My best experience at a nail salon ever. I came in the day before and they had no availability, but Ashley was able to get me in the next day. She filed and wrapped my nails to take off gel polish and then Danny finished taking it off and gave me a manicure and new set. I have an injured pinky nail and they both noticed and were very careful about it. They both were extremely gently but still fast and efficient. I am sensitive to the e-file and have been burned by other nail techs before but I never felt any discomfort with either of them. Danny asked if he could use it to gently buff my nails-usually I have to fight with the nail tech asking them not to use it on my nails. I wish I was staying in Ithaca because I love this salon and service now. Also great prices and they only take cash, check, or venmo. read more

I noticed the long term repeat customers who were coming in while I was there and it was clear there are many comfortable long term relationships going happening here. That speaks well of a business. I'm a little conflicted on this place. I came here today for a fill (I had gotten my full set done elsewhere), and Ashley was very professional at first, asking me what I liked or didn't like about my nails. She took about 30 minutes on my nails, and they look pretty good. So why not 5 stars? For any sort of shape (like stiletto, coffin nails, or almond), they charge $5 more (the acrylic full set is $27). Ashley mentioned how thick and bad my nails were, and how she hates doing "fixes" for other people's bad jobs, and how she frankly doesn't like doing acrylics. Overall, I would come again! read more

When I say I'm very particular about my nails shape, it's an understatement. With that said... I recently became a regular customer at Ashley's Nails, as my regular nail tech in Liverpool changed his hours and it is no longer convenient for me to drive an hour to get my nails done, but then again when it is convenient to drive 60 minutes for nails?!?!? I initially wanted coffin/semi-stiletto shaped nails. Ashley did her very best, but the shape just wasn't quite right. I suggested stiletto nails instead and she did an amazing job. My nails were extremely thin and sensitive, which she was mindful of. She was very gentle and constantly asked if I was happy with the shape and when I asked her to continue tapering the nails, as I like them very sharp, she never became defensive. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is a small family owned shop. She and her husband are the manicurists, and her mother does the pedicures. Walk-ins are available, but the shop is a bit busy, so make an appointment instead. My whole experience was pleasant. I've received so many compliments on my nails. Been here for a pedicure twice. I called ahead and they were able to fit me in. Walk ins are welcome, but they are a small, busy salon, so I recommend calling for an appointment. So insanely friendly, did a great job, and made sure I was satisfied with what she was doing to my nails while she was doing them! Worst manicure I have ever received, if you can even call it a "manicure". While it was cheap ($20 for a gel manicure), I now know why. No extra services such as cuticle cutting, hand massage, or lotion are included within the normal charge. There is polish ALL OVER my skin. The shiny top cop is clearly over all of my nail edges, and my actual nail color is also present on a majority of the skin around my nails. When I asked the man who did my nails to clean them up, he told me my nails are short and so that "always happens". Don't waste your money here. read more

They use good wax (like European wax center in Cali) and she is very thorough. Her and her husband, Danny were very nice and I felt like a regular right away. I really wanted to like this place but just a few days after my gel manicure, the polish has started to peel and the bottom part is completely crooked. They already look messy and I'll need to get them taken off in the next few days after not even a week has passed. So my daughter and I went here pre-wedding to get our nails done. Ashely Nails is hands down the best. I was new to getting regular manicures, and Ashely talked through her services with me and helped me decide on the gel dip powder to meet my needs and lifestyle. My nails were extremely damaged and short when I first started going to Ashley, and just a couple months later my nails are long, strong, and healthy. I workout a lot, including boxing and lifting, so my nails always take a beating (literally) and I NEVER have to worry about them chipping or breaking. I was on a work trip in Ithaca and heading directly to a wedding in Boston. Ashely Nails saved the day after I had destroyed my own manicure (typical of me) and was looking like a five year old had done my nails. After a brief consultation with Ashely I tried powder gels for the first time and I was super happy with them. They last way longer than regular gels for me and there's no UV light (not ideal for my fair skin or your skin either!). Now they're all I get at my home salon in the Roc. Many thanks to Ashely & her coworkers who squeezed me in during Cornell's reunion weekend (of all times!) and saved the day. Their technique also really shined as these bad boys lasted 3+ weeks with zero chips. I got lots of compliments on them, too. If I'm back in Ithaca and in the market for my nails to get done I would definitely go here again. read more
