incredibly comforting in that respect and made me feel at ease. After he took the initial X-rays and determined that a replacement of the filling was all that was needed, along with reshaping the tooth, he initially said that he could do that the next day. I was fine with that, despite the pain I was experiencing. I could just avoid contact with the tooth for a day. Dr. Liu accidentally poked the tooth and I kind of flinched in pain, and it was at that moment he decided that he wanted to fix it immediately. He did not ask me if I wanted to, he just said, "let's get it done now because of the pain you're having". From his conversations with his assistant, I could tell that she was prepared to leave for the day and had already committed to something else. But I heard her say that she could just arrange it for later that night (as I referenced in the intro). As Dr. Liu was doing his work, I could tell how much care he took in ensuring that he did 150%. Though I was getting restless in the chair, he was doing everything he could to make sure it was right and I was good with that. The procedure ended up taking longer than probably expected (almost 1.5 hours, if I recall correctly) due to the amount of "rebuild" that was necessary. I was so grateful for Dr. Liu not making me come back to get this done because I was in a lot of pain. On top of that, after my insurance paid, I was owed a refund. There was a slight delay in issuing my refund, and Dr. Liu called me TWICE to apologize for the delay and then to advise me that the refund was issued and when to expect the check. NEVER would I expect the dentist (or doctor) to contact me personally. I would easily recommend Dr. Liu, and I have! The office may not be all glamorous and modern, but I'd easily trade that for the comfort and service that Dr. Liu and his staff deliver. read more

As this was my initial visit with him, he did a great job of walking me through his approach with a new patient. He was very precise and thorough with his dental procedures, and he put a lot of importance on gathering as much data and information about my dental history as possible; all which made me very comfortable. Dr. Liu did a great job of explaining the results of my dental work, and of informing me on what I need to do in order to work towards better dental health/hygiene.
