We have gotten take out from here a couple times now and have eaten in person once. The food has always been really good traditional Chinese and it's the best in Greenville in my opinion. Dang! We're almost ALWAYS disappointed in Chinese takeout, and so we try new places with trepidation. We just got to this area a few days ago, and the reviews were good here. I had the tofu with Szechuan sauce and got three meals out of it! Delicious and flavorful each time. Hubs had the chicken fried rice and wanton soup. He rarely raves, but he did say he'd eat it again, so that's a five in his book. read more

lol the food isn't great. It's not terrible but it's not anything special. The reason they get 1star? Because they tipped themselves. I payed the price of my food and crossed out the tip. Why? Because my food was to go so there wasn't a server involved for me to tip. The people in the kitchen and cashier all get a standard pay and don't get the tips. So tip would be going to the owner. I'm not for that. I'll tip wait staff sure but that's it. 24/h later my account updates the amount. Who ever processed my card just added a tip without telling me. This is illegal by the way. It's a kind of theft. Now I was not given a receipt, was not even offered one. So all I have is my bank statement and word against this entire place of business. I'm not getting that tip back. Such a wonderful place! I've heard great things about this place and decided to get some food to go. They were super friendly and my food didn't take long at all. My first order was house lo mein, chicken and broccoli, and hot and sour soup. All were delicious and came piping hot. Very filling with generous portions. I can always count on this place for cheap, yummy Chinese food. I always either get the small beef lo mein or the small beef fried rice, which is especially delicious with their white sauce. Both costs less than $6 and I leave feeling stuffed! I've gotten hibachi teriyaki and it cost around $7-$8. Juicy chicken and they don't overcook their vegetables which many takeout places do. I had a late lunch take out from Asian Kitchen today around 2:30pm. It was the closest Chinese restaurant from my hotel and the Yelp rating was not bad at all. So I tried and I actually liked it. I had fried tofu with vegetables and steamed white rice to go. The fried tofu with veggies had a lot of deliciously flavored veggies and tofu (oh I ordered a large) and the white rice was very moist and tasty by itself. This has become our go to mainstay for carry out Chinese. It is very good, very quick and comfort food. We like the Happy Family, the Orange Chicken and the Pork Lo Mein. Usually I order using the BeyondMenu app on my phone and incredibly it is ready within 15 minutes. This may appear as China Kitchen as the name was changed a couple of years ago. It is not gourmet food, but it is excellent comfort food that usually can feed my family twice for about $45. We love our Chinese food leftovers. The only real downside here is that when you order anything "spicy" it is not spicy. Then you order with the comments "make this really spicy, like a 7 out of 10", it is not spicy. The BeyondMenu app has a requirement for entering the level of spiciness on certain menu items such as Orange Chicken or General Tso's Chicken. That is completely ignored. I really need to stop procrastinating my reviews for months at a time. For future reference to those who follow my musings, please go forward with the assumption that when I check into a business and do not review. All was well! If something is horrible I will be sure to let you know. Having said that, Asian Kitchen quickly became one of my favorite local Asian spots, I have been nursing a 3-month long Chinese food craving, one of the longest I have ever heard of for any food category, especially one which I detested for a significant portion of my youth and early adulthood. Tastes change. But the food at Asian Kitchen is flavorful and the lunch specials are a great deal. After a few weeks of daily ordering I was able to try a significant number of dishes ranging from teriyaki chicken to Kung Po, cashew chicken, sweet & sour and more. Everything was great and the woman taking and checking out the orders is very friendly and appreciative of regulars. In addition to Min Hibachi down the road, Asian Kitchen is a must-try in the Pelham Road area, but beware: you may become an addict like I did! My hubby and I go to this spot quite often as we live close and who doesn't love take out?! Typically we call in an order and in 10 minutes go pick it up. It is always correct and taste so delicious. Everything taste like it JUST came out of the kitchen. Nothing tastes old or like it has been sitting. You can even watch them make your food right at the counter if you want too. They package it well and are considerate about sauces and utensils. The prices I feel are more than fair. I can go and spend roughly $35 and have left overs for the whole family's lunch tomorrow after stuffing our faces the night before. 10/10 recommend for that take out and movie night kind of day!! read more

Shrimp egg roll was mostly cabbage, fried pork dumplings were okay and they did give you vinegar rather than some sweet plum like sauce that other places have so that was a plus. It's been rather difficult to find good Chinese/Asian food in Greenville. How lucky I am now to have TWO fantastic restaurants within a mile of each other and on the same road! We found KOI last year for upscale Thai food which is absolutely out of this world. Now, with Asian Kitchen, we have wonderful and delicious take out food or can sit in the small casual dining area. We ordered sweet chili wings (so good), Szechuan Chicken (flavors galore), shrimp Mei Fun (tasty as all get out), and General Tao's chicken (not exactly sure the difference between "Tao's" and "Tso's). This food was jam packed with flavor, had an abundance of extremely fresh tender vegetables, and packed the right amount of savory heat. The sauces were out of this world and everything was made fresh. Even the hand rolled egg rolls! The chicken was buttery and tender with zero fat bits and no sinewy pieces which are unpleasant. The shrimp was new and had the perfect "bite" to them. Also, these meals came with beautiful sticky rice and fried rice which was aromatic and jam packed with ingredients and flavor. That being said, I am sure there are OTHER options locally to choose from besides this place.
