Long story short. This is what happened, the other day I had a party with 13 ppl,2 of them had a la carte and the rest of them had ayce.I'd double checked the order and I did charge them correctly. This is the first mistake I made,I should save the order on the handheld when I showed them the price.I didn't save it since I'd to jump on something else.I closed out the check on the handheld right next to my manager while he was looking for that check on the computer.I thought I put the correct order in at the second time.I didn't notice there were 2 adults ayces missing.Later on,I clocked out and turned in how much it showed on the report that I owe to the restaurant. My manager did not even count right away as I handed him the money and the report. He brought me to the office and asked me do i have anything to explain.I was confused that there might be something happened but I didn't realize.I tried to explain, but it looked like he wasn't satisfied. Then I realized he was telling me earlier that the bill wasn't correct.I asked him,Is there something wrong with the bill?If so,I'll make it up.I thought he would let me know and fix the issue right away if he noticed there was a problem.Yes,I did make a mistake.I was shocked when I found out there were 2 ayces missing. Then I paid what I owed to the restaurant.I felt sorry and I committed my fault, but I did not mean to hide anything. My manager asked,How much do you hide in your pocket? He was insisting that I was hiding the money purposely. It was a serious accusation.I tried to communicate with him and tell him what happened.I was looking at his face and he did not even want to look at me the whole time during our conversation. He sat down at the bar and started drinking a beer, and carelessly said it's okay, not a big deal,no misunderstanding, you can go home now.Blahblahblah,he started telling me a bunch of things about his friends and himself but nothing concerning to this case.I didn't understand why he was telling me that.In the end,he also said,I was just kidding. Then I said,Is it funny? It's not funny at all.It sounds kinda ridiculous to me with that attitude to handle this situation.I could tell he would not listen anything at that moment,so I gave up on saying anything more and left.I received a text from him in the group in next morning.I was told that I don't need to come in for that day and he'll notice me when the investigation is completed.Few hours later,I was removed from the group on homebase without any notices.I haven't heard anything back from him so far to proof his insistence. There was actually a time gap between he finds out the mistake till I clock out.I understand what he concerns as a manager, but he could simply tell me straight and fix the issue right away instead of making the problem worse since he already found out the problem in the beginning.A simple question,Who would be so stupid to cheat on a big party bill right in front of your supervisor if you wanted to hide something? It was so obvious and I knew he was looking at the bill on the computer while I finished on my handheld.I don't understand why he rather be an investigator, like Sherlock Holmes, and chose not to trust his employee after making his employee to explain. At least,Holmes has logical thinking. Also, dismissing employees without having any substantial evidences and formal notices.Everything ended up with nothing definite.Management team,Is it okay to judge an employee for cheating by his mistake? Is this a way that a manager should do to handle cases?I'd never get a chance to explain anything to anyone since I got moved out from the group. That's why I'm clarifying here. I'd never text a word in the group chat before, but it doesn't mean that I would be silent and agree everything. There are some details I didn't mention due to character limitation, but again, I did not mean to hide anything.I'm not expecting anything but speaking out for myself.Lastly,I know you all will see this and hopefully you will get it.Believe or not, this is the whole thing above. I'm tired of explaining this. read more
