I needed a set of acrylics removed and a gel manicure. I am happy that they soaked off my acrylics instead of popping them off. However, the woman didn't file my nails before soaking so I sat for 20 minutes and nothing happened, until a different woman came and filed the surface so the acetone could start working. I am happy with my manicure but overall I was there for around 2 hours for a simple service. Also, the woman getting her nails done next to me was telling the nail tech that she was starting to get fungus on her nails and the tech just continued working and providing services. Very concerning as I feel many products will now be contaminated with fungus. I won't be returning. read more

I got the worst pedicure in the world at this place. The girl that gave me the pedicure nicked me with the electric file when she was taking off my nail polish. She scrubbed my feet as if she was falling asleep, using the cuticle cutter on the tops of my toe nails instead of around the toe nail, and none of my toe nails were even! Then they still charged me $28 for the BS and I didn't even get my toes painted after the tragedy I just went through. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It even looks bad inside! I came in to Le Nails recently for a pedicure, but I ended up leaving very disappointed. While I appreciate the fact that Le Nails has comfortable massage chairs for those getting a pedicure and such, I have to admit that the comfortable chair was one of the only real positives of my experience. Upon arriving, I briefly spoke to a woman on the staff, picked out my nail color, and sat down. A few minutes later, the woman came over and started the pedicure treatment. Sure, there's a leg massage with some scrub, but it's nothing above and beyond any other place that I've gotten a pedicure from. Add to that the fact that my toenails were cut and filed to be at least a bit crooked and my polish was done unevenly? Um...not so awesome. Basically, I'm giving this nail salon 2 stars instead of only 1 because of the comfortable chairs and the extra bit of attention my feet received with regards to my callouses (I wear high heels a lot at work, so I tend to have some callouses on the back of my feet, etc.). Otherwise? The experience was just sorely disappointing and I'll be going somewhere else for my next pedicure. I even came back home after my experience at Le Nails and removed all the polish and such that they had applied, filed my nails to look even, and THEN re-polished my nails. If I could give this place no stars I would. I went to them once 2 years ago and my polish smudged (toes) so they poured remover on my toes and completely ruined a pair of $150 shoes that I cannot replace. After moving locations I figured I would give them another try. I went yesterday and they are not at all adhering to the social distancing guidelines. Not only that but the woman who did my pedicure was aggressive and rude. She kept putting my foot in an uncomfortable position and when I tried to move she would would firmly hold my foot down. She would grab my leg and push my feet back in the water etc. It was like she was mad about something and taking it out on me. She also dug under my nails so hard that now my toes are red, swollen and throbbing. She ripped the skin off of my heels, cut my nails uneven, burned my legs with the towel and my massage if that's what you want to call it was about 15 seconds on each leg. To top it off she had a major attitude and every time I tried to talk to her she just rolled her eyes. It was a painful nightmare. I will NEVER go back!!!! read more

Kathy is great! I love this place cause they are great and very reasonable. A gel manicure is $26 and a French gel which I got was $30. Kathy is perfection when it comes to the white tips. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my nails and she does a great job! The only negative part of my experience was the owner told me my toes were dry. I put my socks on and went home. When I got home, my toes were smudged. Not too happy about that but my fingernails look fantastic! read more

Would do zero stars if I could. I went here 3 times and had the gentleman each time do my pedicure - the best - very professional, great job, no complaints what-so-ever. Yesterday I went - he was busy - so either his daughter or niece did my nails. She was very unhappy that she hadn't finished her lunch (we told her to finish - no hurry). She clipped my toenails unevenly - 1 even clipped at an angle that took one whole side off - wth. Then she cleaned under the nails forcefully. She proceeded to clip what she called "hang nails" - kept telling her it hurt and she simply kept going - used clippers on sides and along top of toes until they were red and raw. Did no filing or shaping what so ever. Asked for OPI polish - she said "use this one - I like". I said no gel - use OPI. She proceeded to use polish she wanted. Everytime I tried to talk to her she just ignored me - no language barrior - just rude - was more interested in watching tv. I have never encountered such an attitude. Today I got up and toes are very red and swollen. Stopped back in to talk to them - the woman I believe is the owner told me - "NO PROBLEM. all hangnails need clip - uneven nails will grow back - just put some ointment on toes - will be fine - don't worry". read more

First time visit and I left without the pedicure. I walked in and they told me it would be 15 minutes. I had some slight wiggle room for waiting, but not much more, so I stayed. As I sat down I noticed all their pedicures they were working on were pretty early in the process, so they basically lied to me. This was proven as 20 minutes later, I was still waiting. I got up to leave, but they then ushered me straight to a chair. I then sat in the chair, my feet in warm water, for another 15 minutes, thinking that at any time they'd get to me. At that point, they shouted to me, "two minutes!" so I waited those two minutes, and then got up to leave. They didn't even apologize. Look, if you're busy, just say so. Give a reasonable estimate of how long it will be. That's better than outright lying. In all that time of waiting, I also noticed the salon was quite dirty. Le Nails is in the corner of the shopping plaza that houses Pier One, Barnes and Noble, and Tops. I've only gone there a few times but have been happy with my services on each occaision. I have to admit that I usually go to Miracle Nails on Route 13 next to the Hampton Inn, but last week, I needed a pedi and Miracle was too busy, so I went to Le. My pedicure was perfect. The operator took the time to razor off my (huge) heel callous, gave me a long and luxurious leg massage, and was careful to make sure that I was out in time. Maybe the best thing about Le Nails is the fabulous massage loungers. Each chair has an option for a buttocks massage. It might sound weird, but it's really great...you can sit there and have your butt and hips massaged while getting a pedi and no one will even know. Very relaxing. read more

I tend to be a bit ticklish and sensitive to even minor pain and I am pleased to say that she's the best out there. It's usually around $35/40 for an hourlong pedicure and it's worth every dollar. I needed a manicure and pedicure prior to heading out of town. This was the first time I had been to this salon, and because I live elsewhere, I don't have any other Ithaca salons to compare it to. I was very happy with the service, I didn't have an appointment and it was near the end of the day, but they still managed to fit me in for a regular pedicure (with art) and a gel manicure (with art). I don't remember the woman's name who did my services, but she was very friendly, though she tended to try to up sell services, but that doesn't really bother me. I'm now 2.5 weeks out from my gel manicure and it is still in great condition, which is NOT normal for me--as my nails are thin and usually a manicure only lasts me 4 days or less prior to chipping. I work in the veterinary profession and even got tissue glue on my nails and even that didn't mess up my manicure. My regular, non-gel pedicure is still going strong, even after several days in Florida with the beach/sand, which usually is the death of any pedicure. No, the place is not as posh as they come, but I was very happy with my services, the staff, prices, and how my manicure and pedicure look 2.5 weeks out. If I lived in Ithaca, I would definitely come back here. read more

I found this place just driving by. They had clients at every station, so I assumed it was a good place for a set of nails. Boy, was I wrong! I'm a nail tech myself, and the list of things they would be shut down for is a mile long. (Using a razor on calluses is illegal in a salon in NY) But, as a client only, here's my issues: My nails look awful. They were all crooked, with acrylic on my skin, and big globs of acrylic stuck underneath that she didn't bother to fix. 4 days later, and they're all lifting off. Definitely not what I expected for a $50 set of nails. Grinding down the natural nail is NOT needed, and you're taught in nail school that it should not EVER be done. All that needs to happen is a light buffing to remove the top layer of oils. My nails look terrible, and it'll take at least 6 months to repair the damage they did to my nails, despite me asking the woman to not grind my nails, and asking that she remove the acrylic from my skin and from under the nail. It took me an hour to even make them presentable when I got home. I'll certainly not be recommending this place to anyone. read more

I took my 8 year old niece for a fun adventure the othe day that included manicures. I really really wish those manicures had not been at Le Nails. We walked in and 2 nail techs were sitting watching TV. As soon as we asked for manicures they decided to do manicures on the 2 other women there that were getting pedicures so we then had to wait 20-30 minutes. At first my nails looked great, admittedly. But the women were in a rush to leave and didn't let us fully dry so we both ended up getting smudges pretty quickly. But then it got worse! I don't know what that woman did to me but my nails have been cracking and peeling- something that has never happened to me before. And the polish selection is awful. The only positive thing I can say is that the woman did put a couple of flowers on my niece's nails, free of charge. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. read more

The place is very dirty and the fumes could knock you out. Waited for 30 minutes as a walk in. Didn't get much of a foot massage. But the real bummer was when the pedicurist drew blood while cutting my cuticles. Barely said "sorry" and had me put my foot back into the bath. She put oil on it and kept poking at it until I asked her to stop. I was concerned about putting nail polish on, but she said not to worry. When I got home I put antibiotic ointment on it. Will never go back there. Since I wrote the last paragraph a few days ago, I got a fungal infection. Clearly not sanitary and cutting cuticles is also illegal. bad all around. I went in 2 weeks ago for a manicure. The technician filed the tops of my already thin nails, i asked her to stop, but the DAMAGE was already done. she said she was trying to get the ridges out. I had to cut my nails as short as possible and keep protective gel on them. So I figured she was just the wrong person for me. I went back today to get a pedicure, I am leaving tomorrow for vacation. A man was the tech. It was worse than if I had done it myself. He did a sloppy job, the nails were not evenly cut, polish was missing from the sides of some toenails, andm y cuticles were messy with polish- i just wasted $27, 45 minutes, and time at home to fix my manicure. I was hesitant to go here with all of the bad ratings but I like to judge things for myself. I went here for a pedicure and I am as pregnant as a house. They were very friendly and the service was excellent. They were super helpful and they even put your flip flops on for you as not to mess up your nails and if they do get nicked they fix it immediately (I thought that was really cool seeing as how I can't reach my feet) My pedicure looks amazing! No problems here and the massage chairs are a nice touch : ) I would definitely recommend this place! read more

VERY disappointed. The customer service was extremely poor. I had minimal issues with the man who put my set on--my nails were not buffed enough and two of my nails could have been filed a little better (they are uneven and not completely smooth). The woman who painted my nails was the one I had the real issue with though. I had wanted two colors: one for the whole nail, one for tips. You'd think that would be a simple task. She used both colors for tips (literally putting each OPAQUE color on top of one another, leaving the rest of the nail bare. I asked her, "aren't you going to put the color there?" And after re-explaining what I had already told her I wanted SEVERAL times, she started ranting about how ugly it would be and how it would turn my nails yellow to put color on a new set and how it would "ruin" my nails. I can't tell you how many times she said how ugly it would be and that they looked "natural" and "pretty" as they were. But obviously I didn't CARE if that would happen because I don't LIKE "natural-looking acrylic nails." Apparently the customer's opinion and taste do not matter at ALL to this salon. (I even asked my sister "do these look like me?" to which she replied "not at all.") So, after FINALLY letting me take the nail polish off so she could do it the "right way," she was excruciatingly rude, took her sweet-ass time coming back over and immediately upon returning snapped at me that "this will be $30" multiple times as if I didn't already know. She proceeded to INSULT my choice in colors saying they "won't look good with each other," clanking the bottles (one black with faint cool-tone sparkles and one emerald that exactly matched the sparkles) together angrily and repeating herself in a fury. Of COURSE she did a WAY SLOPPIER JOB the second time and the nails look HORRIBLE. My tips are uneven and she globbed the green on so heavy, I got air bubbles galore. I was about ready to walk out of there without even paying, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I do although believe I should not have had to pay full price ( or at all for that matter) considering how I didn't even actually GET what I paid for. It's ridiculous that this is how they treat a first-time customer because now you couldn't even pay me to go back there. I have to agree with all the other bad reviews. My daughter and I waited for 2 hours. They did the pedicure after 45 minutes and then kept us sitting in the seat for about 45 more. Then they moved us to the dryer! After 30 minutes more, I asked about our manicures. They told me that a group of 5 (that arrived an hour after we did) had appointments. I would have understood EXCEPT that I was there when the group came in, and they asked if the salon took walk-ins - so they did NOT have appointments. I agree that it is dirtier than most. Ugh, I wish I had read these other reviews BEFORE I went in! I am in town for a conference, and decided to get a mani-pedi to kill time. I left with the tips of all 10 my fingers red and raw from the blunt trauma they sustained during a fast-paced and aggressive cuticle clip. Two of them are actually cut so short and into the skin that they're bleeding. The first thing I did when I got back to my hotel was slather antibiotic ointment on them. It HURTS (throbbing, burning) ..... and the girl who did my treatment must have seen I was bleeding and how red and raw she made the tips of my fingers. Yet she persisted to snip away. The polish looks okay, but OUCH!! I'm actually worried about working effectively on Monday because I work with my hands in the medical field. And I'm no drama queen and can definitely tolerate pain. Mani and pedi should be enjoyable... I just paid a stranger to torture me for 45 minutes. STAY AWAY if you value the use of your extremities!! read more

I got a gel manicure here Tuesday morning. It was the worst gel manicure I have ever had. The guy that works there was rude. And when someone finally got along to doing my nails for me, she was rushing o get done because it was 6:30 and they close at 7. Awful service. Since she was rushing, the polish was uneven and bumpy and all over my cuticles so it lifted the first day. I was very unhappy. Yes, it was cheap. But, I went to miracle nails the other week and even though it was more expensive, I paid for quality that lasted the full two weeks.
