Yes, I might look fancy and the furniture might look nice but when it comes right down to it unless you literally pay thousands and thousands of dollars the stuff you get just is not worth it. I paid $500 for a "firm" mattress which feels like I'm laying on jelly, and the $500 recliner doesn't even hold up my feet. Because of the massive snowstorm that literally just happened there was nobody in the store, so I was unable to call and actually discuss my concerns with anybody because after 24 hours, they apparently will not do any sort of return or exchange, all I want is a chair that I can sit in which supports my feet and my head does not lay back at a 90° angle read more

DJ was an excellent salesman. He answered my questions and was helpful without being pushy.

Quality of furniture is cheap for the price. Within months leather wore out and swivel base broke. They replaced some of the leather but refused to repair all of the bad spots. Been waiting months for repairs but they took our money and ghosted us. I filed complaint with the BBB and Ashley refuses to answer them. DON'T BUY FROM THEM. read more

Long story short. I have been buying from this store for about 5 years now. The quality of the furniture is fine. But, if you have a problem with something breaking or find it is damaged after you purchase it, good luck. The customer service is great when they are selling you something. Now, trying to get a product fixed or replaced is another story. I am to the point of contacting the NY State Attorney Generals office . Unfortunately, I am unable to give less than a 1-star review. However, I need to share my experience of the type of professionals to consider. In today's age I expect as a woman to contact a business and receive fair treatment. Turns out the manager, Sam Pirofsky does not live by the same value. After receiving what I thought was the store number (turns out it was his personal number) he started to offer inappropriate actions in return for a 5-star review for his store..... The owner, manager, Sam is not a nice person. On top of that, the furniture is assembled by his employees. They did a terrible job. Not even making sure bolts and nuts are tightened. How bad? the legs of chairs aren't even on the floor. Check prices with other Ashleys locations and you will often find it cheaper elsewhere. Sam laughs when I ask him if the TV ads are his, he say, "no, they are ads from the vermont stores" but he gets the business from the ads while charging more than the Vermont store. Never doing business with Ashley Store again. I ordered a bed set at the end of November and It was expected to be delivered to me a few days after Christmas. The day of my scheduled delivery they called to let me know the parts for my bed was damaged from being shipped. They waited the day of my delivery just tell me the bad news and worst of all I'll have to wait about another month for the pieces to get to their warehouse! Our situation was unfortunate - The staff at Ashley's was mostly pleasant during the sales process. We purchased the guardsman plan at the recommendation of the salesman, who assured the ease of replacement of the product if damaged. A simple cursory search of Guardsman will tell you everything you need to know about that unethical and deplorable company, but it is not what this review is about. After reaching out to Ashley's for replacement, they NOW indicated how difficult it would be getting anything approved through Guardsman, and that we had to stay aggressive with them to get anything done. In the end, Guardsman made an offer to us - keep the damaged furniture and receive a payment of $800 or receive store credit in the amount of $2,800 to use towards comparable furniture replacement as the furniture we had purchased was unavailable. This process took months to achieve. We accepted the store credit and contacted Ashley's Furniture Homestore, in Plattsburgh, who assisted us with our replacement purchase and finalized the transaction - indicating to contact them in a few weeks to determine a better idea of delivery timeframe. A few days later, we received an email from Guardsman indicating they had made an error in our "adjustment" for our replacement furniture and had reduced our "available credit" by nearly $1,000. A game of pass the blame ensued and in the end Ashley's Furniture of Plattsburgh manager "Sam" contacted us advising there was "nothing he could do" to help us and that even though the transaction was completed already, they would have no choice but to cancel our order without us paying the difference ourselves and have us start over in the selection process. Yes, we were asking for concession / accommodation from Ashley's based on the circumstance, not in the full amount as that was unrealistic, but a good faith effort on their part perhaps - even a fraction of sincerity and effort would have sufficed, however, during the conversation there was little empathy over the situation, and although he did admit that our local Ashley's Furniture of Plattsburgh is a relatively small family business, he did not seem to care what we thought of the situation or the resolution, to the extent that he laughed as he hung up the phone over our indication that we would be presenting the facts of our encounter to our friends and family (not that it would make a difference anyway)... Another local business, that during a time when shopping local should mean something, makes the continued mistake of lacking candor, lacking customer service, and remaining unsympathetic to the customer, will ultimately come full circle to yet another local business closure. Because we couldn't afford to lose our entire investment (offered in store credit), we completed our purchase and paid out of pocket. Our recommendation, take your business elsewhere, where genuine customer service may still exist. read more

My wife and I recently purchased a couch and love seat from Ashley's. They have a very large selection with nice staging. The salesman who helped us was very friendly and informative. We've had the furniture for a couple months now, and are happy with our purchase. read more

Honestly I'm not giving this business one star, I'm giving it less. For weeks I have searched in our area for a bedroom set. A family member has recently been diagnosed with cancer and has started chemo treatment. I want this person to be as comfortable as possible during treatment. I have been out of work due to the covid 19 pandemic, so I wasn't going to make a huge investment in a headboard. Yet, I was looking for something tasteful that would match our current furniture. My sister and I set out on a mission one afternoon and came across Ashley Outlet on Boyton Ave in Plattsburgh. We found a headboard that fit my criteria and purchased it. When I went back days later to pick it up, it had a huge hole in it. I questioned what had happened? I was told "its sold as is" very rudely by the girl behind the front desk. Yet, the day before we had look over the headboard and didn't see even a scratch. I asked to speak to the manager/owner I was told "he's not here". I asked for his name and was told "the employees are not allowed to give out his name" what kind of business is this when you can't have the name of the owner? Most businesses want to make a customer happy to assure their continued business. Please never go to this store Sam Pirofsky is a awful person and gives the other local businesses a bad name. We always try to support local businesses but this has put a very poor taste in our mouth. I work with the public and will tell everyone I know to never, never, never go to this terrible business. Now, we have no headboard and Sam Pirofsky has our money. We believe that is stealing! I don't know how Sam Pirofsky sleeps nights. My complaint is not about the furniture per say but rather the SCAM GUARDSMAN 5 year Furniture Protection Sham,,,,,uh I mean Plan. I paid $200.00 for this plan because the salesman told me how great it is and that if I had grandkids it would be crazy not to get it. They'll fix everything...no problem he told me. He did reenforce the fact that I had to hold onto the original policy and receipt for the furniture, but he forgot to mention that you had to report the damage within 5 working days. I didn't report the damage to my wood furniture within the 5 days after it happened...I believe it was two weeks. It took me that long to find the policy itself which you must have or they won't work with you at all!!! I never even gave a thought to a timeframe...I've had protection plans before and there was never a timeframe...as long as you called within the 5 years of the contract itself. Shame on you Ashley for working with such a disreputable company. I've read hundreds of complaints from people all over the country who complained within the five days and Guardsman still found a loophole and didn't repair the furniture. We also asked Ashley for some assistance in this matter....the furniture purchase was almost $10,000 dollars. They offered us no help either and would not give us a refund on the Scam Guardsman Policy. I'm done with Guardsman and I'm done with Ashley. Too bad for them...I still have half a house to furnish and I was planning on going back to them for the purchase. Not now...not ever! read more
