However, this experience was significant enough that I feel it is important to share what happened. This was my first visit to Fort Worth Dental. No dental treatment was provided. I left the appointment without receiving the care I came in for, yet the practice still submitted a claim to my insurance. During the appointment, I was accused by the dentist Dr. Pham three separate times of drug use based on the condition of my teeth. I do not use drugs. I also do not believe the condition of my teeth was severe enough to warrant such an accusation, particularly from someone who had no knowledge of my dental history. What I found especially unprofessional and ignorant was that, after I corrected the accusation, it was repeated rather than acknowledged and moved past. As a patient, you have to trust your dental provider to listen to you, respect you, and approach your care professionally. I felt that trust was violated during my very first visit. Patients should be able to seek dental care without being subjected to unsupported accusations, particularly when those accusations are repeated after being corrected. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this practice to anyone who values being treated with basic respect, professionalism, and trust. The dentist was confidently incorrect and made the entire situation extremely unprofessional.

Then I saw Dr. Lambourbe, he concluded that I would need to use their third party dentist to remove my wisdom teeth. The problems came with the "outside" dentist and his assistant that come into the office every other week for the removal. The assistants name was Olivia and she had an attitude. I wasn't sure if it was because I decline the additional services, or customer service just wasn't a priority. It was an unpleasant interaction from beginning to end. Before leaving I asked if there was ice I could use and she said I don't know this isn't my office. So when I went to the front to pay, I asked the staff and Olivia said I was just about to get it. Well, I wouldn't know because of your previous response. The paperwork I was given didn't have any signatures for the prescriptions. Then Olivia said I was just about to do that. So then that should have been done before handing me my paperwork. Then the trouble came with filling prescription. I let them know there was issue and if they could let the dentist know. 3 hours go by, no one calls, so I call back. Whoever answered the call was rude, asks me if " I'm in pain?". It was a mess. Then as time goes by I realized I was never given a follow up appointment. So I call to inquiry and the receptionist was like okay well do you notice any pain or discomfort. I said no but I wanted to make sure I was looked at and she says " Well everything is good on our end". I was so turned off. It felt like I was just a transaction, no concern for care. Based on that conversation, I was referred to a periodontist to discuss a gum graft as a possible solution. I scheduled the appointment and took time out of my day because I trusted that this referral was appropriate for my condition. At the consultation, the periodontist briefly examined the area, asked what my primary concern was, and after I explained that it was the embrasure, immediately stated that a gum graft would not correct an embrasure. He then said the general dentist would need to discuss restorative options such as a veneer or crown instead. After the appointment, I was told I owed a consultation fee. I questioned why I was being charged for a consultation regarding a treatment that the specialist immediately determined would not address my concern. I was then told the consultation was also intended to determine whether I was a candidate for a veneer or crown. That explanation does not align with the reason I was given for the referral. I was referred specifically to discuss a gum graft-not to obtain clearance for a veneer or crown. My concern is not that specialists charge consultation fees. My concern is that I was referred for a treatment that the specialist determined almost immediately was not an appropriate option for the condition I was referred to discuss. This resulted in an unnecessary appointment, wasted time, and an attempt to charge me for a consultation that, in my opinion, should never have been necessary if the appropriate evaluation had been completed before the referral. For that reason, I declined to pay the consultation fee. I don't believe that I should be financially responsible for a referral that appears to have been inappropriate from the outset. I am requesting a clear explanation as to why I was referred for a gum graft consultation when the specialist determined almost immediately that a gum graft would not resolve my primary concern. They are very good about spreading out all the work I need done, which will be a lot. We are taking it one procedure at a time. Dr. Garrett was very nice and professional. He and staff explained everything every step of the way. He had no problem with my husband being in the room for support (unlike the previous dentist which was very creepy) I had two teeth removed and I can happily say the almost immediate relief I felt was amazing. The staff was very caring about my level of pain and made sure I was properly numb for the removal and informed for the recovery. The front desk staff is always very friendly. While Dr. Garrett may be young he is much more competent then many other older dentists I have seen. 5 stars happily given!
