We asked them for an estimate for paver installation on our back and side yard, and it was obvious from that point forward that they were serious about providing quality work. Their bid was impressive - professionally done and included all necessary detail. And the total was significantly less than that of a large competitor whose bid looked like chicken scratches that someone had done while writing on their knee. Their work was equally as impressive. The crew was hardworking and communicated with us at every step to ensure all our requirements were met. They offered many helpful suggestions, and the finished product looks great. They did encounter a minor issue with a short section of fence that we had requested, but they ultimately found a solution that worked perfectly. I can definitely recommend their services.

I had four bids from different companies. I told them my budget and a general idea of what I wanted to accomplish and I made it clear that I am not a landscape designer so I'm looking for ideas. Cliff paid attention to what I was saying and took my original idea and scaled it to fit my budget and made a couple very nice changes to bring it all together. I can sit in my backyard now and really enjoy my new patio along with my flowers and garden. Yes, I would hire them again and yes, I would recommend them to my friends and family.

Cons: Cleanup left something to be desired and there was a surprising amount of damage done to my yard. Crew took it upon themselves to fill the area around the perimeter of patio (where a trench was formed during form removal) with drainage rock. When asked about it, the crew member stated that he "wanted to try something new" and "didn't want to ask for permission." Huh? They did clean up the rock after I got back in contact with Ryan. Crew told me he would make it look nice, and instead left two gigantic piles of rock in front of my house. Why even bother telling me you'd make it look nice at that point? I will admit it did get a chuckle out of me. It was a mixed bag of an experience for me, but in the end I am happy with the patio and driveway - which is what matters most.

There was a crushed storm drain pipe under the existing portion of driveway that was causing water back up in heavy rains. R & M had to carefully saw cut and pick out the existing concrete, lay in a new 4" pipe, encase and protect the new pipe in the proper rock and then put in new exposed aggregate concrete to match the existing. PERFECTION! You'd never know it was done except that the original concrete is not nearly as good as the new work. This was an exceptional job. Next ... 203 feet of driveway leading up to the house. The existing gravel driveway with all its country charm was not working for us for several reasons. We did the math on putting in a new asphalt drive with it's maintenance needs over 50 years versus a "one and done" concrete install. Concrete won. OMG ... so beautiful. I've had experience with concrete installs in residential and commercial applications. I know what I'm looking at when I see the work done. This was the best work I've ever seen. Last thought to share. FEED YOUR CONTRACTORS. They really appreciate it. It's really easy to put out sandwiches, chips, and beverages. Have it delivered if you need to. It clearly means so much to the crew and a good break with healthy food fuels a good afternoon's work.

First of all, there are a few trades you want to be careful about going with the lowest bid…read more Concrete is one of them. You get a fly-by-night crew messing up your concrete, and there's no easy solution. I got three bids on my patio. Sione's was the most expensive. But in the walk-thru, Paul noticed things the other contractors didn't. He asked really good questions and provided a price quickly. His decades of experience was evident. So I decided to spend more and use him. He and his crew didn't disappoint. I wanted an arc on the end of the patio, and they worked on the form until I was happy with it. They answered all my questions and I had a lot. I'd overseen a lot of commercial concrete in my career, but was unfamiliar with several things they did during this residential job. It wasn't wrong, it was just unfamiliar. They explained why they were doing what they were doing, so I withheld judgment until the end. There were a couple of details in their prep work I wasn't happy with. They changed them without complaint or argument. And they cleaned up after they were done. On top of everything else, the crew was amazingly fast. Concrete is brutal work, but these guys moved like a well-oiled machine. The result was a beautiful product. No low spots, perfect slope, clean joint, beautiful radiused edges. I will definitely use them again when I'm ready to replace my old driveway. And I will recommend them to anyone I know looking for quality concrete work.

TL;DR -- Danny stole a ton of money and vanished…read more Longer write up: Danny Baer, operating as "DB Structures" at the time, took on a contract with me to perform concrete flatwork for two structures. The contract began fine - we started around August 13th. I paid a deposit. Within a couple of days, the first red flag came up, as Danny asked for additional deposit. Reluctantly I went ahead. Danny would show up here and there over the next month, putting in just a couple of hours here and there. The project pace was extremely slow. Communication was pretty poor - I would have to reach out to find out when he was going to continue working on the projects constantly. Around Sept 17th, Danny showed up with two helpers. Danny quickly left the job site and the helpers were not very clear on what needed done. I pulled out my engineering plans and was able to direct them through the necessary work on forms and rebar. Honestly, I might as well have gone to Home Depot and hired helpers myself at this point - the helpers told me that they didn't know Danny well, they weren't employees of his or anything. Danny did not pay those day laborers - I ended up having to pay them. He also did not pay for the rebar, I ended up paying for that as well. At this point, you're probably sensing all the red flags. Yes, they're piling up. After that day, Danny just... totally stopped showing up, and did not reply to many, many attempts at contact. I was very busy dealing with personal things and let the projects just sit, especially while I tried to figure out how to afford someone else coming in to complete the work. Finally, out of the blue, on Nov 7th, Danny responds to me. I don't feel like typing it all out, but, he made many assurances, and did not ask for another dime at this point, and insisted he would see the projects through, plus help with some of the other work after the concrete is placed and cured. Cool, I can work with that. We were supposedly set to place and finish one of the two structure's concrete on Saturday Nov 22. Danny assured me, over and over again that entire week leading up to it that everything was set. Saturday morning (7:15am) he texts me that the line pump rental was not available at 9am as planned, but will be ready at 11am. I had a nagging, not good feeling starting to sink in. He also claimed he was "on the way" to the job site. Of note, as well, is that I had to reschedule other work that was supposed to take place on the 22nd for another job, so that I could be available and also not have the long driveway blocked, preventing access for concrete trucks. At noon, I attempted to contact Danny asking for an update. Being the time of year, a late start doesn't leave a lot of sunlight left for the job, finishing it in 4-5 hours seemed unlikely. No concrete trucks have shown up, and no helpers/crew have shown up, either. Zero response to my contact. Pretty sure I already knew the answer, but I called *every* local batch plant within an hour's drive from the job site asking if any had my name or address for the day. Not a single one did. This was a ~45 yard job, so it's not something you just get the day-of. Many weren't even open by this time. 1pm, another contact attempt. Still no response what so ever. I spent the next several days attempting to contact Danny, but, you already know how that ended up for me. Now, I had to contract with another company to complete the work. Several months behind schedule, and out the deposit (plus material and labor) money on top of the new bid. I also have had to cancel/delay other contractors and county inspections numerous times, which just makes me look like an idiot to all these other people. I try to be very accommodating and understanding, which, unfortunately got entirely taken advantage of this time. Danny no longer has the LLC, as he Administratively Dissolved it on Nov 3rd 2025. From what I've been able to find, he never had license, bond, or insurance either. The LLC's UBI number was 605 571 868. His phone number is/was (360) 867-8437, but also may be (360) 505-0690. Email commonly used is/was dbstructures@icloud.com. I am seeking legal avenues for this as well, due to the amount involved. Depending on that resolution (and frankly, my memory), I may come back and update this review.

As soon as we signed our contract, he and his crew were out almost immediately for demolition over the weekend and poured the new panels just a few days later before sealing everything post-cure.
