Not at all greasy, sometimes when u get smash burgers theres quite a bit of grease in the bread and all over really, not theirs!! The staff was so friendly and hilarious too, Im so excited to make it back in every month! They even offered me a glass of the monthly cider while I waited for my food to be made! The poor things have fallen victim to the lovely ongoing traffic, but dont let stop you from popping in. Their parking is accessible! I tasted their cider at the Broad Ripple farmers market and they told me they had a restaurant. So I tried with my friends. I can say that if you are looking for lunch/brunch place on weekend, you need to try this place. We had chips with 3 different dips and Brussel sprouts for appetizers. I had the Mediterranean bowl for my lunch. Everything tasted good and fresh! My friends also liked what they had. They tried cider flights, also. I like their ESD so I just went for it. It's a nice friendly place. This is not a huge restaurant but big glass windows take lots of outside lights in which makes you feel this place is very spacious. Made a reservation for Trivia for a party of 5 and was seated at a plastic fold-up table with folding chairs. It was incredibly uncomfortable. In my opinion, they should not allow for reservations if they do not have capacity. Love the Bloomsberry cider! Love the cider, but the food is just okay (and overpriced in my opinion). We had a business dinner with a large group of friends, and one of our younger local friends recommended this restaurant. The space is bright, modern, and trendy, located inside what appears to be a renovated factory-style building. They offer a wide variety of ciders made on-site. I tried the Boysenberry Cider, which was fresh, flavorful, and very refreshing. For the table, we shared several appetizers, including different styles of fries, bacon Brussels sprouts, and nachos. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals, which ranged from smash burgers to protein bowls. I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl with rice, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, tzatziki sauce, and cider-braised chicken. It was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. I like their cider but I had never come here for the sit-down dining experience. They are on Washington street and have a free parking lot. They didn't have a menu book and there was a QR code. We went for lunch. While their cider is absolutely wonderful, I was a bit disappointed with the food. I got a smash burger and chicken tortilla soup ( glad this was an option as a side). Soup was great, and I should have gotten a big bowl of that. Smash burger's patty was dry, lacked flavor and umami. It's a smash burger so it didn't have any sauce in it, so it was bland as a whole. I will always love the ciders but may not come back for the food. Had a GREAT time at bingo, 10/5 stars for the entertainment, but the food was dreadful. The pretzels seemed like a good deal, where you can add a second for $2, but I see why - they're definitely the cheap, frozen kind. The cheese sauce was a very strange flavor and grainy. Our waiter was nice but pretty MIA. Drinks were good (especially the mulled cider) but the first round, over 30 minutes before the event started, took more than 30 minutes to receive. The nachos were soggy with way too much of the same gross cheese sauce (I didn't realize it was the same sauce when ordering, so that's my mistake). Lots of upcharges here for very low quality items, which is a bummer. The chicken tenders were hard and burnt, but the bbq sauce was good, despite being $1.50 to add. The fries were the frozen kind so nothing exciting there. My friend's burger got cold while waiting on bacon, which was thin and black, dropped off by the kitchen. By the time our waiter came, we were done eating what we could. Overall, I would never, ever eat here again, especially when 3 ciders, 2 apps, and 1 entree was over $100 for such low quality food, but I'd check out bingo at the other Ash & Elm location in Carmel. Went with some friends to the monthly drag bingo. The food was rough. The drinks and entertainment were great! We got the pretzel, which was okay but tasted like it came out of one of the frozen packets you get at the store. I got the burger and added egg and bacon. The bacon was missing, and by the time they finally brought it out my burger was cold. The bacon was VERY burnt, but I couldn't find my server to alert them of the issue - I ate it because I didn't feel like waiting for fresh bacon and an even colder burger. For $3 for bacon, 2 burnt pieces is absurd pricing. The burger is small in size for the price, so not somewhere I'd want to eat again. I'd come for the drinks and events though! read more

We actually fell in love with Ash & Elm Cider from the grocery store before knowing they had restaurant locations. But as soon as we looked into, we knew we had to try the cider fresh from the tap. And it didn't disappoint! They really know how to make a crisp brew. Their location is just east of downtown in a nice up-and-coming neighborhood. We easily found parking and they were not too busy at lunchtime during the week. Excellent service, no complaints. The food was also really good. My husband went for the Cuban Sandwich - typical of him - and he really enjoyed it. I had the Harvest Salad and was equally impressed. We will definitely be back. This place deserves a lot of love! Aside from the great food and beverages, a hallmark trait of this restaurant is its inclusivity. In a culinary sense, it is a haven for gluten free diners and there are also several vegetarian and vegan options. Their menu is truly amazing for gf indulgences - fries and all desserts are gf! I also learned that they are making changes to their menu soon so that all fryers are dedicated gluten free. As a mom, I can enjoy going out with my toddler in tow at a hip cider taproom and feeling welcomed wholeheartedly. They bring over a coloring page and markers and have a great selection of affordable kids meals. The staff are always relaxed and friendly, often sharing recommendations. Came to Indy for TS weekend. I love how all the local businesses went all in for the weekend. Ash & Elm Cider had a custom Taylor Swift menu with the most creative menu for the weekend. Although the place was slammed, our server was super nice and took care of us. I tried the blood orange cider and it was very good. I normally am a wine and beer person but this cider wasn't overly sweet... it actually reminded me more as a hazy ipa. My swiftie burger was the double patty. Definitely surprising since I'm used to cider places that don't have a kitchen and rely on food trucks to come by. The taproom itself is a big open space with pretty cool decorations. I was fortunate to have my birthday celebration down at Ash and Elm on my birthday last year and it was just perfect. I've had Ash & Elm ciders in cans at events around town, so I was excited to use Devour Indy as an opportunity to check out their taproom and restaurant. We were seated quickly on a Sunday and left to take in the light-filled former industrial space while we mulled over the menu. Ciders: my partner and I split a "special flight" (Tropical Escape, Obscura, Marigold Chai, Sugar Plum) and a "flagship flight" (landstone, wayfinder, sunset, fleeting youth) that were brought to our table quickly after ordering. Really enjoyed Sunset and Fleeting Youth--better on draught than what I've had from a can previously, though both are good. The Marigold Chai was warm but light and fruity. That one, along with the Tropical Escape, made me seriously consider joining their cider of the month club. As far as food goes, the mozzarella bruschetta wasn't bad but I was hoping for more of a "gooey" cheese. It's hard to make a good bruschetta when so many of the ingredients are out of season, but I felt like the mix could have used some more time sitting in balsamic vinegar and oil. I loved the Southwest Bowl piled high with pickled onions, black beans, guac, lettuce, and pork, but my boyfriend really disliked like pork (we both loved the guac). To each his own, I guess! The cider donut balls had a good flavor, but were a little too crispy. Overall, I'd say the ciders get 5/5 and the food gets a 3/5. I'd give staff the benefit of the doubt that they're pretty beat by the end of Devour and would try the food again. read more

I got a few appetizers and snacked on them while we played and they're all fantastic! My only complaint is that the space has little to no parking. We were pleasantly sat quickly, and greeted quickly as well. I started off with a glass of rose. Not a big cider or beer guy. Overall, pretty good. My wife and I did the devour for two. We started off with the elote fritters and arancini. The fritters were amazing- the sauce that came with them was to die for (I thought about licking the plate to get it all off). The arancini were fried perfectly, had a great crunch, and the marinara tasted fresh. I had the beef bulgogi bowl. It had fresh vegetables, and was great. I also ate the rest of my wife's steak and fries from her surf and turf- fries were great. We had donuts and a coconut brownie for desert. The Parmesan fries were so good as well, and I enjoyed the sauce they were served with. For dessert, my husband and I split the Coconut Brownie and Cider Donut Holes. The brownie had a rich cocoa flavor, and I felt the coconut flavor really shined through. I came here to take advantage of the Devour Indy 3 course meal and I was pleasantly surprised! The location is just outside of downtown on the East side in an industrial building. Just follow the signs posted on the door and you'll see the entrance. Stepping inside, I LOVED all the colors and decor of the restaurant. My table was seated immediately and we had our orders taken within 5 minutes. My boyfriend and I got our own 3 course dinners, so we decided to get 2 different appetizers for max variety possible. We got the arancini and elote fritters. The elote fritters were amazing, and the tangy sour crema that's served on the bottom is what makes it so great. The arancini were also delicious, but I just wasn't *as* impressed. For my entree, I got the vegan bowl which came with white rice, fried breaded tofu, kimchi, mushrooms, and avocado. The server informed me that the kitchen ran out of broccolini, so they replaced it with double kimchi. Honestly, I have a low expectation for anything vegan, but this bowl was filling, healthy, and delicious! Tofu is a difficult protein to cook correctly, especially fried - Ash & Elm's tofu is so crispy! For dessert, we both got their cider donuts that came with a yummy caramel sauce for dipping. To be honest, I didn't taste too much of the "cider" in the donuts, but the sauce made them extra tasty! They have flights available which made that super easy! We also grabbed some food while we are there. Their kitchen is great. I loved all the food I ended up getting. They do a last call for kitchen so make sure you get there well before closing. They do have some decent vegan options if that is your jam. They release seasonal ciders, I'm excited to try their fall releases. Definitely recommend going to their location downtown! The employees are top tier and willing to walk you through everything. Love: The cider. I especially loved Sunset and Strawberry Lemonade. I had another one that I think was blueberry that I liked too. They were all good, but I loved the Sunset and Strawberry the most. I see there are rotating ciders, I'm going to come back to try more. Like: The food. I tried the cider braised chicken, it was good. The menu was small, and most of the food looked good but the small menu I'm not sure about. I won't come back for the food neccessarily, but I'll eat when I'm here. I think based on the food I'd give it a 4, but the service was excellent so I give 5 stars. My server Lisa was so attentive and explained everything, answered all my questions, and was cute to boot. Came here for the first time as part of a Feathers and Fermentation event. Their cider hits it out of the park. I especially loved their seasonal orange earl grey cider which I cannot stop thinking about. The others were also very tasty and even my picky partner enjoys their cider which says a lot. I'm not sure if it was the beverages but their cookies were some of the best. I only tasted a couple appetizers after the event but the pretzels were something that really stuck out to me. Randomly had Ash & Elm Cider (Bloomberg- highly recommend) at Fat Dan's (see separate review) and got a craving a week later! This restaurant is just up the street from the actual brewery and it is great! Plenty of room. Easy parking and access from the sidewalk. In the bottom floor of the Assembly Apartments. We did two flights and an appetizer of Brussels. We prefer sweeter and all were good (Cherry and margarita were the best)! Fist trip and we are already planning on a second (plus growlers! We have been wanting to check out Ash & Elm to try all their cider options. They have a few ciders that are always available and then rotating flavors throughout the year. We ended up buying the cider sample pack from the 2022 flavors of the month and are excited to try those later! You can either buy a glass or do a flight. For the flights, you can sample as many as you want and each sample is $2.25. Between my husband and I, we tried most of the rotating/season flavors plus their semi-sweet. I've had the tart cherry before but I would say the tart cherry and semi-sweet were my favorite! All had good flavor though and were interesting to try. We also came home with a 4 pack of the chai flavor and a growler of the Autumntide. We weren't super hungry so just split some fries- the aioli and ranch dressing were delicious. The cilanto lime had way too much lime for us but everything else was good- the fries were crispy and fresh. The menu has lots of gluten free options or ways to make meals gluten free too.
