Menu - the Chow Mein clearly says "dry noodle"

Usually this place is great, but only if you order something that you've ordered before. Today I wanted something different and ordered Chow Mein, and I got this abomination of a soupy mess that didn't even have a noodle in it...it came with rice. Wtf?? Call it whatever you want, but don't make the description "dry noodle" and then serve this mess.

String Bean w/ Chicken Szechuan Sauce - Delicious!

Service is Everything!!! Stopped in last night for dinner but the last time I was here was probably a year ago. Not for any other reason than I just haven't been. So why do I make the point of saying this?? Because my girl Nina!! Not only did she remember my first choice dish but the second choice as well. She proceeded to rattle off my entire party's favorite dishes like we had just been there yesterday!! Well that's damn impressive in my book. I settled on my favorite first choice of Chicken and String Beans, extra spicy, my friend had Pad Thai. The food always comes out fast and delicious! Nina made sure we had everything we needed as always. The prices are very reasonable and the food is very good, there hasn't been anything on the menu I've tried that I didn't like and the service is amazing. Ask for Nina, she's always on point. The crispy beef is awesome as well.

Thai spicy garlic chicken and shrimp with brown rice

Place is clean, and service was prompt. The food was just ok. Probably didn't help that i recently went to an incredible Thai restaurant and got the same thing...so the comparison was fresh. I went with the Thai spicy garlic chicken and shrimp. Not too much spice to be found, but ordering the extra red peppers helped with that. The sauce was a bit sweet for me - and I'm typically a fan of sweet and spicy. Just didn't seem to fit here. The portions were generous. The shrimp were also a good size. I prob wouldn't get that again though. Not a bad place, just not great either.

Well, as I was eating my shrimp fried rice and it was very good until I bite down on a hard piece of plastic or something and almost broke my tooth!!!

In the past this was my preferred Chinese food restaurant in Owings Mills, unfortunately my most recent visit was not as good as I'd hope for. My go to is the crispy beef (the soup choices are great when under the weather). I placed my order on the phone and arrived about 10 mins after ordering. My food was bagged when I arrived so I make the assumption it's just finished being prepared. I live roughly 5-7 mins away. Hungry, I wash up and prepared to eat within mins of arriving home. The rice, perfectly cooked. The beef was neither crispy nor as enjoyable as I remember (soggy and awfully sweet). This was my first meal of a long day so I eat until full. Preparing for an early day the following morning, I head to bed and about four hours later I wake with a horribly upset stomach. I don't know for sure if the food made me ill, but since is was the only meal I had it will probably take me awhile to forget this experience and want to return.

I am in town for business, craving some Pad Thai. This was the closest place I found. It has ok reviews, decided it would be worth trying. I can say it is the first time I've tasted mainly lemon. The sauce was watery and strong lemon taste. Not the usual dark peanut sauce I am use to. So I can say I've tried.

So i unraveled a piece of plastic in my food after ordering thai spicy garlic chicken meal. The way the plastic was twisted up it looked like a sliced vegatable or onion. Ended up chewing on it than examining it and its a piece of plastic. I feel like this was planted in my food to blend in. I will never eat at an Asian owned restaurant ever again. Seem to only have these issues ordering Chinese food.

The place is quaint, food was prepared quickly to ordered & very fresh. I had the Vegan General Tso's Chicken & my daughter had the regular one. The server delivered the food & said, "Here's the fake one & here's the real one"...classic LOL. Prices were outstanding with great portions for take home...Rockville here we come.

Started out with the Crab Rangoon which was crunchy and crispy, filled with the Rangoon. The neighborhood bird was voted best chicken sandwich in Baltimore and I can see why. The sandwich is on a steam bun which had a sweetness to it. The chicken thigh is large and filling, seasoned well and goes well with the mayo, pickles and herbs. The crispy shrimp bowl came with fried shrimp lying on a bed of basmati rice, some pickled vegetables and herbs. Definitely have to mix all your ingredients together to get the maximum flavor. My friend and I split the cost since we were planning on having a second lunch after this lol. The sandwich is a crab cake + softshell crab on a very soft bao bun. It was pretty good but it was alittle lukewarm since we were late for our pick up (so our bad). Very good sandwich with delectable flavors with the crab cake full of meat and the crunchiness of the softshell crab. Pretty solid sandwich! Im not sure if its worth the price point but I appreciated as is.

Full disclosure, I was looking forward to dim sum, and I thought it was just okay. My friend is pescetarian and there were not many options for him - mostly meat, one or two seafood options, and virtually nothing vegetable (I'm used to at least a Chinese Broccoli with oyster sauce option). In fairness, their standard menu had some of those, but they were clearly a large serving size meant for a family. It was also a little confusing - they gave us one dim sum menu (and only one, even after we asked for a second one to look over; it wasn't super crowded and they could've spared one), but our waitress came by one time and only one time with a cart. So, was this place supposed to be cart service, or ordering a la carte (no pun intended)? It just made the decision process a little clunky. Of the dim sum I got, the pork shu mai was probably best. Standard, but not bad nor extraordinary. The chiar siu pork buns were tasty, but way too doughy. My friend got the shrimp Pad Thai. We had to check a couple times with the waitress to make sure that there was no non-seafood meats. Ultimately, he ordered it and he was impressed with just how much shrimp it came with. Overall, not too bad. Our waitress was very friendly, but spotty in her timing. The prices weren't bad. It was overall okay, but since I don't live in the area and know of better dim sum places, I probably won't be back.

One of the more annoying aspects is when anyone had a birthday they would make a big loud celebration of it and it was really distracting. The meats are tasty when you cook them at the grill but again this is not my style of eating out when I go to eat out I want to relax and not have to cook There's plenty of parking in the street. One of the highlights of the night was meeting the owner, Jason. We bonded over our shared Cantonese backgrounds and even got to meet his aunt, who was visiting from California and happened to be sitting next to us. It made the whole experience feel incredibly welcoming and personal. If you visit, definitely grab a seat at the bar. The bartenders are friendly, engaging, and really add to the experience. Instead of masking everything with sugary juices, they use extracts and creative techniques to build balanced drinks that complement the flavors beautifully. Jason also mentioned that their cocktail specials change every month, so we already told him we'll be back regularly to see what new creations he comes up with.

We were seated immediately in a booth that comfortably fit our party of seven. The atmosphere was relaxed, quiet, and welcoming, which made it easy to enjoy dinner and conversation. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. We ordered our drinks, and they were at the table in what felt like less than 30 seconds. It honestly seemed like our server turned around after taking the order and another staff member was already coming around the corner with our drinks. I ordered the whole bone in soy garlic fried chicken, which came with a fresh salad. The chicken was everything Korean fried chicken should be. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The soy garlic glaze was absolutely incredible. It had the perfect balance of sweet and savory while still letting the crunch of the chicken come through. The rest of our table ordered two curry chicken rice bowls, a spicy chicken rice bowl, pork soft tofu soup, the Kongbination, plus edamame and fried dumplings to share. Every dish that came to the table looked photo worthy. The presentation was outstanding, and the food tasted every bit as good as it looked. One thing that really stood out was the portion sizes. Kong Pocha definitely doesn't skimp on food. Every plate and bowl was generously portioned, and almost everyone left with leftovers to enjoy the next day. The only small downside was the beer prices. Around $11 for a Sapporo and $7 for an Asahi felt a little high, but honestly, the quality of the food, the generous portions, and the overall experience more than made up for it. Parking was easy during our visit. The shopping center has a decent sized lot, although I could see it getting a little tight if all of the neighboring businesses were busy. It wasn't an issue for us. Whether you're a longtime fan of Korean food or trying it for the first time, Kong Pocha is a great choice. It's perfect for families, groups, date nights, or anyone looking for authentic Korean food with generous portions and excellent service.
