Hospitals have their challenges, but my experience here was better than at most others. Not every technician or nurse may excel, and the doctors might have their off moments, but overall, the team is genuinely trying to do its best with the resources it has. My father was admitted over a holiday, which made things even more challenging, but everyone was at least willing to listen--something I can't always say has been my experience elsewhere. I want to highlight a couple of exceptional team members: a nurse named Sabreen and a PT/wound care nurse named Melissa. Both are five-star professionals who deserve raises for their outstanding care. Although this hospital is not located near us, I am grateful we made the drive here, per our doctor's recommendation. Parking is convenient, and there are plenty of nearby dining options. The hospital is undergoing renovations, so noise can be an issue at times, but I understand that such work has to be done eventually. read more

Nurses have really changed. I was shocked at how unsympathetic they were. Their objective seemed to be tough love--criticizing me and shaming me for my health problems. One aggressively addressed my "failure." It was very upsetting. The exceptions were, ironically, two male nurses. Unfortunately many people are stuck using Seton Northwest. Atrocious and suspicious. All they do at seton is give you ketorelac and a lactated ringer. Doesn't matter why you're there. Enjoy your 10000$ ketorelac and a nice lactated ringer and gtfo (after some condescending comments from an irritable nurse). Broken arm? Diabetic shock? Black widow bite? Enjoy your ketorelac and lactated ringer and check in with your primary care doctor. That will be the 10000$ please. Also have very good insurance and never been charged more than deductible at the hospital but for some reason I was sent an additional bill of 1000$, which I just gave up and paid and now 8 months later I'm getting a call from dept collectors for even more. I had shingles on my scalp, it was not a complicated visit I just didn't know why my scalp hurt so bad and vision was bad. It was spreading to my eye. They didn't even give me steroids to protect my vision. Enjoy your ketorelac and lactated ringer. read more

Very sorry experience. My brother was in ICU and I had ask the Dr. to keep hin a few days make sure he is ok before he send back to the Nursing Home. They didn't a few days later the man died. Who sends somone in ICU to a Nursing Home they get sorry service also. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the level of care and professionalism at Ascension Seton Northwest. My wife was in severe pain and dealing with an infection, yet we waited over 4 hours with little to no acknowledgment. Despite clearly being in distress, she was told she wasn't a priority. Watching her cry from the pain while the staff downplayed her condition was heartbreaking. To make matters worse, they took in people who had just arrived, while those of us who had been waiting for hours--including three others--were ignored. It felt like our time and our health didn't matter. Some staff were even laughing while we sat there in pain and frustration. It was disrespectful and dehumanizing. My wife is not the type to go to the hospital unless it's truly serious, so to see her treated this way was incredibly upsetting. I would not recommend this location to anyone. If you need emergency care, go to the Ascension location on 38th Street instead--they acknowledge you, they treat you like a person, and they actually care. read more

very quiet, clean, fast, professional and friendly and understanding, nothing like California lol Upon arrival I showed my medical card and Identification at the check in counter. There was no line, I was taken to the back room to be weighed in and immediately I was given a bed, all under 20 minutes. Wow absolutely has never happened to me nor any friends or family I know in California. After my evaluation of what's going on I have recieved some allergy medication and steroids. My breathing seems better but eyes are still a Lil bit puffy. I'm really glad that I stopped in today because this situation might have been worse. This hospital has a great support system. Beware Fraudulent billing department! My father, 81 years old, went to the ER for treatment. They failed to bill his insurance correctly and turned around and billed my father directly when they have a contract with my father's insurance company. They took $5,200 of my elderly father's money instead of doing their job. They received more money billing my father directly than they would have gotten through the insurance directly. My father call and I called trying to get him reimbursed. Zero help and lied about trying to bill correctly. read more

This is a terrific ER! Check in was very easy. There's a straightforward set of questions, you show some cards and ta da! Medical bracelet on the wrist. Registration was very easy--on the phone. But you must know it comes on your phone. I wasn't looking at mine. Decided after 30 minutes to check and realized I needed to do it. It would have been nice to have been given a heads-up. Medical assistant, Ashley, gave me good information when we were interacting.  It saved me time with the PA when she came in. She also explained the items being used for my procedure she brought to room. The PA, Alexis, was wonderful.  She explained a lot of things to me and why we were abd were not doing certain things. I truly appreciated that.  She also reacted to me expressing so pain I hadn't mentioned, which resulted in an x-ray. The x-ray tech, Brad, was friendly, made process go quickly and smoothly. My nurse, Ben, was easy to work with, clearly explained my discharge information,  and helped me with my excuse from work. As you can see, there is fabulous staff at this ER location.  You will be fortunate is you interact with just one of them. read more

I'm currently in the ER and an ER Doctor literally joking about getting bad yelp reviews and bad talking patients while I'm in front of them. Literally just happened so here it is. As a patient this is what I've observed of their treatment of OTHER patients. Nurses don't care, doctors discharge patients who've had blood transfusions to tell them to follow up with there primary care doctor. (2 units) Nurse comes by and YELLS at the patient because English is not the patients first language. Patient near me broke their back after passing out and they just gave them pain meds and discharged the patient. My personal experience. I've gotten discharge paper work with the incorrect diagnosis. I've been in multiple times and have been discharged just to pass out multiple times within 30 minutes of being discharged then I came back and they literally left me in a bed and did not check on me just to discharge me without any further testing or understanding of why I passed out. I asked the doctor for a differential diagnosis and he got upset and immediately discharged me after I barely got hooked up to the IV that HE prescribed me. He had a nurse come and take out my IV while I called my employers medical consultation line. I understand that medical professionals go through a lot. I get it. It's an emotionally draining and mentally exhausting profession. The lack of sympathy that most of my (male) doctors and regular nurses have is really sad. (Most of the Nurse practitioners I've had were very nice and pleasant) I don't think you should be in medicine if you don't have empathy and don't have any bedside manner. Also maybe it's all the hospitals here in Texas but your doctors, especially the male ones I've encountered are condescending and have no bedside manner. People don't come to the hospital for fun. For most people they are in terrible pain (me), not feeling good, sick or it's the worst day of their lives. Recognize that and humble your staff. Also I've heard some of the most unprofessional conversations as a patient in this ER. read more

I remember back in the 90' All seton hospitals were great. What made them great this organization was run by Nuns they had the best care,and best service period . But it's not run by them anymore . The service has gone down,service,customer service bad shortage of nurses maybe or not enough nurses hired.i even heard an older man crying out load Help Help. No one was helping him my wife was admitted 7/24/25 and I have to tell you service has been not Good. Maybe the nurses have so many patients maybe. Even the room my wife was in was hot. Highest temp was 68 . So I had to go get a Fan from the store to hot in that room. So our experience on Seton Hospitals have been sad to say 2 stars if that. read more

Inconsistent care, inconsistent compassion, at times very little interest by doctors. Nurse were mostly helpful. over in pain. The assigned doctor (dr. Cruz) did not seem to care what the patient thought. He rarely waited for the patient to complete their thoughts. All in all, they sent me home three days later still in pain, in tears with no cure and just a guess on prognosis that did not track with symptoms. I've been here a couple of times with family members, never had a problem until today May 9th in the Am. Emergency check in lady, Triage nurse, x-ray tech, medical tech, provider, and medical assistant are all very helpfu and knowledgeable. The problem is until we are in the discharge room waiting for documentation when (what I assume is traige charge nurse for that day. Blonde late 40s- 50s) who charges in the room literally yelling at my Aunt (the patient who's not well and has a language barrier) "ma'am this is only for patients you need to leave now" mind you there other patients in this room who get startled by the tone of voice this "healthcare profesional" used against my Aunt. I imidiantly get up my chair as I wasn't aware and wasn't told by the tech that I was my supposed to be in that room but I just assume I could as he mentioned "just wait here for discharge paperwork and you guys are good to go" I assume I could be there since I'm translating for my aunt. I notice how this nurse is baffled that I'm not the patient and she basically just yelled and the patient who's in distress. My aunt proceeds to tell me she felt belittled and helpless as you can definitely hear the condescending tone she used against her. I feel as this is an act of discrimination against hispanic nom English speaking people as my aunt was in the phone speaking Spanish. You can assume that your "safe" of the discrimination in a hospital but your not. I wish I have gotten the ladies name but unfortunately I was taken a back and wanted into to focus on making my aunt feel better as she was in physical pain and from the racial hate that she/we had just experienced. I did try to contact the complaint line but no luck I followed up with an email as well. read more

Great ER Always clean and never seem to have to wait long to be brought to the back. The doctors listen to me each time k come in, the nursing staff is always polite and knowledgeable. The only bad thing so far is the lobby is a little dated, looks like a hospital from the 90s. And their guest wifi is slow. read more

My friend was sent to this hospital to be hospitalized by an urgent care doctor. I had to drag him there. The PA that did his intake was arrogant and didn't think the radiologist read his X-rays right. He thought he could go home. After I pushed back he agreed to check with their radiologist and said they could do a CT "but it's a lot of radiation...". Which is bullshit by the way. It's not going to hurt you to do one and he's using a scare tactic to try to avoid running more tests. Of course he was wrong and the CT proved my friend would die without hospitalization. His arrogance and second guessing specialists is going to kill someone someday. I don't know his name but he's a body builder who doesn't wear ID. My mother had a surgery done there, and she had the worst experience with the intake receptionist. Nobody wanted to help her with questions she had. When she would ask a question they would get upset for her not knowing. Nurses and doctors did a great job with taking care of her actual surgery and were polite. Also nobody in this hospital seems to be bilingual, they would bring a computer to translate and walk away. I would suggest maybe having at least one bilingual person and someone that actually enjoys helping people, and not just collect a paycheck and be on their phone. read more

I had a fine experience on the hospital side. But the clinic for pre and post op visits was a horrible experience. They don't offer any virtual care so I was forced to drive 30+ minutes each way for a sub-5-minute appointment with the dr. For my post-op visit I came in expecting to finally get my results and pathology report after waiting two weeks. I wanted over 30 minutes in a freezing room before the dr finally came in. She didn't have my report in front of her but said everything looked good. I asked how I could get a copy of my report, I was told it was in my portal, it's not. I then asked if they could provide it, and they said I could wait for it to be printed. So, after waiting, they came in to say they didn't actually have the report and had to request it. They also claimed they sent it to my primary dr, but how did they send it if they don't have it? And how does the dr know the results of my test without the report being in the office?? I've left the office and am still unable to get a copy of my pathology report, and have no confidence that they will actually get it to me. The staff was not helpful, and it's not surprising that they have terrible reviews! read more

I've been to Seton NW, a couple of times now, and I've had the luck of having them both as my care providers on each visit. They ensured I was comfortable and well cared for in the emergency department. Both took their time with me, didn't rush me out, and made me feel at ease because I knew I was getting great care. I have been trying to register my wife for her due date for over a week now. I have called 3 times, and each of those times the same thing has happened: I talk to operator, who transfers me to another operator, who then transfers me to...somewhere idk. The final transfer rings for 10-15 minutes until eventually the call disconnects. Are the people in the maternity center unable or unwilling to pick up the phone? Do the operators just not actually know where to transfer me? Clearly there is some matter of incompetence here. This is supposed to be a simple clerical task, a simple registration and entry on a calendar. This isn't quantum physics. If the staff here can't accomplish such a simple task, how am I supposed to trust them to deliver our child? They've got all these fancy accommodations, but can't run a simple phone directory and calendar. I will talk to our OBGYN and see if there are any other hospitals she can recommend or if she can get to the bottom of this. Barring that, I'd rather risk a delivery at home. read more

I sought medical attention three times for chest pain. Diagnosed and treated for sepsis, but missed pre-sternal abscess and osteomyelitis. They assured that chest pain was muscular. Due to delayed treatment, irreversible health complications occurred. I had bad experience with these doctors: Gowrigari, Neelima MD; Katkoria, Gopal MD; Barrett, Nicholas Richard PA-C (ER). The attending nurse and Dr. We're professionals. Those are the only good comments I have to leave. The other nurses and doctors on staff were loudly gossiping about patients and speaking ill of them. At one point I could hear a representative from your hospital refer to someone as "fish bread". This is not very welcoming, especially for somebody who is there to get a concussion checked out. I was accused of being pregnant then later was made fun of because they assumed I was trying to over diet. Ascension Seton Northwest will misdiagnose you, ignore any conflicting info you have to prove they're wrong, refuse to run any diagnostic tests that could prove them wrong, talk down to you and be rude to you, and have extremely sluggish slow response times when you need assistance, even if you're in extreme pain. There are some great nurses and medical assistants here, but the doctors who make all the big decisions are horrible and mean. You will end up begging them to discharge you before you're any better just because you can't stand to endure being a patient there for a second longer. Austin Regional Clinic in Cedar Park is miles better if you can afford it, never go here. read more

Dr Allen was rude and all honesty disrespectful. My wife has been there many times this year with many different things. He pretty much reprimanded her for coming in again when she was on pain and shaking. She tried to address her other concern and he straight up told her " You've been here too many times this year. We went ahead and red flagged you. I'm not even going to address your other concern." Okay I can see if my wife was going in there all the time asking for medications which she does not. As a matter of fact when they try to give her medication she denies it. He was just a rude arrogant a****** and should not be in the medical field if he's going to be treating people that way. She has insurance and has a medical condition that causes pain and seizures. Suck it buttercup and treat them whether you want to or not. The patient/customer is nothing but a numerical data entry point to this operation. All I needed was a simple radiology test. Request form from Doctor was submitted, appointment was made for a week later (thru a Philippine call center 6000 miles away, of course!). More required forms to fill out by cellphone interface submitted. When I checked in, instead of one of the three available personnel at the front desk helping me, I was instructed to "check in" MYSELF at their stand up kiosk. Then the kiosk directed me BACK to front desk, where I was told to sit and wait for someone to take me for the test. THEN 15 minutes later, one of the SAME front desk agents escorted me to take the test, ONLY after handing me ANOTHER form to fill out!!! A DAY LATER, I get a call from their call center in the Philippines. SILENCE for 30 seconds while, like an idiot, I keep saying "hello? hello? hello?". Eventually someone starts speaking...because they program their system to make calls, wait for you to answer, THEN tell one of their phone agents there is someone on the line....WHAT A RUDE WAY to treat people!! The reason for the call? TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT for my test!!!! How stupid are these people? One would think their "genius computer system" would ALREADY know I had taken my test YESTERDAY!!! read more

Love the ER, ICU, and L&D. Doctors, nurses are very caring, quick, and thorough. All staff, kitchen personnel to housekeeping do a superb job. When I know I'll be stuck in the hospital, like after having a baby, I want to know, how's the food? What are my options? Especially during covid when it was unclear if anyone could run out to grab a bite for dinner. The omelets are fantastic! Even outside of a hospital I'd be happy. This used to be a damn good hospital.. went in today with my son who was born there in 2014. They had no computer access. they had maybe 6,7 people in the ER. My boy was running a 104.9 temp after taking cipro for 3 days... theproceeded to tell me to do paperwork and wait until we were called.. after 30 minutes going back up to the front desk lady... she was on her phone.. not doing shit. I feel as if you come in with a 105 temp on a 9 year old it should be some what prioritized.. not at all. even with insurance and all the bells and whistles. I ended up telling them to piss off and I took my son to Children's Medical Center at 183&620. they were amazing there. we were in a room within 3 minutes and we did the paperwork after they got my son comfortable and taken care of. I'm sorry Seton... but yall need to get your shit together. read more

Worst experience I have been through over the last eight months but I just made a determination that I'm done. Quickest version eight months ago my daughter fell in the monkey bars at school and had blood in her private area. Pediatrician recommend we go to Dell Ascension North. One stitch and three hours later got hit with a $35,000 bill a month later..did not qualify for medical aid..Nobody will talk to you there. Everything's done through Billing got the bill down to $18,000 over the last eight month of dealing with escalation department in the Philippines .. was told to ask for the Director of operations there and had to deal with the security guard when I got there and everything went bad. After 10 minutes or 15 minutes of her doing nothing and making sure the person I asked for I would have no way to communicate by email ,phone call ,or talk to in person with everyone else just listening and doing nothing she then got smart with me. I got frustrated and swore and then she attempted to through me out. Talking shit to me all the way to my car actually trying to escalate the matter. I'm a Former Marine did not fall for her game .. all I wanted to do was see if I could settle for somewhere around 10 or $12,000 which is three times more it would of cost at the emergency room in a regular hospital. The security guard while walk to my car said I didn't have enough money to pay for my doctor bill. She was a disgusting human being, and a complete failure to law-enforcement. Reviewing a hospital/medical facility is something folks can have varying opinions on. Especially when you're having an emergency situation on a weekend and feeling terrible and not getting any better. Then you drive to the ER hoping for any cure. This weekend my husbands temperature went up to 104 degrees, the few days before were at 101 and I thought maybe it'd subside and just pop some DayQuil. Plus I'd been babying him with lots of soup bought from the Randall's down the street of their deli section. He wasn't getting any better, brain feeling like it was melting, super hot, unable to really walk and constant nausea. One cool thing I really like preferred to First Choice ER is there is a mini emergency online page where you can "make an appointment" to be seen within 15 mins of a time if you're wanting to show up and not sit so long in the waiting room. We showed up at 12 but I could only snag a 2pm spot but got taken back around 1:20, they do their best with the staff and getting folks back in a timely manner. From there we were able to get seen by Heather, a really sweet nurse and staff who were able to help triage and assess what could be ailing my husband. They drew blood, took temperature, did an X-ray on chest as well as urine sample. The blood test results were to be assessed and wouldn't be ready until they could deduce what virus was affecting him. They did some swabs to test for influenza and the doctor was very through Dr. Andrea Martin was very sweet and kind and caring unlike our other ER visits in the past where they see dollar signs and would charge lots of excess tests and shots without explanation. Facility was clean and a tv was in the room as well since we stayed for around 4-5 hours. Finally, Lola the financial admin went through the paperwork with clear and precise instructions and explanations which was 100% appreciated since we were apprehensive from a past visit from First Choice ER where we were mailed a bill for $1500 without a cost of expense breakdown. Husband was shown what 80% of insurance would pay, and the 20% out of pocket for him totalling approx $500. ER expenses suck but Seton did a great job in taking care of my husband. Hooked him up on some IV meds and got him feeling better. Hopefully he doesn't have to go back anytime soon. read more

The people who check you in don't ask your symptoms just "ID & Insurance". You could be dying and they would ask you to sit in the lobby until a room is available. Basically was told that because I don't have insurance that they can't do anything for me that I have to get a primary to be taken care of. Told me my pregnancy test was negative but my urine sample was sitting in the room this hospital is a complete scam all they want is money. in a nurse's own words i almost went into a coma from how much mag sulfate they had me on postpartum. they didnt pay attention to how i was doing. i had to grab a nurse's arm to beg for help. i'd never recommend this place to anyone. i thought i was going to have a stroke. i couldnt see straight, i couldnt even pick my arm up, i couldnt sleep but also couldnt stay fully awake. i didnt even get to meet my baby until she was 12 hours old because of how much mag they had me on. THE TRAUMA. also, all except for that nurse were exceedingly rude to me. i had my first daughter at 19 and im assuming thats why....because i was 19. one nurse told me to try to get up to pee with her help and if i couldnt to sit back down. i took one step and she said "sit down im not going to injure my hip again for you". i also expressed concern for a while about my swelling. worried i had preeclampsia. i was told i was fine up until til the moment i was induced for severe preeclampsia at 36 weeks pregnant. i hope they have different staff than from 2021 now. i would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Once again, Seton coming in clutch with awesome care. This experience was actually back in December. The day before my birthday, I went in for a 3-day migraine. Normally I can just suffer through those, but dang it, I did not want to be in pain on my birthday! Same check-in procedure as before, though my wait time was longer, about an hour. They explained to us that all the rooms were full, but that they were expected to get cleared out fairly soon. Annoying, but that's how it works. Once I was taken back to a room, I had blood drawn and an IV started, and then waited for the doctor. Unfortunately it was a bit of a long wait, but the nurse dimmed the lights so I just closed my eyes and listened to a podcast. Once the doctor arrived (and I'm so sorry, I forget his name!) he actually apologized for the wait, explaining that a heart attack came in. Dude. No need to apologize. This is an emergency room, not a predicament room, so a heart attack takes priority over a migraine. Anyway. I got a cocktail of meds in the IV, and then he left me to nap for awhile. Thankfully, the pain began to decrease and I was able to actually sleep for about an hour. Once I was done, I was sent on my way. All in all, I still only spent about 5 hours there... trust me, I've been in ERs way longer than that for pain control. I'm really really glad that I live so close to this hospital. If I don't need an ambulance (please god let that never happen) getting myself there quickly is easy. They are definitely my first choice for emergency care nearby. read more

If I could give -10 stars, I would. Please choose another hospital if you become ill. I waited ALL NIGHT to be diagnosed with a blood clot on my l kidney, fluid in my kidney and my kidneys were failing. An emergency situation in which I was running fever, vomiting and in very bad shape and STILL waited hours upon hours. I just came home from Seaton NW after an emergency visit and stayed 3 days. I've been to this hospital before and told the EMT's I did not want to go there but instead St David's but for some reason, they insisted I go to Seaton. I wasn't happy. I ended up being admitted and the nightmare began. Let's start with the food; in a word? Disgusting and virtually NOT EDIBLE. Cleanliness? The room was nasty and there was blood splashed on the mirror above the sink...it was never cleaned despite me pointing it out. The shower was broken. The nurse's station was virtually deserted 80% of the time. I was so afraid to touch ANYTHING for fear of catching MERSA. Be Smart...Don't put your health at risk. There are much better hospitals. Suffice to say I WILL NEVER, EVER GO TO THE HOSPITAL AGAIN...YOU shouldn't either. read more
