Very bad customer service and return policy. I have been a client since 2018 but the company did send me a bad chair and refused to refund my money even though the chair came broken. They would only offer store credit. Patricia the sales person was great. The issue was that the sofa was delivered missing the pull down handle on the Warrior Peak reclining sofa. There is a strap on the showroom model. On the day it was delivered, I noticed the the strap handle was missing. I spent time sending photo's to customer service to someone named Mar Davis. The final BS excuse was that there was a design change and the sofa now doesn't come with a pull down strap. What? I have to get my fingers to look like a screwdriver to wedge my hand to get some leverage to get the table down. read more

I took the day off from work as it was supposed to be delivered between 9:30-1:30 pm. 1 hour before the delivery window, I received a call informing me of a delay on my deliver and new delivery date was 13 days later! They assured that they would try to get it delivered sooner, which they did, only late by 4 days but then our headboard arrived cracked, which we refused. Now that headboard will not be delivered for another 2 weeks! Contacted customer service and all they offered was a $25 coupon for my next online purchase. $25 after spending over 10 Times that amount! RIDICULOUS to say the least! read more

Look elsewhere when ordering material. Ordered a king size bed, along with my frame in August. I am still waiting on my delivery for the bed frame. No sense of urgency and lack of communication. Our original delivery date got pushed back 2 weeks. We were notified morning of our original delivery date and had already taken work off for the day to accept the delivery. We are still waiting for our frame as the rest of our bed and items sit in our room taking space. DO NOT BUY A RECLINER FROM THIS STORE! Spent $500 on rocker recliner. Floor model was great and exactly what I wanted. Abraham was the salesman who sold it to us, saying he would order the same model that we sat in. It gets delivered today and it is not the same chair. It's short in the back (I'm 5'2 and the back of the chair comes to the lower part of my head), so uncomfortable and stiff and feels like I'm being pushed out of it. It took forever to get a hold of them only for them to tell me that there is no return policy and basically "tough sh*t." No explanation on why the chair feels completely different, is shorter than the floor model, and not even trying to match the serial number of the one I purchased and the one that was delivered to make sure it was the same model! And seriously NO RETURN POLICY? Absolutely vile. Don't fall for the comfort of the floor models because you won't be receiving the one you want. read more

After 1.5 months we finally got parts of our orders delivered. We had to reschedule three times because they could not locate our address when we provided all driving instruction in details. They did not call to ask but rather just canceled the delivery. Now we are waiting for 2 more items to be delivered next month. These items are supposed to be ready now. Also, the coffee table we got is not new and there are blemishes. The services are very disappointing. we have been purchasing furniture from Ashley's in Oxnard for over 20 yrs now I realize why they only have 2 1/2 stars we purchased a living room set with two recliners on each side of the couch. The metal part of the couch has the biggest hum in it where you can't even sit on it it feels like it's going right up your rear and of course the technician comes out and says they cover everything except for cushion that they've come from China and we can't guarantee it. Horrible customer service I have called several different people at the Oxnard Ashley's and they just keep passing the buck. It's horrible customer service our salesman. Joni was amazing and talked us into the extend program that covers everything on your purchase for five years and it cost us $500 plus it's still under manufacturers warranty and they will not replace it. I will never shop there again please whoever is reading this do not shop Ashley's they try and get you to buy their extended warranty and they make it sound all good and nothing. It's absolutely zero coverage and then when you try to get a hold of somebody in customer service it's all through texting. You never speak to a real person in customer service never they said that they would they would email me never got an email from them, but they did text my husband on his cell phone when the account is under my name and my phone number and my husband is not a Texter so when I go to text them back, it's all through texting you never speak to anybody. We bought an oversized chair (sometimes called "chair and a half") at the Oxnard store for $536.24. We were not told "some assembly required," we were not told that the delivery service would not unpack or set up the (unwieldy) chair. The chair was delivered (it took a month to receive it) and left in my living room. It took quite a while to unpack it, and then I discovered that the feet needed to be attached with screws to the chair. The directions said to place the feet "one quarter inch from the corner edges and screw in using a screwdriver and the screws provided." The screw holes weren't marked AT ALL. Even with measuring from the edges and working in bright light, it was a tough go to line up those feet with the invisible holes. My husband ended up getting out his drill and creating his own holes. In screwing eight screws, there was never an indication of hitting a predrilled hole. We contacted customer service via text three times to explain the issues (not notified about having to unpack and assemble; needing to perfectly catch unmarked screw holes) and basically got friendly-sounding unhelpful advice (make sure to measure, work in bright light, gosh, we're sorry you're having such a bad time, what can we do to help?). When we asked to be compensated, we were offered (and yes, received, 5% back which was $26). Obnoxious experience. I believe this is mostly corporate's fault for selling an IKEA experience at Ashley prices without clearly informing the customer, although the Oxnard salesperson needed to explain the "some assembly required" FOR SURE. read more

Paid over $400 for warranty plan and attempted to use it for wood laminate peeling on dining room table but was told I hadn't reported damage within 30 days of discovery so it wasn't covered! Ashley has once again screwed up a simple order, and their customer service is the worst I have encountered. My wife and I visited the Oxnard showroom and were helped by Darryl Voss ( his business card says - Trusted Advisor). The experience in the store was pleasant, although the ordering process was very slow. Darryl said the 6 piece couch would be delivered in 23 days. I started receiving texts and emails asking to confirm that someone over 18 would be home to accept the delivery, which I responded, yes, every time (1 time should have sufficient). On the day of the delivery, a couch was delivered, but was the wrong color. I asked that they leave the couch until they can deliver the correct one, as I gave my old couch away in preparation for the new delivery. The delivery company said they cannot without an okay from Ashley Furniture. I spoke to four different customer service representatives and received different answers from all of them, with one actually saying the delivery people would come back today to drop off the couch to use while we wait for the correct one. I then received a text saying they cannot do anything until they close out the original order and it can take up to 48 hours to process the correct order. Who knows when I will actual have a couch to sit on! Unrealated, Darryl said they manufacture all their furniture in San Bernardino which is a lie since all the boxes say "Made in Vietnam". read more

Buyer Beware! The worst customer service I have dealt with in years. Do not trust them on anything! If you want to test them for yourself, try calling the store or customer care before shopping with them. Good luck getting a person on the line and even if you do, they will not be able to help you with anything. I recently bought a bedroom set from the Palmdale location. I made sure the items were in stock, agreed upon a delivery date, and paid. They began calling to reschedule delivery, to ultimately be told they do not know when the items will be in stock or be delivered. I spent over an hour on hold with customer care just to be told they cannot help and that I needed to call the store directly. I called the store directly just to be rerouted back to customer care. I called the store again just to listen to their machine operated answering service, hoping to get anyone to help. The woman I spoke to a half hour later with, said she could not refund the items until they were delivered back to the warehouse which they also cannot provide an estimated time for. read more

I purchased a couch from Ashley of Oxnard in late October. After three attempts, they have still not delivered the correct couch. Customer service has been rude and unwilling to resolve the issue, continually responding that only the store can assist me. The store will not take my calls. Patricia Riveria, the sales person who sold me the couch, blown me off. The manager Abraham that she asked me to call will not pick up the phone after our first polite conversation. The last time Ashley was here, they removed the first incorrect couch and abandoned it in front of my house, blocking my walkway, because we refused the next incorrect couch. The driver became so irrationally enraged he attempted to dolly the next incorrect couch into my house. When my elderly mother told him to stop and that he didn't have permission to take the incorrect couch in the house, he threatened her and then stated he was leaving to old couch in the yard just so it would cause a problem and cost us money to remove it. Ashley has done nothing to retrieve this abandoned couch and will not take this disaster off my credit, even though I do not currently have any of their merchandise. This has been a horrible situation, an absolute nightmare. Ashley apparently was sold to a hedge fund, and this is the new business model. I wish I had never set foot in the showroom. This has been a disaster. Do not buy from Ashley, they are not the company they were 18 months ago. I wish I could give negative stars. read more

All I wanted was a lamp. Just one table lamp. As soon as I walked in a saleslady pounced and when I told her that I only need one lamp she vanished! I found a lamp. Only took 15 minutes. My husband & were very disgusted by Art's attitude who is a sales person at Ashley's furniture in Oxnard. I was excited to shop for a new breakfast table. We walked in I asked Art if they have what I was looking for. He directed us to something similar. I grabbed my phone to search online from their website which I had screenshot a picture. He grabbed his tablet & said "here look here instead there's no service here..." I replied "I got service here" he then pushed tablet towards me & said "GRAB IT, GET IT" very aggressive I asked my husband to grab the tablet while I was still searching for my screenshot. Art sarcarsticlly said "Orale !!!like that!?" I didn't respond or reacted. Then I realized the table I want is from a different store. So I started browsing the tablet at the options while my husband was holding it. My husband was asking me "how about this one??" I responded "no I didn't like that one" we were shopping. Art interrupted by saying "well maybe you need to go to Ethan Ellen but you'll be paying over $1,500 or more!" I replied "but the customer gets what they want" I started to sense some rude aggressive sarcastic attitude from Art so I got up and thanked him and wished him a good day Art replied " Oh I will!!" Then as we're walking and he's walking behind I told him I'm a sincere voice "Art you need to work on your sales tactics" he then said " I JUST MIGHT!" followed by " you'll come back we get a lot of returning customers!" A lot of options, but one thing I hate is when you walk in and the sales associates flock to you. I told him that we were just looking around (it was our first time looking around for furniture). Normally, they will leave you be whilst you look but this visit they were following us around and staring very obviously at us. It made me feel very uncomfortable. Besides this, they were very pleasant when speaking and the store itself has a ton of options. If you are looking for a place that does delivery on many of their options they do not do delivery. They are a bit expensive, but have good finance options and plenty of sales. They also have a clearance area and a few cheaper options. read more

Horrible place to buy your furniture. We were scammed. We bought $4K couches only for them to be peeling 2.5 years later. The sales lady Darla Wellman told us they were leather couches, we had no reason to not believe her nor did it cross our mind that she would be lying to us in order to sell and make that commission from our purchase. I've called several times: The 1st time they didn't make any notes on my account. That person was Jemia. All she did was post the pics she asked me to send while on the phone with her. The 2nd time I called I spoke to Serlina or Serlyn and she updated the notes and stated someone would call me back with a credit offer in 48-72 hrs. That didn't happen. The 3rd call I made on 2/3/21 I spoke to Ariel and she was loudly yawning and kept apologizing for it, she did so several times. Very rude and she eventually randomly hung up on me. 4th call was right after that (still holding my composure) and I spoke to a Ronise, she told me that Ariel had closed my case number. With no reason and with zero resolution.??? I asked for her to send me to a supervisor which she did and the sup (Melisa) again just said some one would call me back about this issue in 48-72 hrs. I asked her to please follow up with me by Monday to assure I get some kind of update this time which she said she would. That's pending. I have spent thousands of dollars at Ashley home store and I can assure that if this is not handled properly I will never do business with them again. I need new couches now because these pleather ones are peeling after 2.5 years. They sold me their 5 year protection plan for an additional $300 but was told they don't cover peeling. What kind of company is this? Watch out, I'd recommend you take your business elsewhere and DO NOT believe the sales reps, they WILL lie to you in order to make their sales commission. We fell victims of a scam by a company who does not do anything to protect their customers. I can tell from all the interactions with several employees by now (starting with Darla the initial sales agent) that this company lacks honesty and has a horrible out of control culture among their employees. Our experience at Ashley's was horrible. My mother is blind. She went to Ashley's to buy bunk beds for my children, her grandchildren, for her home. She specifically told the saleswoman, Patricia, that she wanted a bed where the ladder wasn't blocked by the top bunk railing. They completed the transaction, and scheduled delivery and assembly. Once assembly was complete, my mom discovered that the ladder was blocked by the railing, making it unsafe for small children due to having to climb over the railing. Patricia ordered the wrong bed. My mother called the Oxnard CA store and spoke with the manager Abraham who basically blamed my BLIND mother for leaving the store with the receipt that listed the wrong bed, because she should have caught the error. He also informed her that the sale is final. He didn't even take into account that because she's blind, she can't see the receipt, and has to trust the salesperson to do their job. My mother then called the corporate office and was passed around, no names were given. The line auto disconnected after 23 minutes of trying to get to the right person to help. To add insult to injury, Patricia charged my mother a $149.99 for 5 year furniture warranty, which my mother never wanted, wasn't asked if she wanted and she never would have approved. Patrica took it upon herself to add this unnecessary, expensive warranty all on her own to my mother's order. My elderly, blind mother was taken advantage by this saleswoman, and the store/company. I had a great experience with the store in Torrance, so I referred my mother to Ashley's. I feel very guilty that I recommended somewhere that has caused so much trouble and anxiety for her. I will never recommend this company again, and shame on them for their atrocious customer "care". I purchased a full size bed, a chest, and a nightstand for my son. I know the price was on the low side, so I fully expect that the quality was not going to be on par with Ethan Allen or Crate and Barrel. The nightstand was good, no complaints there. The drawer on the chest was so small that it really should have been a 4 drawer chest instead of 5 drawer chest. The shading/paint was slathered on haphazardly, but I was able to get the extra off with a magic eraser. The biggest problem was the bed because it was not a perfect rectangle. It was very noticeable after we put the mattress on (see pics). My similarly priced bed frame from World Market didn't have that problem. We had to put some torque on the frame to get everything to fit. I was not happy with the quality of the furniture even after adjusting my expectation accordingly. read more
