ASIFUSION has only been open two weeks. The sign outside still says Cherry Blossom.

I found ASIFUSION on Yelp, and it was near my hotel. I saw that it was new with only one review. I wanted some Sushi and thought I would give it a try. I'm so glad that I did. EVERYTHING was delicious. Upon my arrival, l thought I was in the wrong place as the sign outside said "Cherry Blossom - Japanese Restaurant!" There was a written sign on the door with "ASIFUSION." Went in and only one other couple was inside. I'm from Los Angeles, and was raised in a predominantly Japanese neighborhood. I used to trade my school hot lunches with my Japanese friends who had Bento Box Lunches. This was in the 70s and I already had a pallet for seaweed, rice crackers, horseradish, dried & raw fish, salty seeds, Ramen, and other Japanese dishes. When Sushi became popular in the late eighties, my love for the cuisine was broadened. The owner of ASIFUSION (I believe his name is Allen) was very friendly and asked how I found his restaurant because it had only been opened two weeks. I told him someone posted a good review on Yelp, so I thought I'd give it a try. The menu was huge. My 84 year old dad decided on the Shrimp Teriyaki Dinner. I chose the Volcano Roll and New Orleans Roll with a side of Spicy Miso Soup. The portion sizes and presentation were great! The food was DELICIOUS! My hats off the Female Itamae (Sushi Chef). Her rolls were FULL & TIGHT. They did not fall apart when I picked them up or bit into them. The fish was FRESH! The prices were more than reasonable. In LA these dishes would have cost a lot more for less. If you are in the area and want a great meal for a good price, give ASIFUSION a try!

Biggest hand rolls I've ever seen! Fresh and great value sushi. The sashimi cut was a little odd and thinner than I'm used to but it was tasty.

Was looking forward to the lemongrass sauce with squash but ended up liking the classic a bit better. There were a decent amount of big crawfish, but my husbands batch was very hit and miss, many were very small and limp, unable to eat about a third of them. Big tables, lots of space. Decent TVs to catch games on. Nice selection of drinks, the mint lychee drink was strong. Service was great.

After 5ppl they charge you a gratuity fee. Which that's fine, but at least work for the gratuity fee. I feel like waiters that get gratuity feel as though they don't have to work because they have already gotten my tip. Also they charge you $15 if you bring a cake into their establishment. Also I DID not like how they treated a group of "black" young men that came into the restaurant. The food was absolutely disgusting.i hate swai fish. And if your restaurant isn't serving "REAL" catfish at least advertise that on your menu. The fries were hard and overcooked. The egg rolls were semi decent. Definitely would not recommend this place of business

One restaurant that locals constantly recommended to me was Drago's Seafood in Metairie, and now I completely understand why. I ordered the charbroiled oysters along with the crawfish platter that came with crawfish étouffée, crawfish mac and cheese, and fried crawfish. Every single thing on the table was incredible. The charbroiled oysters absolutely lived up to the hype rich, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. The crawfish platter was just as impressive and gave me a chance to try multiple Louisiana dishes all in one meal. What really stood out to me beyond the food was the service. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient with questions from someone who isn't from Louisiana and still learning the local food scene. You can tell they take pride in both the restaurant and the hospitality. The only downside is parking can get a little complicated because the place fills up fast, which honestly says a lot about how popular it is. Just plan ahead or expect a short wait finding a spot. Overall, this is one of those restaurants that feels genuinely loved by locals and absolutely worth visiting if you're traveling through the New Orleans area.

My bartender, Darryl, took fantastic care of me. Vibes in this place are very warm and cozy, I sat at the bar to the right of the entrance as you walk in. I had a half dozen char grilled oysters and a cup of seafood gumbo. I see why the oysters are so popular, they are a hit. Buttery and garlicky, the crusty bread they serve with them is a great compliment to soak up the sauce. I had originally intended on getting the chicken and andouille gumbo but Darryl steered me away from it, he said it was very salty. I trusted his word and went with the seafood gumbo instead and was very pleased with it. The flavors were fantastic, but I am gonna ding it ever so slightly as I think $8.99 is kind of an obscene price for that serving size, but at least it was good. Overall I'm very satisfied with my lunch and the service, I think if you like seafood and you're in their area, you should eat here. Edit - $9 for a pint is a little over the top too, imo. My "light lunch" was $42 before the tip.

This is an extremely casual place, that is both a seafood market and restaurant. I chose to lunch in. The service is friendly and familiar. I felt just as welcomed as the regulars. The menu is full of tempting selections, but knew a few things I wanted. I started off with a cup of seafood gumbo. After the first bite, I regretted not getting a bowl! Next time! It was rich and flavorful, and was clearly not rushed. Next, I also tried the chicken and andouille gumbo. Also excellent, but just slightly shy of the seafood version. The main portion of the meal was what I came for: the crawfish boil. I asked for spicy, and was informed there was only "just right," and they were correct. Initially, I was surprised that the dish came out warm, but not hot, but that, too, was just right. Oh, and the price! Usually, when you see "market price," you expect to lighten your wallet a bit, but in this case, that meant $5.99 for pound. It's crawfish season, I'm told, but still.... I'm used to paying a lot more. The decor is vintage jazz festival posters. Also, since this Women's History Month, the place is women-owned
