When asked if it was going to be full or partial color, I told her I wasn't sure what he wanted and hoped that speaking with the stylist we would figure it out then. The girl suggested I call my son and ask him and then call back to make my appointment. I asked what the reason was for needing to know prior to making an appointment ? I was told that they focus on time management and they wouldn't want to schedule as a full when he would get partial bc that leftover time could've been filled and vise versa if i scheduled a partial but decided on a full. She doubled down on me figuring it out with my son and then calling back so the appointment would align with their "time management". I brought up the possibility of my 15 yr old son changing his mind mid appointment after discussions with his stylist etc. wouldn't customer satisfaction be the focus in this situation ? What happens then? Does "time management" trump our appointment ? Do you send us away when the chance of interfering with next customers scheduled time comes into play ? I was offered a consultation appointment that would , unfortunately , yes, mean I'd have to come back another day for the actual service. I'm 35 years old I've dyed my hair 6 times 4 perms and countless cuts over the years at probably over a dozen salons. I've never experienced such difficulty just trying to make an appointment; Seemed like a red flag to me. Shame though because their photos of their color services was impressive. Story has a happy ending though : I was able to make an appointment at another salon in Ridgewood after hanging up. I said the same thing I did when I called here , there was no problem at all. My advice : when a salon is so focused on time management to the point you can't even make an appointment: go elsewhere. I'm thankful actually. At the beginning she asked if I wanted lashes, and I agreed. Towards the end of my appointment, she handed me the mirror to check on my makeup. I pointed out a few things, which she fixed and at that point, I was happy. When I went to pay, my artist mentioned to the person at the desk the lashes. And when they stated the price, it was $20 higher than I was originally anticipating per the pricing online. They asked if I wanted a receipt, I said yes to check it but they only handed me the credit card slip. I asked for the itemized receipt and the lashes were an extra $20. At no point did the makeup artist mention the up charge and I was a little taken aback. A friend of mine came in after and I mentioned the lashes to her and she opted out of them. I was frustrated as I literally had lashes in my purse while sitting in the makeup chair. I wish I had the option to pay the extra fee instead of not being warned. I mentioned I didn't get my makeup done often so this wasn't something I was expecting and it wasn't listed on their website that lashes were extra when booking. I was really disappointed as I felt like it was done secretive instead of being open with clients.

During the bleaching process, there wasn't much communication about what was being done or how my hair was reacting, which made me uneasy. The process itself felt careless, and afterward my hair was left feeling extremely dry, brittle, and damaged--far more than what I've experienced with professional bleaching before. The final result also didn't match what I asked for. The tone was uneven in certain areas, and overall it just didn't look professionally done. For something as harsh as bleach, I expected more attention to detail and better care for the health of my hair. I understand that bleaching can be damaging, but I went in expecting a level of expertise and care that just wasn't there. I wouldn't recommend this salon for bleaching services based on my experience.

I had my trial the same day as my second engagement shoot. Due to having to post pone my wedding a whole year because of COVID, I had to find a new MUA. Leia did an amazing job and did exactly what I asked for. I ended up having my hair styled by Krysten because logistically it was easier than driving back and forth for makeup and hair since I live almost 40 mins away from Pompton Plains. Krysten did a beautiful job of styling my hair with curls and giving me a simple braid in the back to keep my hair away from my face. I ended up coming back last week to get my makeup done and my hair curled for my birthday and they did an amazing job again. These ladies are truly the best at hyping you up and making you feel beautiful. Even when I first met them they were super welcoming and it never felt awkward. The salon itself is GORGEOUS. The decor is so nice and you can tell that everything is brand new. They sell a bunch of hair products and random cute gifts. I ended up buying these adorable macaron candles that I gifted myself for my birthday. I'd highly recommend anyone to give this salon a try. Oh and I almost forgot to mention the best part. I trust her opinion a lot- for good reason!! First and foremost their work is beautiful. They are highly skilled artists and worked literal magic with my hair and face. I did a trial before the big day with Krysten for hair and Cat for make up. I liked them so much I started going there for regular haircuts, too. So I'm on the shy side- but their caring, kind, yet honest approach ensured that I got exactly the kind of look I wanted! Instead of asking broad yes or no questions like "do you like this" or "what do you want," they had more targeted, specific questions (i.e. "for this portion of the eye do you want to go darker or lighter? Add a shimmer/less shimmer?"). This might seem like a small thing but it was actually EVERYTHING. Because this gave me the safe space to make decisions based on the vision in my head, all while using their professional expertise to get there. Throughout everything, I felt like they really were happy to be there with me. They were so welcoming and friendly, I felt right at home. This feeling was tenfold on the day of the wedding! I had 6 bridesmaids, my grandmother, mother, mother-in-law, and two year old niece all getting hair and make up in addition to myself. It was a completely chill girls hangout the morning of my wedding. The artists managed the widely varying hair styles, make up preferences, and personalities of my group like they were family.
