Stopped by Rock n Roll Sushi right before closing on a Saturday and ordered to-go. The A/C was out (hopefully that's fixed soon), but service at the bar was prompt and friendly. My rolls were ready in just a few minutes and, though on the smaller side, they were delicious. I tried the Groupie Roll and Crowd Surfer Roll. The jalapeños on top of the crowd surfer were a great touch. I'll definitely be back, especially for their BOGO Tuesdays and weekday happy hour . read more

Probably the worst sushi I've ever had. The taste was just off and I couldn't even finish

I've tried this place a few times via delivery (a family member really enjoys their food LOL). The crab rangoons are pretty good; not the best but certainly not the worst. The sushi is just okay. I officially ordered my own a couple days ago and I wasn't completed blown away. I know a lot of sushi isn't jam packed with flavor but something about the shrimp tempura roll was underwhelming. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I've had better. Overall, decent place. 6/10. read more

We've eaten here twice and as much as we wanted it to be amazing and be regulars here... it's just not that great. We love the atmosphere and the whole feel of the place! But the food hype just isn't there. The rolls are just ok, but we wanted more options, including just to be able to get some basic rolls like a snow crab or crunchy roll as well. We went for the sushi day for our 2nd visit, and from the marketing it seemed you would try a few different samples... when we asked about the event, we were only told to pick one each (there was only 2 of us dining, among the 1 other couple there). And they were served in a tiny plastic dipping cup. Super disappointing. The servers are always great there though, so that's at least nice! read more

Idc if you're starving, this is a place that is a laughing stock and disrespect to Japanese cuisine. Save your time, and go down to metarie to shogun where the real vibe is at, like a night club. You walk in and there's no soul here, and the brand name ain't saving you, I couldn't even ask the lady making sushi any questions. But also, someone must be extremely hurting to charge 8 dollars for 2 pieces of nigiri, and only to get a thin mediocre piece of fish that is half a centimeter thick. If I had a scale I bet it was .1 ounces of fish. Get it together and stop stealing peoples money because you're not smart enough to run your business and then skate on the portions: you're out of your mind. read more

Rock N Sushi is decorated to match its name. The restaurant has velvet booths, guitars hanging on the wall, and a large screen that plays music videos. Staff were very friendly and the service was good. Appetizers were the highlight of this meal, the sampler is the way to go. It comes with Jalapeño poppers, egg rolls, gyoza, and crispy wontons. All delicious! Ordered the Sweet Home Alabama roll and it was very good! The hibachi duet with chicken and steak was not as good and the rice was very disappointing. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere and service and would go back to explore the drink and sushi menu! read more

This was my third time at this place and it was still as good as the first time, in my opinion. I hear so many people say they "aren't impressed" or "it's overrated" but I still don't understand why. The staff were friendly and attentive, the sushi was fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was unique and cool. My favorite roll is the groupie roll and it's pretty huge and it tastes so good! They started with their happy hour deals and I just think that their deals make them even better. I'm never going to say this is the best sushi ever, but I don't think it deserves the hate it's been getting. I have yet to have a bad experience here and I'm just unsure why I've seen so many bad reviews. I can't wait to go back soon! read more

Not impressed. The best part of our meal was their take on jalapeño poppers. I had the Rainbow Roll which in comparison to most other Sushi restaurants, Rock n Roll Sushi's rainbow roll was the size of a roll from Rouse's. Not only was it about half the size of most other restaurants, but it was 2/3rds covered with Avocado instead of fish. Only had one roll with Salmon, one with Tuna, and one with Whitefish. The rest was topped with Avocado. I also ordered fresh salmon roll, which tasted fine, however again, the roll pieces were super thin and just felt very small in comparison to similarly priced restaurants. My wife had the VIP roll, which was really good. I say all this to say, when compared to other similarly priced sushi restaurants that we like to go to, we certainly didn't feel like we got a product that was up to our expectations. read more

The owner of this restaurant is careless and irresponsible. I ordered 3 specialty rolls a few days ago through Uber Eats, I called the restaurant immediately after receiving the bad smelling seafood in the sushi or "lack thereof seafood" the "manager" Thomas stated that the owner has other refunds he needed to process and that he was very sorry that I wasn't happy with the food and that the owner will call me and refund the order. Fast forward 48hrs, owner never refunded the money or called me. I called 3 x within the week and left the owner Joe my number for him to call me after his Manager Ashley stated he will refund the order and call me to let me know it's been processed. Today I went in to meet with Joe and he stated he will take care of it and call me in 30 mins. He called and told me there is NOTHING he can do because I ordered it through Uber Eats, I called Uber Eats and they have a 48hr refund period. Called Joe back and he refused to do anything, kept telling me there is NOTHING he can do.. I blame it on him and his employee's lack of knowledge about Uber Refund Policy. Instead of taking responsibility for his team stating that the order would be refunded and taking responsibility for going almost a week without calling me, his way of rectifying the issue was to tell me HE CAN'T DO ANYTHING... I don't see this place staying open much longer. Anyone can open a business, but not everyone has the ability to operate one. If you want stale and bland over priced sushi, eat there. Sam's Club Sushi is way better, fresher and affordable. $70.00 bucks for 3 very small rolls (8) in each with barely any meat and smelly seafood with dry rice. These are NOT specialty rolls. Oh and it Doesn't come with any sauce, I paid for 2 sauces 60 cents each and it was less than half way to the top. What a joke. I rarely ever write bad reviews, but when I do it's always when the business doesn't make it right! Potential Diners deserve to know the treatment I received from this establishment and it's Owner. If owned a restaurant and my customers were unhappy with their service I would do anything to make sure they're satisfied even if it means coming out of my pocket. Reputation is everything! Picked up my grandson and his girlfriend from the airport Sunday. Gave them a choice of burgers or sushi they chose sushi. Closest place was rock n roll sushi. It was our first time. We were greeted by Joey. He let us pick our own booth and his customer service was as good as it gets. Had hibachi a rainbow roll and some fresh fish. Only thing that could have put it over the edge would be to have football playing on the tv's on a Sunday. Wouldn't normally do this but joeys service was so good I gave him my word I would leave a review. I will be a return customer! read more

While I know my husband and I went on the second night of opening, service was SLOW! What could have been improved: 1. Greeting with the hand held computer to get bar drink in quicker and be ready to take an appetizer order as well. She did not do this. 2. She took too long to get our orders. 3. No forks and waited a while to eat my salad cause our waitress didn't go get it for several minutes. 4. Asked for check, instead of doing that, she brings the computer and just tells us how much it is. Who in the world just pays for something and not know what they are being charged for.??? She didn't do as asked. Servers make mistakes with checks as we have had during the years wrong checks to overcharges to charged to the wrong table to wrongly rung up items to wrong prices, etc. I'd like to READ my check. 5. When I asked for the check our waitress gets napkin trash on our table before putting in the table next to us cheesecake order since she didn't have the hand held computer as she should have delaying their cheesecake order and worrying about napkins instead of the cheesecake and the check request. She could have gotten our check before picking up napkin trash off our table. Trash isn't as important as someone's time wanting to pay. While I know it was their 2nd day, common sense should come into play like most people need utensils and I overheard the people next to us ask for some utensils. They aren't training on what it's like to be a customer. We will try again but kind of ridiculous they don't give you utensils and they don't give you a paper check. I had to ask for the check a second time which is ridiculous. 6. Servers not knowing what rolls look like. Our waitress tried to give the table by us my husband's roll he had been waiting on wayyy longer than my entrée. Server didn't verify her order. Nor did the lady that brought it to her to serve know the table it went to. 7. Didn't write down drink orders which she had to ask again. The quality did not match the price. For the prices I paid, I expected an exceptional meal. The entire presentation was a letdown. Roll was double cut to appear like a large portion. This was my second time eating here, and I was expecting the same good food and service that I had before. Not this time! Bartender made horrible drinks, waitress made one of mine, a vodka and water. I knew better than to order from this place after previously having had a rough experience at rock n roll sushi in Mobile, AL. But I wanted sushi, and this place replaced the old neighborhood spot. It's a chain with every southern persons dream sushi: tons of sauces, cream cheese and fake crab. Which I can get down with. I don't recommend going for anything raw. I'm skeptical of their yellowtail. It's so fishy and tastes more like mackerel or escolar. Also, in the menu, they use phrases like "red tuna" which is always a red flag. "Red tuna" is not a fish. Tell me if it's yellowfin, blackfin, skipjack, etc. Definitely gas station quality sushi for an exorbitant price. And this is so trivial, but my miso soup didn't have any tofu...love those soft lil flavor squares. Anyways the service was wonderful and of course these people don't control where their ingredients and menus are coming from so 2 stars for nice hosts and servers. read more

I went here for the 1st time. Lights are so dim that I had to use a flashlight to see the menu. Then I couldn't understand the menu, it was so confusing. And I think that is the theme of this place confusing. I asked what kind of hot tea they have. They don't serve any... I began to look for the sushi since that is in its name... and basically they sushi is absolutely hard to find. There's almost nothing raw on the menu. It's in a little corner at the bottom that says raw. With not much on it. All the "sushi" was cooked. The only raw thing I could find was a poke bowl. It was ok, but it didn't have much fish. Imagine that. I decided to order a roll just for the heck of it. The rice was gummy. It was awful. Tasted like grocery store rice. And really there wasn't much going for it. I wouldn't waste your time or money. This place will be closed in no time. Quirky, weird and like I said confusing. My 20 year old said it reminded her of Vintage Rock Club. The bathrooms have pink neon that says GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS. And had a paper sign in the bathroom that said Ladies Day specials on drinks all day.
