The worst store ever!!! They make sure to charge you on everything but their customer service is ZERO. No responsibility at all. I purchased some furniture a month ago and until today they did not deliver it to my place. I'm sure I won't deal with them anymore. NOT HAPPY WITH THIS STERLING STORE!!!! read more

First I waited for weeks. Now it is over 2 months. They do not keep their promise. If I want to cancel my order, I have to pay them a restocking fee (for something they don't have in stock o_0) . Please .... please do not buy from them. read more

We were not at all impressed with the quality of product or service at Ashley Furniture and would certainly not recommend this store to anyone. In fact, we had to return several faulty items and received horrendous customer service. read more

Worst customer service ever..had bought a sofa set on August 15th and have still not received it. Just went to the store and the manager says se cant do anything. Have to wait till the last week of september to receive it. Was assured at the time of sale that the sofa will be delivered within 10-14days. Worst delivery time/ Worst customer service. DONT BUY FROM THEM..will never go back again..!! read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! They delivered HALF of the couch (wires and mechanisms hanging out the side AND it didn't even work correctly!!) and then said that if I wanted the other half, that I'd have to pay another $900 to get it (on top of the $1500 that I'd already paid!!). I tried to reason with the sales manager David Williams, as it was HIS FAULT because HE QUOTED ME A PRICE AND ONLY ORDERED HALF OF THE COUCH THAT I ASKED FOR, but was completely shut down. I asked him for the number of his supervisor or a complaint department, and he gave me a number for T&T Distribution in Fredericksburg and that person has not responded to my many voicemails. I went in to the store to see if there was someone that I could talk to, and I showed the customer service representative a picture of the half-couch. She gave me an email address and told me to email the picture to her and that she would have David Williams, the sales manager, call me. After tracing the email domain, I found that it was linked to another furniture store in Fredericksburg, called Trivett's Furniture. The Trivett's website also shows the same couch (both parts) for a lower price than I paid for the half-couch. I was hoping to have a nice couch for family coming in for the holidays, but for now the monstrosity is sitting with a sheet over it because I'm afraid that my pets or children may hurt themselves on the exposed reclining mechanisms. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A STORE TO CONDUCT BUSINESS IN SUCH A MANNER!!! This whole thing is a complete SCAM and all three companies should be held accountable. read more

Fantastic customer service. Skip, my salesman was extremely helpful. Great quality furniture at a good price.

Ordered a dining room buffet table before Christmas. Called today and found out it had been discontinued. No one called to tell me. I guess they just wanted to keep my money as long as they could. Figured, the salesman was the worst. Won't be shopping there anymore due to terrible customer service. read more

We bought a leather sectional from this store about 3 years ago. I left a couple of messages with the store but no one has returned my calls. The sofa is actually disintegrating. We have no idea why, but the leather is literally falling apart in a couple of sections. I used to love furniture from Ashley store. Previously i have bought a sectional from them and i like it a lot. But the way I was treated today by Floor Manager does not even want to make me go back to not only this Ashley Store but all the Ashley stores in DMV area. I went back to Ashley yesterday to look into dining table, TV Stand, Coffee Table and side table. Prices were great and i loved everything. Carlos, a rep from sales team helped with my sales. We talked about the prices and i was looking to see if they can anyway reduce my shipping cost, Carlos mentioned that he can provide me additional DISCOUNT when we close the deal. The only reason i was not able to close the deal that day because i wanted to take measurement of my place to make it sure that they fit in my place. Today i went back early around 11:15 am. Carlos was busy so floor manager (i don't remember his name) offered to help us. Apparently there was some confusion about dining table price. The one that was sold on the floor had grey chairs and i wanted to get different color. When i was there on Saturday, Carlos took a lot of time to research how much is it going to cost if i get chairs with different colors. He later confirmed that it's going to be same price. This morning the floor manager did a lot and back forth and came up with higher price. I had to explain him everything one more time. Floor manager later came up with a same price. My total furniture cost was around roughly 1400 with tax and shipping. Then i asked him that if i can get additional discount since Carlos promised me one on Saturday. He went back to talk with Carlos and came back & told me he will offer me additional $50 off. I asked him if he can do better and he asked if i felt like 50 dollar was not enough and i said yes. AND I WAS SHOCKED TO HEAR BACK WHAT FLOOR MANAGER HAD TO SAY AFTER THAT. HIS EXACT WORDS are "THEN WE ARE DONE" and then HE SHUTS DOWN THE COMPUTER RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I have never ever ever seen such a BAD customer service ever in my life. He could have just been nice and said this is the best i can do but NOPE HE HAS TO BE SUPER RUDE and talk with me like he is talking with his kids. After making me wait for almost an hour and not even apologizing for making me wait an hour, i got such an AWFUL service. Before i left the store, i wanted to let Carlos know how i was treated. I told Carlos the whole story and he completely backed out of his words where he mentioned that he is going to provide me additional discount when we were closing the deal. I was baffled that he lied straight in my face. I should have looked into name of floor manager but unfortunately i was not able to. I am still shocked about how rude the floor manager was!!! Here's the crazy thing: I went back home and checked Ashley store online because i really wanted to buy that dining table. I calculated the price and guess what it was roughly 100 dollar cheaper than price offered in the store. I loved what they have to offer in stores and online but THEY HAVE SUCH a TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE . NOT GOING BACK TO ASHLEY STERLING EVER!!!!! read more

If I could give this store 0 stars I would. Where to even begin...first Id like to start off with the fact that my husband works in sales so we value good customer service and understand that things can be out of sales control. However, our situation was entirely in the stores control. we bought and paid several of thousands of dollars for a bedset to find out after we left the store that our delivery date was moved to a different day. Okay, no problem, we were flexible and adjusted our work schedules. The furniture was then delivered with the box spring broken and the delivery team acknowledged while standing in my house they knew it was broken and told us to call customer care to resolve the issue and proceeded to leave our house leaving the broken box spring behind. My husband then spent 4 hours on the phone with various representatives trying to schedule a repair man to come fix our bed. The repair was finally scheduled for Friday a week later during the workday which meant one of us was going to have to take another day off of work. With that being the case, we asked the repair man call before arrival so we could ensure one of us was home and in the mean time, we were waiting on an additional nightstand for our bedroom set since the store only had one orginally. This is when things went from bad to worse....we made our nightstand a in store PICK UP so we didnt have to wait for delivery and we could recieve it faster and the store told us someone would call us to confirm it had arrived. When i had heard nothing the day after the estimated arrival date, I called the store to find out, they never even ordered the piece! So I was transferred to the manager who promised the piece was now ordered and would arrive on Tuesday and once again, promised someone would call to confirm it had arrived. While still waiting on the nightstand, Friday rolls around and the repair man shows up with no warning call and informs us that he cannot wait for one of us to arrive home that we will have to call the store to reschedule the repair. So yet again, another 3 hours dealing with the store customer service to recieve no reschedule date or solution to our bed being broken (e.g., replace the damn box spring). The last we heard was that they would call us with a new date of repair...well Im glad i didnt hold my breath cause that call never happened. Instead, I urged my husband to give them yet another chance and when the nightstand came to talk with them in person (when we picked up the nightstand) to reschedule the repair...well there is only one problem with that, the manager forgot to order the nightstand so ANOTHER Tuesday comes and goes and I call inquiring to find out if i could come get it, and no. Its not in their system. At this point, I am beyond mad. I would have rather spent extra money and bought my set from a reliable and caring source than this store. The store had no answers as to why this hadnt been ordered for the SECOND time and no solutions, only told me to call back tomorrow to talk to the Manager. Well, when i called back the next day my call was magically forwarded to the customer care number, and this was the first time i was cared for as a customer. She was able to schedule my repair for the following day and located the nightstand we wanted and called the store to order it. Well...this is where I gave up, the store ordered the wrong nightstand...so when I went to pick it up and saw it was wrong, the store continued to make excuses. When I pulled up proof that it was the stores fault and that customer service gave them the right number, i didnt recieve an apology or immediate care. They actually tried to keep my payment and wanted me to come back in another week to pick it up, with no proof they ever reordered it....so i refused to leave without a paper copy proving that this piece was ordered and to be delivered in one week. I then call customer service to report this entire incident, not because i want my money back or a discount but to inform them that they have a broken system and their customer service is awful. Thats when i am informed that they dont even have a division to report stores poor service, talk about a broken system!!!!!! There isnt even a way to hold a store accountable for poor service and incompetency! With that being the case, i had to write a review because NO ONE should have to go through the stress, anxiety, and inconvenience this store has caused me and my husband. I have never been so disappointed with a sales team in my life and i refuse to ever let any friends or family buy from this store if this is how they treat their customers. As for us, we have to hope that next week the right nightstand is delivered....which again, i wont hold my breath. At this point, I just want this to be done so I never have to deal with them again. In summary: terrible customer service, no store or individual accountability, and poor customer relationship. STAY AWAY! read more

salesperson was great but everything else was terrible. Paid cash up front, probably should not have. Bought a bedroom suite on labor day and the first piece did not arrive until thanksgiving. They deliver four pieces and everyone of them was damaged. Had to have one piece delivered three times and not he final time the reliever team fixed it with a machine screw. Two pieces are still broke have contacted the store numerous times and now they just do not return my calls. They did send me $100.00 for my trouble but considering I spent nearly 5k and they have failed to make things right this is hardly compensation. I wish I would've looked on Yelp before purchasing from this location, as I see 98% of the other customers have had a very similar experience. First, I would like to say my sales lady, Diva was exceptional. She helped me to find the ideal bed that I'd been looking for; however, the service from this store went downhill after receipt of my payment for the bed. I received the wrong footboard, the day of delivery and as a result, I had to arrange for another deliver date. Keep in mind, I have to arrange to be off AGAIN and home during the week because weekend delivery is an extra surcharge. One of the managers, Dave Williams, gave me THEE hardest time. First, he insisted on debating with me about what parts were delivered to my home, which in my opinion was irrelevant to the situation at hand. I also do not think he was trying to address my concerns in a timely manner. I had to drive all the way back to the store, in order to talk with him and get him to help me with moving forward. Secondly, Dave Williams stated that I would be issued a refund for the delivery fee I paid. When I asked to simply get an email stating that I'd be granted a refund upon delivery, he gave me a hard time about that. He never sent the email and when I called again, he seemed agitated that I was even requesting such a thing. It's been a week after my calling to the store to notify that the items had been delivered and I still have not received my refund. I will definitely be notifying the overall store manager. Going forward, I will never make another purchase from this location again because as a paying customer, I do not think that I received the customer service I deserved. read more

Extremely bad experience. Please do not buy furniture from this store. The Manager and the delivery department are extremely unaccountable. We bought sofas from this store and the only reason we bought was because we wanted it before thanksgiving holidays. They promised us the delivery date on the 23rd, the day before thanksgiving. I was also asked to call the delivery department to remind them to give me a call to schedule the date and time for delivery...really??? What kind of sloppy work ethic is that? Anyway, I called and seems like other people's furniture was loaded in the truck and was all set for delivery but ours wasn't in it. I was told the manager would call and he never did. I can go on and on about the negative experience I had . Don't want anybody else going through crappy experience like this so please never ever shop at this store. read more

I have been buying my furniture at IKEA for years and thought since I bought a house I would dress it up with some nice comfortable sofa's instead of the modern lines I was used to with the Scandinavian furniture. A neighbor told me to check out the store because of the "sale" they were having from an ad on TV. I am not a furniture expert am not one to take to much advice from sales people unless I ask, but I walked into a shark tank when I opened those doors. The store looked promising from the outside, but I didn't realize that price tags were negoitable inside. It's not a practice that I am used to here in America. My salesman gave me more than a mouthful as soon as I tried to steer away from the crowded front. I told him I was fine and said I would get him if I needed assistance. I couldn't pronounce his name if I tried and and wish I wrote it down to report him to corporate. If I owned a business I would not want my employees riding coat tails and not to mention texting in between watching over me as if I was going to put a couch under my jacket. Needless to say I did not buy one thing and will NOT be back to spend my hard earned money. I am from Silver Spring and googled surrounding furniture stores and found an awesome store called Belfort! I am making decisions now and gladly giving my $5000 furniture budget to them. read more

Monday passed and nobody got back. Tried calling the customer service, was on hold for 40 min, nobody picked up. I've had an extremely poor experience with the delivery of my furniture. Not only were they delayed by a month they could not seem to figure out the delivery schedule. I was informed it would be delivered next week. To my surprise, I received a notification yesterday that it was coming the next day. Thankfully my work schedule lined up so I prepared for my delivery to arrive today. The delivery guy was on time and polite however he only had half of my order. When I called customer service all Holly could tell me was that it should've been on the tuck and delivered all at once. I told her that was not the case and Holly replied for me to tell the delivery guys to call the dispatcher and then to call the store. She was not helpful at all, she did not empathize or apologize for my experience and gave me a task to follow up vs. her following up and getting back to me. I called the store and they had to call the warehouse. I still do not have my furniture nor do I know when I'm going to receive it. Keep in mind I already broke down and put my old bed in the garage to prepare for a delivery I never received. I still did not get a follow up call from customer service or the Manager at the store. Overall a very poor customer experience. read more

TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO ANOTHER RETAILER! So I want to start this review by stating I have been in retail over 15 years and this is my 1st ever review because I don't wish my experience on anyone. We purchased over 3k in furniture on May 27th with a promised delivery day of June 14th when we moved into our new house. The young lady that helped us was inexperienced which didn't bother me one bit because we all have to start some place. The GM Kevis was involved in the entire sales process from start to finish and actually processed the order to expedite things. So 1st they never followed on the expected delivery date. I called on June 11th to ensure that furniture would be delivered on time and customer service girl stated it would be delivered on or around the 19th. I told her that we explained in detail to Kevis we needed it on the 14th and he promised the 14th would be "no problem" to meet our needs and expectations. So I asked to speak to a manager and she stated she would have Kevis would call me back. Of course he never did so on the 12th I called again and got "he's with a customer" so at this point fed up I drove to the store. I told Kevis I would like a full refund and he said give him a second to figure it out. He went through piece by piece and said one piece of the sectional wouldn't arrive at the warehouse until the 14th at which time I told if he couldn't get it done on the 15th I would take my business some where else. He said that he would have everything expedited for delivery on the 15th. Again, on the 13th I called to ensure we would get the furniture on the 15th as expected the customer service lady stated it would be delivered on the 16th and one piece was either lost, damaged or stolen so the sectional would be missing a piece but the rest of the furniture would be delivered and the missing piece would be delivered on Tuesday June 19th. Again, against my better judgement I agreed and excepted the rest of the furniture and the sectional minus the piece. Again no follow up on there end, because I was out of town I didn't get around to calling them until June 20th to tell them they missed another date at which time they told me the piece of the sectional was sold out and wouldn't arrive at there warehouse until July 2nd. I asked the customer service to speak to Kevis and she stated he was off and she would get his Assistant GM Mike to call me back which he did a few hours later which he did (the 1st time anyone followed up, CONGRATS MIKE) and I explained the entire debacle and Kevis totally lied to us from start to finish I wanted them to come pick up the furniture. He said he couldn't make that call and he needed to call the home office to get approval. Of course just like Kevis he didn't call back meaning the apple doesn't fall from the tree. So I hired a moving company this morning to come pick up the furniture tomorrow June 22nd and set it in front of the store. Again, I never written a review but I will say stay far away this place it's a complete nightmare and full of lies. The date you asked for your furniture to be delivered means that they hope it'll be in the warehouse on that date. PAY ATTENTION to the fine print this place is a complete joke and the GM Kevis is the worst. I also called the Director of Customer service Beenie and just like Kevis and Mike she never called back. GOOD LUCK SHOPPERS! I will post the invoice later and a picture the furniture being sat in front of the store to validate my experience. read more

Buying furniture at this Ashley furniture was one of the most stressful buying experience I've ever had! We purchased a tempur pedic mattress (king size). Upon delivery it turns out that it didn't fit our bed frame due to the error of another company who sold us a Cal king bed frame rather than a king! Long story short..delivery guys broke the frame, fixed it, I did not accept the mattress and asked for a cal king, paid $139 extra for a redelivery fee (fine our fault) and $40 to have delivered on Saturday a week later..had cal king delivered but wrong height size box spring, kept it until Ashely can give us the right height size. They came another week later to deliver on Saturday and box spring was right height but a king size not cal king so it was wrong again!!! Finally after he's avoided my calls, Spoke to manager Christian, he apologized for the miscommunication of his staff and promised me to delivery to accommodate a weeknight and refund $40. Next day he calls and says he can't do weeknight and told him I wanted to speak to his manager for refund of $139. He said his manager can only refund that so I said fine have her call me. He promised she would call me next day. Until now(almost a month later) no refund of $40 and still haven't gotten a call from his manager. In between all this mess I've had to waste time calling to get this straightened out and still no resolution to my promised $40 refund by him and a call from manager of customer service!! And it took an entire month to get the right size finally!! I gave up trying but here's a review for you Ashely...a horrible experience!!! Never again will I shop here...EVER!! read more

After my sales experience at the Dulles store, which was great...I recommended the store & salesperson to my sister who just bought a home as well as, along with several neighbors in my new community. However i quickly changed my mind when i had to deal with their customer service, and the level of satisfaction from the customer. Once they have you money, that is ALL they are concerned about, my guess is because they aren't a high level quality furniture, as opposed to Haverty's across the street. Dealing with the Sales Manager at the Sterling location, and their offsite CSR reps, i learned VERY QUICKLY that the customer is never right! They tried to coerce me into coming back to buy more merchandise, while they would give me a discount, WHY WHY WHY would i spend more money at a place when one isn't satisfied with what they originally bought? Instead of trying to fix the first issue, they thought i would be happy to buy more?! What kind of Sales technique is that, especially when your store already has TONS of terrible reviews! Stay away from this store, much less i would stay FAR away from Ashley Furniture in general, its worth it to pay a bit more for these significant costly household items to get the quality of service & quality of craftsmanship NOT Quantity, as that is their #1 concern. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE! Salespeople know nothing about furniture. They'll tell you everything is top quality, when in fact, Ashley sells nothing that is close to being of any quality at all. Delivery takes MONTHS!! We still haven't gotten a piece we ordered in early July (That's three months for cookie cutter, mass manufactured furniture...but they'll be sure to charge you right away. The delivery process itself is a whole other nightmare with a delivery company that doesn't answer the phone, doesn't return calls, and doesn't call to schedule your delivery. One of the most unprofessional organizations I've ever come across. PAY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEWS...note there is nothing positive really in any of them. SHOP ELSEWHERE. You may think you're saving money, but you won't. It is definitely worth a few extra dollars to go to a nicer store somewhere else. This store itself, apart from incompetent salesmen, cannot track customer orders and they generally have no idea whats going on with orders. HORRIBLE business. read more

Well all the recent reviews are accurate, I ordered a bedroom set for my son Labor Day weekend. I was told it would be here by third week of October. Did t arrive and no call, I called and they stated it will be second week of November. Asked to speak with a manager spoke with some one at the star, they are going g to research and call me back. No call. Again I called customer care first week of December, they expect it to be delivered to their warehouse in a week, heard that before, but they would absolutely have someone call me and discuss if they can do something to rectify the situation. Still not one call, I just want to cancel the order at this point. I guess i will have to go to the store and discuss with someone and inform other potential shoppers not to buy. This has been a terrible experience, they have had at least 3 opportunities to address and not once have they tried. Like other people, I also vowed to never shop here again after 1 horrible experience. I ended up deciding to buy the console table that went with the set we bought about 5-6 months ago, to put into our foyer so that everything would match. I had a different sales person this time who was a little on the "shady" side (Chris - female). When I asked how much shipping was for this 1 small table, she just said $90, nothing else. We got a call from the delivery people and they said they would only deliver on Wednesday or Thursday because we had discounted shipping. I just called the store and explained what happened and spoke with Isela and she said sorry, but it's on your sheet and someone highlighted it when you checked out. I asked why no one actually said this to me and just kind of did it on the back end and she said sorry but there is nothing we can do unless you want to pay an additional $50 - to deliver a foyer table. I said, there is something you can do, you just aren't willing to and this was my third occasion buying something at the store - I'm a repeat customer! I can't believe that they aren't willing to do this for me and deliver the stupid table on a Saturday, now we have to take off of work, when this was not explained to me UP FRONT! (I'm sorry, I am one of the stupid people that don't read the fine print and don't think the worst of my sales person) The last 2 transactions I had, did not have this problem. The first time I had a coupon for free shipping and they delivered on Saturday and the second time I paid $90 and they delivered on Saturday! I'm not willing to spend anymore time and effort on this, because during my last transaction I called the manager multiple times and he just ignored me, never called me back and had someone else who was SO RUDE call me and make me feel terrible. I came to the Dulles Town Plaza store on April 3rd and purchased $1,700 of furniture from sales person Reggie Harvey. I was told prior to leaving the store that my furniture should be delivered by April 9th or within the next 2 weeks. After two weeks I called every week and was told to call back in a couple of days. More than a month passes and I call again and I'm given a potential time frame of May 25th but nothing is guaranteed. Today (Wednesday May 4th) I asked for a refund and I'm told that not only is no manager or assistant manager is available before Saturday and that a refund isn't an option they can provide store credit minus a 30% restocking fee ($521). Do to no fault of my own the company claims it can take $521 and provide me store credit for a furniture store that I can't get anything delivered. How does that store credit provide me any value ? I contacted a lawyer friend of mine and what Ashley Furniture actions are not defensible in court. All agreements must include offer, acceptance and consideration. We recently purchased a reclining sofa for our basement and we were assured that the recliner will be able to get into our narrow basement because it could be split into two. Well, when the recliner arrived, the installers were not able to split into two and had to take the recliner back. We were so disappointed and called the sales representative. Rahul Grover, the sales representative quickly called up few folks and confirmed that the recliner could definitely be split into two pieces and installers didn't know how to do it. He arranged for a redelivery with detailed notes for the installers. This time installers were able to get the recliner into our basement and we are happy. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE! THEY PRESENTED MY CREDIT CARD BANK WITH PROOF OF DELIVERY WITH A FORGED SIGNATURE!! I paid $740 in full upfront for two chairs which were supposed to take two weeks to arrive. When I called after the third week the store manager told me they had no record of my purchase. I asked if we could look in their receiving dock just in case the chairs came in and had my name on them. They said that wouldn't work. Since they couldn't find my purchase order they could't refund my money. So I disputed it with Bank of America. Ashely Furniture was able to find my order documents and they faxed them to BOA WITH . BOA denied my claim because it was an "authorized transaction". I never disputed that it was an authorized transaction. The dispute was that I never received the furniture. Ashley Furniture told me it would take 6-8 weeks to process a refund. After 8 weeks now they tell me it will take another 6-8 weeks.
