The staff in the store were very helpful and friendly however we will not be using Ashley furniture again. We ordered a couch and had terrible service by their delivery staff. They were extremely rude when we tried to reschedule the delivery (several days in advance). When we tried to reschedule the delivery we were told that they had no idea when they would be back down to our area (Dover) and when I asked for a general use whether it be a week or a month they told me "we will get it to you when we get it to you". After talking to the manager of the Ashley store and the manager of the delivery staff, we decided to give them another try, (maybe it was a bad day). We ordered a dining room table and were again treated rudely by the delivery company. We will NOT be using Ashley furniture again! read more

The distribution center called twice to confirm a delivery, but then called to cancel because the store never ordered my mattress. I tried calling the store. She said to call the distribution center. Called there, she said to call the store. I called and spoke with the store manager. He called me delusional, and he yelled at me saying, "This is the third time I'm telling you what to do, and you're not listening." His mistake cost me time and money, but he refuses to take responsibility. He said to call the distribution center for help. He refuses to cancel the order unless I pay 40% of the mattress. Worst place to get your furniture, if you're thinking about doing it DON'T. We ordered a sectional at the end of May and didn't receive it until August. I understood they only deliver on base on Fridays and we had a date set to receive our couch June 16th. They put our address into their system and I get a call the day of our delivery from the driver asking if we were in New Jersey or Delaware! I told him Delaware and he proceeded to tell me that he is in New Jersey and the address was inputted incorrectly. The customer service agent reached out a few minutes later and I had her confirm our address which was correct. I was so confused but I did reschedule another delivery date which ended up being August 6th. The day of the delivery a customer service representative reaches out to me letting me know that the drivers are stuck at the gate and unable to get on base. We rush over there only to find out there are no delivery drivers at any gate! The customer service representative tells me they were turned away because they had a crack in the windshield. I knew that was a lie because they don't turn you away for that... he then proceeds to tell me the delivery driver will be reaching out to me to see what they can do. I wait 10 minutes for a call and he never calls, the customer service representative calls back asking if I have heard from them, I tell them no and he calls them again and before we hang up the phone he's calling me. When I answer the phone the delivery driver tells me he was turned away because the truck was too tall and they have an oil leak! So now I'm like which one is it??!! An oil leak, cracked windshield, or the truck was too tall. I ask him what gate he's at and that we will come to me and he hangs up the phone! Super unprofessional! Now the customer service representative calls me back and I let him know what the delivery driver said and that he hung up the phone. It took us 4 hours to finally get our couch and when they dropped it off they didn't even offer to put it together! Just all around unprofessional and rude. Definitely would not recommend wasting your time messing around with these fools. Save your time and money! read more

Worst attitude, acted like he could care less about helping me out and at one point rolled his eyes. Not to mention he had extremely long fingernails that were very dirty. Went to Ashley's after viewing the Memorial Day's sales online. When I got to the store I was told that the store has nothing to do with the Ashley online sales???? I picked up a flyer at the store that said 50% off and free delivery for anything purchased that weekend for the Memorial Day Sale. When I asked the salesman did this apply to any furniture he informed me that it only applied to purchases totally $1799.00 or higher. No where on the flyer or on the signs posted outside of the store did it mention a minimum purchase price. I feel that this in addition to the website not mentioning that the sale prices only applied to online sales, constitutes false advertising, which I thought was illegal. read more

I am truly shocked at the terrible customer service of the warehouse staff!!! They are simply terrible!!! I purchased my dining room set with straight up cash...And...We decided to pick up our set at the warehouse when it arrives...Well, it's already 4 weeks and I still don't have my furniture! I called every week to inquire about a date or possible date of arrival and instead of easing my mind the staff was EXTREMELY RUDE! The only answers I received was "didn't we tell you it can take up to 4 weeks to come in?!" Guess what...It's 4 weeks and I still haven't received a call from them to inform me about my furniture; not so much as a "we are working on it, etc.. I purchased a nightstand on March 13th that was coming from their warehouse. Moved and realized the 2nd nightstand would not fit so I cancelled my order which I am now 17 days later and numerous phone calls still without my money returned to me. I keep getting the excuse they need to track it to see where it is?? Seriously??? You are in DE and the piece was in MD. HORRIBLE EXCUSES!!!! When I purchased the item the money was taken out immediately but when you are trying to get money back...FORGET IT!! No excuse for this what so ever!!!!!! DISGUSTING!!! I have never received such poor, dishonest, and deplorable customer service from any business as I have from Ashley Furniture. I ordered several pieces of furniture for my new home. On the day of delivery my furniture did not show up until after 9 o'clock at night, after having to wait around all day. I was not living in my home yet, it was dark, and I was exhausted. I saw that the furniture was delivered and signed off on the delivery. A few days later I went to move the dresser from where the movers had placed it. I noticed that the entire corner was missing. Not only was the corner missing, it had been covered up with matching stain. I was appalled that the dresser they had delivered to me was known to be damaged and attempted to be "fixed". I paid for a new dresser, not a used refurbished one. I called the Dover store, talked to the manager John, and he said that it would be no problem to get a new dresser. This was over 3 weeks ago. Since then I have talked to every customer service rep, the warehouse, and corporate. All of which made the promise to call me back with information. I have yet to receive a call from anyone. After being passed off from department to department for several weeks the verdict was that I waited to long to make the complaint. Despite several customer service representatives, whom I sent pictures to, said that I was clearly not to blame and that I should get a new dresser, they refuse to right their wrong. I explained that I did not want anything for free, simply what I paid for. Ashley Furniture is a horrible excuse for a business. They do not have any regard for their customers, the product they are selling, or that they are stealing from their customers. I will continue to contact and explore every avenue to ensure that NO ONE has the same degrading, awful, frustrating experience that I have had to endure. was happy that this Dover store had a selection with delivery available to my new home in Milton DE. Currently, living in VA until my home is constructed I visited an Ashley Furniture showroom in Woodbridge, VA instead of making a 2.5 hrs drive to Dover. We found a Queen bedroom set we liked, called the Ashley Dover DE store and told them we have an Ashley Ad showing the sale price at $999. A Kyle confirmed they too have the sale, that they could honor the sale until 7-14-14, but that they would have to order it, as long as I drive to Dover and buy it. I made hotel arrangements, took time off from work, incurred costs to go buy my furniture. The day before my trip to Dover, I called the Ashley Dover store so they can have things ready... now they decided to tell me because Ashley furniture is a "franchise" that they could not honor the Woodbridge VA sale of $999 but could only offer it at $1600... Of course I was livid, I was previously told they could offer the same sale, stopped my life, hotel, time off from work. .. a cost to me... When I explained this to the manager he showed no sympathy, he called the other Ashley VA store his competition, and that he couldn't "giveaway" furniture. ... as if I was asking for a handout... NOT once did he seem sympathetic to possible mis-communication by Kyle, not once did he show any sympathy for misunderstanding, he remained tepid as if they can do no wrong. .m We made our attempt to keep our money at their store, we even purchased $2500 of furniture the weekend before. This manager gave me the feeling that I was poor and begging for a handout. He expressed zero to no remorse for the potential of misrepresentation by his employee, it didn't even phase him how I explained I took time off from work, incurred hotel costs. .. this guy gave you the feeling of "too bad, so sad... not my problem". Warning to all of my friends on facebook. Do Not buy anything from Ashley furniture in Dover. I ordered a bed that was on their showroom floor which had the sleigh style headboard.I was delivered a completely different style bed that was $300 cheaper. I called to reconcile the problem and got the reply "sorry bout your luck". This is the worst customer service I have experienced and this is outright fraud!. I'm already having to make payments on furniture I haven't even gotten or know if I'll even get. We bought furniture from this store to furnish entire house in January it was delivered. 1 wrong item was ordered and 1 mismatched mirror was delivered for dresser. After 4 months of phone calls and excuses back and forth they finally agree to replace the wrong items, but only to change their mind and said I have to pay for them again. My mistake was that I walked into that store and made a purchase. From the start the staff was not attentive and rude, talking loud and laughing among themselves and made me feel like I was not welcome there. After learning that I am purchasing furniture for entire house their attitude changed and manager was involved in the transaction. Long story, short - I have to look in the mirror every morning that is from a different bedroom set and does not match bedroom furniture color and style and every night I rest my book on miss-matched nightstand. Horrible service. I ordered a living room set, bedroom set and kitchen table. I was not told when I placed the order that the bedroom set had some items out of stock but was still given the 2-3 week delivery timeframe. After 5 weeks and no calls I went to the store to investigate, come to find out the bedroom set was out of stock so I had to wait for that. Once everything arrived the table never left the warehouse because it was damaged and the living room set was okay but the bedroom set had damages all over. The footboard was broken and they wanted to do a quick fix using glue and paint. But before that could happen one of the guys dropped the head board into my wall causing damage to my wall and the headboard. So they ended up taking the bed back to the warehouse. The mirror was damaged as they were trying to put it together so they left that saying I will get a service call for the bed, mirror, and table. Well no call yet and it has been 4 days now. I called Friday morning to find out what was going on and they took a message saying I will get a call back that evening. Well nothing yet. It is now Tuesday and nothing has happened. We are looking at just about 6 weeks now and me not having all my stuff. BEWARE OF THIS STORE. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. PHILL WAS THE GUY WHO ''HELPED'' ME. My girlfriend and I went here while mattress shopping. As soon as we walked in we were stared down by 5 or 6 male salesman. One approached us and asked what we were looking for and took us to the mattress section. While walking past previous said group of salesman, still stalking us like prey. The salesman makes small talk with us. Mainly saying "people always come in here buying what they need, not what they want." Confused by this, I let it go. He shows us 1 mattress and of course we lay on it to give it a feel. He then goes to critique the way I sleep. Sorry, didn't know your salesman were also chiropractors. Of course the mattress we were on was the highest priced one. The rest of our experience with his was terrible. We spent maybe 5 more minutes with him and walked out. Terrible management. Went to store with intent to purchase furniture. Breland unfortunately was out. He's the one I planned to meet with. Instead, I had to work with another rep (who did a good job). The problem was the manager Mark R. Beyond unprofessional and discourteous. Customer service is a foreign concept with this manager. I felt like I was negotiating with a used car salesman. He may have had a bad day but no excuse for his rudeness and unwillingness to work with a customer. My first and last visit to this store. Not sure about other locations. Since this was my first visit to this chain, needless to say it's highly unlikely I would visit another Ashley store. The importance of excellence in customer service cannot be overemphasized. Ashley Furniture in Dover, DE has the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered! When my furniture was delivered they shattered a picture frame on my wall, which my husband accepted $20 for not knowing it was from a set of frames worth so much more. Not a big deal though. The big deal came when there was a dent in the coffee table. My husband signed the form as he did not inspect the furniture. From there it has been a total disaster. Such a waste of our time. I immediately called the store about an hour after the furniture had been delivered upon my arrival home to tell them about the dent. Next, I was told they were out of the picture and it was delivery's problem. This is where the run around began. Eventually we went online to file a complaint. They needed pictures as proof, then closer pictures and eventually they believed me. Finally, after two months and several emails from me asking for updates and when they would pick up the table to fix it, they came to get the table. Also, every time they come to your house you have to have someone home all day because they do not give you a time. So, two days given up. Fast forward, they fixed it and it was to be delivered May 4th. Well, after getting someone to stay at my house all day, they showed up without my table. The delivery guys thought they were there for a pick up. So we were to reschedule again. At this point I was done. I was at least 15 phone calls in, several emails had been sent and we had given up three entire days where someone had to be at home. I called and asked to speak with a manager only to be told there wasn't one. "Listen sweetheart, we are all fed up with management here," was what one employee told me. I was finally given the number of someone who claimed to be a manager. He was extremely rude and would not refund my money. He said I would not cooperate with them and blamed it on my schedule why I didn't have my table. Currently, over a month from our supposed delivery and a total of 5 months from the purchase date, I still do not have a table, delivery date or even an apology. This store is awful!! My wife and I recently purchased furniture from the Ashley Furniture store in Dover Delaware. We were unsatisfied with the quality of two of the pieces, valued at over $1000, which we feel are not near the same quality of the showroom demonstration pieces we saw at the Dupont Highway store. We followed the company's procedure for submitting our complaint and were simply dismissed and brushed off by the Ashley service department, who did not listen to nor investigate our claim sufficiently. They refused to inspect the pieces stating that photos of the furniture did not warrant sending out a technician to inspect the pieces. As we explained, photos do not adequately depict the nature of our dissatisfaction with the furniture as it is a functional and structural problem not visible in a photograph. We believe that their response to our complaint is inadequate and we believe they should at least send out a representative to investigate our claim concerning what we believe to be was a deliberate misrepresentation of their products. read more
