(2 for $2.50 Powerade deal currently, which isn't a bad price for a gas station). The corn dogs were calling my name... which weren't too bad! Freshly fried at 8:30 in the morning haha! 2nd stop, we were on our way home and decided to grab another corn dog for a road snack. We ended up getting: - fried chicken strips (charge by the pound) - 2 jalapeno cheese corn dogs - they charge for dipping sauces (we got sweet & sour and honey mustard) Not a bad rest stop if you ask me! In result it's already late evening when we arrived Packwood. Restaurants are closed and no nearby town in Packwood that has eateries. That's why 24hrs convenient stores came in handy. This location don't have packed meals but still grateful for being available 24/7. So canned goods and cup noodles are enough for us to fuel evenings to our tummy who's struggling to function well. Oh btw, their aircon here is always in blast so prepare to grab your sweater/jacket coz it's freezing in here. Lol. The staff is not the friendliest but I can managed to that. Since I was already here I filled up and went into the market for a soda. This is not a great location and the store was run down. I had a gentleman who started up a conversation about my campervan at the pump advise me on my way inside that I was better off using my own restroom facilities so I didn't even bother checking them out. You can find better prices on gas in the area with a little research so here's hoping you do better than I did.

Not only was the staff friendly and professional, but, the place was spotless and every thing displayed better than any store I have ever been inside! The hot food case and the Subway station were perfectly filled and displayed. The staff was busy cleaning, preparing, and organizing the store/restaurant! Every candy bar and bag of chips was set out neatly, there was not a drop, or, finger print anywhere in the self serve drink areas. Good gas quality is what make this gas station a great choice to fill in your car. Price is steep but you can't go wrong with 'em. It even have a convenience store where you can buy something quick to munch along the road. And the best part is every Thursday is Fajita's Day! I kid you not but this fajita is so good. Like a perfect breakfast to munch. Nothing fancy to it but boy, they taste so good. The recipe is from one of the workers and locals loved it so much that they decided to include it in the menu every Thursday. They're stores that "generally sell all the things". This shop definitely achieves that. The day before, we were hoping to go to a grocery store but of course there aren't any. We happened upon a "market" which was nothing more than a gas station mini mart that didn't carry much at all. I had lectured my cousin at that point that the place to pick is always the General Store. One day later, we came here. It was a bit musky and run down looking, but the lady working there was super nice and the shop itself had TONS OF STUFF. Need pvc piping? This is your spot! Need random fishing supplies, you can get that here! Missing your pet cat at home? Come here and meet Samsung and make up for lost cuddles! Okay okay, in all seriousness though, we came here for a resupply on foods. We were able to purchase ground beef, pasta sauces and organic pasta! There was also a huge selection of ice cream and ice cream bars too. Not too much for the vegans, but that's to be expected. HOWEVER there were two instant noodles that were vegan/vegetarian-friendly, which was more than enough to make me happy. I didn't buy anything but was thoroughly impressed with my exploration of their curation of "general offerings". There were hatchets, ice scrapers, mops, cleaning supplies, random souvenirs and pretty much anything you can think of that you might need to get when staying in a cabin for a few days. One bummer was they sold out of eggs, but at least they carry them! Did I mention you need to visit because of the kitty? She's the cutest and had an adorable bed set up in one of the aisles. The general store itself carries a wide variety of items from food, to pet essentials, to ice cream, to crayons and pvc pipes. If you need it, chances are you will at least find some kind of compromise. While shopping I experienced a wonderful surprise when the sweetest kitty came walking up to me. I was curious if he was a cradling kitty, lap kitty, or only touch me when I want to be touched kind of kitty. If you're a cat or animal person, you know exactly what I mean. To my extreme delight she allowed me to pick her up and walk around the store with her. Her purring was so loud you could probably hear it on the other side of the store. Samsung made my heart so happy that day! Come for what you need, and stay to give this sweet girl love! You will not be sorry.
