Was looking for a new Chinese restaurant that wasn't as far as the Yummy House, and one that I could frequent without being disappointed so often as I usually am with the places near my house. I got the Hibachi Chicken and vegetables, which was pretty tasty, an order of Chicken Fried Rice with extra eggs (okay, my only gripe here, as I paid extra for the additional eggs, and I could barely find any at all), and a few egg rolls, as I knew my kids would want one each to try. Overall everything was pretty tasty, and the portions were pretty good sized, which is all important for the next day leftovers. Again, not my favorite in the Tampa Bay Area, but worth the visit. Another benefit I must mention, you can order everything online instead of worrying about your order getting lost in translation (although take note of the $1.25 "convenience fee" they add in there, not sure why). This is primarily a take out place, with 3 or 4 tables for eating in. This was my first experience here, and I stopped in during lunch time. The staff was very friendly, though seemed overly preoccupied with their cell phone texting. I ordered the Hunan Chicken, which came with chicken fried rice and an egg roll. To my taste, the chicken in the Hunan Chicken was under cooked. The egg roll was either a vegetable egg roll or pork egg roll with a few micro-grams of pork (the menu just said egg roll). As with most Chinese restaurants, the quality of the food is a function of the chef that is working at that moment. Since there are many other highly rated reviews, I might try stopping back during the evening for take out to see if there is any difference. read more

I got the General Tsao chicken combo and an order of the cream cheese crab ragoons. My husband got the kung pao chicken combo. Both combos came with chicken fried rice and a spring roll or can of soda. Both meals were flavorful but the household favorite was definitely the General Tsao chicken! The cream cheese ragoons were nicely stuffed and perfectly crispy on the outside. We will definitely be ordering take out from here again and trying some of their other menu items! After the reviews I read, we tried this restaurant. I asked for extra water chestnuts in my vegetable lo mein. They told me no. My husband ordered the General Tso's chicken. The sauce and rice were great- The chicken was awful and full of gristle. We had decided to eat in, but there were 3 small children in there playing loudly with toys strewn all over the eat in area.We don't mind kids- we have 6- but public place where food is being served isn't the area for play. Asian Kitchen Valrico Former fan. My wife and I are snowbirds having returned from up north after 4 mos. What a disappointment. This used to be a good takeout restaurant. But now, after being away it has declined into just another second-rate Asian take out. They still can't get the orders right. They continually forget items. Ordered sweet-sour chicken - forgot the sweet-sour sauce. I've told them several times about the "whole" they have in their system yet they would rather inconvenience their customers rather than create a checklist system that would prevent this from happening. Now to the real problem - the food. We ordered Chinese vegetables. Inedible. Although their chicken dumplings are good this place is no longer a "good" restaurant, overall. What is it about Chinese takeout places in Florida? They are, for the most part mediocre, and that's being kind. For us, we will continue to look for another local Chinese restaurant. read more

My family & I have been eating here since it opened up & every dish we've tried has been delicious. This restaurant is a small place & is tucked away in the Publix plaza in Valrico, but its a great place to go if is just the two of you, getting take-out for a movie-night or a huge group of people, because everything is prepared fresh & to order. They offer lunch specials everyday until 3/3:30 that come with rice and an egg roll & they run specials all the time making it easy to try new dishes that perhaps you would overlook written on a menu. The Hibachi items are better than any expensive restaurant in Tampa & we have never tried anything that wasn't good. But some of our favorite items are the Triple Delight, The Shrimp Lo Mein & the Hibachi Steak & Chicken. This is a new place in the Publix plaza. My parents and I go to Chinese place was china Fuji right up the road in the sweet bay plaza. Decided to try the Asian Kitchen and it blows china Fuji out of the water! Everything is made to order. The menu seems to have more unique items than other Chinese restaurants. My wife and I had lunch at Asian Kitchen today. We went there after reading the good reviews on Yelp while we were in the area. We both had the General Tso's Chicken lunch special. It is my favorite dish in Chinese restaurants, so I always order it when visiting for the first time. It was fairly crispy, the way I like it, but could have had a bit more zip to it for my taste. I have tried a couple of Chinese food take-out places since I moved here in August, but hadn't found any that I wanted to make a return visit to. Although it was a bit of a drive, I've found a place that I love with good, affordable food. I had hibachi steak with vegetables and chicken fried rice - on special for under $9. It was good, I had enough food for 2 hearty meals, and best of all (for me at least) it wasn't salty. It was very busy on a Friday night with walk-ins such as myself, people who had called in their orders, and a couple who sent in orders online. It's clean, the people are nice, and it was just a great all-around experience. I got used to having good, inexpensive Chinese food while living in NYC; now I have the same thing in Brandon. The next time I want Chinese food, I will drive past 7 other restaurants and go to Asian Kitchen; it's worth it! read more

I have ordered from Asian Kitchen several times in the past and have always been very satisfied. Not last night. I ordered $60 worth of food (chicken fried rice, chicken lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, hibachi steak and shrimp, hibachi steak and the bourbon chicken) and it was all tasteless and the shrimp was old and mushy. I'm not sure what happened, if they changed management/owners, but I don't think I will be going back there. Very disappointed. read more
