Terrible customer service. DJ dropped music as bride was walking down the aisle. DJ claimed bride decided not to have bouquet or garter toss. Company took side of DJ- even though my daughter said that conversation never happened that night. So, they called the bride a liar, shrugged off the stopped music as she walked down the aisle. This has to be the prettiest venue in the area and I'm so glad I chose it. From the initial consultation, to the sparkler send off our wedding was a true dream come true. The booking process was so easy and everything falls into place just in the right time leading up to the big day. I worked with their vendors rather than trying to source my own and I'm so glad I did, they all coordinate so well together. This was the PERFECT venue for our wedding, and I'd absolutely encourage anyone who is going to be getting married to use this venue or at least use Walters Weddings (and try to get Hallie as your planner) From the very first time we reached out the team at Ashton Gardens was prompt, professional and friendly. Then when we toured the venue... the chapel is breathtaking, the grounds are very well kept, more than enough parking and the reception area... simply beautiful. We worked with Hallie and I can't say enough wonderful things about her and her team. She made planning so smooth and easy, had great suggestions in helping us to achieve our vision. On the day of, if there had been any snags we still haven't heard about them. Hallie and Tabitha (and everyone there) made everything run smoothly, on time and they even helped me pull of the surprise of having a stringed quartet to play for our ceremony that I got for my fiancé. Yes there is a space for that in the chapel and the acoustics are fantastic! Cody was a great dj for our day as well. Everyone kept telling me I would stress planning a wedding but Hallie kept that from happening! She worked with our timeline and listened to our ideas, and explained things to us! Shes a STAR!! For my 900th review I'm reviewing my wedding venue for my 9/17/16 afternoon wedding. I could not be any happier with the service provided by Samantha and Ashley, especially because we were planning long distance from Las Vegas. Brian P. and I had already been engaged almost 5 months by the time we began wedding planning. On a random trip to Dallas, Brian and I decided to start looking at venues as my family refused to attend if we had it at my dream venue in Campeche, Mexico due to cartels, bugs, travel, etc etc etc. Prior to coming to A.G., I had set up appointments with 4 venues. We looked at A.G. first, looked at a second, and immediately canceled our other viewings and called A.G. back to book. Because we booked during Valentine's weekend, we were gifted a night at Hotel Zaza and dinner. Samantha was fantastic! She booked our tasting and walk through around our travel schedules as we flew out twice between booking and our wedding day to meet with our other vendors. During our tasting, we ended up finding our florist and exact florals. Due to the fact we were having a multicultural wedding, A.G. allowed us to create a totally custom menu that catered to our guests' needs. The food was fantastic the day of, and later that night in the to go boxes the staff packed for our wedding night. Our rehearsal went so smoothly as did our wedding thanks to all of the staff at A.G., but especially thanks to Samantha and Ashley. It felt as if they were working on our wedding alone during the almost 7 months of planning. While older reviews mention being hearded through like cattle, and up to 4 weddings a day, their policy has changed where only one wedding can take place during the afternoon and one at night. That gives you time to relax and vendors ample time to set up and no worries about guests going into the wrong reception. There was lots of family drama to navigate through planning and everything went off without a hitch. Samantha even saved the day because our tailor forgot to sew a bustle in my dress. Thanks to her quick thinking, Samantha was able to pin my dress so that I wouldn't trip during our first dance. Ashley, not my family, was the one who helped me into my Pakistani second dress. We got so many compliments about how high end our wedding looked as well as how fun and tasty everything was, which made me so happy. Even though I had always dreamed of this location in Mexico, now that I think about it, I'm so glad my family refused to go because otherwise we would have never found A.G. and had this perfect wedding. My husband and I originally wanted an outdoor wedding, however, with our wedding being in February we weren't sure how realistic that would be. We began looking for chapels/venues with windows so it would still give us an outdoorsy vibe. Let me tell you. When we first walked into the chapel at Ashton Gardens we were speechless. The windows are so beautiful and the scenery is just breathtaking. The reception ballroom is no different. Windows all around, and beautiful details to match. We knew we had found the place! I've been to a million weddings, but had never seen all the details that go into planning. We worked with Peyton as our wedding coordinator and she was fabulous. She asked me all the important questions, and when we came across one that I had no idea Was something I would need to think about. She didn't pressure me, she just told me to take note of it and email her with whatever I decided. We got through our meetings and felt like I had taken care of all of the details. Honestly, I was nervous and didn't know what to expect or how and IF everything was going to come together. The day of, my husband nor I had anything to worry about. Peyton literally took care of and thought of everything. She was AMAZING And so intentional. For instance, it was freezing outside. I went and took pictures with my groom for our first look and when I came back in I couldn't stop shivering. When everyone was throwing jackets on me to warm me up, Peyton comes in with some hot water! Another thing that stood out was when we were taking off for our exit, Peyton came up to us and said everything is loaded in your car, and your phones are in the cup holders up front....I hadn't seen my phone since that morning so it's a miracle that anyone found it lol. I know these details have nothing to do with the actual ceremony, but they show how intentional people are here at Ashton Gardens. If you've visited Ashton Gardens before, you should know how gorgeous this place is. My wife fell in love with the venue from our first visit and we're so glad we picked it for our wedding. My wife and I are 2 OCD students, medical student and PhD student respectively, and we were planning a wedding in the DFW area from 2 other cities. This seemed like an impossible task with our academic schedules but Samantha made it happen without us needing to hire a wedding coordinator. Even though the place can run up to 4 weddings per day, they are super organized to make sure each wedding is unique and distinct. There were only 2 weddings on our date. Most people can't keep up with our level of OCD-ness but Samantha seemed to have read our minds. From the exact placements of the table cards to the timing of each "event" during the wedding, the execution was 100% on point. All the staff knew exactly what to do. We had a decent amount of on-the-day help from friends and family but Samantha and her staff handled most of the prep themselves. The wedding flowed so smoothly that even our picky Asian parents were impressed! So if you're looking for a venue that provides detailed customization and a stress-free experience, Ashton Gardens will give you a run for your money. We had our wedding here at the end of June, and Ashton Gardens was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. Our wedding coordinator Brooke was literally the greatest person ever, and the day would not have gone so smoothly if it were not for her. AG is all inclusive, and they literally take care of EVERYTHING. You could show up with an officiant and yourself and be good to go. Minimum decorations were needed because the place is beautiful as-is. Centerpieces, china, table cloths, chairs, tables are all included. You do have to use their catering, but the food is excellent. You get to choose from their menu of options, and have the ability to customize if you'd like. If you ask for a quote, be excited because AG will likely be cheaper than you expect! You have the option of renting out the full ballroom that fits 400 people, or half the ballroom that fits 200. We rented half, and they have a screen that closes off the room so it still feels intimate. We also did an afternoon wedding, which is definitely cheaper than a night wedding! The afternoon was perfect because we had so much natural light for excellent pictures, and you could see the gorgeous trees in the background. I got to have my grand entrance to the ceremony through the chapel doors, and my husband and I had a grand entrance to our ceremony via their staircase. Overall we had an extremely magical day, and I would definitely recommend the beautiful Ashton Gardens. read more

Was thrilled to death with Ashton Gardens. We got married there in 2016 and my friends/family still rave about this venue. The walkability from the chapel to the reception was a big deal to me and I didn't want to be in one of those "flip the space" situations. This was perfect. Our day of planner was fabulous and kept everyone organized. The food was bomb!!! We did a seated dinner and chose the stuffed chicken option with mashed potatoes on the side. We ended up renting both sides of the ballroom to accommodate our 250+ guests... I know they have an option to just do one side but I was scared at the thought of having noise from another event next door. Really would recommend taking a look, at least! I'm a professional wedding photographer, I've shot several hundred weddings in venues all across north Texas. This place has always been gorgeous and a great place for weddings. But as I vendor I always hated coming here because of the venue's interaction with the vendors. And it wasn't just me complaining, LOTS of other photographers, DJs, videographers, etc dreaded the place. However, about 2 years ago a guy named Romesh took over and has made a lot of changes for the better. Food is better, service is better, vendor interaction is great! This place is certainly a top choice for any local wedding. The chapel is magnificent and the ballroom can be cut in half for smaller receptions if needed. Ashton Gardens is a beautiful venue and they have a process that usually goes well even the face of the pandemic's restrictions for the guests and service. I just attended a wedding here recently, and found that they have dropped the ball significantly in terms of the reception food service. I have attended numerous weddings here and know the food can be great. This past weekend I found that there was no excuse for this lack of seasoning and incorrect preparation of the food that resulted in bland entrees. Each protein lacked basics like salt and butter in their preparation. The beef was even their upgraded item but they failed to season the roast correctly there as well. This item was a hit at past weddings so we know exactly what it was supposed to taste like. There was not a way to adjust this at the table as the staff did not have even salt and pepper shakers available (probably because of covid-19) but they could have given us some packets at least to make the food palatable. The staff was overwhelmed and frustrated because there were not enough servers, or the manager didn't coordinate service well enough to reduce these issues. Staff did not clear the table between courses and left soup bowls and other plates piling up. There was not even enough staff to give us coffee and cream as the cake was passed so most guests went without it, even though it's part of the menu. This is such a sad turn of events for Ashton Gardens. I don't think anyone else in our group will now want to consider Ashton Gardens for their future weddings in light of what happened at this wedding. Truly a disappointment. read more

Okay, I can only say I attended a wedding here recently. I can't say how much it cost or anything concerning details. However, place is really nice. They have a two building setup. Wedding Chapel and then reception building. Lots of space in the reception area, enough for two separate parties. Chapel is simple, but seems pretty elegant. Plenty of seating unless you're talking about two huge families with lots of invites. I would imagine it would be fine for 90%+ of most weddings. Small balcony in back that was used in this case for a violin and bass player. I thought at first it was a sound system playing, until I turned and saw them. Acoustics for the music were great, and voices could be heard pretty well (if they were speaking up) during the ceremony. Reception area had a nice sized dance floor. Nice table area, the layout was good. Dinner was service buffet line style. Staff did a good job of cleaning plates and removing them from the area quickly. Bartenders did a good job of keeping up with the mass rush before and after arrival in the reception hall. Nice side exit outside area where all the filthy smokers went to celebrate with cigars. Hey, there was a fancy cement floor urn ashtray out there so it was okay to smoke even! Nice place, parking lot makes you feel a little like you're walking through the old Six Flags Casa Magnetica, but unless you've enjoyed yourself to much, you'll be fine. read more

Where to even start... First of all, the venue is an astoundingly beautiful mix of modern and traditional styles with a neutral color scheme that works perfectly as either a blank canvas for your perfect wedding vision, or on its own if you want a simple, minimalist, yet supremely elegant event. The venue is extremely flexible and offers a fair amount of included design and decor options of their own, to which they welcome any customization the marrying couple wants. The non-denominational chapel is a breathtaking marvel and true gem with its soaring ceilings and cedar beam-trimmed motif and its three sides of 20-ft glass walls looking out into the surrounding forest setting. We were smitten with the venue just seeing the pictures online, but fell head-over-heels in love seeing it in person. Even our guests were just as awestruck as we were. And the level of service awed us. To start, they saved us at the last minute. We only had three months to plan and when another venue fell through at the last-minute (AG was our preferred venue from the start, but the initial proposal fell outside our budget), not only did AG have our preferred date available, they went out of their way to work within our modest budget and rescued us from having to settle (thank you, Christina B!). From there, it was a smooth and perfect journey working with their coordinator, Samantha. She anticipated our needs, asked the right questions, made wonderful suggestions, and went out of her way to help us bring our vision to life from planning, to setting up, and even packing up at the end of the night. Then there's the food and level of service we received on the day itself--absolute perfection. Samantha hand picked our wait staff, personal server, and bartender (she actually got married at AG during our planning process) and everyone was professional and friendly and supremely helpful. They really made our wedding a perfect and memorable night. We can't recommend Ashton Gardens enough. read more

A beautiful venue! The ambience of the place is very romantic and scenic. They do a great job of keeping this place looking like it was built yesterday. It is very clean and well kept. The food is delicious here as well which is not common for venues that cook their own food for the guests. The chapel is absolutely gorgeous and makes you feel like you're in a fairy-tale land. The service could have been a little better as far as staff goes. I got some complaints from my guests that the bartenders were rude and refused to serve them alcohol even though I had paid for open bar (and trust me, it's not cheap). The coordinators here are good at making you feel comfortable on the day of, however, could be a little more organized and accomodating. At one point during the wedding, my bridesmaids realized the keyboard for the musicians was locked in a closet somewhere and none of the coordinators were anywhere to be found. Luckily, my bridesmaids managed to solve the issue on their own, but it was a close call! read more

This venue is 5 star beautiful, but we had the most disappointing service I have ever had the misfortune to experience at a wedding, and it was my daughter's! She and her husband are so disappointed. Each day we hear new stories from our guests about things that went wrong. The list of things that were paid for and not received is long: adequate number of bartenders (I think the people bartending were not real bartenders at all), ran out of basic mixers by dinner time, did not provide signature drinks as promised (they said they didn't have time to make the signs, venue was booked since January for a December wedding), adequate number of servers or staff to bus tables, bride and groom did not have their own server, no wine service during dinner, guests did not all get appetizers and/or cake, tables were not bussed in a timely fashion, This all caused a delay of the timeline so the dancing was pushed back so we got less than we paid for because of it. The on-site coordinator (Sara M.) was incompetent, rude and unprofessional. If you have already booked this venue and she is assigned to you I would demand a new coordinator. She lied to us about why there weren't enough bartenders, lied to our guests and said they ran out of food because the bride's family didn't want to pay for all the meals, lied to the staff and told them that more people showed up than were expected. The truth is we had 12 people not show up to the wedding so there is no reason for a shortage of food. She did not pass out glow sticks as requested and was confused about bridal party and parent introductions. Bathroom garbage cans were overflowing when the reception began and there were no tables set up on the dance floor during the cocktail hour as promised. Thank goodness our DJ was fantastic and we have very understanding friends and family because in spite of Ashton Gardens we had a great time. I would be very wary of booking this venue. My hope is that they will learn from this and go on to throw fabulous weddings, but for my daughter and her husband they will never get this day back and it was not the magical experienced they were promised and hoping for. No amount of restitution or apologies is enough because my daughter and her husband do not get to do this over. I recommend finding a different venue for any meaningful event. We certainly wish we had. As a response to Ashton Gardens reply: I was the mother of the bride and attended every meeting except the ones that involved finances as I did not pay for the reception. I had a lot to do with the planning but there was so much turnover of staff throughout the planning process that the current staff is probably not aware of that. Was I upset that night? Yes I was. Did I swear? Probably. There was no verbal assault unless that is defined by firmly trying to get answers that made sense regarding the shortcomings of the event, which were noticeable from the moment the doors were opened. I did not call the coordinator any names, but the fact that she claimed I did is not surprising based on my original review. It speaks volumes that Ashton Garden's response focuses on my behavior and questions my credibility. The evening was shocking in the total failure to provide what was promised. As I said in my original review, no amount of monetary resolution or apology is enough because the couple can never get that day back. My concern was and still is for the bride and groom who are terribly disappointed and did not get the service they were promised and to warn others about booking this venue. read more

What words can i use to described how AWESOME THIS PLACE & THE STAFF ARE??!! Essentially we were the last wedding of the day since we opted for the moonlight ceremony on a Friday night which started at 9:30PM. Everything was perfect! The staff was on point with everything. I definitely have to shout out to our wedding coordinator Larrah Lewis who probably had the hardest job of them all being so new to the team. She did an excellent job! We had been planning our wedding since March of 2011. At first our coordinator was Laura. She had been our main point of contact for questions/info/emails/ phone calls which we found very invaluable since we were planning from another state. Laura ended up resigning about a month before our wedding day. Talk about my wife being stressed out! She went into panic mode and I went into praying mode!! Larrah, our new coordinator, was awesome and she picked up right where Laura left off with no problem. I would recommend Ashton Gardens to anybody hands down!!! They helped keep my lady calm and answered each and every question she had, WHICH WAS A LOT!!..lol that's my baby though!!:) THANKS LAURA ,KELLY & LARRAH YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!! FYI: For those who have issues with family being on time, best thing to do is to LIE about the actual time of events!...we told our fam and peps the wedding started @ 9pm instead of the actual time of 9:30pm!..trust me it WORKS!!..LOL CP time is not optional for a wedding...!! FYI #2: DID I MENTION THAT OUR WEDDING PARTY WAS PICKED UP IN A LIMO FROM THE HOTEL AND BROUGHT TO ASHTON GARDENS!!? AND THE LIMO BROUGHT US BACK WHEN THE WEDDING WAS OVER!! How am I the first to write a review?? This place is AMAZING!! I dreamed and dreamed of how our wedding day would go, and this place made it far beyond what I had imagined... The staff is amazing... They work with you if you're on a budget but still make you feel like its not about money.. The sky is the limit! When I first saw pictures of Ashton Gardens online, I was blown away by how beautiful it looked. I was anxious to see it after being disappointed with several other underwhelming venues. When we pulled into the parking lot, my then fiancé was happy that there was PLENTY of parking for our guests so he was already sold! As soon as we saw the chapel, I immediately got "the feeling". It is absolutely stunning and I knew 100% that was it. Over the course of planning with Ashton Gardens, I can tell you that they have their stuff together. They know how to plan every single detail and make it come together effortlessly without the bride/groom having to stress! Also, the food is fresh and delicious. Ours guests were very happy and full with the buffet! Our wedding coordinator was Samantha. She was VERY helpful and fun to work with. I knew instantly that I was in good hands when I first met her. She had an instant solution for every problem I needed help with. Throughout the night she made sure we were on schedule and that we had everything we needed. Everyone thought it was a beautiful venue. The only thing people complained about was the photo booth that we purchased through Ashton. A lot of people didn't use it at all or only did one photo (including me) because it took SO long to complete one photo strip. I was disappointed by that part, but I'm sure it was a fluke because at the tasting it was fine. Great place for a wedding! They have their own little chapel with large windows. With the trees around, it's a perfect place to be wedded in front of a sunset. The reception hall is just a few steps away. They have a nice foyer and bar area that lead you into the reception. The wedding had buffet style dinner with a great dance floor. We were married here in April of 2011. Absolutely BREATHTAKING chapel & ballroom. Food was delicious. The staff were absolutely fabulous BEFORE the wedding. Problem with this venue is they herd you through like cattle due to the fact there are several rehearsals & weddings a day! We had 30 mins. to rehearse! Luckily there was not a wedding before us or we would not have had access for florist, photos or dressing room until an HOUR before wedding!!! I told the chef numerous times NOT to run out of Shrimp Shooters and my husband only had ONE with our guests having only 1-2. When I complained after wedding was told by well there were plenty IN THE KITCHEN! Then WHY weren't they served? The wedding coordinator was given a schedule of events to happen during ceremony and she kept trying to get me to start down the aisle before time. That and being in the photo when doors open for me to start my walk! Residue from paving stones got on train of dress when taking photos outside leaving reddish color! I LOVED everything about Ashton Gardens! It is the most beautiful venue I've ever seen! All of our wedding guests cannot stop talking about how beautiful Ashton Gardens is. The trees, the flower gardens, the floor to ceiling windows... simply breath taking!! The staff is outstanding, especially our wedding coordinator Samantha! It was a wonderful & beautiful experience! I was invited to a wedding at Ashton Gardens and I was excited since I have seen many pictures of Ashton Gardens and the pictures look beautiful. I was so disappointed. I will say that the chapel is pretty (small but pretty with all the windows) and the reception room was ok but nothing like the pictures. Realizing that Ashton Gardens is an "all inclusive venue", the flowers were scarce (NONE in the chapel and NONE in the reception) and the CAKES NEVER GOT DELIVERED!!!! I had read reviews that this had happened before but never thought it would happen again. And then I got to experience it! The wedding planner they use dropped the ball on a lot of details of this wedding and when the cakes weren't there at 5pm for a 7pm wedding she should have been on the phone calling the bakery. The only thing beautiful about this wedding was the bride & groom! Soooo sad that someone paid the crazy prices that Ashton Gardens charges for what they got (or should I say didn't get). read more
