I asked a kind stranger on the street to call a locksmith for me since my phone was locked inside my house and how I wish they had called ANYONE ELSE. These people are total SCAMMERS and will charge you $500+ for a 5-minute job and a $50 part. The locksmith began drilling into my door immediately after I asked him for the price and the ridiculous amount he quoted was not even the full price of the job. They ask to be paid in cash but still charge tax (he just wrote down a number for 'tax' which was not a percentage of the charge- very suspicious). Furthermore, I have called this business over 30 times to try to speak with someone regarding the charges since they caught me at a stressful moment and told me to call the business if I wanted to discuss the price. I scheduled it two weeks in advance, and they did not have what I ordered, so they offered to give me a deadbolt instead, explaining that it would not be as good as what I originally wanted. The guy would not give me the price, just saying do not worry, it is only a deadbolt. He broke part of my door, used cardboard to level the lock so it looks like a shitty job, and then charged me $811!! I wish I could rate them zero stars. Eight hundred fucking dollars for the most unprofessional looking job in the world. Jonathan said he'd get to our house within 30-40 minutes, and in 30 minutes he arrived. Not only did he do the job quickly and efficiently, but he was easy to talk to and work with. We were only into 10 minutes of talking to him and he was nice enough to give us a huge discount for our locks (we originally only wanted 1 high security lock, but ended up getting 2 high security locks for the price of $360). Originally, the cost would have been $450, and he also cut the tax given that we paid in cash. We liked him so much that we asked him to come back the next day to do the locks to our back door. This review is long overdue, but I just feel like I had a different experience than everyone else on Yelp. This was for an electronic lock installation on 10/17. Jonathan was late: he gave me a two-hour time frame window of 10AM-12PM, he called me at 12PM and came at 1:15PM. Because of his tardiness, I had to almost cancel an important lunch meeting. He also did not apologize whatsoever. This was not a huge issue, but it gets better... He RUINED my walls: when he drilled to install the lock, he was obviously careless and drilled a huge hole on the side of my doorframe. He then went into commenting how my walls were "weird" instead of fixing the problem and saying it was his fault. In addition, he showed me his installation without trying to fill in the giant hole and only offered to fix it when I pointed out the huge hole. He said the "best" he could do was fill it in with some white rubber wall tack, which he again, did carelessly and got the tack on other parts of my wall. He tried to clean it off with a wet kitchen towel, which he did with too much force and ended up scrubbing off parts of my wall paint. When I pointed this out, he refused to acknowledge that he did it and said that the spot on the wall paint has been there the whole time. I then pulled out images of his progress for the whole time, which he reacted to in surprise and finally acknowledge that he scrubbed off my wall paint. He then relented to adding more tack onto the spot. Maybe he had a bad day or something, but this was far from the 5-star experience other Yelpers are experiencing on here. Keying alike the front and back doors was no problem for him. He's a very skilled locksmith - I was very impressed with the quality of his work.
