I would not just pick any doctor to do my first surgery…read more Doctor Peter Ruff is a great doctor: intelligent, careful, kind, and concerned. Very articulate, his consults where some of the best i have ever had. His calm, positive presence really helped me post-surgery and post-diagnosis. Terri O'Way, the office manager, is an angel who oversaw Urology Austin's correction of a problem i had with the billing department caused by cuts in Texas Medicaid. Unfortunately these billing issues delayed my surgery by 6 months, and by then my tumor had become infected. * When we are ready for a real solution to America's healthcare problems - the simplest, most compassionate, most cost-effective plan - which every other developed nation except the United States has for these reasons - is: SINGLE PAYER UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE / MEDICARE FOR ALL

After a year of talks and tests, he persuaded me to have my prostate surgically removed. A year and a half after the surgery, my frequent-urination problem had not improved. His only advice was to have patience; sometimes bladders took a "long time" to "settle down" after a surgery. I consulted my family-practice physician. He figured out that the frequent-urination problem was not caused by something with my bladder or prostate. It was caused by high blood-sugar (diabetes). After I changed my diet and started taking diabetic medicine, my urination problem went away. How is it possible that after years of medical school, and more years of being a practical urologist, Dr. Ruff was unable to imagine an alternative explanation for an old man's frequent-urination problem other than that it was caused by a malfunctioning bladder/prostate? I can only think of two possible explanations. Either he is deeply stupid, or does not care about the welfare of his patients. My advice: stay away from him.

I was very skeptical after nearly a decade of poor performance, and avoiding dating and relationships so I would not be humiliated due to the inability to achieve an erection. I found Dr Kansas' casual and frank conversation on ED refreshing and relaxing. After trying the usual over the counter drugs, he asked me to consider a penile implant. After looking over the hardware, I have to admit that it took me a little time get use to the idea. He assured me that, since the typical over the counter drugs barely worked, and my new wife was very supportive, I decided to proceed with the surgery. After recuperating from the initial surgery, my lovely new wife and I could not be more pleased. Sex is excellent again, my doubt and self-consciousness is completely gone. I only have to manually pump up my parts, but the sensation is every bit of wonderful as it was when I was 35. If your ED is causing you extreme anxiety and humiliation like it did me, please consider this procedure. If not for you, how about your wife or girl friend. She'll be all over you again. PS - I also suggest that you start working out again. You'll be needing those core muscles again guys:-)

Within hours of my visit to ARA for some kind of imaging, Dr Aleman called me to let me know we had a date in the morning. I had two more surgeries (in the same week) a couple years later because I wasn't taking the meds she had prescribed. She commented on whatever she was focused on (which I also can't recall), which I was confused by. Usually, "Hello, I'm so-and-so." are how normal humans greet one another. I came to her as a middle aged man with recent abnormal growths on my anatomy that sometimes means cancer. I was scared to death, out of work and also without insurance, so I was paying a significant out of pocket just to speak with her. After her examination she told me it was benign, in a scoffing manner. As if I somehow bothered her with my request for help. As if I was some hypochondriac in her office daily. TBH I wasn't even sure what benign meant entirely, but she seemed so annoyed at me, I just wanted to get out there as quickly as possible. If you want to be treated like cattle, you'll find the care here sufficient. The front desk and nurse staff were pros, however.

Update: lowering my score as I've seen three physicians here, felt rushed or lack of info on each visit, usually you're given up to 15 minutes with a doctor per most insurance plans but here you only get 5. It's been a consistent trend. I went hoping to get information but instead I was brushed off and given a prescription that I didn't even need. I've been coming here for over ten years on and off and it's just gotten so much worse. Dr Mobley heard my situation for less than five minutes and said "if it's not bothering you don't worry about it" and rushed off as I tried to say it was bothering me. Saw dr Jones and again less than five minutes, just wrote a prescription that I didn't even need and finally ordered some test. Then I see his nurse practitioner to go over the notes and she to time with me but she made a suggestion that previous doctors told me would be bad for me and kept going on about it even after I said it was a bad idea and I've already done it. We had to wait for more results. She was supposed to call me with the final results. Two weeks later and I got a call from someone else telling me to make a telehealth appointment. I've already seen three doctors there, paid all my bills, was told I'd receive a call with results. This place really doesn't have its ish together. I decided to look up the owners and it seems it's private equity. I really feel that the doctors are being forced to burn and churn.

They are horrific in terms of returning calls, ordering lab work, working with pharmacies and more. I understand they are overburdened but if they have so much traffic that it causes months of delays, you could argue they should have the revenue to hire more staff and streamline efforts. Also, they do not acknowledge any challenges they create and there doesn't seem to be any escalation paths at all. Walk away.

We have never seen such a brilliant, compassionate, friendly, kind doctor with an excellent job. Dr. Baker removed my husband's one kidney successfully due to renal pelvis cancer. He cleaned all connected organs. He also found and completely removed cancer in the bladder when he did a biopsy on the renal pelvis. My husband and I are incredibly amazed at his excellent job, kindness in the complete positive sprite. He always explained everything in detail as we understood quickly and easily about what was going on, listened to our questions and concerns patiently, and explained everything thoroughly with peaceful smiles. It made us so comfortable and confident to deal with such a difficult time fighting with cancer. Thank you so much, Dr. Baker!

My first appointment, they sent me to an old office no longer in service, then claimed they had no record of me (I was looking at their confirmation email on my phone as they told me this). When they finally booked me in, months later, I could only see a PA. On my follow-up with the doctor, she canceled 30 minutes before and I couldn't get in for two more months. I just hung up with someone in billing about an incorrect bill (I promise I wasn't rude or mad at her) and felt compelled to genuinely ask her, "Are you mad at me? What's going on?", because of the way she was speaking to me. They're frustrating, unprofessional, and honestly just pretty bad at their jobs.

No matter how many times I had health insurance changes, I always made sure I would be able to see Dr. Kravitz. I've had other doctors in other cities, but no one came close to Dr. Kravitz's knowledge (26+ years of practice), professional demeanor, and personability. He is knowledgeable on so many topics, and I know I'm able to ask him anything. And you know what? He listens. It's that simple. He sets your chart down, he looks at you, and he listens. Some doctors are just so harried they don't take the time to really let you explain what's happening or how you feel. It really does make the difference. We forget how important it is for a doctor to relate to his patients. I've seen doctors who have been cold, indifferent, uninterested in anything except performing an examination or treating whatever was wrong at the time. Sure, that's fine, but it's the bare minimum; it doesn't set me at ease. When I'm sick, and I'm concerned, Dr. Kravitz demonstrates a level of empathy I've yet to see in another doctor. It also helps he has a sense of humor! Even if he does not accept my insurance, I would only want to have him as my primary care physician. He's known me for years, and knows my medical history better than anyone. I hope to stick with him as long as I can. If you are looking for a new doctor in the area, you will NOT be disappointed. Dr. Kravitz is the real deal, and one of the few people I still trust in the healthcare field. A real winner!
