Right from the entrance, the restaurant makes a nice first impression. The buffet area is beautifully decorated, and the dining room offers plenty of seating with some nice projection-image décor that gives the space a little more character than your typical buffet. The staff was friendly and attentive, regularly checking on customers and keeping things moving. We also had no wait for a table, which is always a good way to start when you arrive hungry! At around $16 per person, the price felt right on point for what you get. Grand Buffet is more of a mid-sized buffet, but there was still a good variety of food to choose from, with plenty of options to make a few trips around the buffet worthwhile. Unfortunately, there was one miss--and naturally, it had to be one of my favorites. The fish I normally look forward to at a Chinese buffet wasn't quite up to temperature and was a little cold. The flavor wasn't necessarily the problem; it just needed to be hotter. Nothing ruins that triumphant walk back from the buffet quite like discovering your favorite item needed a little more time under the heat lamp. Overall, though, that was the only real downside to an otherwise enjoyable visit. Between the friendly service, attractive atmosphere, good selection, reasonable price and zero wait, Grand Buffet earns a solid 3.9 out of 5 stars. FINAL RATING: 3.9/5 Would we return? Absolutely. As for the food: on Isaac's recommendation we started with the gyozas, as well as some soy-garlic wings AND sweet & spicy Gochujang wings. The gyozas are absolutely worth ordering (especially on $1 night). I cook with Gochujang often but we didn't get any spice from the wings themselves. Still delicious and still worth ordering it just wasn't what we expected. The spicy tantan(?) ramen was also delicious with a side of chicken katsu. The Suntory seltzers are delicious but dangerous! Picking something off the menu was tough because everything looks amazing. I ended up ordering the classic pork bao bun and chicken kimchi sando while my friend got the pork belly ramen. The flavors were amazing and the hype of this place didn't disappoint. Not really a complaint but something I wanted to point out that was a bit odd: The chicken sandwich came with two very large pieces of breaded chicken. I ended up removing one because it was a bit hard to eat. By the end of the meal I figured I would just take that piece home. I asked for an extra bun so I could make another sandwich with what was leftover later. The server looked at me like I was speaking another language he didn't understand. He said "a slice of bread?" I said "yes two so I can make a sandwich" and pointed at my plate and referenced why I wanted it. This went back and forth way too long and he said he would 1) need to see if they could do that and 2) if so he would have to charge me. In the end I got two pieces of white bread (not the Hawaiian bun that came with the originally came with which I found odd) all for $6. I don't mind that I was charged for it, I used to work food and Bev and get it. But $6? And I couldn't be given the original bun I asked for? That's a bit ridiculous.

If you've never tried stone bowl bibimbap, it's a Korean dish served in a sizzling hot stone bowl filled with rice, vegetables, and usually an egg, with your choice of protein. The best part is how the hot stone makes the rice crispy on the bottom! One of my favorite things here is the banchan, which are small traditional Korean side dishes served alongside your meal. They typically include a variety of seasoned, pickled, or fermented vegetables. I always ask for the banchan and edamame! The selection changes from day to day, so you never know exactly what you'll get. I especially love the lotus root, and the kimchi is another favorite. If you're unfamiliar with kimchi, it's fermented cabbage seasoned with Korean chili flakes, garlic, and other ingredients, giving it a wonderfully tangy, spicy flavor. The atmosphere is another reason to visit. The interior has a fun, modern, almost nightclub-like feel, with interesting lighting, mirrors, Korean artwork, and a lively bar area. There are separate dining areas for traditional meals and Korean BBQ, where you can cook your food right at the table. It's definitely more interesting than your typical restaurant interior! They also offer happy hour Tuesday through Friday, with specials on drinks and food, including sushi. It's worth checking out if you want to try a few things without spending as much. And I have to mention the Lucky Buddha beer! It comes in an adorable green glass bottle shaped like a laughing Buddha. It's such a fun, unusual bottle and something a little different to try. I've always found the service friendly and enjoyable, and I appreciate that there's so much variety on the menu. Whether you're interested in the full Korean BBQ experience, sushi, or trying traditional Korean dishes, there's plenty to explore. It's definitely a place I enjoy returning to!
