These guys are terrible. Bought 2 sofas. They said that they would be in 4 weeks. 8 weeks later they still weren't in. At 9 weeks one arrived at the warehouse but they wouldn't deliver.because they both weren't in. Went to warehouse to pick it up myself. It wasn't wrapped and completely exposed in a warehouse. And of course it was dirty and stained. Didn't take it. This was the 5th and 6th sofa we ordered and still didn't have a sofa. Demanded a refund and now going round and round with them because they accused us of taking the sofa. We left that dirty sofa sitting on the floor of the warehouse. So the saga continues. read more

Had I been given the option to rate this company 0 stars, I would have. I can write a novel about the many mess ups and headaches this company has given me but I'll try to condense it as much as possible. By any means there are so many furniture companies to buy from so do yourself a favor and take your service anywhere but here, it will save you the trouble, trust me. I have waited over 12 weeks (the maximum allotted delivery time they tell you) for my furniture and it has yet to come (mind you this delivery was for July 16th). Calling them is an absolute headache and the lack of competence is truly embarrassing. I have been promised refunds, assured that things will be delivered on time, and promised call backs yet none of those were fulfilled by the company. There is a lack of urgency in the company despite the fact that I have been on the phone with them since June. As you can see it is reaching September and nothing has been resolved. I don't think anyone wants to go through a 4 month process of dealing with the customer service line which by the way has extremely long wait times. I have decided to cancel the bedding furniture, and I am currently in the process of getting a refund issued. If by some miracle after reading this you still decide you want to shop here, make sure you triple check your order receipt as they completed messed mine up. I was charged for a mattress yet they never sent that information to the manufactur so it was never going to be delivered even though the money was taken out of my account. On top of that the sales associate also messed up the color of the couch I was getting and upon the couches arrival to my house, the company refused my denial of delivery when I said it was the wrong color. I phoned the company to let them know that the left arm on the power recliner I bought was on crooked. I put a carpenter's level on the arm and demonstrated how the right arm was fine but the bubble on the level clearly showed that the left arm was off kilter. They sent a tech who said he could not fix it since the problem was definitely a factory defect - something covered under warranty on this chair that I only had 3 months. He also used a level and confirmed that the whole chair leaned since the arm was not on straight. He took photos and said it was now up to Ashley how to proceed. They finally called me back to say the tech did not find this chair to be a problem (a blatant lie) and they would not repair or replace it. I will NEVER buy anything from them again and I will do my best to spread the word about how they do not stand by their promises or products. It surprised me to read good reviews by other people. I purchased a sofa unit for my entertainment room. I also purchased the protection plan. The furniture was delivered damaged (a hole in the fabric). Their solution was to send me the upholstery--I guess they expect me to re-upholster the couch. And they also delivered a wrong unit. This was back in August. I asked them to take the furniture back, but they refused. I still don't have a complete sofa unit and what I have is the damaged stuff they left me. They refuse to refund my purchase and my credit card company is not backing me up (MasterCard). I will NEVER do business with them again and highly suggest you don't either. read more

Constant BS stories about this and that. I'm in sales, I understand BS. Almost 3 months later it's supposed to be delivered today after I called to confirm last week and got confirmation yesterday that my couch will be delivered today. I called this morning again to confirm only to be told it had already been delivered and they had a photo and a signature saying the work had been completed. We purchased the extended warranty. The "review process" took 5 months and then they finally said they would replace. We were scheduled for a Saturday delivery. Was given a date for delivery at the time of purchase with a caveat that unless all the pieces were there it wouldn't be delivered that day. Got a call on the Friday before delivery that they needed to schedule a date for delivery. Sounds like all the pieces were ready to me. Called Customer Care at the store and while I was explaining their explanation to my wife the associate transferred me to scheduling. So I placed an order with Ashley Furniture in Manassas Va. for my new home. I had the most amazing Salesperson named Lorena. I must have spent on my 1st visit to the store over 3 1/2 hours deciding n deciding my new furniture look, but Lorena was ever so courteous and patient. Soooo if u go to the Manassas store definitely ask for her she is very caring, helpful and honest. So I picked out a total of 27 pieces totaling to an amount of well over $8000. All well and good. Then I brought my parents in and the same salesperson assisted them and they spent over $3500. So Ashley made out well from my family. So now finally its delivery time and I'm having a problem with 2 of my pieces....1 a king mattress and a sofa. The mattress didn't look like the same headboard that I picked out from the stores showroom. So when it was delivered n I noticed it I asked for them to call Customer Care n to have it returned. It was a like a burlap fabric but the one I got was not tight on the headboard but was bulky in some areas. Anyway, I am the customer who's not satisfied with her purchase so I go back to the store to speak to a manager. In addition to my complaint there was also a defect on one of the rail slats. So another headboard is ordered. On the delivery date now mind you...furniture was already delivered the previous week to my new address. Would you believe that the new pieces were delivered to the old address that I moved from?? Duhhhhh!!! So I'm called by the guard at the gate from my old residence and she puts on the Ashley Furniture delivery person. I'm like...how the hell could you all make such an absent minded mistake n u just delivered over 27 pieces of furniture to my new address a few days ago? So they ask me for the new address again which is only 7 MINUTES AWAY from the other. So I think that they're on their way....well I receive a call from customer care and spoke to a rep named Geneive or something like that to RESCHEDULE??? I'm freaking pissed....reschedule??? You're 7 minutes away. So she said that the drivers couldn't come n she's rescheduling for a different day. So I'm leaving my new place and who do I see driving by my new address....the 2 absent minded drivers that made the furniture delivery the 1st time to the correct address...cracking up n laughing in the truck. The driver had called me on my cell phone asking also for the new address again to make the delivery but after I spoke with Geneive...I'm probably spelling her name wrong...she redirected the drivers. Now I'm calling n calling the drivers back because when they called for the correct address n I told them how close they were I really thought that they were coming....So now the drivers aren't picking up their phones. But as stated as I'm leaving out who do I see driving around in the area that I just moved in. Alright...u get the picture. So now...here comes the new delivery n new guys come. They didn't have the same drivers delivery the headboard and railing/slat. Would u believe that these 2 guys just bring in the new slat/railing??? They left the new headboard on the truck until I walked into my bedroom n i see him attaching the railing n no new headboard. I was like ohhhhh no you don't!!! I ordered a new headboard! I don't want that one with the crunched up fabric. And he's yelling at me trying to convince me that it's the same as if he would know the difference n he's not purchasing it I am!!! So after a screaming match with their delivery guy he stomps down my steps and starts speaking in another language to his partner. Who cares...just get the new headboard off the truck!!! He brings it upstairs and he's just banging stuff. Oh well...just do ur job n get the hell out! Now I'm examining my sofa and its torn...oh boy here I go again...HELP!!! You place an order at Ashley furniture you might want to pick out up yourself. However...there was a kind customer care rep named Siera that assisted with the replacement of the headboard that was pleasant n kind. SOOO, where should I begin... We have purchased the furniture from Ashley on the 20th of February, we paid in full, the representative and the manager of the Manassas location were super nice and helpful while of course trying to make a sale. We have found what we wanted and it's a California king bed and we were upsold on the mattress because the deal that the manager had offered to us was pretty good, we also purchased a dresser to match the bed, total package around $2500. When we were communicating with the sales rep and the manager, we explained our situation that we were currently using our guestroom to sleep, and we came to Ashley to specifically purchase a bed and needed the bed to be delivered asap. They assured us that we will be receiving the bed on time by the 25th of march. In March, the store customer service rep called us and said that there is going to be a delay because the bed is custom ( California King) and they don't have it in the stores and it's the pandemic and some other stories that they have to tell you when the order is delayed. Now the bed was supposed to be delivered on April 19th. April comes- another phone call-sorry the delivery is now in June. Are you kidding me? That is over any promises that the store employees have originally made and it's over 18 weeks for delivery and it's 4 and 1/2 months until the bed can be delivered now. I was vivid and I told my spouse let's go to the store and find out what they have available for delivery now and we will cancel our order and will just purchase what they can deliver this week or next. Another sales rep was running around the store, the same manager was there. The new sales rep said to us- of course, we can find something for you to be delivered by the end of next week. We settled on the bed and found a mattress and were willing to pay a little extra, explaining that my mom is coming to visit in June, and we will not have anywhere to sleep because she will be in our guestroom, so we need this bed yesterday. Finally, the sales rep goes back to the manager to run the numbers on a couple of options and the manager said that the mattress is the problem and it will be delivered the third week of June, the same time our original order was supposed to be re-re-delivered. We said, you know what, we already have ordered through you and the order is paid in full and we wanted to cancel it and get something else instead but sooner. The only thing that we were waiting on per the phone call from the customer service was the rails for the bed. We were very upset, and at that point we told them that we will cancel and go to Haverty's Furniture or Belfort Furniture instead. The next day (the news traveled fast) we get an email saying that we will partially deliver your order this week. Ok, first good news from Ashley, my spouse took a day off, they said we will not deliver your dresser as it didn't pass our inspection and will be delayed again but we can deliver the bed parts with the mattress without the rails. The delivery crew comes in to drop what was available and the footboard breaks and is chipped, and then the rest of the wood was cracked and was coming off -delivery crew called the store they said they have to take it back and order another piece. What we have right now (as of yesterday) are the headboard and the mattress. Wow! So unprofessional and all lies, don't believe anything they tell you or promise to you-they are "cliché salespeople" and just want to make a sale using whatever lies they can come up with. Never again I want to go back to this place. My husband and I ordered a dining room set, bed frame and a desk, the last two items we only added because we wanted to take advantage of the one time delivery and assembly fee. Two question that I asked the salesman (Saeed) was that if i ordered it only would i avoid the delivery fee, he said "no, you would get charge anyways and it will take about 2 months to get it" I had no problem with paying the fee since it was a win for us. My second questions was what was the return policy because we did not know if the desk was going to be to big for our space. He said " you can exchange for something else without a problem" my husband asked again what was the policy, Saeed said "dont worry, you pick something else if you dont want it" my husband asked again telling him I want to know the return policy. This is where the problem begins, we were told that as long as the items have not been delivered then we can return or cancel our order, once the items are delivered then there is a 35% restocking fee. We said ok GREAT. When my husband is ready to sign they tell him at the end delivery will be in January 24th which is more than 2 months from now!!!! Saeed said let me see what I can do if not you can pick another table. We waited until the next day to cancel the order bc we were not gonna wait that long. THEN I found out that ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!! OHHHHH NOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I called all Monday for the Salesman or General Manager no luck. I was promised a call from the manager first thing in the morning, come Tuesday 12:30pm no call from them so I called them. General Manager was with a client I was promised once again a phone call by the end of the day. I said NOOOO I will call by 3pm again and my husband is on his way to your store as well. When he gets there they showed him 3 other sets of dining room and they told him they would match the price. He told them that I would call with the decision when I called they passed me with the salesman and he sent me a picture of an set that we did not like that was in clearance. I said no we dont like that once. he said but I can get it to you in 2 days. Then I asked for the GM who was rude bc he caught me off. I told him I will send him picture of the other 2 options they gave us then he said nooo they are not available. He said I will cancel the dining room set and just send the bed frame and desk. We only ordered that because of the FEE. We need the table. I just said cancel the whole thing. THey told me over text bc they could not be on the phone anymore that it would tomorrow which was not acceptable, nor my husband or I can keep wasting our time going to the store. He went today because he was in the area and finally after much arguing with them they decided to cancel but not show proof of it. My husband told them that he would not leave until he has proof and have something signed. the office manager initial and dated which was still not ok and finally got them on the phone with the financial company to confirm that the order and financing was cancelled. If you go here, ordered and you have an issue keep insisting because they cant lie and trick people. Oh and they told me that it would take 2 months because of the holiday season and I said I totally understand but dont have your sales people promise something you cant deliver. they cancelled the order and gave us store credit for the 170 fee we paid. My husband and i received awful customer service, late delivery(ies), broken furniture and enough bad excuses that should make anyone BEWARE if they purchase from this chain. 1) You won't get anyone to help you choose furniture, just a salesperson chasing you to sign up for a credit card - Don't do it 2) You will not get a delivery on time as the store doesn't have access to the delivery computer system or apparently a phone connection to correct a pending order. Don't believe what they say. 3) If your furniture is BROKEN or in any way damaged, you get a third phone number and a third person to track down to make another APPOINTMENT- mine was missed 3x- meaning 3 days off of work to wait for Ashley who was a "no show". I missed over 4 days of work due to "no shows", missed appointment windows and late deliveries. I took this up with the company and they did respond , ALSO, were you aware during your "inquiry" that the manager at Ashley Manassas visited my husband more than 2x during business working hours at my husbands place of business and told we would" be happy with our resolution", this was inappropriate, we are not friends, and this was a casual complacent response to a valid customer complaint. Went in over Labor Day looking to buy a new living room set. We weren't greeted initially, had to find somebody to come and discuss pricing/shopping information. They grabbed an "event supervisor" who was quite possibly the rudest, most unprofessional employee I've ever dealt with! Their "sale" is pretty much a ploy to get you in the store and charge you an unbelievable amount for shipping. We left that day cash in hand and found another store to buy from. I have no furniture for the room I purchased for. I wanted to find a store that I could get my furniture pretty quickly. The salesperson told me 2 weeks. I made the purchase on 8/25 and I called yesterday (16 days later) to check the status. I was told it wouldn't even be loaded onto the truck to be shipped here until 9/20. Then it takes 5-7 days to get to the store. Then however long it takes for them to deliver it to me. I was told the manager would call me back in an hour....it has been about 20 hours... It has been two days and the manager never called me back. I called again this morning and was told that the manager would call me back. Nothing. Udate- The furniture was delivered over a month after I ordered it. It looks nice. I'm not even sure where to start with this review. My fiance and I went into this store on Black Friday after leaving a different furniture store. I know one of the managers and he showed me their specials and told us to walk around. We didn't see much at all that we liked for our kids' rooms and asked if they had anything different. We were told they only had what was on the showroom floor, but I then found a book full of furniture, closer to what we were looking for in the first place. We did end up eventually settling for a piece on the showroom floor, but not even being given the option to order furniture from the catalog was a little upsetting. We also found a sectional and decided to wait on the dining room set for a later date. He wrote the whole thing up, we paid what we were told to pay, and went on our way. I followed up with our salesman and we were told it would be 7 to 10 days before we received our furniture. It sounded great, as we moved into our new place in that time frame. He kept giving us the run around when I followed up and wouldn't give me a date. He told me it would be an additional week, and then switched the date up another 3 times before I finally called the general manager who was also no help at all. I called again today and was told something along the lines of, "I see you ordered your furniture Tuesday, December 2nd," and a 2 to 3 week estimated delivery time. 5 days after we were in the store. I explained to her that we were told it would be much quicker and also that the purchase date was way off. She apologized, but I'm still out of luck on getting my furniture early enough. An apology doesn't mean anything if it didn't come from the personal who originally screwed up - and did I mention I haven't heard a word from him in days now? Do not expect timely delivery from this store. I ordered my furniture on 2 August and was told it would arrive on 16 August. As the day went on, I called Ashley HomeStore and all of the sudden there are missing pieces and they are not even expected to reach the warehouse until later this week. The 16 August date was only an estimate according to them. The actual furniture will now be delivered some time next week.....of course, that is just an estimate, too and I am guessing it will be 2018 when I get my furniture. My sales lady, Ashley J., was excellent, she was so professional and most importantly, not pushy, like the sales reps at other places were. She answered my questions (and my mother's questions) so quickly, even though we asked 100s of them, and made me feel very comfortable. I didn't feel i was getting some shady deal, she made all the rules super transparent and made sure we knew 100% of the entire process before I signed anything. If you are planning on making a purchase but worried about getting some weird sales person who is only in it for the commission, go here and ask for Ashley J., you'll be very well taken care of and she'll get you a great deal! This review really starts out with an awful one of Bob's Discount Furniture, so if you're curious as to the back story, go read my review of that place. But on to what happened when I went to Ashley..... So a week later we go to Ashley. We have a very similar showroom experience to Bob's. 100% customer service there too. But we're suspicious. Darn suspicious. We have had a very similar transaction when it comes to buying a sectional. (Bigger than the Bob's one, slightly more expensive, but still not bad.) When the sales staff talks to me about delivery, I ask them if the delivery guys are licensed, bonded, and insured? They say yes. I ask if they've had criminal background checks (which the Bob's guys may have skipped, based on my wife's impression of them) and the Ashley sales woman tells me, yes, they have. I ask if they're willing to take the furniture further than the garage, and the Ashley sales woman again says "yes!" So we're hopeful. The day of the Ashley delivery comes. The delivery guys show up when they say they will. They survey the landscape, set up the path to get the furniture in the door, and do it. No silliness, no language barrier, and no feeling that I'm letting the contents of the local adult detention center into my house. Once the furniture is set up, the delivery guy asks me to please look it over thoroughly and make sure that there is no damage and everything is set up to our satisfaction. Once I do that, he calls customer service and hands me the phone. The customer service representative again asks if everything was done to my satisfaction, to include getting the furniture in the house, the quality of it, lack of damage, etc. At the end of that call, then, and only then, did the delivery guy ask me to sign a receipt of delivery and install. We shook hands, I tipped them, and told them to have a nice weekend. Best furniture delivery experience ever! And so there you have it. That's why this review is both a zero star review of Bob's, and a five star review of Ashley. The price differential between those two for what we bought was a couple of hundred dollars, but I say that's immaterial, especially due to the fact that the slightly cheaper furniture apparently couldn't make it to my house, so really, no matter what the price, who cares? read more

Deplorable after-purchase service. We were to get our new sofa at the end of July (a month and a week later from purchase date). I called them today August 1st as I hadn't received a call regarding my delivery date and they said it would be ANOTHER month before it's delivered. What kind of customer service is this? How do you value your customer with such disregard for what was agreed upon when purchasing? I will be sure to let EVERYONE I know how horrible your service is. I'll continue to post bad reviews. My salesperson was the best part of the process- Jessica was awesome. Delivery has been a nightmare. First time they only delivered my couch. They didn't bring my table and chairs due to them being damaged. I just had to reschedule the delivery that was supposed to be tomorrow due to an emergency. Now they are charging me a rescheduling fee and a upcharge for a Saturday delivery. Ridiculous. I will never be a repeat customer. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T DELIVER. I have never had a bad experience at any other Ashley stores in other states. Ever. The Manassas, VA store is AWFUL. Bought a couch, a chair and two side tables in Sept of 2020. Furniture delivery was promised by the salesman for mid-October. The couches finally showed up right before Thanksgiving. Three weeks later we received one table. We were told the other table was damaged abs would be sent later. They did not give us a delivery date. After repeat calls to customer service we were told January. Then March. Then April. It's May 12 and still NO TABLE. Update: I was promised delivery on 6/5 and it still didn't show up. This store took our money then never delivered what they promised. What am I to do now? I can't match the current table if I buy through another store. And if I insist Ashley replace our set with a new one, will I have to wait another 9-10 months?? I get that we are still dealing with a pandemic but other businesses have managed to work around these delivery and inventory challenges. I'm being told that senior management is "looking into it." No they aren't. It's been MONTHS with no word from them about anything. Horrible customer service. BBB and FTC complaints have been filed. I've lit up their social media but still nothing. Awful salesman who made a promise that was not kept. Won't ever shop at this Ashley again. Too bad because we have been great customers for Ashley when we lived in other states. read more

Will never purchase from them again. Really liked the couch, love seat and chair we saw, purchased it and now almost 2 months later, no furniture in my living room. Was called to schedule delivery, even confirmed the appointment. They showed up when I was not home and I have tried to contact them numerous times. Now I'm being told that even though they had arrived at my home with the furniture, they were actually an item short and after a rescheduled delivery date again, now I am being told that my items are damaged and have to be ordered again and they may or may not be here next week. Took off work for the delivery, removed all my furniture to prepare for the new items only to have them cancel the morning of the delivery saying they can not locate my furniture. 5 days later, sitting in an empty living room with no idea when the new stuff will be here. Am completely cancelling the order but no one at the store will return my phone calls. Poor customer service all the way around! read more

Please DONOT buy here. First, they told me they could deliver some furniture in 2 weeks. That changed after they had our money, and they said it couldn't be ready until a few days before thanksgiving, keep in mind I had already told them before they got my money, I needed it by thanksgiving. So, once they said it couldn't be ready, I asked for my monies back. They stated they needed approval from corporate to give me my money back. Then I talked to Kevin (worthless piece of Sh!+ and he's a black guy) and he stated they would have to charge me a 30% restock free if I want a refund. I said, how can you charge me a restock fee on furniture you don't even have in the store???? Then he states that he pulled it off another customers order. I told him, I didn't ask you to do that, I said give me my money back. So, while I waiting for him to call me back for approval to give me a refund and guess what, he never called me back, never. I did have one manager to call me back, but he called me and asked me, why I keep calling up there and that they had better things to do and stated they wasn't going to cancel the order and hung the phone up in my face. If I wasn't at worked, I would have talked so bad to this dumb manager. Then after that, they finally decided that would give me 100% of my money back. So I went into the store and Kevin (worthless piece of Sh!+ and he's a black guy) stated he processed my refund and it will take 7 to 10 days to process. But, 10 days pass and no check. So I ended up calling to the corporate off, the Trivets furniture 3986 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407 (540) 786-6311 and found out Kevin (worthless piece of Sh!+ and he's a black guy) never had them to process my refund. He just sent an e-mail and was requesting for permission to give me a refund. But, thanks to the Corporate Office (the place where people have a brain works) I was able to talk to them and have my check cut the same day and I was able to pick my check up the same day. And just so happened, a few days after that manager called and hung up in my face I see him and his wife at the store. And of course he sees me and cut his eyes and keeps walking as if he didn't know who I was. I called his stupid ass name out in the store and he should have been thanking my 3 year old and his wife for being there, because I would have punched his dumb ass in the mouth. Then he in there scared as shit, saying he thought he called me back and apologized. DONOT and I REPET DONOT by nothing from them, not even a light bulb, if you don't please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, use your bank card, because if things don't go the right way for the customer, they will keep your money. If you pay with your bank card, your bank will reverse the transaction as long as you don't have the merchandise, unfortunately for me and my wife, we paid with a check and that's why we had to deal with the entire BS. DONT TRUST KEVIN, he a snake, doesn't believe anything he says. If he told me the sun was shining outside and I went outside and saw the sun shining, I would still think his dumb ass lying. read more
