Great dentist, rude staff!!! The staff you encounter upon arrival were extremely rude and unhelpful.

A few issues: 1. They cut my face and tried to say it was because they pulled my lip too far out. Notice the placement and length of the cut. 2. It took them over a month to respond to my 5 messages about a question I had on my bill (more in 3) and a request to update my treatment plan 3. They charged me $731 for a root canal that my insurance had listed as $31. I would not have known to cross reference the insurance form with my dental bill had I not gone for a second opinion. 4. I had to go to an endodontist because they failed to provide me with treatment options and put a crown over a tooth that needed a root canal. I have had an extraordinarily negative experience here and would not recommend this office. read more

I should have read the reviews before making a dental appointment here. Is there a button for negative stars? Prior to this experience, I have never had a bad dentist and don't mind going to a dental appointment. I showed up to what I thought was going to be a routine cleaning, but instead had tons of X-rays done, unnecessary prodding, was treated rudely, and was scammed and told I needed to pay over $1,000 when my teeth are perfectly fine. First, they sat me down and started poking my teeth and had me do X-rays. I already had X-rays from my last dentist that I could have sent to them, but they didn't care. Anyways, I have been told before that I have a small mouth. The hygienist doing X-rays made a comment about that and that maybe she should switch out the device she was using, but then she said "we will make it work." She then stuck a too-big instrument in my mouth, and my eyes began to tear up from the pain. She then took out the instrument and did the same X-ray on the OTHER SIDE even after I said it hurt. Next, they had me move to a standing position to do X-rays in a different room. At this point I was making sure my insurance covered this and asking if it was necessary. They said it was covered and I was hopeful that they would get to the actual cleaning part of the appointment soon so I went along with it. Just to show how unprofessional the staff there is, I heard them gossiping about something and then they asked a question about what day it is or some question that I knew the answer to. I couldn't help it but chime in with the answer, and they started snickering and LAUGHING. "What is this poor girl doing; who is taking care of her?" they were part-asking and part-just making fun of me. SO RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. My hygienist finally returns and takes me back to the chair and I assume we are getting to the routine cleaning part! Instead, she has the dentist, (Krystal Moore seen on the papers below), come and look at my teeth. She talked to me like I was a child (I'm 22) about all the sealants and work I needed. I explained to her that I have only had 1 or 2 cavities in the past but have flossed and brushed regularly for the last year or so. I wasn't expecting any problems and was confused because even when I didn't floss regularly, no dentist ever treated me so poorly and said I needed that much work done. She made it sound that without a bunch of preventative work done, my teeth were going to fall out, shrugging off my claims about me brushing/flossing regularly as "no that doesn't help." SHE LITERALLY SAID THAT. She also said that I would need cosmetic work for a barely noticeable chip I have on my front tooth. She had the dental assistant write down almost every other tooth of mine as needing work. I trusted her so I just agreed at the time. She then said for me to go to the front to make my next appointment. Oh, and also she wrote me a prescription for a special toothpaste too. At the front desk, I get a copy of the dental work I need done... a total of ONE THOUSAND AND SEVENTY DOLLARS (Pictured below). I have NEVER before needed that much work on my teeth, and I usually take good care of them so I was more SHOCKED than anything. I tried to schedule my next dental appointment (one to ACTUALLY clean my teeth like I thought was going to happen this time) and they didn't have an appointment available for a long time (yet they were quick to have me come in for this scam of an appointment). What a WASTE OF TIME. At this point, I started crying. I have NEVER BEFORE CRIED AT A DENTIST OFFICE. Upon reflecting and talking to dentists and hygienists that me and my family know personally, they said that these dentists are without a doubt trying to scam people and that none of the work they wanted to do on me was necessary. In fact, one dental hygienist I spoke to said she only recommends sealants for cavity-prone CHILDREN and would have never recommended that for me. I was fortunate enough to realize I don't need all of this dental work and can find another dentist. However, not everyone has this option or the education to know when they are being taken advantage of. Especially since dentists' and doctors' are in a position of power and trust, it is far too easy for them to take advantage of people who have less. I really hope no one else goes here and gets taken advantage of like how I almost was. Hope this helps. My wife Karan and myself were privileged to have a hygiene appointment with the staff of Dr Marshall Brown....LeAnn was again fabulous according to Karan and I have always enjoyed getting my teeth cleaned as well. Addtionally, Erma (Dr Brown's assistant) was professional, timely, and great at answering any questions I had regarding an Implant which will replace an upper molar he had to extract a month or two ago. Lastly, and most important HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARSHALL!!!!! It is always strange for an older and retired dentist like myself to receive dental care but Dr Brown and his wonderful staff (including the front ladies, too) always make the experience if not wonderful yet definitely quick, personable, professional, and close to fun. I have never been kick out of my children dental treatment room before, but I was by the Dental Assistant today. I had questions about the 3000.00 dollar they were going to charge me for dental work on my child. Never got to speak to the dentist. I have never been treated so badly before at Dr. Brown's office. Dr Vern Cannon has been my Dentist for several year although we were out of pocket the last two because of my travels. Today I met up again with my Dentist at B. Marshall location and requested hid services via appointment. I walked into a great office and met with his outstanding employees who were extremely professional and assisted me with all paperwork and questions needed for the appointment. I then met with Dr. Cannon's assistant who was remarkable in all aspects of her profession. A few minutes later I was assisted by my Dentist who always does remarkably professional work. I was done with my appointment and met with Ms. Castaneda to discuss the financial paperwork. She is a very intelligent professional and is remarkably an outstanding person. We had an emergency dental appointment scheduled for today at 9am. We showed up and the door was bolted and no one was answering the phone.

Dr. Brown is awesome. Great office, professional staff and I didn't have to wait in the lobby forever like with most docs. What I really liked is his matter-of-fact, honest approach. He walked me through my options giving me pros and cons so I could make an educated decision that matched my budget and health goals. 5 Stars read more

Terrible office. The two stars are because the hygienists are good. Dr Cannon and the assistants and office staff do not know what they are doing. They gave my wife a crown she probably didn't really need and then broke the crown trying to install it. When she went back three weeks later to get the replacement put in they couldn't get it to fit so they filed down one of her other teeth which was perfectly healthy to make room for the crown. Dr Cannon said this was perfectly normal and she would never know the difference. Now that tooth, which was fine before, is really sensitive and will probably also need a crown. I wish we had never gone to this office. Also, one hygienist told me that two implants would cost $3600. When I stopped at the front desk on the way out to schedule implants the lady there kept saying $6300. When I told her the other lady said $3600, she said,"well that's for the implants, but then you need crowns to cover the implants. So your total is $6300." Apparently the person that quoted me the $3600 didn't think that was worth mentioning. read more

As far as Dr. Brown himself and the hygienists that work there go, I'm totally satisfied with my experience there. They are very nice people. However, the way the desk people run things (which I would assume is dictated by Dr. Brown) is nuts. As you leave, you would think you could make your next appointment for your biannual teeth cleaning. No, that would be too easy. They will give you a card that tells you the day that you may call (3 months from now) to make your appointment (6 months from now). Now maybe I am strange, but I find it difficult to remember to make a call three months from now. So what usually happens is I forget to call at my designated time and then I can't get in when it really is time. What a stupid system. Also, they make you wait when you get there (normal anywhere you go) but then, they make you WAIT TO PAY BEFORE YOU CAN LEAVE!!?? Yes. You're done, but you must go back and sit in the waiting area AGAIN and they call your name when they're ready to take your money. That's just stupid. Also, their hours are ridiculous. If you're a new patient, the latest they'll see you is 2pm. Wow. They close at 4:00!! Must be nice!!! Oh, and that's just M-Th. They close at NOON on Fridays. So I HAVE to take off from work to go to the dentist. I am a teacher so I have to get someone to cover half my day or I usually just end up having to call in a whole day. It really sucks. You can't go in early- they open at 8:00. Soooo inconsiderate of patients to keep these hours. People have nothing good to say on the google reviews either. I wish I could switch but stupid insurance... you know the deal. read more

Dr. Brown fixed my tooth painlessly. The hygienist, Leann was wonderful. Really nice people that are good at what they do.

PLEASE DO NOT GO!!!! He is the definition of a Sleazy Dentist. I went after reading multiple negative reviews about him, thinking oooo i am a lawyer he cannot screw me out of money, how wrong i was. I received a crown for my tooth and after 2 visits he kept aggressively trying to get me a root canal, when it was clearly not appropriate. Then i paid 518.00 in a contract for a crown, and after i get the crown his staff tells me i have to pay an additional 67.00$ dollars because their original numbers were an estimate. The receptionist was extremely rude when i had the audacity on questioning the bill. Many receptionists do not speak fluent English and when i received my crown I had the dental assistant literally doing all the work and Brown did nothing. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. This is a VERY unprofessional office. Both my sister and I showed up for our appointments and BOTH times we were told that our appointments were not that day. When I had to come back for my "correct appointment" I was told that my insurance covered my cavity that I had filled but then a month later I received a bill in the mail for my services. When I called the office to correct the mix up one of the extremely rude office ladies told me that I should have know my insurance had a waiting period for services of that kind. ALSO when my sisters filling came out they said that she was going to have to pay full price to replace it...that it was not their fault....way to stand by your services. I had a broken tooth and he repaired it. He was red-faced, sweating and running around from room to room. Using insurance I paid the same as I paid at a different dentist when I did not have insurance. My husband made an appointment for a cleaning. They took X-rays and then told him they were too behind to do the cleaning but charged us the regular copay anyway. We were very frustrated because he had taken off work. I called to express my feelings and the office manager was incredibly unprofessional. We were then told the soonest appointment they would have would be in 4 months. Behaving like a spiteful child. Incredible. And since they already billed the insurance for a visit and X-rays he cannot go elsewhere for a full office visit plus cleaning unless we want to pay out of pocket. They are basically holding us hostage for 4 months. The hygienists seem to be good at their jobs, but they're the only ones in the building who are worth the price of their scrubs. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE! Receptionists are incredibly rude and unprofessional...from hanging up on patients to refusing appointments and even as far as refusing to call patients by their legal name listed on documents. Hygienist are allowed to have their children dropped off and hanging around while you get teeth cleaned. So your visit may require you sitting and listening to the hygienist discuss her child with the babysitter/carpool driver. Hygienist and dentists are NOT on the same page and you will be told contradicting answers about your dental procedures and health. The office is always extremely cold and they use obnoxious perfume plug-ins in the cubicles that will leave you with head aches. Their equipment/x-ray machines often aren't working...professionally they should call the patient ahead of time before you go there...but they don't. If anything is broke, they wont tell you until you are there in the chair and have already waited 30minutes. The dentist spends all of five seconds talking to you and has even made judgement calls with out looking in the patients mouth! Despite the unprofessional employees the worst is the fact that the dentist himself doesn't listen, respect, or properly care for his patients. read more

I would avoid this practice. I went in knowing that I probably had periodontal disease but was not prepared for the extreme treatment that was recommended nor its costs. What really raised "red flags" was when the financial person made an offer to reduce the costs by 20% only if I agreed to it right then. I would not get that reduction if I waited 24 hours. Also, the paperwork did not show the specific deductions that my insurance provides. I was told those deductions had "already been applied" to the costs I was being shown. At no time did Dr. Brown or any of his associates inform me of any other viable options nor did anyone give me a thorough explanation of the extreme procedure (removing 80% of my teeth to be replaced with dentures). So I went to another dentist for a second opinion. Thank goodness as I wouldn't have most of my natural teeth today! And the costs were 50% less that the "reduced" rate. I do understand that different dentists will recommend different treatments and some procedures are more aggressive than others, however I do expect ethical professionals to inform clients of all viable options. And the financial documents presented just did not give the appearance of full accounting especially given the high pressure sales tactics. read more
