this past week I was in Dr. Spear's office for periodontal maintenance after deep clean several months ago. The hygienist is very gentle and did a terrific job. I also had x-rays for a potential extraction I will need soon. Dr. Spear was so thorough in going over the x-rays and giving me different options. When checking out the office manager, Susan, was very helpful in explaining how the insurance works with this procedure. I love the fact I can come here for all my dental needs, from my routine teeth cleaning to surgical procedures. 2 weeks ago I had 2 wisdom teeth removed. Last week, I had a follow up to remove my stitches. Today, I went in for my routine visit with the dental hygienist. We had a last minute cavity that needed to be addressed. I am so thankful that Dr. Spears was able to put me on the schedule today for the filing. The office staff and professional and courteous. Dr. Spear and his team have excellent bed side manners. After going to 4 dental offices these past 2 years, I can confidently say Dr. Spear goes above and beyond to answer any questions & concerns. He is the only dentist who will check up on his patients hours after wisdom teeth extractions to see if anything is out of the ordinary. Brenda was my dental hygienist. She did an amazingly thorough job. She did a more detailed cleaning than any other dental hygienist I've ever had. She is detailed oriented and explains everything to me along the way. I have been going to Dr. Spear for several years and have full confidence in him. He does not push unnecessary procedures, is very thorough and has a great staff. New to town, looking for new dentist. Couldn't get me in for 5 months due to Covid backup. They had a cancellation and I was able to get in four months earlier. Staff was very nice. They called my insurance before my appt and verified that I could get full set of X-rays. Melissa was wonderful. She was very kind and thorough. She measured my gum line and documented in chart and pointed out teeth that I needed to pay attention to. Loved my hygienist that I had for last 20 years, but she never did any of that. Really liking our new "drill master!" (Aka dentist) Dr Spear, Beth, Angela - the crew - are really helpful and accommodating. Backstory: Our family had the same dentist for nearly 20 years until poor knees required him to retire. Was so worried we would not be able to find someone as good as him but our sweet friend recommended Dr Spear & his team. So glad to have new dentist who understands how important a persons teeth are - physically, mentally, and emotionally. While that sounds a little much - until you've had tooth issues - it's hard to relate. Point is - he takes a proactive but conservative approach and gives you options. And one side note - he has a heart for service and gives of his time and talents to support our community. Can't get much better than that! My whole family will be going to him in the coming months and just for peace of mind - they are working hard to monitor all health aspects related to COVID19. I literally have had the worst experiences at Dentist offices. The Hygienists listen to you and go at your comfort level. They are mindful that not everyone likes the dentist. I recently visited Dr. Spears for multiple services including a cleaning, a filling, a crown, and a tooth extraction. Each was thoroughly described and a plan to deal with each was proposed and completed with great care. I was very comfortable with Dr. Spear as well as the staff. Everyone there is very friendly and professional. They went about their work with great care while ensuring that discomfort was kept to the absolute minimum. I had facial trauma from a motorcycle wreck nearly 40 years ago. Consequently, I've had a lot of dental work over the years so I'm a very "experienced customer". I can honestly say that I've been to some very good dentists but have yet to find one whose practice is any better than Dr. Spears. That applies to the entire experience from scheduling through follow-up. Their follow-up is the best I have ever experienced. I don't give many endorsements - but I have experienced enough services from Dr. Spear, as well as his entire staff, to say that they have earned my respect and my business for years to come.
