This place just opened. It is like the first Chinese Buffet that I've seen since COVID that hit the industry pretty hard. The food was not bad. I really should have tried the Mongolian Grill but.was really not up for that. Place seemed like it wasn't ready yet. They half blowie waving dancing straw men to welcome you into the establishment. A few guys and myself did get attached by them. We wanted to give it a chance.

This Buffett is triple platinum lip popping. I popped my lip after every bite. Best buffet I've ever gone to.

Galpão Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse - Food Review 4.6 / 5…read moreStars If you're looking for an authentic Brazilian steakhouse experience in Charleston, Galpão Gaucho delivers a premium, meat-forward dining experience that leans heavily into quality, variety, and attentive service. The Experience From the moment you sit down, the pace is noticeable--in a good way. Service is fast and efficient, with gauchos consistently rotating through the dining room offering a wide selection of fire-roasted meats. The rhythm of service keeps your plate full without feeling rushed, which is exactly what you want in a traditional Brazilian steakhouse setting. Food Quality & Selection The highlight here is undeniably the extensive variety of meats. From classic cuts like picanha to a range of seasoned beef, chicken, and pork options, there's no shortage of choices. Each cut is carved tableside and served fresh off the skewer, giving you that authentic churrascaria feel. The salad and vegetable bar is impressively large, offering everything from fresh greens and roasted vegetables to cheeses and cold cuts. It's not just filler--it's actually well-stocked and thoughtfully prepared, making it easy to balance out the heavier meat options (if you have the discipline). What Stands Out Fast, continuous service - you're never waiting long for the next cut Wide variety of meats - something for every preference Large, well-rounded salad bar - more than just an afterthought Attentive staff - consistent with what you'd expect from a high-end Brazilian steakhouse Where It Falls Short Salt level can be a bit heavy on some meats, which may not suit everyone Price point (~$85 per person) puts it firmly in the premium dining category Parking is limited, though nearby parking decks make it manageable with a short walk Final Verdict Galpão Gaucho is a solid choice for a high-end dining experience in Charleston, especially if you're going in hungry and want to indulge. While the seasoning can occasionally lean too salty and the price isn't light, the overall experience--driven by quality meats, variety, and strong service--makes it worth it for a special occasion or a serious night out. Best for: Date nights, celebrations, business dinners, or anyone wanting a true Brazilian steakhouse experience without compromise.

I personally think this is the best Chinese buffet in Charleston. There wasn't a dish that I tried that I didn't like! The food overall was great quality for a buffet and they had a good selection. I enjoyed their Mongolian bar (you pick raw ingredients and they cook it for you), their chicken wings, General Tao's, soups (egg drop and hot and sour), seafood broil (crawfish with mussels and corn), noodles, and shrimp with veggies. Their sushi was okay, there were 5 rolls and 3 types of sushi with rice available. For dessert there's soft serve ice cream, fruits, small cakes, and jello that were tasty. The service was average and as expected for a buffet.

I tipped the hibachi guy a couple bucks to make more but he was the only guy back there. He tried making the rolls but was interrupted every few minutes by someone wanting hibachi so I got my sushi around 3:15. My appetite had disappeared for the most but I finished my plate. The salad bar was missing alot of stuff too. The staff was sitting in the back eating their own lunch and talking They got up to clear a table. The staff should eat before opening the restaurant and right before the dinner crowd comes

We were actually asked if we would be willing to sit at a table with others. We did not mind. Unfortunately they were out of shrimp and catfish and my wife was wanting shrimp and grits. Our son ordered the Hog Dog, (hot dog with pulled pork) my wife ordered the Fat Boy burger, and I ordered the country fried steak. Their order came with fries and I ordered mashed potatoes and coleslaw with my dinner. Hush puppies and a corn muffin came with my meal. It took about 25-30 minutes for our meal to arrive. My dinner was delicious. Country fried steak was tender and crispy. Mashed potatoes had chunks which I like, the coleslaw was creamy with great taste, hush puppies were fantastic, and the only disappointment was the corn muffin was not warm. My wife loved her burger. Our son enjoyed the hog dog. Service was adequate. For me considering that the food was cooked to,order, I was quite satisfied with the service and the food.

Stopped in here for dinner after doing a little bar hopping and checking out downtown Charleston…read more After looking over the menu and the recommendations of our server, I settled on the Carolina Platter. The platter consist of steamed snow crab legs, a crab cake, grilled shrimp with collard greens and grits. The seafood on the platter was all correctly prepared and delicious. The collards and grits were good but otherwise unremarkable. The service was outstanding and our server was pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating. Overall, I would recommend the Charleston Crab House and I would return when visiting the area.

The food is somewhat bland (out of 4 of us, one actually liked their meal while the rest of us were underwhelmed). Pros: location, easy to get seated, prices are decent (for DT Charleston) wait staff was good, drinks were good. Cons: primarily the food was bland. The host station was not running at its best either. We had a reservation and they told us they were "working on our table," and we should wait "under the stairs." Apparently "under the stairs" is also where they store napkins and supplies. We looked to our right and saw 3 empty and clean tables. After about 5 minutes of standing under the stairs, they sat us at one of those tables, which had not required any extra "getting ready." Just didn't sit well ( or stand well) with me.

My favorite restaurant in Charleston…read more I get the bbq but can't wait to try the hot pot. The price is fantastic considering I focus on proteins and don't fill up on rice. The bulgogi is fantastic, the sauce selection is huge, and the soft drinks are also unlimited. I try to go at least once a month. The ventilation is very good- you still smell like bbq when you leave but not as bad as other kbbq I've had. The staff is always very friendly.

I specifically came at 3:10 pm and the server notified me ahead of time that if I wanted that price I would only have until 4 pm which was about 50 minutes to eat. Totally do-able especially since I was a party of 1. Just a heads up their options for lunch is different from dinner hence the difference in price points of the two. Everything was buffet style so you would go to the bar to grab your meats, drinks, and sauces. If you wanted rice, kimchi, or other sides please let your server know. Service was great and attentive. My server often came by and offered to cut the pork belly which by the way were my favorite here. The restaurant gave me a sense of modern/hipster vibes which can be appealing for young crowds and it seems pretty clean overall. Definitely will be back to try their dinner options one day but it's a good spot for a cheap ayce during lunch time!

Lots of desserts and the pot roast was a bit dry but the butterfly shrimp made up for it However my experience was terrible thanks to the tall skinny white guy who was cooking the steaks. I stood in line to get a steak and told him medium rare. He put a burnt piece of steak on my plate and walked away to put new steaks on the grill. I sat down upset and found out a family member was giving a medium steak that he refused to eat so I traded with him. Before leaving I wanted to discuss my experience with the steak guy so he wouldn't mess up other people food. He denied the whole thing and told me that never happened. I asked one of the waitress for his name but she didn't know. I left giving him the middle finger. From now on -- place a number by each steak photo. 1 for rare and 5 for burnt ( well done). We can give the cook our fingers instead of talking through a sneeze guard in case the cook is too busy to pay attention to what we said. Don't fire the idiot but do as I advise.
