On July 11th we went to to the Cary location purchase a couch we saw online that said this specific store had it in stock. When we went, the salesman told us they had just taken it off the floor so we couldn't even see it in person. That should have been a red flag but we really wanted this specific couch. The salesman gave us a really awesome deal with the 5 year protection thrown in, so we purchased the couch. We were told we would get a text or call when the couch was going to be delivered. Again a plus because we wanted to make sure when we moved into our new house a few weeks later, we could give them the updated delivery address. Well, weeks went by and it got closer to move into our house and all the text updates I got pretty much just said "hey, we're still working on it". I read the cancellation policy and online chatted with someone who said that if I cancelled before 10 weeks, I would receive a refund minus a 10% cancellation fee. She said "after 10 weeks, you can cancel and receive a full refund". I was like perfect and had her tell me the 10 week date, which was September 19th. I ended up buying a couch somewhere else on September 17th because, still NO update! So I gave it a day and called on September 20th to cancel. The lady I spoke to said that she would fill out the cancellation form from me and transfer me to the store to process the refund minus a 10% restocking fee! I was like yea no, I was never told there was a restocking fee and only told the 10% cancellation fee if cancelled before 10 weeks. When I was transferred to the store and spoke to Sam who also reiterated the 10% stocking fee. How do you charge a 10% restocking fee to something that hasn't even been built?!?! I was fuming and at the point my boyfriend got on the phone and let her know that when we went to make the purchase on July 11th the website stated they had the couch in stock at this specific location. She kept saying I don't have control over what's on the website or something similar. She finally says "I am not going back and forth with you, I'll issue a full refund" and hangs up on him. Like let's be honest here, how are you going to charge a restocking fee to something that isn't even shipped let alone BUILT!?! If this happens to you, fight it!! I can guarantee half the furniture they have isn't in stock or even put together! I understand we're in a pandemic and everything is backup up but let's not be greedy and try to nickel and dime people. Definitely will not be buying anything from Ashley. read more

**Update: once again Ashley scheduled delivery and once again nothing arrived. Again I had the pre calls assuring me. Saturday number SIX. This time the product failed to pass inspection so it was never loaded on the delivery truck. On December 13th I purchased two accent cabinets from Ashely furniture in Cary, NC with an estimated delivery date of January 19th. Now on April 10th I have reached the end of my patience and writing about my experience. Let me be clear that I understand things out of our control such as COVID slowing production, factories being backordered on materials, and supply chain delays in these times. What I'm writing about is Ashley Home furniture contacting me to schedule delivery of my product. To this date I have not asked for a reduced rate or a refund of the money I paid at time of purchase for delivery. I am not an extreme customer that complains at the slightest blemish. I'm just a working guy who wants a couple of cabinets. The first scheduled delivery they could not make the appointment time because they were running behind schedule which I understand but I could not wait any longer and had to return to work. Even though I let the delivery customer service know that I could not wait any longer, I still got a call a few hours past the scheduled time from the team delivering. They said they'd be at my house in about ten minutes. I let them know that I was back at work. They could not leave the furniture on my porch, which I understand. The second scheduled delivery which I made arrangements to be home for the day, I got a call in the morning saying my furniture was damaged and did not pass pre loading inspection and that I'd have to reschedule. The third scheduled delivery a piece of furniture (cabinet) arrived, however it was warped like a banana and had no legs. It rolled back and forth on my floor like a rocking chair, two of the boards on top were separated from the rest, and there were no legs to be found. They left the cabinet and I was told a technician would come repair. I drove to the Store and asked the manager to please help. She made arrangements to get the display model from the Store, although the top was scuffed, delivered. The fourth scheduled delivery the display cabinet from the Store arrived. Even though it was scuffed on top I didn't care since this had been going on for several months. They picked up the warped duplicate item that had been sitting on the floor. The second cabinet was still in its flat shipping carton. When it was taken off the truck and unpacked, it was so damaged the delivery team refused to even assemble. The fifth scheduled delivery was between 1 and 4 on a Saturday. Around Noon I got a call from the delivery service saying my delivery has been pushed to between 6 and 9 pm. I asked them to please not push me off. That I'm thinking they are not going to make the delivery by pushing me to those hours. I said I will be home all night and they can deliver up to midnight if needed. They said they would email the team for me and let them know that I'd be waiting as long as it takes. Then around 7 pm I get the call I knew was coming, that unfortunately they won't make my delivery tonight and I would need to reschedule. I asked them to please reach out to the team. I called the Store and spoke with the Manager begging her to please not let this happen again. I was told they have no control of the delivery. Now that it is past 9pm I have received a call letting me know that my delivery will not arrive tonight, that again it must get back to the distribution center, and that sometime next week they will reach out to me to schedule delivery. To no prevail I asked what will be different for delivery attempt number 6? What guarantee do I have that it will arrive or that it will arrive without being damage? Who is going to make sure that it finally arrives this time? I was told someone will reach out to me. read more

The worst experience ever. Ordered a living room set on Nov 11th was told half was available and the other pieces should be in within 4 to 6 weeks. After a month a called to check on the status was told nothing was held for me and the whole set was out of stock. Waited for 4 months and they couldn't tell me when it was expected to come in. I cancelled on 2/21 and they called me on 2/24 saying the set was now available and if I didn't want it they would charge me the 10% cancellation fee because I didn't wait 6 months before canceling. Needless to say I will never go back to this store or company again and would never recommend. read more

My mom received delivery on 12/8/22. Bed was missing hardware so was unable to be put together. Delivery driver advised to tell customer service we wanted to keep the bed and have parts mailed. It is now 12/20/22. Still no parts. Bed in pieces on bedroom floor. 74 y/o mother sleeping on the floor on a mattress. Store is no help, delivery driver gave bad advise due to being lazy and not wanting to put bed back on his truck. Customer service said parts will be delivered in 5-7 days. Store says 7-14 business days. Called customer service today and they say 5-10 business days. Bottom line no parts and no end in sight. Everyone has washed their hands of it. How this company is still in business with product resolution like this is beyond me. I understand things happen but the lack of care and action on Ashley's part is astounding. When I ask why can't the manufacturer be contacted and the hardware overnighted I was told we don't do that. I asked why. I was told "I don't know" Cleary I will never shop here again and will encourage anyone I know not to as well. read more

On 6/15/19, my son ordered four bar stools and a 3 table set (coffee & end tables) from this store. The sales reps., Carmen Conde and Valerie Sandoval, were very helpful during the purchase process. He paid for delivery, and the delivery date was set for July 6th. It has to be on the weekend because he works, and that point was made crystal clear. So yesterday my son calls to get a delivery update/confirmation, and is told that the bar stools will be delivered on Monday, July 8th instead of Saturday, July 6th. And the coffee table/end tables combo set will be delivered on Saturday, July 20th. Say what?!?! He bought this furniture a month ago, received a delivery date, and now it's arbitrarily changed?!?! And the date is a Monday, which will not work. And July 20th for the rest of the order. It's going to take 35 days for him to receive his full order? That is ridiculous and unacceptable. Ashley Furniture does a great job on the sales floor, but they botch the entire experience with a shoddy and incompetent delivery process. When my son called in to Customer Service to get the July 8 day changed to the weekend, he was basically told by the rep. that she would see what she could do, and that he would get an email and phone call with the delivery updated information. He told her that he was told the same thing the last time he called in, and that he never received either one. I've reached out to our sales rep., Carmen Conde, and I hope there is something she can do to get this delivery squared away. I'm not sure why there has to be two delivery dates, and we're less than two weeks away from a month since this purchase was made. And based on the other reviews, I'm concerned about damage even when he actually receives his order. In lieu of these delivery issues, I can only give one star and would advise others to stay away from this business. Just read the other reviews as well. I will revise my review if someone from Ashley Furniture steps up and gets these issues resolved - and my son receives his furniture soon and in good order. read more

My fiancé and I had our first Ashley's experience ever and were immensely pleased with the service. Lindsey Gibson, otherwise known as "LG", helped us. Her down-to-earth sense of humor, immeasurable patience, and professional efficiency made the experience wonderful and painless without being like a constant sales pitch. My husband and I recently moved into our first home and went to Ashley to upgrade some of our furniture. We received excellent service from Lyndsie to help pick out a dining table. She was knowledgeable and understood the value of being around but not being on top of us when we were looking around. She was so nice to work with that when we went back this weekend, we were both delighted to work with her again. There was no specific delivery date on the end table we liked so she went above and beyond the company line of 'anytime in the next six weeks'. Going to make a long story short... I purchased a bed not long ago, within a month and a half the slats broke due to them being improperly placed buy the staff that delivered it. So, I called customer service and ordered new ones. I was told that it would be 7-10 business days, I called back 1 month later because I haven't received the slats. I was then told that I wouldn't receive them until September(this happened in June). There was no attempt in trying to make the situation right and I'm kind of bothered by it. read more

This was the most horrible experience I have had, and it is not even over yet. I ordered a king size bed frame, mattress, and box spring. After waiting a month for delivery, the delivery person smashed the headboard on the way in. Never even apologized and told me he had paint in the truck and I wouldn't even notice it. After having them take the bed frame and schedule A new delivery, I realized they had delivered the wrong mattress as well. On the second delivery attempt they were missing parts for the bed and could not assemble it. Every person I talked to told me it was out of their control. When the manager told me this, I asked who I could speak to that had control. He told me I insulted him And made very flippant comments to me. On the third delivery attempt, they were missing pieces again. At this point, I have refused delivery of the med and asked to return the mattress and box spring. Where do I begin!? My mom and I went in today just browsing for a new bed. I wanted a memory foam but didn't want to spend crazy money. I thought I'd like a memory foam bed in a box, but when I tested it, the amazing sales lady that was helping me, Lindsey, noticed I was uncomfortable. She suggested I try a TempurPedic mattress, I was very hesitant. I guess they have a scary rep bc they are "unaffordable" and what not. I tried it kind of reluctantly, but oh MAN what an insane difference. I am now a proud owner of a TempurPedic mattress. Had a great experience from the time I walked in. Randy greeted me with a smile and asked how can I help you, told him I was looking for a new leather set for my living room. Randy said take your time look around and if you have any questions just let me know. There was no presser I ended up buying a leather reclining couch loveseat and rocker recliner. Delivery was in a reasonable time. After having the set for a few weeks I decided I wasn't really happy with the set so I called Randy he said to come back in and I could find a new set. Randy then put me in-touch with Michael the GM and he helped me with exchanging the set. It all was a stress free experience! A simple 'delivery may be delayed' note is not broad enough to cover this level of mismanagement. I came in looking for a couch. I found one that was fine. My poor rating comes from the over aggressive sales team and the obnoxious process I had to go through to cancel an order. I was pressured extremely hard by the salesperson in the store to make a purchase - all the used car sales tactics with giving me a discount to even "I'm having a bad month". I wasn't ready to buy as I wanted to look at a few other options, but he pressured me to place the order to hold the couch (even though it wasn't ready to be bought and delivered). I was told I had 72 hours to cancel with a full refund. Then the process of cancellation came into play. I tried filling out a form onlline, but I was directed to the store. I tried emailing customer service to cancel, but they wouldn't cancel, they pushed me to the store. I called customer service and they spent 15 minutes on the phone with me before forwarding my call to the store (all because they obviously wanted a salesperson to change my mind). I spoke to someone on the phone that tried to talk me out of cancelling and offered me more of a refund. I told him no. He then said he couldn't cancel my order either and would have to have a manager call me back to finish the cancellation. I told him I didn't need a phone call, I just wanted to cancel my order. I didn't get a call back until the next day, in which the manager called and tried to talk me out of cancelling as well. I must have had to tell people no like 10 times. I asked each person to ensure that I wasn't getting extended past my 72-hour window. I've never worked with any company that wouldn't just process my request for cancellation. I had to go through extensive explanations with all sort of different people and wasted so much of my time. Even if I like an item from this store, I will never purchase from them again. Literally the worst experience I've had with a company. I bought from them 5 months in advance of when I needed my couch. Never got an itemized invoice and had to call multiple times to get that (they just sent me something showing how much I paid, but not WHAT I paid for). They took my money and told me my move-in date of March 20 was no problem. I called back in January to let them know my move had been pushed back to April. They told me, again, no problem. I called back to confirm within a month of my move - again, no problem. Called to schedule my delivery and that's when the truth came out. They lost my reservation (presumably when I changed my date). Not in the system, no ETA. They barely tried to pretend like they cared. They did refund my money, but now I'm in a serious bind - moving, no couch, and the wait list everywhere is MONTHS long. A SHOCKING number of people told me they had a bad experience, too. Don't buy from them unless you just enjoy being stressed and disappointed. read more

I had the best furniture shopping experience ever at this store. Bryant was so incredibly helpful, a good listener and made everything a very quick and smooth process when I was choosing a sectional sofa. I went back later and he helped me with a table purchase and a bedroom set. He is knowledgeable, friendly, polite, professional and speedy without cutting corners. I guarantee you won't be disappointed if you ask for him when you go. As far as Ashley furniture itself, the store is open, airy and well organized, making for a pleasant shopping experience. Delivery was exceptional- they offer a concierge set up for a small fee, and are in and out very quickly. A staff person from the central office will call prior to your delivery staff leaving the home and ensure that you are happy with the delivery and setup/installation. Waited 3 months for a media stand. Delivery day arrives, and you guessed it, no media stand. I called the store and asked where my order was and got the run around. Decided to pay the store a visit and they give some random explanation that they can let me know the next day but they cannot see in their system what happened. Followed up with the corporate office the same day and they said the media stand was damaged and it could be 2 weeks before the replacement arrives. Store manager calls the very next day and says it could be another 3 months before a replacement arrives. No company should expect someone to wait the time it takes to build a house from the ground up for a media stand. Moral to this short story, go somewhere else. read more

We ordered a bed and when it was delivered it came with out the hardware so they obviously don't check before they leave the warehouse. We had to wait another 7-10 days for it to be delivered. And when it was we had into wait another 7-10 days for them to come finish which we ended up putting the bed together ourselves. When we went to confirm, The store manager said he would give us $100 back and it would take 7-10 days for that to hit my card. 3 weeks later I called for a status and the customer service didn't see the credit in my account and offered me $80 store credit. This was after waiting 20 minutes on hold. When I said that was unacceptable they put me on hold and was hung up on. I called back to wait another 20 min for them to make the same offer and got nothing. This store and the customer service is a joke. read more

5/25/20 purchased dinning room table & chairs. 6/8/2020 delivered by their 3rd party delivery service, table "missing" hardware, so they were not going to be able to put the furniture together. After the delivery person spoke with Ashley Rep and then gave me the phone, I was asked about the chairs since it was the table hardware that was missing. When I informed the rep the driver had stated they were not able to put it together because it was all or none, I was told that was not true and and it would not be put together only at my request for it to not be. So the delivery team assembled the 10 chair and left. 8 of the 10 chairs are wobbling. I called that day to report the issue and was unable to reach anyone, the next morning I called again and spoke with a rep who order a service call for the chairs and stated that the craftsmen doing the service could not do the table because the delivery team had to assemble it. The craftsmen team will call in 7-10 days to schedule an appointment... 6/16 the "missing" hardware replacement is received via USPS and the assembly of the dinning table is scheduled for Friday. I received a text confirmation for Friday 6/19/2020 for between 12:30 and 3:30 and it states has a statement concerning a rescheduling fee of $79.00 if there is not a responsible adult present. At 3:30 I called Ashley as there the team has not arrived nor called to provide a status. In store sale was great, they are even polite when you call, but keep in mind they hire the 3rd party delivery service and take NO ownership other than apologizing for any inconvenience this causes the customer. It has been 11 days since the delivery and still no service date for the chair repair and the table is not assembled. VERY DISAPPOINTED! read more

If you buy furniture here be prepared for lies and misleading information. They truly do not care about thier customers at all. They also apparently will come up with new policies but not inform the customer so that the customer gets screwed over and has no choice but to deal with it or cancel. By far one of the worst customer services I have ever dealt with. I was lied to and mislead by the sales person as to some items in my order. The customer service team has been 0 help and does not seem to care that thier people lie and mislead customers. They will just endlessly come up with excuses so don't waste your time. We had ordered some stuff for our new house. We were told some items would be delivered that week and others were a few weeks out. One of the items was our kitchen table. It got delayed again but no big deal. Our sales rep said they did have our end tables at the time and could deliver them to us if we wanted. We figurd why not wait until the table came in. We'll eventually we decide to not wait any longer for the end tables as it had been roughly 2 months since the order. When I texted out sales rep all of a sudden our end tables were no there anymore and he had no idea what happened to them. I eventually contact customer service and they claim there was a new policy about only holding things for 28 days then they need to clear room in the warehouse. This was something that was never communicated to us or we would have taken the furniture. Now we have no eta on our end tables and customer is still 0 help read more

I ordered bedroom furniture and mattresses for a second home a couple of months in advance of when it was needed. There was only a one week window that was blocked out when it could be delivered based on it being rented weekly. This was very specifically communicated to the sales person at the time of the order. Delivery was scheduled for 6/3 (a Thursday). I was told there would be no problem. On Monday 5/31 I started receiving text messages about the delivery that the dresser was missing. I asked for more details as to whether it was delayed or not being delivered at all and to confirm that it was just the dresser. When several texts were ignored, I called the number the texts came from and the recording stated "We are a text only number no voice mails can be left." So I called the rep who sold us the furniture. I was then was then told on 6/2 that they could deliver it on June 10th instead. Now, everything was delayed, not just the dresser. I explained it was a rental AND WE HAD ONLY THIS ONE WEEK AS DISCUSSED MONTHS AGO AND HAD THROWN OUT THE OLD FURNITURE AND A GUEST WAS CHECKING IN AND WOULD NOT HAVE A BED TO SLEEP ON!! She apologized and offered me a credit. I NEVER publish negative reviews!! And I fully understand supply chain issues due to COVID. If this was my personal home I definitely could have lived with a delay!! My point is how the situation was handled (or not handled) that I had no heads up, no communication -- had I not checked with the store directly I would not have even known it was not coming until the following week. I cancelled my order. Very, very stressful -- If there was a choice for a rating less than 1 star I would have selected it. read more
