I did notice that some prices are marked up, for example the hot tub cleaners and such. (Almost by double vs Amazon). Overall, a wonderful spot for your mountain home needs and gifts. Mountain Home Center sold two covers for the same property in Incline Village. Both failed prematurely. When we raised the issue, the company's president responded that "covers don't last long up here," that they sell "hundreds every year," and that owners should expect to replace covers every couple of years. In other words, they know these products aren't suitable for Tahoe conditions and sell them anyway. The cover sold was a residential foam-core model installed at ~7,500' elevation, exposed to high UV, snow load, and daily vacation-rental use. When it failed, the blame was shifted to "heavy use" and sanitizer levels--both completely foreseeable conditions. The problem isn't Tahoe. The problem is selling underspecified products and then disclaiming responsibility when they fail. There are heavy-duty covers available for this market. Mountain Home doesn't offer them. If you own or manage property here, proceed very carefully.

this review is long overdue. paid for a chimney cleaning, they needed to disassemble the wood…read morestove to properly clean it. they didn't re-assemble it correctly leading to the bypass handle breaking on next use. told them about the problem. was completely ghosted and ignored. i decided to withhold payment until the wood stove was fixed. ended up spending thousands more on a new wood stove since i needed a working one for the winter. i was "fine" with this situation since i didnt need pay for the cleaning due to them breaking my wood stove. almost two years go by and i get a call demanding for payment. i was stupid enough to answer the phone when busy and told him to handle this through text / or email. was hostilely told no this cant wait. i figured withholding payment for two years was fair in exchange for them breaking my wood stove so i decided to pay it. i deeply regret paying. i highly recommend going with another company for wood stove and chimney services. if they end up breaking something on the job they wont own up to it and fix it - you're on your own.

We were dealing with a leak at our fireplace chase and cap, and unlike the other companies we contacted, Michael actually went up on our two-story roof to assess the issue firsthand. Others didn't even bother to get on the roof. He thoroughly checked our cap and flashing, confirmed what was in good shape, and clearly explained what was needed to be fixed. We also had an added complication--our solar panels run right to the edge of the fireplace. Several companies refused to even consider the job unless we removed multiple panels (and none had even gone on the roof to look). Michael said it wasn't a problem, brought out scaffolding, and handled the job safely without requiring any panel removal. Within a week, he had a new chase manufactured and professionally installed.
