Not only did he assist us respectfully in choosing a sofa but because of his patience and support, we ended up with enough new furniture to fill three rooms! Jesse Hernandez is their only person who kept this rating from dropping below four stars. The warehouse people came with our adjustable bases and mattresses, but they would not remove the old mattress because "it had stains". This was absolutely untrue. Jesse said there were no stains. I took photos to prove it. They also said it had to be wrapped in plastic which was not in the contract that we signed. They also said they needed the "right gloves" to move the old mattress and they didn't have them. Would they ever have thought to bring the "right gloves" just in case? They obviously were using any excuse they could think of not to take the mattress even though it was on our order. My wife and I are older, so we couldn't remove the old mattress and frame. We were at the point of rejecting the delivery when I called Jesse - our sales rep. He said he would come from the store and make it happen and he did. He came over. Removed the mattress and frame from the bedroom himself without the help of the warehouse staff. The warehouse men then moved our new beds into the room and set them up. Everything worked fine. After the warehouse crew left, Jesse took the mattress and frame out to the side of our house for the city to pick up. This incident reminded me of something that my dad once told me: It doesn't really matter what is in writing. The thing that counts is the agent who you make the deal with - his personality, integrity, and honesty. Jesse Hernandez is exemplary in all these categories and is an asset Ashley's should be proud of. The warehouse people - well, that's another issue. I purchased a power reclyner chair from this store. After I got it home, I realized it was uncomfortable for me. I called the store several times trying to return it or exchange it for another one. I have been going to Ashley's for my home needs for quite sometime now but the last couple times the customer service has been lacking. The over all selection and pieces are great, and they typically have great deals too. My husband and I were looking for a dining set. They have these deals for a 5pc dining set (899) or 14 pc set. (1299) We asked Breana about prices and first she said it was set price, but then would mention a 40% deal and would give us a different and more cheaper price? So obviously we thought what she was referring to was the cheaper prices cause why else would she tell us that price? (She said it would be around 600 for the 5pc set) ok cool. So we are about to be rung up and it came out to be 1200 like woah woah woah, hold on where is that number coming from??? She then condescendingly asks what we don't understand and kept pressuring us on what to do. I get it, changing our minds can be annoying but no need to be rude, especially when I don't know, you said it would be 600 and now it jumped to 1200??? Even the manager said the dining sets were 40% off so its like??? Do the associates even know their own deals or prices? It is just really frustrating because if the 40% is referring to a SINGLE ITEM (let's say for example, just the table, not the set) THEN SPECIFY THAT CLEARLY. After she kept pressuring us, we declined all together cause at this point it seemed way too sketchy and she had the audacity to sputter out, "haha oh my God, ok its fine..." visibly annoyed. The experience at the store was ok. The sales person followed us around which I don't like, commission should be a thing of the past. But the sales aspect is minor I'm used to it having worked in retail in the past. Overall experience with the sales person was great and they even matched the pricing of an online dealer. Here's where things really got frustrating. I received a call two days before our couch was supposed to be delivered and they stated the delivery date had to be moved to Saturday due to it being back ordered. I figured two more days no big deal so I never called back figuring they will call me to let me know the delivery date. I call them back Friday as I had never heard back from them on a delivery time. The lady puts me on hold to check on the delivery time for me and comes back with and attitude, as if to blame me, saying it will not be delivered until next Saturday. When I choose a delivery date they should have a reasonable system to ensure that delivery dates are accurate. I am shopping around again to see if I can get something delivered sooner. My fiance and I were looking for a new bed because I have Degenerative Disc Disease and the pain of sleeping on an older futon became unbearable. We came to Ashley Furniture and was helped by Benny. Benny was a bit pushy on the sale but not too bad. I explained to him that I am in constant pain and need a softer mattress. We purchased a Ultra Plush pillow top. After sleeping on it for a few nights, we discovered it was much harder than the one in the showroom and I was in A LOT of pain. Also the memory foam became extremely hot at night. (Which is now AWFUL because we moved to Oak View during this process and it's VERY hot in Oak View, so makes sleeping that much more terrible.) We came back into the store in hopes to make a single exchange to a normal type mattress because I had never had much issue sleeping on those. We met with the Manager of the store and explained our situation. I let him know about my disease and he claimed to have the same thing. He told me "We do not do exchanges here". He wanted to try and sell me another piece to the bed that lifts it from underneath. I WAS NOT LOOKING TO PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE! I JUST WANTED AN EXCHANGE SO THAT I COULD HAVE A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS OR HOWEVER LONG WE HAVE THE BED. I worked for a furniture company in Grapevine Texas for 11 months, and we offered 1 exchange. We had one instance where the mattress was exchanged twice, but the woman had a medical condition and provided medical proof. Unfortunately they would not exchange the mattress. We were not previously warned before buying the mattress than we could not exchange it. It would be a different story if the pain was not as bad when sleeping on it. I can't even sleep on the mattress most nights, I actually get a better nights rest (Still painful however) on my couch. So THANK YOU Ashley's for caring more about making money than helping people. Paid cash for leather sectional 2 1/2 years ago. Also bought the warranty that covers everything. After about 2 years the leather started cracking and peeling. We are hardly even home, so couches are barely used. I was told by the GPS warranty place that the damage wasnt covered, even though the pamphlet says it is. Contacted the corporate office and they offered me cash, but its not even enough to fix the damage. The manager, Mike, said he remembered the couches and said he'd get us a new couch. We had a wonderful experience. We were able to take advantage of a major sale. We received excellent service by Rose and her manager Paul. The only thing which we found to be awful was the music they are required to play. It was loud and obnoxious. Not conducive to shopping. I couldn't wait to leave due to music. It turns out Ashley has their own radio station and the stores are required to play the awful stuff at a specific volume. Unbelieveable!! I provided my feedback to management. This was my only complaint. They have a great selection of furniture at reasonable prices. We even went to Living Spaces and we were very disappointed. Give Ashely's a chance! I had been searching for a dresser for a while and I was running out of places to look that wasn't online, didn't look cheap, and wouldn't take me hours to assemble. I was still hesitant to shop here because some of the bad reviews. One day as I was driving by I stopped at the store with no intention on actually buying anything I just wanted to look. I was greeted by a very friendly woman who informed me that there was 50% off the entire store which was great for me because I was shopping on a budget. The dresser she helped me pick out was exactly what I was looking for, fit my price range, and became an absolute steal when delivery to the room of my choice (and it was assembled) was just $69.99. DO NOT PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I purchased 3 separate items which cost me over $3000. I was sold an extended warranty that would cover damages for up to 5 years. Two of the products I purchased, a recliner and a sofa sustained accidental damage. Actually, the back cushion of the sofa started to fall apart, which the salesman told me the warranty would cover. I have two major complaints. First, we set a specific delivery date of Tuesday, June 19 because we were entertaining that night. I got a call Sunday confirming the date and time which I confirmed. The next day I got a call unilaterally changing the delivery date. This is truly unacceptable especially doing it at the last minute. Second, when I called back to try to talk to someone to try to reschedule original delivery date for at least understand why was change, I was on hold for over 45 minutes until customer service picked up and then they transferred me to another department which required me to sit on hold. I am very pleased with my recent purchase at the Ashley HomeStore in Oxnard. I've browsed their showroom a few times in the last 2-3 years, so I am aware of the good quality and wide selection that is displayed there in a relaxed, clean and comfortable atmosphere. I needed a new sofa to replace the overpriced, uncomfortable, bargain-basement quality piece (of you know what) I unwittingly purchased at the Urban Home store in February 2013, that had, due to shoddy (but well camouflaged) construction, become unusable. Having wasted $700 on the Urban Home disaster, I was not pleased to have to spend at least that much again so soon. So I perused Ashley a couple more times as well as some other local furniture stores. While a significant portion of Ashley's inventory is over my budget or larger than my space requirements, their price to quality ratio is so much better than the other places, I decided to buy there, and over budget if needed. Thisis where it gets really good... On a Sunday I found a sofa that was an excellent fit in comfort, style, size and color. The tag price was $649, and while there were many tagged "on sale" prices throughout the store, this one was not. I'm figuring with tax, delivery and protection plan about $800. I asked one associate about any additional discount and did not receive the desired response. I decided to go home give it some thought. I went back two days later. The associate who greeted me was Mr. Joseph Davis. I showed him the sofa I was interested in. When I explained I was there on Sunday and could not get any discount off the sticker price, but had decided to come back today and buy it anyway (because of the quality, style, comfort, size and color) he said there was a 20% discount available. By the time we were done, Mr. Davis and the Ashley company got me an additional discount down to $489 and added the 5 year complete protection plan at no charge! So I ended up spending less than the $700 I wasted at Urban Home in 2013, and got many, many times the comfort, quality, and convenience than I could have got anywhere else. If you live in the 805 area code and are looking for high quality furniture at a fair price, there's no reason to shop anywhere else. If you live farther away, there is very good reason to travel a little farther to Ashley HomeStore in Onxard. And if Mr. Joe Davis is there to help you, so much the better! read more

I came into the store excited to shop for a new bed frame for my apartment, but my experience was far from that. The sales person followed us around the store when I really just wanted to look at the bed frames in private and had mentioned that we would come find him if there was anything we liked. When it came to purchasing the bed frame, it took way too long. The sales person was very slow, and during the process misinformed me about delivery options. I was told that after choosing the date I would get to pick whether I wanted the bed frame to be delivered between 9 -11 or 1-3. This was NOT true, at all, as the automated system called me 48 hours before my delivery (AFTER I had already confirmed the date, which at this point could not be changed), instructing me that my furniture would be delivered between 1 - 4 PM. I pushed '2' to speak to a representative, and she gave me attitude and told me that it just depends on when the delivery truck is in my area. Okay, so now I'm irritated because I don't work at a job that allows me to just leave on the drop of a dime, but what happens next is even worse. One of the delivery guys calls me, at 9 AM, to tell me they are outside of my apartment! So luckily I only live 5 minutes away from work so I could rush over there for them to deliver my furniture (the delivery men were very nice, and did a great job setting up though. Definitely would rate those two men 5 stars). This whole process was extremely irritating, and nothing peeves me more than people who are uneducated when it comes to components of their job. I was lied to several times to get my sale, eg: cost of maintenance program, delivery time, and delivery cost. Financially it cost me an additional $300.00 then I was told by my salesman. I was guaranteed I would receive my couch the Saturday before Super Bowl, did not receive it until the Monday after. Then when I was not happy with my couch, I was basically told bummer, you signed the paperwork, and they did nothing for me. I called the day it was delivered to let them know it was damaged, and was told to leave a message and someone would call me back. A few weeks go by, and no one called me back so I had my husband call. They scheduled a date to come out and verify the damage, but never came or even called to reschedule. It's been over a month and we've had no luck. We bought a full set of furniture from the Oxnard store on Thanksgiving weekend 2013. The furniture is good quality and was delivered on Dec 14. The problem was the rail hardware for a bed drawer was damaged so the drawer can not be installed. Not a big problem right? So I thought. Ashley furniture sent a service person to fix the drawer but he said that customer service should have already sent a hardware set for him to install. So he called this in and ordered the set. After almost two weeks I called customer service for status. A manager told me it was already on the way. Another week and I called again. The customer service rep told me the parts were out of stock. Yes, their service manager outright lied to me. Now it's 1/29/14 and still no idea when the parts will arrive. Calling for status doesn't seem viable since I can't believe anything I hear from them. 1/30/14 OK, to be fair Mary Lou from their store just called to tell me to apologize and gave some credit to our account for the inconvenience. She said they would get the replacement parts out around 2/17...which is again a different story than their customer service gave. Mary Lou and her manager at the store do seem much more helpful than CS so we'll see - I'll post an update later. 4/24/14 Well since my last update I had three service visits. Visit 1 the service guy found the side of the bed was warped and ordered a new part. Visit 2 the warped side arrived but it was cracked by the monkey shipping guys. I bought a sectional from Ashley in April of this year. The guys brought it in set it up and said sign this paper, so I did.. It's been sitting in the same place since then.. my husband just noticed that on of the legs in the ottoman was lose he turned it around to see that the cover on the bottom was stapled all wrong. I called Ashley to let them know. They sent a technician to come look at it. He was going to replace the bottom cover but when he took the bottom off he saw that the frame was broken. They said they would fix it, but when I told the lady on the phone I wanted a new one she said that the insurance doesn't do that , we would have to have exchanged it within 72 hours.. So how are you suppose to know that your furniture is broken? Unless something like this happens.. I bought a recliner and that week I noticed that it was broken and that I returned! I bought a lift chair on Dec 4 two days later it didnt work. I called someone could come out on the 27 , they did and he couldn't fix it. Had to order parts the part came in today JANUARY 9 and guess what it doesn't work now we have to wait till the 21 of January for someone to come out again, and I'm sure we will have to wait for another part. Why since the chair was brand new didnt they just exchange it my husband needs that lift chair he has parkinson and ilt helps him stand up. I'm done with this place! My wife and I bought a new livingroom set and a dining set 3 years ago. Everything was fine. Nice furniture, smooth delivery. This year, we bought a new home and bought a bedroom set. Delivery was 3-4 weeks out from the time of purchase, this was not ideal, but we decided to deal with it. The day of scheduled delivery we were on the phone with the delivery drivers for AN HOUR AND A HALF talking them through finding our house (which is right on a main hwy). They were supposed to deliver a bed, 2 night stands and a bunky board (to replace our box spring). Well, they forgot the bunky board (which was in stock at the time of purchase). The delivery guys took pictures of what they brought to prove that an item was missing. But when we called customer service they said that they had the item as being delivered. It took over a week for them to get their act together and reschedule delivery. We now have a new delivery date that they didn't check with us before hand and plan to be out of town by the afternoon and won't promise us an AM delivery. Plus, my wife asked for the $149 delivery fee waived for the inconvenience and all they are willing to do for us is a $100 gift card. First, I am over a month removed from placing my order and don't have it all yet (and have been sleeping super high up in the air on my new bed+ old box springs + mattress.. which is why the bunky board is NEEDED ASAP). Second, why would I want a gift card from you when you already proved incapable of providing sufficient service? My suggestion is that if you want furniture next year, go ahead and order from Ashley... but if you want it in an efficient manner try ANYWHERE else. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. I've bought all of My home's furniture at this store and have bought the insurance (which covers burns, spills etc on everything). My dining room table had an accidental burn mark so I called the insurance. They went to check it out and then told me I had to go back to the store because the piece was cheaply made. I did just that. I spoke to the assistant manager Lee and he was useless. He said he'd get my info and pass it on to the manager, Micheal and I should receive a phone call by the next day. Two weeks passed and I never received a phone call from the manager. My husband and I decided to go once more to the store to try to resolve the issue, Micheal said that Lee never informed him of this and he would send me a replacement. He got my phone number and said he'd call by the end of the day to tell me when the table would be delivered. It has now been 4 days since then and still no call. We ordered a dining room table and they said it would be delivered on October 5th but it never came. When I called to ask them what's going on they said it was on back order and it wouldn't be delivered for another 2 weeks! I wouldn't have been upset about waiting another 2 weeks, however, they didn't even call to let us know that it wasn't going to come and we wasted a day waiting around. There's no communication and I find it hard to believe that the store didn't know it was on back order when we ordered it.
