Third time visiting Asian Star and tonight everything was perfect. I advised the host that the past times my order wasn't correct. She assured me that my order will be taken care of. I was extremely happy to see that all my items were correct. I ordered Szechuan Beef and WOW!!!!...it was amazing. We have always liked the food and plan on more trips in the future. So when I arrived, I was not greeted but I walked up to the register and they told me to sit anywhere. After that, the cashier/waitress was nice. The food was good and they made it quick. Although the place needs some TLC. The restroom door was dirty, especially the lock and the door handle so I didn't want to grab them with my barehand. I would recommend it base on my first visit. read more

Not your typical small town Chinese restaurant - Asian Star is delightful for several reasons, first and foremost: The Food! Everything we have had in several visits has been utterly delicious. I tried the udon noodles stir fried with chicken and was blown away. Udon takes a good chef to prepare well and they do it. Seasonings are balanced and appropriate to the dish and the overall flavors were excellent. This is a family restaurant and every server we have had has been helpful, warm and willing to offer suggestions. The restaurant itself is sparkling clean and quiet with a mix for families and couples. They also so a booming carry out business. Don't worry about leaving still hungry, try the wonton egg drop soup (not a typo, it's egg drop soup with wontons) and the crab Rangoon for an appetizer then any entree that piques your interest, you will be very very happy! read more

What a pleasant surprise. We were traveling 40 East back to NWA and needed dinner. We did not not fast food. So after reading the Yelp reviews we decided to give it a try. We have been looking for good oriental food since we left Ohio. The you g lady who took our order was fantastic. We ordered it to go and the my husband changed his mind and decided to dine in. The young lady accommodated the change without blinking an eye. First off the food was hot!!! Heat hot not flavor hot. It was freshly made. My husband ordered the Sweet and sour chicken with Crab Rangoon and I ordered Mongolian Beef with an egg roll. The Crab Rangoon my husband said was the bomb. Soft but not soggy filling and the outside was perfectly fried. The Sweet and sour sauce was amazing. Perfectly balanced flavor that complimented the dish perfectly. The Mongolian Beef was cooked perfectly. The highlight of my meal was the pork fried rice. The egg roll was a nice compliment to the meal because it gave me an opportunity to enjoy the sweet and sour sauce. I am excited to say we loved the food. We live in NWA and I see trips to Sallisaw in the future to enjoy this oriental cuisine. Well done. read more

OMG You have to have the Udoon it's unbelievable. The staff is super attentive, they are amazing cooks. Everything is so flavorful and delicious. The crab Rangoon is massive and liberally filled, crunchy and amazing. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The Mongolian beef was on point, with a whole lot of well seasoned and marinated onion. AMAZING IS ALL I CAN SAY. IF YOU ARE READING THIS, PULL OFF HIGHWAY, AND GET EATEN! read more

We moved to Sallisaw from the DFW area so finding this gem was truly a dream come true. It's the best Chinese food we have eaten in over 10 years and there has been a lot of places we have tried. My husband and I both think this place is worth 5 stars and then some. Try the salt & pepper shrimp for a tasty treat, it is one of our favorites so far. read more

Decent meal in thr middle of the mid west. Priced appropriately, and service was good. Google map had the address on the west side of the highway behind the casino, but it's on the east near Walmart. read more

I have been enjoying this restaurant at least twice a week for the last two years. I find their food fresh, well-cooked, and aptly seasoned. They have a nice lunch / dinner combo menu that includes a choice of soup. I prefer the hot and sour soup because it it light and has cabbage, tofu, and mushrooms. My mother prefers the wonton soup. Wobtons are nade fresh daily and dropped into the broth when ordered so the don't sit and become soggy. I have experienced almost every menu item and haven't found anything I don't like. I am saddened Joshualyn had a bad experience. Asian Star is proud of their signature fried rice with chunks of bbq pork, grilled onion, carrots and peas that are visible in all other pics. Egg rolls or rangoons maybe be substituted for the soup for a small charge. And don't forget to try their private recipe sweet and sour sauce... it has banana in it. There are so few restaurants in the area that offer a simple , balanced meal. Just be patient as they are working as fast as they can. read more

I was traveling Memphis to OKC & stopped in Sallisaw off I-40 for lunch recently but really didn't want fast food. I saw some good reviews for this place and was not disappointed. There was nothing fabulous about my lunch special, but it was better than average. I had Hot-n-Sour Soup w/crunchy wontons, which was quite tasty, and General Tso's chicken with pork fried rice, both of which were delicious. The place was clean & cozy and the woman who served me was friendly and attentive. There are 10-12 tables & booths in the restaurant. My soup size was in between a cup & bowl and the lunch plate was a generous portion. Prices were very reasonable. I will definitely stop there again in my travels! read more

Food was cooked to order. I had it to go. I had to wait about 10 minutes but I just went to the dollar tree to waste time. Or you could go to Walmart it is across the street. Which if you are in rv or pulling a travel trailer you would have to park there. read more

Amazing food. Super fast. Handled a big group very well. Super well priced. Hot and sour soup was okay. Egg rolls were amazing. Edamame was a little cold when I got it but still good and well cooked. read more

I'm not sure why this place has lots of star ratings... it was probably the worst Asian place I have ever eaten at. There was hardly any of the main course ( beef and broccoli ) it was mainly rice. The meat was way under cooked. They forgot my sauce, no plastic wear, there was another guy in there complaining about his order that was messed up. The people were friendly and the place looked nice but the food was terrible. I will not be back in the future! read more

Stopped because we fancied a bit of Chinese food. Very reasonable prices. Lunch was $5.99 + tax for a main selection, pork fried rice and a small soup. Food was very North American style but tasty. The server was a very nice Asian lady and we were very satisfied with everything. Our bill came to $15.52 for 2 lunch specials and 1 Pepsi - 10% discount. Would stop in again. read more
