I've been getting massages here for the past year or so. I've had several different massage therapists and they have all been fantastic. Clean rooms, nice music, friendly staff and therapists....what more can you ask for!!! My two favorite therapists are Cici and Ana. Just got home from a massage and I feel great! read more

This review is long overdue as I have been using Asian Massage Spa for 2+ years and have come to know George and Rosa (the owners) well. I was a Massage Envy client for 10+ years and found the services lacking and the prices rising. That was why I tried Asian Massage Spa. And I am so happy that I did! First, like any service business, the quality will vary greatly depending on whom renders the service. That is just the nature of professional service in any industry. I am fairly demanding in my massage requirements due to a bad back and rotator cuff issues. Over the first few months using Asian Massage, I moved through all the different therapists to find the one that suited me best. I found the staff very friendly and professional. George weeds out poor performing therapists quickly, so the service levels stay high. I found the place very clean and have personally walked by rooms that are being transitioned between clients and seen all the linens being replaced. Like every Asian massage place I have been to, it is a little dark inside. This is to create a tranquil vibe, as I understand it. I hate bright lights, so it works for me. They only let you schedule appointments the day of the service. When I asked George, he said that to many people were forgetting to come and then became unhappy about being charged for the "no show". This made sense to me, and I started calling at 10:00 AM to book for that day. You do need to pay in advance when you arrive. This has never been an issue for me as I have always had a positive massage experience. I believe this may be to ensure that people end their massage and can leave. I always tip in cash at the end based on the service quality. All said, A wonderful business and many wonderful experiences with them over the years. Thank you, Asian Massage Spa! read more

I'm disgusted! When I made the appointment I specifically told I wanted my back and neck massaged not an ass massage!! She didn't know what the hell she was doing. She slathered my back with oil and proceeded to give me half ass massage and spent way too much time on my ass! No massage just rubbing. I was grossed out I finally told her to stop! NEVER AGAIN!!! I give it a zero star!! Waste of money!!! read more

So inexpensive and it might be the best massage I've ever received!! One thing I thought was strange was they made me pay w/tip before the massage. I never have cash so I had assume it was going to be decent. And it was AMAZING! read more

I was given Linda for a full body 60 minute massage, a happy coincidence. I asked for medium pressure, Swedish. Linda knew all the techniques and applied them just right. I was amazed how this young and lovely lady, not tall, had the strength to do a massage all the way through, back, front, feet, neck etc. She's obviously licensed. If you want someone who knows her stuff, ask for Linda. I noticed they have bars running across the ceiling. I've never had anybody walk on me, lol. I'm gutless to try it, but if I do, I'm sure Linda will be gentle. Besides she's petite. Another thing, even with limited English (native tongue - Mandarin), she's witty and smart if you're the kind that likes to comment or talk a bit. read more

Great service and friendly staff. Very client oriented. The foot detox is amazing! I couldn't believe the toxins that came out of my body!! Quiet and relaxing environment and they always provide water to keep you hydrated. read more

Nothing but the best. I have been a customer for over 2 months now and what can I say, I will keep coming back. Therapists are very knowledgeable and very skilled. My back has been bothering me for sometime now and getting a massage( concentrated on my back) really helps. Getting appointment is very easy as well, they usually have openings for any time of day. Thanks George. I will definitely be back. -Allan read more

This place is okay. My wife and I went here for a date foot massage. The communication is a little on the difficult side but that's okay. Instead we got a fully clothed neck, head, arm, leg and foot massage. We sat in their community room which was dark, and had a curtain with cleaning supplies behind it. The building itself is older, and not kept up. The massage itself was interesting, it seemed rushed, but was okay. The foot massage was probably the best part especially since that's what we were looking for. The use oils on your face and on the scalp, which makes you left feeling oily afterwards. Same day appointments available. read more

This Was my first time getting a professional massage and I must say, Amazing! I work out a lot, am usually always sore and never considered a massage but after being recommended to find a good place and get one, I found this place, well this was the first place I chose and glad I did, very professional and clean rooms, massage was deep to soft, exactly like I asked, it felt tranquil and definitely helped me rest well plus the prices are very reasonable. I'm definitely adding this into my self love self care routines! read more

Excellent massage at a very reasonable price! I will definitely be going back again soon!

Went to his massage parlor on 5/11/22. Yelp price is listed as $39.99 for $49.99/60min for Full Body Oil Massage. When I arrived, the gentleman asked me for payment. I told him I haven't had a massage yet. He said they collect payment first. He charged $62 and told me Yelp hasn't updated the price. The female massage therapist didn't speak good English. She didn't keep the sheet on me and I was exposed for a lot of the massage. She repeatedly touched my private parts during the massage. She asked for extra tip to keep touching my private parts. When I said no, she kept asking how much I was willing to pay. Think twice before coming here. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. read more

I was a little skeptical when I saw the place at first but I am glad to say that my experience has been nothing but excellent. The massage therapists give a good deep tissue massage and check in with you consistently to make sure the pressure is ok. I have been here twice and intend to keep coming back. I got the one hour full body massage which was about 40 bucks. I also like the fact that I can call in 30 mins ahead and still get an appointment. Pretty good service for the cost. Parking is easily available read more

My husband and I went here as a walk-in. We called ahead about 20 min. They got us right in. I had Anna. She is the best massage therapist I've had in a very long time. My whole body feels so relaxed! Highly recommended. Hubby had Rosa and he said she did a good deep tissue massage job! We were both very happy. We will be back. read more

Yesterday was the 2nd time in a month that I got a full body massage here. It was only $52 via credit card payment, as opposed to $15 to $20 more elsewhere (you can save $2 by paying cash.) I'm always treated like a VIP here with respect and care. Very nice owner, manager checks you in, and the staff are very kind and professional. My massage was done outside on the balcony inside a tent due to the current pandemic guidelines. Soft music played in the background, and I know I was massaged for a full HOUR if not more. Great service, and I felt fantastic after leaving. Destressed and relaxed... I'll return again, and highly recommend Asia Massage, Thank you!! read more

I've been going to Asian Massage for many years. The spa is clean, the prices are very reasonable, and the service is great.

First time here absolutely amazing Had a 90 min massage and it was everything that I hoped. People were nice and friendly and 90 min actually went 94 minutes so not gonna short you on time here. Spent a good amount of time on the feet and face. Loved it. Great massage! read more

I love this place. They provide a great massage, at the best price! And the best massage in Carlsbad!

Ok, so I love these pros. Each time I go in (and I go a couple times a month) I seem to get a different person with a whole new set of skills to use on me! So far I have never been disappointed. Actually I take that back. I'm always upset when the timer goes off because I could totally go for an extra hour!! Silly little thing happened today tho. I asked for acupuncture because it's on the brochure but no one understood me. Even when I pointed to the word and made hand gestures of needles jabbing in me. So instead they showed up with hot rocks. Hey whatever. I'll try those instead I guess. Felt pretty awesome actually. Next time I just hope I get someone who can understand me better so I can actually get acupuncture. read more

I've been coming to Asian Massage to get a quality, real deep tissue massage without paying a high spa massage. My massage therapist name Linda has been giving me the best ,therapeutic massage . She really takes her time to make sure that i have the best massage experience. There is a language barrier but she insure you that it feels good and your comfortable. I am a member of Massage Envy and Total Woman's Spa and i enjoy this Asian deep tissue massage compare to all this high price massage spa. Definitely recommended to everyone that is looking for a real massage. read more

Decent massage but I got burned pretty bad when the massage therapist applied a hot towel right out of the towel warmer in one spot on my shoulder without wiping off the massage oil. Like burning the roof of your mouth with pizza right out of the oven except it's someone else doing it to you. The owner, George said it'd never happened before and asked if I've been in the sun. It's 12/29/15 and been rainy for 2 weeks. Then he told me to go get vitamin E cream from CVS to put on it and he'd pay me back, but suggested I pay full price for the massage for the therapist's time. This really took me a back as I was showing them the burn they'd just given me and suggested he should refund the $ my wife had spent on the gift certificate since I was leaving worse off then I'd walked in- an opportunity George did not take me up on. read more

I called yesterday to make an appointment for a couples Valentine's Day Massage because I saw a coupon for only $79.99 for an hour each person. Unfortunately, I was told that they wouldn't take a reservation and to walk-in. Are you kidding? On Valentine's Day? No thanks. As a surprise, I was not willing to do that on probably one of the busiest days of the year. I just couldn't take the risk of showing up and having to wait or not be able to be seen. The person on the phone was also very difficult to understand and I kept trying to ask questions, but was answered irritably and almost rudely, rushing me off the phone. I wanted to give them a chance but needless to say, I've taken my business elsewhere, even though I'm paying more. It's worth having better customer service to me. read more

I was looking to get my back worked on, so I came here. I have been here before. The massage was great and the owner guy, George is nice. however, I was told my the girl giving me my massage that I need to tip a minimum of $10, but she needs $15 for 1 hours work. Everywhere I go, I give a minimum of $15% and sometimes up to 25%. I usually give her $7-8 on a $40 massage. Am I missing something? Do I give more here? Is that the norm? Anyhow, I told the owner that I was told to tip minimum of $10. He was indifferent and said to pay whatever I wanted, but then i may not get a good massage next time. Guess I need to find a new place!!!! read more

This was my fist time getting a massage at this spa. I got a full body-hour massage. The women working there were very polite and nice. I called to schedule an appointment, and they could see me right away which was convenient! However, the massage itself was disappointing. The masseuse didn't even close the door for me to undress, which was an interesting start. And in the nicest way possible, it seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. She used her knuckles a lot, applied way to much pressure under my shoulder blades, and rubbed my knee caps (really uncomfortable). My entire shoulders and back were sore the next day. I wouldn't go back. read more

My husband and I came here recently while we were on a "mini getaway" to San Diego/Carlsbad. We were feeling stressed and decided to go for a massage in Carlsbad -- decided to do a last minute Yelp check to direct us somewhere good. We called in, and the owner of the place seemed pretty friendly; we asked for the prices for reflexology. He gave us the price of $29/hr, & said it was totally fine if we did a "walk in" at any time. It wasn't until we arrived that they had us wait for a while in the front. After that, he showed us the "menu". As mentioned previously, we were going to opt for the $29/per hour with reflexology. That was when they tried to co-erce us to get the $40+/hour ones because of the fact that they didn't have TWO people to work on us for the $29/per hour at the same time. He used that for his advantage to "make more" per hour from us. I felt it was very unprofessional. My husband and I decided to stand our ground for the $29/hr that we had spoke to him about on the phone and he had us wait another 15 mins. No problem, as long as we can get the massage together. How anti-climatic would it be to go on vacation and not be able to have a couples massage TOGETHER? Anywho - the massage came and went. It wasn't bad; but then it wasn't really worth the price either I thought. I've had way better massages for less than what they charge. Probably won't be back. read more

I called about 8:35 and asked if I got there in 20 minutes if I could get a massage and was told yes. Despite that they close at 10:00, she was very pleasant knowing someone was coming right before they would take the last person before closing. I asked for medium pressure and that's just what I got. Not too hard or soft and just relaxing enough to fall asleep towards the end. I really needed a relaxing massage after rolling my ankle and having lower back pain earlier in the day. Perfect way to end my day. read more

Honestly went today and enjoyed my experience very much . You definitely get every minute you pay for, with great prices . In the beginning They ask what pressure you would like I went with medium and it was amazing. If you want a massage for reasonable prices I definitely recommend. There english isn't the best but that doesn't create any problem . High recommendation on a treat yourself kind of day. read more

This place has bed bugs. I will not be returning and hopefully no other customers will. How do you give a dry massage? I don't care how little time you have. If you are a " masseuse" you know friction is uncomfortable but you aren't one. You don't even work there. read more

Excellent massage and overall decor. The therapist used a great amount of pressure with out strictly using knees and elbows for pressure. Her tactile pressure was excellent. The reason for the 4 Star was they didn't change the sheets and make it a little cleaner. Why not just wash them between each session. It would be nicer. read more

This place is AWESOME!! I have been coming here for years. Language is challenging, but manager will readily translate for you! Ladies walk on your back and use elbows and hands. They work VERY hard to give you the best massage. I've gone to other places and high-end hotels and these ladies are on par with the highest hotels. They constantly ask if too hard or too soft. They are very professional and show respect and courtesy. The place is clean and sanitary. I've had couples and single massages there. Never a complaint from anyone I have taken there. My guests LOVE this place! read more

Very interesting experience- was rushed in which was okay , but they had a promotion saying free hot stones added to the hour massage and I never received that part of the massage. The massage itself was not very relaxing, I typically enjoy deep tissue massage but this woman was fast , rougj and grabby, at one point she mounted the bed and used her knees on my back which was not pleasant. She left me exposed on the table - pulling the sheet all the way off so that my naked body was left exposed, she even tugged on the string to my "feminine product" I had in at the time. Also stuck her fingers inside my ears to massage - VERY WEIRD EXPERIENCE over all. Woman hovered over me and kept trying to "peak" in my wallet to see what I was going tip her when it came time for payment. I didn't even want to tip bUt felt obligated read more

I received an awesome massage today at a great price. The atmosphere was extremely relaxing , courteous and clean. The prices are great. I'm new in the area and last week I stopped in and got a $40 massage. The girl I had was sweet and worked very hard to give me a good massage. Checking in with me on pressure off and on. She was not a seasoned veteran but still did a good job the staff are very friendly and seem concerned to make you happy and everything was very professional. $40 well spent. Today I returned but made an appt ahead of time. I had Lisa and she to was very sweet and friendly. Lisa seemed to know more and I'm sure she has been given a bit more training. Another $40 well spent, thank you Lisa I really enjoyed the massage. These girls work very hard for their money and most of them rely on tips. If you get a good massage you should tip well and the fact that this place only charges $40 it's a crime not to pay more than a normal tip for a good massage. I had been paying $60 to $80 for the same Quality of massage elsewhere plus tip. These girls I tipped each of them $20 an still felt I got a better deal than where I was going before. Thank you, Stephen read more

We decided to give this place a try since we were in the area. Upset that we did. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a lady who seemed very nice. She asked us how long of a massage we wanted, then brought us back to a room for a couples massage. We walked down a hall, into a larger room that looked to be where the foot massage recliners were. The couples massage "room" was a bit strange. Instead of a wall and door, there was just a light material or bed sheet hanging from the ceiling with a slit in the middle to enter and exit. This means, you can hear everything that's going in the "room" next to it and in the foot massage area. You would think that you should be in an actual enclosed room if you need to undress for the massage. Anyway, we were still OK with giving them a try. So, we got undressed, onto the massage table face down, and cover ourselves with a small, extremely thin sheet. A minute later, a man comes over to ask if we had an appointment. We let him know that we did not have one. He continues to say that there were actually 3 people ahead of us and asks if we wanted to go into another room to sleep for an hour or to come back. We replied with a "No thank you" and had to wait until he walked away before we could get up and get re-dressed. The nice lady apologized to us as we walked out. And, the guy handed us their business card to call for an appointment in the future. We ended up throwing the card away. We definitely won't be going back there ever again. Everything seemed so unprofessional and unorganized. read more

I've been to many massage spas and this one is the best very professional and good quite place and very relaxing

Last night I experienced my first ever "proper" massage with Yvonne. She was fantastic - clearly very passionate about her profession. Not only did I experience a wonderful massage but she also gave me a lot of advice to help me the main issue around my posture (I was experiencing some back pain due to my desk job). I live in London so unfortunately cannot become a regular client, however if I was to return to Carlsbad I would definitely book again. Thoroughly recommended! read more

I can't even tell you how happy I am with the massage I just received. I think the key to the optimal massage is asking for specific areas. I don't know if they sell packages but I'm in if they do. Please still expect thin sheets, no heated blankets and some questionable decor, all very small things when you get a massage like this! Very pleased! read more
