Well, it's been going on 17 years since I saw this absolutely horrible person. I'm still haunted by her behavior during my 3 visits. PLEASE PLEASE read these reviews....they are all telling the absolute truth. I cannot believe she is still practicing! I've reported her to the medical board and a few other places. Wow. I left a voicemail because that's the only way you can make an appointment. A week later, on Sunday at 9pm, I finally get a call back from Linda. I took the call because I assumed it would be a short one just to confirm date and times. Instead, Linda started asking questions and then launching into rambled stories about why she does x, y, and z. Just say that's procedure, I don't need anecdotes as I'm putting my son to bed. She honestly sounded drunk, she spouted requirements for certain medications that cost money (I am paying out of pocket) and I've never heard about. Needless to say I didn't make an appointment after about 15-20 minutes of her talking about nothing. Just very awful, rude, lazy, habitually late and extremely unprofessional human being. She is ALWAYS fxked up on her own prescriptions or Idk what tf she is taking but she is just bad news. I am begging you if you truly want progress, or to feel better in general, DO NOT waste your time, money or effort with this mistake of a human. She will judge you and probably misunderstand/misdiagnose you. She will severely disappoint you. She doesnt care to help you, she only wants your money. If I could give zero stars, I would. When I first came to Dr. Taylor, she was very helpful. I just needed prescriptions called in and she conveniently does after hours and weekend appointments. I went to her twice, thought she was definitely aloof and strange, but got my prescriptions filled and went on my way. Fast forward to last week. After calling her almost daily for A WEEK for a refill, she finally called me back at 9pm on a Friday night asking if I could come in...I said I couldn't (I mean, what?) and she said I could come in on Saturday at 6:30PM. She told me on the phone that I might have to wait (that's fine), but when I actually got there, she TOLD ME TO GO HOME AND SHE WOULD CALL ME. What? What is the point of making an appointment? She wouldn't let me sit in the waiting room. She wanted me to sit in my car in the rain in an abandoned dark parking lot. She then tried to tell me that it wasn't "fair" to her other patients--referring to me getting to see my "doctor" at the agreed upon SCHEDULED time. I literally laughed in her face and said forget it I am never coming back. She needs to have her medical license revoked. DO. NOT. SEEK. HELP. WITH. THIS. WOMAN. read more

This woman only wants your money. After paying her over $600 in the course of a month, she wanted $300 to call my insurance and $75 to call in a rx when I had literally seen her earlier in the day and I just needed to see which drug I could get covered. I offered to come pick up a written rx and she said that would also cost $75. I've been a mental health patient for 11 years and I have never encountered a scam artist like this woman. She takes advantage of the long waiting lists to see legitimate doctors and bleeds you dry. I was new to Austin when I sought her out because I needed refills on my current meds that my wonderful psych back in Atlanta had helped me balance over the course of 4 years. She used photocopied worksheets to "diagnose" me. She didn't listen to me and couldn't answer my questions. I started bring my husband to appointments because I was in such disbelief. She had me quit a mood stabilizer COLD TURKEY because she refused to write a rx for it until we'd been meeting for at least 3 months. A medicine I was successfully stable on for over 3 years. Once I finally was able to get in to see my current PCP, I mentioned her name and the doctor winced. If you are a "good" yelper like me, you'll read the hidden reviews. I've worked for several small businesses and I know fake or pressured or solicited 5 star reviews when I see them. She may be a good friend but she has no place in practicing medicine and taking advantage of people in a state of vulnerability or crisis. read more

At first I thought she would be a great psychiatrist, a little weird but good. Her hours are flexible and she is near my work, but after three visits, I am appalled by how she's treated me. She made me come in twice in a week in order to get a refill on a Rx I've been taking without issue for 3.5 years. She misremembered many things said in previous sessions and misinterpreted important details as well. She was very unprofessional in calling after 9pm. I am a teacher and go to bed relatively early. When I did finally give in and go in for a second appt in one week just to get a refill, she treated me like I abuse my Rx and can't be trusted--with no prior incidents to raise any red flags . She made me feel terrible about myself. One session she told me I should be on medical leave because of my depression and stress levels at work, and then she spent a week exasperating my stress and depression by refusing to continue my medical treatment. This was not an issue of drug reliance as I am also in weekly therapy. This woman is strange and not in a good way. She needs a psychiatrist herself. She also needs to learn how to treat patients. I would definitely say stay away from her. She seems easy going and helpful at first, but then she turns greedy and antagonistic, demanding several unnecessary visits. If I could give 0 stars I would. This may be the worst $50.00 I have ever spent (and I am not one to blink an eye over $1,200.00 purse). I literally wanted to ask for my money back at the end of the session. I should have gotten the message that Dr. Taylor was not a stand up psychiatrist when the lady before me left her office crying hysterically stating to me that Dr. Taylor "was a quack" and I should "get myself a new therapist". I was referred to her by one of the most professional stand up psychiatrists in Austin. My psychiatrist wanted me to continue care with someone who accepted my health insurance for medication management. I have been on the same meds for years, nothing crazy..Xanax for sleep (bc I am magnesium deficient and 30mg of cymbalta a day). We spoke twice before the appointment and she knew exactly what I was on and who referred me to her and she then denied that in the session. She was also an hour late for the appointment and then told me she could not help me after she took my money. I should have read these reviews before I went in. She is obviously not all there and realized that I am a normal "sharp" person and that she wouldn't be able to "pull the wool over my eyes." She claims she went to Columbia but she is ancient and is obviously very heavily medicated herself and delusional. FYI "doc" marijuana is not legal in Texas yet. read more

Wow. This woman IS RUDE. I was a potential new patient. I called and left messages to see if she would accept my insurance. She called back and we played phone tag. She told me through a voicemail that she did accept my insurance but did not know the cost of my visit. Well, I called my insurance company and they told me that Linda Taylor did indeed accept my insurance but only SHE KNEW how much the cost of the visits would be. When I called yet again, to inquire about payments and costs, asking her to call back, she finally did. I answered the phone (this was about five minutes ago.) Me: "Hello?" Her: "Uh....hello...um, is this P---- I mean is this MONICA?" Me: "Yes..." Her: "Oh, hi! It's Dr. Taylor...." Then she proceeded to TALK OVER ME. She was not listening to me at all. I said....my insurance company won't tell me how much you cost, they said only you can tell me. She of course circumvented what I said and ignored it. It seemed to me, she wanted to get me in her office, regardless or not if she accepted my insurance, in order to charge me hundreds of dollars, at the moment I'd find out she didn't accept my insurance afterall. In other words, she's SHADY. She wants you in her office but will not tell you up front the costs of her consultation. She wants you to use her services then she will bill you an extraordinary amount...surprise! She also does not PHYSICALLY OR MENTALLY LISTEN TO YOU. She TALKED OVER ME ON THE PHONE and did not actually hear what I was cooly, calmly, and very coldly trying to say to her. Instead, she TALKED AT ME. Complete loon who appears to be on drugs. She also appears to be in complete failing mental health herself and has no business seeing patients. After three (3) hours watching her intermittently taking care of her personal business... she spent part of the time babbling, himming and hawing, and making no comprehensible sense. I was embarrassed and uncomfortable and couldn't figure out how to get out of there since I really hoped for some help. I tried to take a break and she sent me to the gas station to use a bathroom so she could write a prescription. When I got back she still hadn't done anything and just shuffled back and forth across the room. I nearly called for help for her. She finally sat down to do the prescription and set the tip of the pen on the pad for 10 minutes... no kidding, 10 Minutes. I saw Dr Taylor one evening (she works late) and I really liked her. She has a very calming and passive nature. She takes appts late in the day and evenings for those that work and have families. I had to sign up to even write this review. That should say a lot! My thoughts about this lady mirrors the majority of the reviews on here. I too had tried to get into many other Doctors without success. Linda called me back the same day. I could not believe it! She was able to get me in the very next day...I liked that she did evening appointments, but jeez now I wish I would have read the reviews on her before going. I was desperate to get in to see anybody. She did ask me to call my insurance company and specifically say to them that it was a "psychiatric evaluation" and to call her back and let her know my benefits. I did. I showed up @ her office on a Friday afternoon, and it just all goes down hill from there. This has been the worst 3 months of my life. I have never felt as low as I do now. She has had me on many types of medication, and has never "diagnosed" me with anything. The last visit I had with her, I took my husband along to get his opinion about her. She was an hour late, which is NOT unusual for her. He told me right then that it was time to find another doc. She has no bathroom available to her patients either. Be warned! She does not listen to anything you say, she mumbles, and always refers to her other clients or her own experiences. I think she has OCD in my opinion, as she is always locking doors, file cabinets, her closet, and her front door. It takes her 15 minutes or longer to even let you in, because she is locking up EVERYTHING in her office. I called around to other doctors this past week, and was shocked to learn that another doctor with great reviews, REFUSE to see any of her patients. When I asked them why, the lady said that the doctor told them not to because of unresolved past issues. What the hell does that mean. I think that says a lot about her, and I do believe that her license should be taken away. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend NO ONE goes to see this lady. She made me worse than I have ever been. I honestly think she needs help. She does not return phone calls either. I have left her 4 messages this week asking her what I need to do to get my records from her. She WILL not call me back. The most bizarre and unprofessional experience I've had with a healthcare provider, and I didn't even attend an appointment! Dr. Taylor will not answer her phone in a professional/identifying manner due to the "concerns what telemarketers would do with the information", and then went on a long rambling monologue unrelated to my appt/what I was needing. My main question was relating to my insurance and her fees, which she refused to answer and told me it was her policy to have patients verify their own insurance (this is NOT NORMAL) I made an appt over a week in advance, and had her call me several times asking for my member/group numbers over the phone (not normal either) I told her I would provide them at the appt, and if there was some problem I would pay her cash rate. She called me the day before my scheduled appt at 845pm wanting the info, and seemed to not recall our previous conversation. I told her I didn't have access to it at the moment and asked if an electronic copy/PDF was acceptable, and she could not give me a straight answer. Dr. Taylor then told me 'her gut' was saying I would not show up for my appt and she needed to reschedule it for another day. I told her this was not the case and I had planned my week and childcare around the appt and she wouldn't acknowledge me and became irritable and told me If 'I was serious about wanting an appt and needing my medications' I would have to provide her my credit card information immediately over the phone, while she recorded me, and make a verbal agreement allowing her to pre charge me. Obviously I said no and she went on a condescending and totally incorrect explanation about common medical billing practices, and then snapped that she would fit me in at 930pm the night of my scheduled appt, but she had "over 50 people waitlisted and begging for my scheduled time slot" I work in healthcare thankfully was aware enough to spot the red flags (and there are so many more that I didn't even address in this review!) after reading the other pt reviews I can see that she was defiantly wanting my insurance/card info so she could pull some nonsense and still have the ability to charge me. It's sickening to see a mental health professional operating in this manner- and I am so sad for the patients who sought care from her and were treated by this poor excuse for a Doctor! read more

Dr. Taylor is a great psychiatrist. I've been one of her patients for a very long time. She truly cares about her patients and, even though she sometimes runs late for appointments, everyone gets their full hour. It is important to remember that a psychiatrist is not necessarily a therapist. A psychiatrist is there to assess your situation and adjust/monitor meds accordingly. Her style is very conversational and it doesn't necessarily seem like she's performing her analysis of you, but she is. Dr. Taylor is very professional and will not hesitate to refer you to a Therapist or some other doctor if you have a particular health need. While she does use medication to help manage patient conditions, she is not a pill pusher. She will not give you particular meds just because you ask for them. She will only prescribe medication she feels is appropriate to the situation. I'm afraid the negative reviews may have been left by people who aren't sure what to expect from a psychiatrist. If she wasn't good at what she does, I'd not be doing nearly as well as I am today. Everybody is different and has a different personality. This is true for doctors and it is up to you, the patient, to find a doctor who matches your needs and personality type. Just because she may not be the best fit for you doesn't mean she's not a good physician. read more

I was in the process of changing providers, and when I saw the write-up on Dr. Taylor I felt like it would be a welcome change. I didn't even get into an appointment. She called me back after 3 days or so after I left a voicemail (which was the only way to make an appointment as there doesn't seem to be any office staff). I still save the voicemail to let people hear it when they don't believe me. It went on and on until my machine finally cut off, but in that time was essentially a conversation she was having with herself after having called me. I rarely if ever write reviews, but I can say with assurance now, please go somewhere else to be seen. read more

So I've read some of these reviews and feel compelled to provide my opinion on Dr. Taylor. People have to mesh with their doctor, it is a partnership, but evaluation of physicians is also subjective - what works for one person may not work for someone else. I can think of several college professors recommended to me as "great," although I thought the opposite was true once I was their student. And vice versa - one math professor I was told to avoid ended up being good (for me that is). I was a patient of Dr. Taylor's when I lived in Austin. For my part, I thought she was great. During my time in Texas, I was diagnosed with a seizure disorder, and she helped me more than the neurologists did. She spoke with my father (in another state) at length about my condition, answered all of his questions, and so on. At least in my experience, she is conservative when it comes to medication, but that's what I was looking for. For someone else, this may not be feasible. Also, she keeps analyst-type hours, as some other psychiatrists do; hence, she may communicate with you later in the day or evening. Again, for someone looking for a 9-5 doc, she may not be the best choice, but for me, this worked. In terms of payment for service, my case was unique in that I had no insurance at the time. More than one physician's office declined to see me, even though I was willing to self-pay. This is a whole other subject and I understand why it happened- a lot of times there are not price setpoints for services outside of insurance-based billing, etc etc. The point was, she agreed to see me without any guff when few others would, so I appreciated that. All things considered, she was a good psychiatrist for me. She may not be for someone else. read more

I was looking up Dr Taylor's phone number to check on an appointment time when I saw these reviews and felt like I needed to contribute as my experience with her appears to be vastly different from the others on here. After talking some with Dr. Taylor I think I've come to understand her a bit. She has a very valedictorian "by the book" mentality, and one of the most common complaints I've seen on here was about her requiring you to take tests. Sure enough she made me take some as well. At the time this was frustrating, however I am lucky enough to sister in PA school doing a rotation at a psych ward and she informed me these were the tests Drs are SUPPOSED to make you take to 100% ensure the medication you are taking is safe. I gave here a copy of my test results and she agreed with all of Dr Taylor's conclusions. Some Dr.s may feel comfortable prescribing medication without doing these tests, but Dr Taylor isnt one of those. Basically - if you are looking for someone to just give you drugs quickly - she is probably not the Dr. for you as she is going to require whatever tests are necessary to 100% clear you for a drug. The other major complain on here seems to be that you can expect to wait before seeing her. Dr Taylor definitely loves to talk to her patients, and I can tell that the reason why she is often running behind is because she loses track of time. She could definitely benefit from a secretary or some help to manage her time. Personally I don't really mind the wait since I feel like it is a decent trade off with her extremely flexible office hours, however i do think it is an area she could improve a bit (the only thing keeping her from being 5 stars). I also think she is a genuinely interesting person to talk to and enjoy her small talk. I think Dr Taylor is an extremely competent psychiatrist, that she genuinely wants to help, and might be the most "Austin" psychiatrist I've ever met. The absolute worst! I called to make an appointment as a new patient who had severe major depression. Dr. Taylor was nice enough to schedule me the same day. When I arrived she gave me paperwork just like any other standard first time visit. She asked that I wait in the car since her waiting room was closed and that she would call me in 10 minutes to come in for my appointment. I waited 45 minutes and nothing. Doctor may have early onset of alzheimer's, as she was unable to think clearly, recall information that was just given to her, and repeated herself dozens of times. She also tried to run a billing scam by holding patient longer than necessary. I wish I had looked at all of these horrible reviews before scheduling a appointment with DOC Linda Taylor. The only thing good was that I was able to be seen fast.(Although the first visit could of completely been avoided). I live in hays county, and I took off from my commissioned based sales job to drive all the way across town up north to see her, as soon as I got there, she was not there, I called her to find out that she was a few minutes away, 30 minutes later, I was seen, the first meeting just consisted upon her talking to my insurance provider to making sure I was covered for her services which I already told her that I was covered on top of finding her phone number off of my insurer website... It ended with her referring me to get some simple blood work done at my family doctor... All of this could of been avoided if she would of just told me what I needed to have done before continuing my prescribed medication I have been on for a while now. I had a bad taste in my mouth upon leaving because she seemed to not care about my time or any of my issues when I was just trying to move forward. From that point on, it seemed that she just concerned with her own pocket book, and wanted to do her best to set as many meetings as she can so she can make her own check, lacking empathy for her clients own time. The very next day I got all the blood work done, and my doctor confirmed that they had faxed all the necessarily documents that she needed for the follow up meeting.... I called her that Monday, left a message, then again on Tuesday, then on Wednesday, again on Thursday, and in the morning on Friday..... Not only did it take a week to return my calls after calling numerous times a day, or even sending me a e mail apologizing for blowing me off for a week, or a text, or a vm, or something, after her finally calling me back a week later, even though she had all the documentation, she insisted upon setting up a time for next week because "she asked me how I doing," and I responded by saying, "im doing great apart from fighting some minor allergies." and refused to see me that day because "she didnt want to get sick." I then explained the complications I have been having by not having my medication and explained her politely the concerns that I was having about our prior meetings and her lack of concerning my phone calls. She then gave no sort of apology, and just told me to go see another doctor.... I was in no way argumentative, I was just doing my best to give her constructive criticism so that she could better help me and others out in the future. Then phone call then ended by her hanging up on me in the middle of me talking. I have no idea how someone with this lack of empathy is allowed to be a psychiatrist OF ALL THINGS.... It stuns me that she even has any clients... I am a very stable minded person and have been in sales and customer service sense I graduated high school, and I know the importance of being able to benefit others needs before yourself, and going above and beyond to show everyone who is spending money with you that they are getting a great experience.... This is exactly what you WILL NOT get by visiting this doctor. For someone who's entire well being directly involves with problem solving, that is the number one skill set that she does not have. I don't know how long she has been in business, but I am sure it wont be for to much longer. I am sure she is a nice lady at heart, she just needs to find a different career path. Do not seek help from this so called Dr. She needs help herself . You will wait for at least 1 hour on a good day in the waiting room if she lets you in. She is weird and rambles about things that don't have anything to do do with you. It is a very odd experience. She keeps you waiting while she faxes things and runs around in circles locking things. Do not ask to use a rest room as she will tell you to go down the street to Walgreen's or Randell's. Crazy after she makes you wait so long just for nothing. She talks on and on repeating herself and does not seem to recall any past sessions or any recall of information given. I have not actually seen this dr. but from our phone interactions my gut tells me to stay away. She seems to have no knowledge of insurance whatsoever. had me call my insurance company to ask them what she is allowed to charge. yeah, I know - made no sense to me either. Said her rate was $350 - seems a bit much to me! Also left me a message at 9:30pm on a Saturday regarding setting up a new appt. that is pretty unprofessional in my book. All of the other reviews are spot on-- Linda Taylor is a con artist, and I honestly believe she needs to have her medical license revoked (and I do not say this lightly). 1st visit: I already had a medical referral to see a psychiatrist. She wrote up orders for a full blood test and I left after maybe 5 minutes. I was charged a co-pay and my insurance was billed. 2nd visit: She told me my blood work came back abnormal, and said she couldn't treat me unless I had normal readouts in EVERY test (just stop and think about this- if you have high cholesterol, high/ low blood sugar, an over/ under active thyroid, or WHATEVER, then this disqualifies you from her "treatment"). She suggested I have another full blood test run. I was there for about 10 minutes, was charged a co-pay, and my insurance was billed. 3rd visit: She called me to schedule the appointment, and over the phone I asked if my blood work was okay. She replied that this was something we would have to discuss in her office. I show up, and she again tells me that it came back abnormal, and so she can't provide treatment. Her "alternative" was that I start coming in for weekly counseling sessions with her, at $300+ per session. Again, 10 minute visit, charged a co-pay, insurance billed. After 3 visits over the course of a MONTH I left without receiving any treatment, was charged 3 co-pays (totaling over $100), and my insurance was billed 3 times. If you are seeking psychiatric help, chances are you are going through some type of traumatic event. Do you really want to wait a MONTH just to be told that you have to go somewhere else?!?!?! Plus, my insurance allowed me a yearly limit on mental health visits, and so 3 were wasted at her office! As a final note, my long-time primary care physician has found NOTHING wrong with my blood work. This woman is a true con artist. read more

I should have looked at yelp before visiting this doctor. The biggest problem: I just looked at my bank statement and she has charged me a $215 bill. There was no notice, no phone call from her, no printed bill, no discussion of what she was charging me for- nothing. Just a charge to my account. I have called her about it, but she has not called me back. I saw her one time, about two weeks ago. She was 15 minutes late for my appointment. When the appointment started, she spent the first 45 minutes contacting my insurance agency via speakerphone to make sure they would pay her and telling me how important it is for her to get paid, how insurance companies don't pay on time, etc. She made me sign a receipt saying I would pay for any "miscellaneous expenses" that the insurance company doesn't cover. I did not want to sign that and protested, but she stared at me for a long time and kept repeating that I had to sign it until I finally gave in. She also insisted that I pay the $25 copay before we started anything. After that ordeal, she finally asked me why I was visiting her. I have been getting daily headaches for over two months now, and my mom, who is a nurse, and a doctor who I visited both said the headaches were due to stress from work (I'm a first year special education teacher = high stress). I told her that I wanted to find some way of getting rid of the headaches without taking any "happy pills". I don't think she listened to a word I said. She wrote me a prescription for happy pills and proceeded to hypothesize aloud about what could be the cause of my headaches. When I insisted they were stress headaches, she wrote down some names of neurologists for me to go visit. She did not ask me about my job, my upcoming wedding, the fact that I'm a first year young professional or anything that could be causing me stress. I had a headache by the time I left her office. Update: She returned the $215 that she charged me. It was charged to me due to a misunderstanding and a pretty big assumption on her part. i called her office and left a message. Then i read all the crazy online reviews. When she called me back to set up the appointment I let the call go to voicemail. She called again on a Saturday night after 9pm - and I told her that we had made an appointment elsewhere. Based on the limited interaction I had with her/her voicemail i'd say keep looking too. read more

TERRIBLE. the WORST. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. These reviews are spot on. I had a single meeting with her. Kept me waiting for 30 minutes before I even got into her personal office, and then another 20 rambling about not being able to sleep and walmart etc etc, and her running my debit card. I tried being polite and humoring the conversation. I was 50 minutes into my appointment before we started talking about why I was there as a new patient. She had to google what Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) was. While I was there. She supposedly specializes in PTSD. This is not a new concept, being AT LEAST 23 years old. She then asks my medical history etc, totally normal. Except she refuses to accept that i have no medical problems other than Asthma (allergy type). She kept asking (and i answered consistently) if I had an EKG (no? I don't have any heart problems/any family history/personal history/ no reason to), if I had my thyroid tested (yes. literally every year. because i'm fat, every doctor everywhere wants to test it. it's working perfectly fine. I have blood work done EVERY year), telling me I NEEDED to get my blood pressure tested (I have ALWAYS had perfect BP, and no family history of High BP). Tried to tell my Vyvanse could "literally give me a heart attack". I have a perfectly healthy heart, and am 22 years old. I go to the gym, play sports, and repeatedly told her I had no problems with my heart. She then refused to write my prescription for my vyvanse, mumbling something about my heart and vyvanse and malpractice. She had just been trying to push sleeping pills and anti-depressants on me (After i was vocal about NOT wanting sleeping medication). I am amazed at her inconsistency. After 1 hr and 15 minutes (50 of which were not substantial) I left and DID NOT reschedule. And I will not. I'm personally amazed and offended this woman still has a license to practice medicine. read more

I hate to beat a dead horse. You can read the other reviews of Dr. Taylor and get an idea of what you're working with. I was new to the Austin area and had one hell of a time trying to find a psychiatrist to help me manage a medication that has reliably worked for me for 5 years prior to my move to Austin. After going through a list of about 10 "in-network" psychiatrists, the answers I kept getting were -Not seeing new patients -Doctor is deceased (!?) -No longer accepting insurance So I looked outside the box and found Dr. Taylor. Upon an initial meeting, I realized she would not be a doctor I would have any type of therapeutic meetings with based on our initial interactions. I can't speak to her competence as a doctor, since we kept on the same course of meds without any change, but I do think she needs some outside help in running her office. Ultimately I stopped seeing her when my PCP offered to fill my meds with an exam every 6 months as opposed to me seeing Dr. Taylor monthly to get refills. At the end of the day, I'm disappointed in her wait times, I'd feel better about meeting her monthly to continue getting my Rx if I were newer to the medication or initially as a new patient (I went to her monthly for over a year to continue getting my Rx), and I reaped no therapeutic gains from our visits. My money is much better spent on getting my Rx from my PCP and seeing a therapist who I connect with. Austin has a severe psychiatrist shortage, y'all. I'm sorry to say that this doctor is not a viable substitute. read more

I luckily DID NOT attend a session with Dr. Taylor. I am writing this review based entirely off the passive-aggressive and unwelcoming voicemail that you reach when dialing her office number (512) 343-8505. I was completely flabbergasted at the dismissive and passive aggressive tone and contents of her voicemail "filtering" system. I thought maybe I was simply unfamiliar with the psychiatry process of registering new patients, but after reading these reviews it seems my gut instinct was right about this person. Glad that all my calls/voicemails went unanswered. read more

Two words: STRANGE BIRD. I did not enjoy my experience with Dr. Taylor, but it was not as horrible as I expected. CONs: I felt like she didn't listen to what was really going on with me. As soon as I said I had trouble sleeping, she turned off her ears. She prescribed me a medicine in the same class of other meds I was already taking and told her didn't work too well on me. ALSO, she asked ME what she supposed to charge while holding my insurance card in her hand. I don't know what you charge - you're the doctor! Sh keeps her door locked (understandably), but she has no sign on the outside of her door. I rang the doorbell. She saw me, waved and just went back to what she was doing, making me wait outside until she was ready to let me in. PROs: Her office smelled nice. Just don't go see her. read more

Just don't. Seriously, seek help elsewhere. Run away as fast as you can. My review is exactly as bad as all the others on here.

Here to add to the list of reviews. I even read them before I went to see Dr. Taylor, and I still decided to give her a chance. Big mistake. It took an insane amount of back and forth to even get an appointment with her. I had to call numerous times and leave a message, and would usually miss the return phone call because it came from a different number or blocked number. I finally managed to make an appointment with her. I was trying to remain optimistic. My biggest reason for wanting to see Dr. Taylor was because I wanted someone who listens before prescribing medication. I can firmly say that she doesn't listen. You WILL sit and wait for your appointment time. Anywhere from 20-40 minutes past when you are supposed to see her. You will get half hearted apologies. You will waste your time and money seeing her. And you won't be any closer to the help you genuinely need. What finally sent me over the edge was I tried to reschedule my appointment. Of course I got voicemail and didn't talk to anyone. They called me and left a message to call back and reschedule. Since I was already over playing phone tag I decided to just leave it be. When I went on the scheduled day and time, I was told that my appointment was canceled, because I left the message saying I wanted to re-schedule. Please please please do yourself a favor and find someone else to go to. read more

This person has no right being a health care provider. If I could give zero stars I would. Let me start by saying this is concerning my daughter who recently lost her baby. She desperately needed someone to talk to. She left 3 messages over a 2 week time before this woman felt she needed to return my daughter's call. My daughter chose her from her health plan and liked what she focused on. After finally getting an 8 PM appointment, she found out not only was she still in counsel with someone, but there was another person waiting to get in ahead of my daughter's appointment! Seeing how she really needed to talk to someone, she waited in her car and caught up on some work. There is no waiting room, by the way. At 9:45 PM, my daughter calls me and says she's waited enough and went home. At 12:10 AM, guess who calls??? WHY ON EARTH DID SHE THINK IT WAS OKAY TO CALL THAT LATE???? Did she actually think my daughter was still out in the car waiting? This woman should not be seeing people, period! She needs to have her license revoked. God forbid if my daughter was suicidal. Maybe a big law suit is what she needs. DO NOT USE THIS PERSON. You would get quicker help and probably more sound advice from a bartender. read more

I began seeing Dr. Taylor back in 2010. After a big loss in my life, I told her I was feeling more depressed than usual and she upped my pill dosage to twice of what it was. After awhile on this dosage I began to become dangerously delusional and I would also experience hallucinations. I became dangerous to myself and others. I spent a night in jail because the police didn't know what to do with me. Then I was taken to Seton Medical to be involuntarily committed (to the "bad" side of the ward) for a month. When the hospital called Dr. Taylor she simply told them that I am no longer a patient of hers and she refused to say or do anything on my behalf. I went through the most traumatic event of my life because of her. A policeman even put a gun to the back of my head on my doorstep because I was so out of my mind. Yes, Dr. Linda Taylor is a strange lady, but the reason you should not see her is about your own personal safety. Her license should not only be revoked, but she should also serve jail time for nearly killing me and making me go through a devastating, traumatic experience that should have never happened. The fallout of the incident still affects me today. Please do not give this woman an excuse to hurt you. read more

Long wait times. Does not follow up on prescription requests from pharmacy. She should not be licensed to practice. But if your desperate and don't have a better option you will be able to get what you need. It may take multiple appointments where the minimum wait time has been over an hour. You will doubt your sanity by the end of the appointment if for no other reason than you didn't just walk out and find another provider. read more
