Damn, Ashley - so close to a 5 star review. You could've been a contender but... Let me start with the reason for the 4 stars (that should have been 5 stars): Bought a living room set about a year and half ago and the linkage on the electric footrest mechanism just snapped in half. Got the part replaced under warranty fast - week and half. I did the work myself because after 1 year labor is not covered but it was an easy half hour job. So super happy with that. Excellent job Ashley on your warranty replacement work. So why not 5 stars? They tried to lie about the warranty at first (well, a lie of omission). When the chair broke, first thing we did was call down there and ask about the warranty. "Oh...sorry...warranty is only 1 year" we were told. Damn, that sucks. So we drive down there to look at buying a new $1500 chair. The sales guy is showing us different chairs and I'm small talking him and mentioned that I was looking for a cheaper chair. I just broke the last one after only a year and a half so figured if that's all they're good for - then I want the cheapest chair possible. He points out that the parts warranty is actually 5 years. Only the labor expires after 1 year. "Well good", says I. I need to file a warranty claim then. "You gotta talk to the boss and he's gone until Wednesday". No problem. I leave and call back Wednesday. Tell the boss my problem and he also tells me "Oh...sorry...warranty is only 1 year". But your salesman showed me the brochure that says 5 year warranty. "Oh that's just parts, no labor". OK, so get me the part. I'll either do it myself or gladly pay the labor to have it done. At that point, the manager switched gears from deny-mode and was super helpful and got the claim filed and the replacement linkage mechanism to me in less than 2 weeks. So kudos for that. But really? How many people have they fooled with this whole "first try to deny the warranty" tactic? Maybe the first guy my wife called was new and didn't know any better but I spoke with the store manager. He knew damn well it was a 5 year parts warranty. But rather than say that, he tries to imply that my chair is out of warranty. Then silence. As if, end of story. Had it not ultimately ended well for me - I would have given only 1 star. But once the manager realized he wasn't going to get away with snowing me about the "sorry...only 1 year warranty" he did do an excellent job of getting me the broken part replaced. If he reads this - maybe he might consider ditching that tactic. Probably works on a lot of people but it's just not worth the negative karma and missing out on a 5 star glowing review. read more

DO NOT TRUST THIS STORES PROMOTIONS. I went into this store expecting to buy a couch, with cash in hand. The salesman then told me they had a promotion going on that had 18 months of interest free payments. I accepted the offer because I figured I'd rather pay interest free with smaller payments than drop 2,000 dollars at once. I then put a down payment on the couch and the salesman gave me my monthly payment. Fast forward, I realized I got charges after the promotional period ended and that confused me because I thought the couch was paid off, just to find out that the payment I was TOLD to pay did not cover the entire cost of the piece of furniture. While it was my fault for not reading the fine print, I believe the salesman knew exactly what he was doing. I ended up getting charged with all the interest from the previous 18 months. This place is known for it's scams, do not buy from this store. read more

After a talk with my orthopedic surgeon, I realized that my manual recliner could put substantial tension on my back after surgery. I thought initially that I would just get a power recliner then I thought, perhaps I should get a powelift recliner just in case. So I saw Costco had a reasonable one and if I didn't like it there was their great return policy. So I ordered it. True to form it was a quality product, but it didn't have segmental adjustments. So I thought I would explore around a bit more. I found one I liked at Bitterroot furniture and wondered if it was carried locally. Surprise Ashley Furniture had the same chair and the website said they would price match any offer. I called Ashley. Yes they carried the unit. So he priced it out. The website said it was $100 more than Bitterroot. The salesperson said, yes but that was without the delivery fee and if I put it in the cart I would see that it was $1300. Then he says he didn't think they had it in store and it might takes months to deliver. He then checks his inventory. Yes they just got 2. It would cost me $1700. I asked him about the price match. Oh they would only price match the website, not other stores. And BTW it might take months to get it otherwise. I told him what he was doing was unethical. It was usurous and didn't match the website. I told him that I was very interested in the chair, but there was no way in God's green earth that I would consider buying from him with his clearly unethical business practices and I would let others know not to buy from him. So here goes my promise. Suggest that you price check anything you buy from them as they clearly are hiking prices. read more

I bought a king mattress and paid $79.99 for the delivery. When the mattress got to the house, it was a totally different feel than the one in the store. I called and was told first of all, put my house temperature to 72 degrees so it would be softer and then wait 30 days to break it in. With a 30 day exchange, I said that was not something I was willing to do as it would be out of exchange time limit by then. Then, I was told to get a different mattress, it would be another $79.99 charge. When I asked to talk to the owner or a manager, I was told "No". When I asked if they could call me, I was told, "No". Granted, the mattress looks the same, but does NOT feel anything like the one in the store. When I was trying to make my case for the mattress exchange at no charge, I was told "I'm talking now" as I was talked over. read more

We had a very good experience. Ordered a reclining leather loveseat at an amazing discount, plus a hide a bed. Our salesperson, Jason, showed a really good balance between helpfulness while giving us some space. Our furniture arrived yesterday, weeks before we expected it! The delivery guys were great. Very tenacious in struggling the hideabed down steep narrow stairs. I would definitely recommend you take a look here if you're in the market for furniture. read more

We always purchase from Furniture Row but are in the market for a sectional sofa and dining chairs. Was at Barnes and Noble and decided to stop in at 6:50pm. We were immediately pounced upon by a salesman and let him know we were just looking. He followed us for a moment and we told him we would seek him out if we had questions. He went to another employee (supervisor?) And said something. We found some stunning dining chairs and as soon as I sat down, were approached by the other employee. She asked what brought us in today and we said we were just looking and would let her know if we had questions. She told us they close at 7pm. We said we'll leave then. Noticed several other customers still browsing. Odd and troubling experience. We will happily stick with Furniture Row. read more

This store was great for us. I placed the order from Charleston, South Carolina for an item in the Missoula, Montana store to be delivered to my brother in Missoula. The manager, gave us a terrific price. The gal with whom I made the arrangements for the delivery displayed a thoroughness and curtesy that were exceptional, and the warehouse man and his delivery person went beyond the call of duty to be helpful. I honestly have nothing good to say about this place. The sales staff will pounce on you like piranha the moment you walk in and even after politely stating that you don't need any assistance they will follow you and comment on everything you happen to glance at. It is a very uncomfortable experience. But if you actually are dumb enough purchase anything there (as I was) that's when the fun really begins. All around awful customer service. I was told my item would be shipped to their warehouse and they would call me at that time to arrange a delivery. After a few weeks, I called and was told that my item had already been there for "a long time." And once the item arrived and I realized it wasn't what I thought it was....good luck on getting a hassle free return. With so many furniture stores in Missoula...there is no reason to set foot in Ashley. I give them a year before they are ONCE AGAIN, out of business here. read more

After buying a sectional couch and a regular couch we decided to buy a bed. The first day that we went to the store the sales lady was really sweet and nice. About 4 to 6 weeks after the purchase, we noticed a lot of lumps in sinking in the middle. We called and complained kindly and asked for a replacement. After quite some time they finally brought a new mattress out and clarified, at our house, it was defective. Here we are 45 days later in this bed is just as bad as the last one. I sent an email and didn't get a response initially. I sent another one several weeks later and the manager called me today. He basically told me that they couldn't find anything wrong with her last one and that he had to lose money on it and there was nothing that he could do to help us further. I quickly clarified that it's usually best practice to make sure your customers are happy with large purchases. I reminded him of the loyal customers we were and that we would never return to that store again. As being a hard-working member of the working class, it's shocking to me that a business would not want their customers happy. Especially ones who would never take advantage of something. I am highly disappointed and sickened by their behavior. Do not shop at Ashley Furniture. read more
