Looking for t-shirts, I stopped here and checked it out. The store is typical of the Target brand and layout with wide aisles and bright lights. The men's wear section was right where it's supposed to be and it was a mess. As were other clothing areas. I don't know if someone had been through here recently and the store employee's just hadn't caught up to it, or if this had been here a while, but there was merchandise tossed on tables, tossed on shelves and generally unkempt. Pricing was typical for Target and the quality of the items are the same here as any other Target. The store is attached to the Champlain Centre mall so there is plenty of parking. Target I got Reese's at but didn't find any great deals. I did get my Starbucks which was made with love

So I wanted to give a shout out to Kathleen who was the cashier who assisted me in the checkout line. It had been awhile since I had been to a Target store in person (living in Saint Albans, VT w/o a car) is tricky and it's kind of secluded from everything else which probably time I look for another city to live in lol...no offense to Saint Albans, but Plattsburgh, NY had this one commercial center that had like all these different stores and Target was located in what I think was called The Champlain center but don't quote me on it. It had a DSW and Five Below which I also visited prior to going to Target. Now I did take off a star because in terms of cleanliness, there was much to be desired. The bathrooms were very dirty and unkempt, the shelves were not stocked with a lot of things in some aisles (granted it was just Christmas so I have to cut them some slack), but I came from having a Target in Mosaic in Falls Church, Virginia that was immaculate so they have some pretty big shoes to fill. Also, things were misplaced, like I found battery packs where the deodorant was lol but I made do. I also don't think they had as wide of a selection of some things. For example, when I went to the greeting cards section because I like to mail letters/send cards, the selection of cards they had was sub par. AGAIN, and I repeat, it was the holidays so maybe they are out of stock of somethings but perhaps they made a sign to let people know that ‍but what made up for the lack of cleanliness and organization was the lady who assisted me in the checkout aisle. She was very patient as I was trying to bring up the Target credit card on Target app. Apparently, i had to redownload my credit card onto the app, which involved me having to input the card details, verify my identity through text with a OTP (one-time pin) and she said something funny to me but also reassured me to take my time. She also advised me to scan some items beforehand on the app through Target Circle in order to accrue more savings which if it wasn't for her I would have been spending $52 vs. $39. So I have to thank her for her kindness and generosity. It's people like Kathleen that make shopping experiences great. I didn't take any photos but I am sure that this Target gets enough foot traffic where photos are not necessary. Would I still go back if I was ever in that town again? Sure, but maybe I would stop off at Walmart first instead. On the plus side, they did have a Starbucks cafe in there which I can never say no to Starbucks lol and I got to use my Target credit card to pay for my coffee:) The girl at the counter there was very nice as well. read more

Daddie and Dirk went to target to f^ck around. Daddie and Dirk headed to the toy isle like normal. Daddie decided to exact revenge on Dirk by pelting a toy ball at Dirk. Dirk went to retaliate, however an unruly employee came over and said "Hey guys, you can't throw the balls". This greatly upset Daddie and Dirk. So much to the point that while Daddie and Dirk were walking away they reunited forced and wished a deathly plague upon her entire f^cking blood line. Especially her brother. Daddie and Dirk were made so uncomfortable by her, that Daddie and Dirk didn't even get to make their second lap around target. Daddie and Dirk left with bitter hearts and raging limbs begging to beat the f^ck out of her. Therefore target gets 4 stars. Thank your stupid employee (her name is probably sherall). Target is Daddie and Dirk approved. That employee is not. read more

This place is a joke. It's attached to the mall in Plattsburgh. Clearly gets decent traffic, but there's employees everywhere. Doing what? Certainly not keeping things together. This is the 4th time I've come to this target from 2 hours away, and each time it has been a gauntlet of stray merchandise, giant push carts filled with merch still in boxes, and employees chatting about their bosses they hate. I came 3 weeks before Thanksgiving and all of the Christmas items were nearly all still boxed up. I came today, a Monday at 2 pm, and this place is a disaster. It's not just the Christmas decor area. There's stuff piled everywhere. In the Christmas area, there's broken ornaments strewn across shelves, and toys crammed into corners. This is insane. read more

The second time I've been to a target, yes ever, second time ever. I just had to go to the chic-fil-a grand opening and because of the long drive, I decided to bundle a few reviews/visits into one trip because both businesses are awesome and why resist? This target was a bit messy actually. DVDs on the floor, random things in random places, shopping carts and employee organization things blocking up cart traffic! I did buy a few things I love! Like a fall pie ceramic dish, a recipe card container (what are those called?) some Halloween gummy fingers, strawberry and cream marshmallows, fruit snacks and my favorite purchase was a cute sweatshirt that I found in the men's section! Its a bit warm for 60 degrees but will be perfect for chilly nights. I asked for some help from a girl working in that area and she was a lot of help! Very nice and professional! All and all, a good place, I'm sure I would never be able to walk out of a target empty handed! read more

In case you haven't heard yet, there's finally a Target in the area. It opened during the first week of October 2008. Currently, it's the mecca of everyone living in upstate NY, Vermont, Canada and who knows where else. You can tell from the parking lot, which is packed with cars having plate numbers from varied states (US and Canada). Target is annexed to the Champlain Centre Mall. It has a food kiosk serving pita bread combos and the usual (chicken fingers, mac n' cheese, popcorn, etc.) and a Starbucks. What else can I say? It's a Target! I love Target! The merchandise is just great! But I'll give an update after several months to give feedback of how it transitions once it's been visited by just about everyone in the area. And oh, their carts look like they've been designed to be weather-proof! No squeaky wheels and rusty wires! read more

While the grocery selection is not as varied as Walmart's and prices are a bit higher (though they price match). I prefer Target. I'ts cleaner, nicer, not as crowded and a lot more upscale than Walmart. The food counter is also yummy and very well priced It's always an afterthought when travelling to Plattsburgh, but not next time read more

In a world of dirty and weird people infested Walmart, this Target is a welcome sight for sore eyes. Awesome collection of everything. I found a tent that was $20 cheaper than it was at Walmart. So prices are certainly competitive. read more

If you follow my reviews you see a pattern. If you don't follow my reviews, then let me just tell you now. I tend to look more favorably upon small town franchise locations as opposed to make city ones. It's really simple. Better organized. Genuine customer service. Less bullshit. Same applies to this one. I've never had a price match issue here. They actually seem to know their own company policy, and trust me that goes a long way. The parking lot had some spaces. The one major drawback to this location is their Starbucks. This one does not accept member exclusive offers. In other words of you have coupons or exclusive offers emailed to you, they will not honor them. Reason being because it is party of Target. I never knew that. Just something to keep in mind. I eat totally caught off guard with this morning. That's cool though. All is well still. read more

This target is part of one mall in Plattsbugh and it includes a Starbuck. What I like is that on the way to and from Montreal, it is an easy stop from the I-87, there is ample parking, I can get a coffee or tea (most often Chai), get some cash back with my purchase (which saves me a stop at an ATM), use the restroom and be back on my way quickly (along with any other item I happened to need). read more

This is the worst Target I have ever shopped at. I previously moved from the West Coast and the Targets there are much cleaner and operate smoother--and they have way more foot traffic. The last several trips, heck every trip to the Plattsburgh Target have been extremely annoying. The store looks like it has been ransacked everytime I walk in. I never buy anything because you can not access the merchandise (sloppy, clothes on the ground, loud-rude employees). I talked to the manager and expressed my displeasure and he just seemed "happy" with the way things are. I'm going to push up to corporate. Long story short, Wal-Mart looks better! After talking with the stores manager, she also could care less. This may be a small town, but I will not spend money at a craphole. read more

I've shopped at target for many years with no trouble at all but the first time I used the customer service desk I got into an argument with management!! I just purchased a pair of H390 logitech headphones for 30$ which they were clearly used because there was tape unevenly sealing the box up which clearly meant that someone pervoiusly returned them without a box, and they had to put the headphones in another box. I returned to target about 4 hours later requesting a return. The employee in the front desk called for her manager becaue she was unable to give me a refund because the serial number on the headphones and box were different. Yes that sounds suspicious but the headphones were in a different box then they were originally. The manager failed to see this and refused to give me a refund and cutting me off when I was trying to explain to her the reason for the different serial number. I am I hospitality major 3rd year in and it is sad to see poor customer service hands on when this is the field I love. I called corporate and they called the store and then let me know that the target in plattsburgh are unwilling to give me my refund. Lucky corporate belived me and gave me my refund. I'm not saying target is bad but the one in plattsburgh you should stay away from. Poor customer service and managers who argue with you because they cant see the big picture and the real reason behind things. That is poor managment to not even realize that your store switched boxes of my item. And I called this morning to try explain the issue to the top manager trying to tell him that everything was solved but I just wanted to explain to you what happened. I was excited when this opened, because I had been driving to Manchester, NH from VT for Target trips. I've been 3 times and have been underwhelmed each time. This Target doesn't even compare to the one in Manchester. It's disappointing. Each time I go looking for a pecific product, it's not there. Staff members have told me that they are a "C" location. (???) So it's a Target, but not a great one. Too bad, I think the area would support better (and more) products. read more
