Rania was able to get all our pieces delivered when we wanted, worked with her upper management to get a price match for us, and was just as nice and friendly as can be! My friends and I were searching for couches for our student apartments and we were told that we were loitering, after correcting her and clearly stating that we were browsing we were told to leave. We stated our intention of buying something and because we are young we were treated unfairly and with unnecessary disrespect. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS LOCATION! This has been an extremely stressful experience for my partner and me who recently moved into our home on 11/15. Not only do I have to call them each day, I've been made to feel like I'm burdening them about my purchase. Each person's story is different (Shannon, Paris, and Kierra) and they all lack empathy and compassion for this unfortunate mishap. I wish I would have read the reviews first. It seems as though my experiences mirrors the reviews shared for this location. Both Paris and Kierra failed to provide me with timely customer service regarding a $5000 purchase (sofa and bdrm set)! After Paris informed me that they could not split delivery dates, I asked to speak with a manager, she put me on hold and came back to tell me that she would split the delivery and waive the fee. The second delivery date being 12/16, I was told that that there was no furniture on file to be delivered. Upon reviewing the order with their customer service, I was informed that my bed was taken by another location. My partner and I had taken off of work to be available on the delivery dates. After being on hold for almost an hour while at work on 12/16/24, Kierra promised to look into the matter and return my call before leaving the store. Not only did she not return my call, she was out of the office for the next two days and I had to call her back Thursday evening only for her to tell me that no one knows when my furniture will be in. Kierra informed me that her RM will be in tomorrow to discuss my issues. When I asked for his name, she informed me that she could not give out that information. I called back an hour later and spoke with Rhonda who provided me with Malcolm's name: It is my hope that this can be remedied by Malcolm in a timely fashion. The service was pretty good in store. My item I selected is nice and exactly what I expected. However, the delivery left me unsatisfied because there were missing legs to my couch. The delivery guys offered to use different legs temporarily. They are not the same style and I felt like that was unprofessional. They also informed me that they would submit a report for the missing legs and a tech would come within 24-48hrs. However, I spoke with corporate and they informed me that it can take 7-10 days for the legs to arrive, then I would have to call to schedule a tech to arrive and place them on my couch. I thought that I was safe purchasing a 3 seat sofa for my basement at Ashley. This morning, I received my delivery, one month after my ordering unfortunately, it was the wrong item. From the get go I told the gentleman that couch was not what I purchased. The receipt had the right number but the item was wrong. I had to show the picture from the store to convey the driver to take it back... That is not right I call the delivery service immediately and a course of action took place... I got my Sofa: it was the driver's mistake. Regardless of my happy ending experience: I still think that the driver passive aggressive attitude at the beginning was full intimidation to make me accept the item. I concur with all the ratings that Ashley Store received because it is a different experience from the store to the home. I have no complaints about the Capitol Heights store, the order was placed correctly. What is wrong is the supply chain and logistics: mismatching items with wrong coding are problem to customers. A few of the sales reps on the floor acknowledged me but they were extremely busy working with other customers, while some others looked me square in the face and kept walking (or sat down). The large guy at customer service wore no mask and was very rude. He also offered up so many excuses that I lost total interest in what I was looking for. My couch set took 12 weeks to arrive with three pushed back deadlines. When they delivered it could not fit in the elevator. Our place is on the 5th floor. They took it up one flight and left it in the stairwell with my 18 year old. They said they can't go further and left. We paid for delivery and setup. When my son asked about setup they said "get a drill". My husband called the store and was directed to corporate. When he got through to corporate they directed him back to the store. We purchased furniture January 9th and we're provided an 8-12 week delivery timeframe, but we're guaranteed it would not take that long. We were even provided a date in early March. When that date came, they pushed the delivery date back. Over and over. We every once in a while during our conversations they would slip up with reality, telling us it may come by May, then quickly backtracking. At one point when we asked for a refund, they rudely told us it was still within the 12 weeks so they won't provide it and hung up the phone. Fast forward to today, we were forced to go into the store and talk with associates in person to receive our refund, almost 15 weeks after the purchase date and countless calls where we were assured it would arrive within a week, being lied to the entire way. The first time my sectional was delivered there was a large rip in the fabric so the delivery guys took it back to the store. When the second one was delivered, after two weeks the sectional fabric ripped in the same area on the top of the chaise. This must be a design flaw in the furniture itself. I reported this to the insurance company which I had purchased the extra care insurance. So far no one has contacted me on this issue. Do not buy anything from this store because they are all liars and the service department is the WORST. Can you imagine sleeping on a bed where your head is lower than your feet, but your back/stomach is higher than your head and feet? That's what Ashley sold me! Background: While shopping for furniture, a salesman approached us and said that we should buy from the store rather than from their online store because the store prices are cheaper and if we need help with customer service, they would help out. The lies started here. We brought a bed frame and a mattress. Both items on Ashleyfurniture.com were SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than in the store. The salesman acted shocked and told us that was not usually the case. He did beat the online price. And apparently, the salesmen in this store can lower the price at will, because our salesman frantically started inputting different discount percentages in the computer until it was lower than the online price. The bed frame and mattress were delivered to our home. Upon inspection of the mattress, we noticed right away that it was not even. The foot of the mattress was lower than the middle. Even worst, the head of the mattress was lower than the foot. We were told that it takes 48 hours to fill out since the mattress was rolled up. (Note: we also brought a mattress from Sleeponlatex.com and that was not the case, but we thought it was possible since the material was different.) After 48 hours, the bed was still uneven. The indentations were still significant at the head and foot of the mattress. We called customer service requesting a refund or a new bed. Customer service told us we couldn't get a refund because it's been 48 hours! WOW, what a sleazy business practice! Customer service asked me to send pictures and they would send a technician out in 7-10 business days to inspect it. I sent pictures that same day. 15 business days later, no word from Ashley. After my failed attempt of trying to reach customer service. My wife had to call the store to get them to call customer service. Eventually, we got a technician scheduled five business days later. The technician shows up at my house and I showed the technician the mattress and did the measurement myself in front of him. He acknowledged that the mattress was off. He asked me to give him a minute to let him do his thing. I went back downstairs to our office which is right by our front door. A few moments later, I noticed him hastily walking towards the front door to leave, so I stopped him and asked what is wrong with the mattress. He says "Yeah, the mattress is off and you will be hearing from Ashley in 10 to 15 business days." About three business days later, I received a call from Ashley's customer service. They said that the technician told them nothing was wrong with the mattress! I'm furious at this point because he lied! (See pictures) I called Ashley's customer service again. This time I speak to like three different people. The last woman tells me the perception of the bed was considered normal because it was not off by 1.5 inches. Which is not true. The head of the bed is closer to 2 inches off from the middle. And who wants to sleep on an uneven bed? However, I concluded at this point that they will have an excuse for everything. First, wait 48 hours to let the bed fill out and now, 1.5 inches "perceptions" are considered normal. The next excuse from Ashley would probably be that, we had the mattress for three months, so they can't replace it even though I was waiting on them for the hold time. smh. Do not trust Google reviews. Left this same review under Google and it was deleted. After further research, I found out that business owners can delete negative reviews. read more

We purchased a 6 piece bedroom furniture set and 4 dining room chairs a couple of weeks before thanksgiving. We thought the customer service was just adequate. We decided to make this purchase after walking into the store and finding out that they had a deal of 55% off. After getting home we decided to check reviews on yelp. The negative reviews really worried us because most of them were about the delayed delivery time. The sales lady had mentioned to us that they had to order our bed so it could take up to 6 weeks to receive it. We contemplated canceling our order. However, we decided that we wouldn't do that and we would just wait however long it takes to get the furniture ( we didn't expect to get it until after January after reading the reviews). I am glad to say that our furniture was delivered after only three weeks. Everything was as we expected it to be. We would definitely be making more purchases at this store and hope that our next interaction is just as good. read more

Poor customer service! I met a chain smoking staff member outside the front door of the store. The sales associate that greeted me when I came in did not even bother to come find me or ask if I needed help with anything. I felt highly unwelcome, I don't understand why he was given credit for a sale when he didn't even bother to help me. In fact, he was no where to be found when I had questions so I had to go to the desk clerk who helped. I ended up buying what I wanted without any help whatsoever! No promotions or holiday sales information was offered to me. I was given a receipt that did not have any of the delivery specifics stated in the receipt that I was quoted. I was told that the delivery window begins from Aug 24th but when I was called, I was now told Aug 27th. However, the receipt states 8-12 weeks so I don't know what to believe. The desk clerk told me that "they are currently printing out their receipts on paper from COVID". I hope my item whenever it arrives will be much better than their customer service! read more

We purchased a dining room table and 6 chairs from Ashely, Capital Heights, MD. First we had an issue with the displayed prices. they were running a 50% off sale for Labor Day. We found a table and chairs we liked, then the manager indicated the 50% off is off of a higher retail price. First warning sign. He acted like he was doing us a favor and gave us 65% off of a way higher price but only if we bought the extended warranty for another $100. Still, an OK deal for us we bought. We were directed to the pickup warehouse 15 miles away and run by Regency Furniture. Also terrible service here. Waited a long time, over an hour, for our 3 boxes. They made us sign a receipt that said after you leave anything you find wrong is not their fault anything wrong after you leave the warehouse. We got the table home and assembled. 3 chairs had stripped nuts and bolts so there was no way to assemble them. The table also had a large gash in the top and a corner was broken off. We called both the store and the warehouse 7 times. each time they blamed the other. The store said there were no returns and call the warehouse to fix your problem. the warehouse has no one available to talk to and since we signed the receipt they could not help us. They both said we should have completely set up the table and chairs at the warehouse to ensure they were good. That would have taken 4 hours to set up and break down and repackage the table. The Ashely Funiture HomeStore Pledge is "Quality, Value, Selection, Customer Service" received on the receipt. We received none of those with this purchase. I have filed a complaint with BBB, and disputed the transactions with my credit card and the merchandise was non-functional. My entire experience with Ashley's was a NIGHTMARE. I should have listened to a friend that told me not to shop here. Please listen when I tell you, spend your money elsewhere! Ashley Furniture employees have no understanding of customer service. They need to realize customers are what keeps them in business and to treat us with respect and dignity. First and foremost the Sales Associate Yusuf Faruq at the Capitol Heights location lied about the expected delivery date to get a sale. I was told I would receive my sectional by mid September then told by Jackie in corporate that there were delays and to allow until mid November but there was no guarantee. I called the store on September 28th to get an update and the phone rang for 8 minutes and 33 seconds. The manager John answered the phone and asked to give me a call back. When I questioned why he took 8 minutes to answer the phone be became rude. In condescending tone he told me he was the only one at the desk and had other customers in front of me. He told me he would call me back in 5-7 minutes but I never received a call back. I decided to visit the store. Upon arrival, there were no customers in sight. I went to the front desk and asked for John and an employee said he had stepped outside for break. I began to tell her about the deceit regarding the delivery dates and my frustrations about the Sales Associate. She asked who my sales person was and I pointed to him as he was sitting there in a swivel chair. He swung around in the chair and started raising his voice at me and from there it turned into a verbal altercation. During the altercation, the manager walked up but the representative continued to yell...he even yelled out that he had my information and that he would have "100 goons" come to his store. The manager did not intervene, he just stood there. When I began to tell him about the discrepancy his attitude was even worse in person than over the phone. He even raised his voice at me. Days later, when I had time, I called corporate to get an update on my furniture and to complain about the threat received my Yusef. I spoke with Jackie and had the call escalated to the Customer Service Director, Leeanne Abujuma. Both not only disregarded everything I stated about the encounter I had with Yusef and questioned why I would wait to notify corporate but implied that I had made up the entire story. Not once did they apologize for my horrible experience. They were very dismissive and unapologetic. Leeanne Abujuma told me she had to contact John to get his side of the story. As a customer, I am offended that they would utter those words to me. I understand they have to do their own investigation but meanwhile you're to apologize to the customer for their frustrations. She told me she could not apologize for something she didn't know were true. I asked her if she could review the audio at the store and she replied "I don't know what they have" I am currently waiting to hear back from Mr. Holder, the regional manager. With the horrible encounter from everyone thus far, I have no hope that I'll get a resolution or empathy for the horrific, poor customer service. read more

We tried to fix it was keep falling apart and it became unsafe to keep it at home given that we have two small kids. My sectional came yesterday 8/8/23 and it came damaged. I called the delivery and the store as soon as I saw the damage to the right arm corner chaise. The sofa seat is not firm like the other seats. When I spoke to them yesterday I was told there was another one in stock. Now today 8/9/23 they don't have one. They want me to pay $150 to return it and it's has not been 72 hours. They changed me $169.99 to deliver damage furniture. The Ritchie Station Court are a franchise Ashley's they own the Regency and the Marlo's Furniture they are robbing on the low. They gave me damage furniture and will not replace it but want to repair it. I paid for new furniture not damaged or repaired furniture. I just want them to come and get the furniture and give me my money back. They giving me the runaround because they are trying to run out my time to get a full refund back. If I based this only on my initial experience, it would have been 5 stars. Kevin was amazing as a salesman. But, somewhere they messed up my order and when I called, they acknowledged the error but never followed up. When I called, "Casey" hung up on me twice, and another CSR hung up on me twice, which prompted me to go to the store. When I arrive, of course, "Casey" was gone. I initially asked for Casey's name but they refused to provide it. I spoke to the manager Kiera, whose demeanor was so poor, she did nothing to address the young ladies hanging up on me, then refused to refund me stating my item was "in transit" and would take 5 days to arrive (15 miles distance between DC and store) although it was promised on 7/17. Then, she accused me of taking pictures of one of the girls who was so rude when I was on FT with my sister who wanted to see a picture hanging on the wall. I told her I didn't take a picture and offered to show her my phone but she refused and rather told me to leave. I advised I wasn't leaving without a refund or the merchandise I had already paid for on 7/15. She called the police. When the police arrived, that's when I was able to get Casey's name (they volunteered it to the police but refused to provide it to me citing privacy). Unfortunately, their actions caused Kevin to lose his commission on my sale and thwarted my plans to return to purchase furniture as I just moved into a new home and my son just moved into his own apartment. I reached out to their corporate office and they have yet to respond. They lost a customer for sure. Been shopping at Ashley for more than 20 years. Havertys just gained a customer. read more
