After contacting and talking to so many businesses and locksmiths around NYC I was about to give up on my hopes of having a fire escape window gate installed in my apartment. Literally 99% of all businesses were either trying to scam me or incredibly shady with their practices. I was very lucky to have found ASAP and was able to talk to Jonathan who was incredibly helpful, upfront, accommodating, and transparent in his services. The service was very fast and of excellent quality. Additionally, I was always kept informed of the status of my order, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, it was an incredibly positive and satisfying experience. I highly recommend this merchant to anyone. If you are in of need any locksmith/window gate/or other related type of service, DO yourself a favor and contact ASAP. They will work with you, and most importantly, they work with a transparent ethic, as opposed to 99% of all other merchants of this kind in the city who are incredibly shady an have a large amount of unethical business practices. read more

Scammers ! I would give 0 stars if possible, this company is just scamming. They charged me over $1400 to fix my lock. The tech drilled a hole in my lock and charged me ~$700 for a lock that costs $60 at Home Depot. My landlord thinks I am scamming him because these guys charged so much. I have tried multiple times to contact the company and none of their employees have given me any type of answer. I wish I had climbed out my 5th floor window instead of calling this company read more

this place will charge you an obscene amount of money to do a half assed job. I got totally ripped off. $200 cash to fix a lock. The guy tightened screws for 30 seconds the next day my lock was spinning $550 to fix my door. He ripped up the floor and told me to hire a contractor. Do Not use this locksmith unless you have money to burn. read more

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! THIS BUSINESS IS A SCAM! THIS IS A SCAM! Unless you want to pay $1500 for a $60 Home Depot lock, DO NOT PATRONISE THIS BUSINESS!!!! They are clearly scammers preying upon people in emergency circumstances. We got INSANELY gauged for a routine lock change and they refuse to take any ownership. They took advantage of us in an emergency and just assumed someone else would reimburse us so they felt like they could charge whatever they wanted. DO NOT GIVE THEM A CENT THEY ARE GOING TO SCAM YOU!!! read more

I left my keys in the apartment and I called this company, extremely overpriced. I paid 200 for the individual to add a piece of plastic to the side of the door to open the door. I understand and they have to take out the doors lock. read more

Do NOT call them ! They will likely come fix your situation but rates are not disclosed, they demand Zelle payments to personal service tech, and do not provide receipt. My young daughter became locked in her apartment due to a faulty latch and the male tech drilled out the lock, damaging the door, did not replace it and told her they didn't take credit cards and had her Zelle $517 to "Nick". All calls to the establishment have gone unreturned. read more

0 stars if I could. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! They are complete scammers!!! Wasted over an hour with them and they didn't even get the service done. They are scammers, sketch, and completely unprofessional!! DO NOT USE THEM read more

Extremely over priced. Complete scam. Do not use their services. charged us $1.3k for a lock if I had thought hard enough about and used my tools I could've done for maybe $100. Ridiculous. read more

I asked a kind stranger on the street to call a locksmith for me since my phone was locked inside my house and how I wish they had called ANYONE ELSE. These people are total SCAMMERS and will charge you $500+ for a 5-minute job and a $50 part. The locksmith began drilling into my door immediately after I asked him for the price and the ridiculous amount he quoted was not even the full price of the job. They ask to be paid in cash but still charge tax (he just wrote down a number for 'tax' which was not a percentage of the charge- very suspicious). Furthermore, I have called this business over 30 times to try to speak with someone regarding the charges since they caught me at a stressful moment and told me to call the business if I wanted to discuss the price. THE LINE IS ALWAYS BUSY! YOU WILL NEVER GET A HOLD OF ANYONE AFTER THEY DEFRAUD YOU. read more

This was not an emergency service. I scheduled it two weeks in advance, and they did not have what I ordered, so they offered to give me a deadbolt instead, explaining that it would not be as good as what I originally wanted. The guy would not give me the price, just saying do not worry, it is only a deadbolt. He broke part of my door, used cardboard to level the lock so it looks like a shitty job, and then charged me $811!! I wish I could rate them zero stars. Eight hundred fucking dollars for the most unprofessional looking job in the world. Even if I paint the cardboard, it will look ridiculous, and now I need to figure out how to fix the door so my building does not charge me for the damage. read more

I highly recommend Jonathan! One of the best services I received. Jonathan was very nice and professional. He fixed our door/lock after we tried 3 different people and they all failed! He was very nice about the price and easy to communicate with! read more

Jonathan said he'd get to our house within 30-40 minutes, and in 30 minutes he arrived. Not only did he do the job quickly and efficiently, but he was easy to talk to and work with. We were only into 10 minutes of talking to him and he was nice enough to give us a huge discount for our locks (we originally only wanted 1 high security lock, but ended up getting 2 high security locks for the price of $360). Originally, the cost would have been $450, and he also cut the tax given that we paid in cash. We liked him so much that we asked him to come back the next day to do the locks to our back door. Overall, Jonathan was prompt, quick with the job and friendly. I didn't feel skeptical or creeped out at ALL as many may feel with locksmiths. He was great and I HIGHLY recommend!!! read more

Its 9 pm, got locked out of my apartment, which sucks especially when your late for a flight! Jonathan was at my apartment literally 20 minutes later, another 10 and we were inside!! The price was very reasonable. All and all got to the airport on time. Thanks ASAP locksmith, you are a life saver!! read more

These guys were awesome. I was moving into a new apartment and needed a security gate on the fire escape window. They came out to measure it within the hour and we're back to install it a few days later! The whole process was stress free, Jonathan was polite and pleasant to work with. The gate itself is great and easy to operate, not the jail cell window I thought it would be! Thanks ASAP locksmith, will definitely use these guys again! read more

This review is long overdue, but I just feel like I had a different experience than everyone else on Yelp. This was for an electronic lock installation on 10/17. Jonathan was late: he gave me a two-hour time frame window of 10AM-12PM, he called me at 12PM and came at 1:15PM. Because of his tardiness, I had to almost cancel an important lunch meeting. He also did not apologize whatsoever. This was not a huge issue, but it gets better... He RUINED my walls: when he drilled to install the lock, he was obviously careless and drilled a huge hole on the side of my doorframe. He then went into commenting how my walls were "weird" instead of fixing the problem and saying it was his fault. In addition, he showed me his installation without trying to fill in the giant hole and only offered to fix it when I pointed out the huge hole. He said the "best" he could do was fill it in with some white rubber wall tack, which he again, did carelessly and got the tack on other parts of my wall. He tried to clean it off with a wet kitchen towel, which he did with too much force and ended up scrubbing off parts of my wall paint. When I pointed this out, he refused to acknowledge that he did it and said that the spot on the wall paint has been there the whole time. I then pulled out images of his progress for the whole time, which he reacted to in surprise and finally acknowledge that he scrubbed off my wall paint. He then relented to adding more tack onto the spot. Maybe he had a bad day or something, but this was far from the 5-star experience other Yelpers are experiencing on here. You've been warned. read more

Jonathan came out himself on a Friday afternoon. Great guy, great service. Was prompt in getting back to me and straightforward in his responses. Nobody wants to have to use a locksmith too too often but if I do find myself needing to, I def would use ASAP again. Thanks Jonathan! read more

Fantastic service. Fast, professional and reassuring from the moment they answered the phone until the minute we stepped into our apartment. He wasn't even phased by the ticket he got for parking illegally in front of our apartment. "Part of the job" he said. The price seemed very reasonable and our tech was competent and courteous. Did a great job and would easily recommend. He was efficient and was clear on pricing etc.

Jonathan responded to my request for quotation via Yelp in about minute and 90 minutes later he was redoing all the locks in my apartment. Keying alike the front and back doors was no problem for him. He's a very skilled locksmith - I was very impressed with the quality of his work. He even rehabilitated the old mortises to run quite smoothly and replaced worn doorknobs rather than pushing me to buy a new unit. He's not cheap but you get what you pay for and Jonathan is a real professional (he's also the owner of the company). He will definitely be my go-to guy for anything lock related in the future. read more

Jonathan was wonderful! After my experience with him, I tell people that I found the only gentlemanly locksmith in the world AND at 1 am on Friday night in the East Village. I'd just gotten back from London and realized the keys were in the hotel room...no getting them back. I called a few places and got some very sketchy responses. Jonathan came quickly and charged a totally reasonable rate, especially at that hour. Great guy, great service. Highly recommend Jonathan and his business. read more

Jonathan is very professional. Came on time, worked quickly and cleaned up when he was done. Would highly recommend.

ITS IN THE NAME! I realized I couldn't find my key 30 minutes before I had to leave for the airport to catch a flight at 4pm on a Friday. My wife and kid are out of town and if I left the the apt open the whole weekend for them to come home to an OPEN door she would kill me! I called ASAP and they were at my door in 20 minutes w new locks and 2 new keys 5 minutes late. I was in the Uber and off to JFK like nothing even happened. Along w saving my marriage, the service was friendly. If you have any locksmith needs in the neighborhood they are ABSOLUTELY the folks to call. read more

HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this amazing and quick service. Jonathan responded at 10 pm the night before to a quote through yelp. Nicest guy in the world. Smart, good at his job, went the extra mile, did all kinds of stuff to straighten my door out so it closed right and the lock fit. He was on time, and I can't recommend him enough. I put a second lock on the door and he explained prices to me and levels of lock security before we started. Gave me a price up front before we started. No surprises. I'm someone who only leaves reviews when I'm truly satisfied. Would call him again in a heartbeat. read more
