I'd like to give ASAP five stars because they are by far the best, most reliable, and courteous cab company in the Ithaca area. I've had horrible experiences with both Collegetown Cab and Cayuga dispatch. Four times (FOUR!) I've called Cayuga dispatch to take me to the airport--sometimes calling ten hours in advance--and they've either never shown up or shown up EXTREMELY late. If I hadn't hopped into another passing cab, I would have missed my flight every single time I relied on them. Horrible. Collegetown Cab, while better, has never picked up their phone for me when I called. And I've tried many times. Getting a cab with ASAP is so easy. The dispatcher is polite and friendly and never gets my info wrong. The cabs are always 5 minutes early, waiting in the right spot, and the drivers are pleasant. For this, I gladly say that they've earned my loyalty when I need a cab. They are also slightly cheaper than the other cab companies and will give you slack on luggage fees. I do knock off one star because their taxis are in disrepair. They're beat-up old vans with dented fenders and doors that stick and are hard to open. The insides are clean but they're just really old, clunky cars. Once, the engine even stalled a few times before starting, which made me nervous. But other than that, they are definitely the best cab company in Ithaca. Thank you ASAP for being a godsend. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. They stole AirPods from my son's friend that we bought for her. They originally said they had them and would mail them to us, then they conveniently wouldn't mail them, and now that police are involved they don't have them. read more

terrible cab. they switch dates and times without telling us and sometimes just don't show up. extremely old website with not great customer service. the drivers smoke, complain with details about other customers, as well as have no boundaries. they go on and on about their life and even how their parents died etc. I do not feel safe as they've asked me to hold stuff or help them take off their sweater and made comments about my appearance making me feel uncomfortable. not happy, everything is a mess their and continue to be messy with important details. very negative experience read more

Honestly the drivers were super nice but they pulled shady stuff. We booked them at least a month out for a drop off and pick up. Then last minute literally the night before told us that they had to stay the whole day. So our trip value was three times the original quote and then they had to take use to atm to get cash since they only take cash which they told us when they picked us up! If I could give this business a negative rating, I would. I called at 7:30am to schedule a pick up for 9:30. The man who answered the phone confirmed he had a driver available and would pick me up by 9:15am. I gave him my address and we hung up. I called back about 5 minutes later to give him an alternative cell phone number but he did not pick up. Fast forward to 9:15, he does not show up. We start calling and calling and calling. He nor anyone else never picks up. I don't understand how someone could do something like this? What a terrible business person. Once it was 9:45, I called Total Transportation who was able to take the reservation and collected our fare. Don't use this company especially if you are trying to be somewhere by a specific time! I needed a cab and was skeptical about this company due to previous ratings, but decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did. The evening they were supposed to arrive, they couldn't find me and thus I ended up getting a ride from a friend. I was more than just a little irritated. The next day I needed a cab again and called A.S.A.P. again. Everyone deserves a second chance... The dispatcher who answered the phone remembered me and apologized up & down for missing me the night before. He offered to give me a free ride this round to make up for it. Everyone makes mistakes but this customer service was outstanding. The driver that picked me up was chatty and pleasant. He was also very apologetic, though he really didn't have anything to do with the situation the previous night. People make mistakes and you can't please all of the people all of the time. I wanted to commend ASAP Cab Company for their superb customer service and let them know I will be calling again. Horrible company! Completely ruined my daughter's birthday celebration! They were scheduled for a pickup at noon an Saturday 6/15/19 of 12 of us. No show! Even though they had been in touch as recently as the night before to confirm. On Saturday we waited and reached out to company and driver. No answer, no call back. ORIGINAL: 5 stars. Very polite driver, no nonsense business, great pricing! I found ASAP already waiting at the airport and gave them a shot, would do again! (I don't understand the negative reviews) Compared to the other cab companies, this company is MUCH BETTER - it's safer (a different company had me scared I would die in a crash), non-sketchy (trust me - this is important late at night), and just overall more upfront about their pricing and company story. Holy Crap! Ithaca needs Uber! I just moved here and heard all the cab companies were pretty bad so went with the one with the best reviews. Called dispatcher at 7:30AM for 9:15AM flight hoping they could pick me up by 8:00. Cab showed up at 8:30. Missed flight. Super pissed. In hindsight, should have booked the day before, but then they shouldn't have told me "no problem" when I called the morning of. I am all for supporting a new start up, but having just left one of the scariest cab rides I have ever taken, I can not recommend this company. My driver was over tired and weaving all over the highway. Dispatch was late on a timed call that was ordered 24 hours in advance, and confirmed twice. GREAT. I think Ithaca had only one cab company before ASAP. Ithaca dispatch/university taxi/IDI courier/Cayuga tax/ithaca taxi are all the same company; they all have the same website and business address. And they'd charge ridiculously high prices ($30 PER PERSON to get to the airport with 2 people in the cab). I paid $17 to get to the airport ($15 flat fee, $2 luggage charge, tip not incl) with ASAP and I was the only passenger. I think they let you share rates to the airport too instead of each individual being charged separately for the cab ride. The only negative is that they're a small fleet since they're so new. read more

I have to say, for being called A.S.A.P. Cab Company, A.S.A.P is not very fast. Over the summer I have dabbled with a few cab companies. I think I may have called just about every cab company in the area. With each call I always look for the fastest and the cheapest option. A.S.A.P is always the cheapest but they take forever and they are rarely on time. Whenever they give you a time I would add 20 to 30 more minutes to it. So I wouldn't call them unless I was not in a rush. I would also expect to pay more after I got in the cab. When you call them they will give you one price but the driver always charges more after you got in the cab. Double check how much it will be BEFORE you get in the cab. For a faster option I would call CollegeTown Cab. They are a little more expensive and they are a few minutes late sometimes but they are faster then A.S.A.P. But they are not perfect. They have a lot of new drivers who don't really know the campus a lot but they are nice. So the choice is really up to you in the end. read more

This cab service is very prompt and professional. They are always there when you book them and courteous as well. My son books them every time he needs to go to Rochester or Syracuse airport to come home to California. He used another cab company before this company existed. He said that other company was rude and never on time. We have yet to have a problem with ASAP and have been using them ever since the car service we used before went out of business. I had an important medical appointmentthat i missed because this company showed up 1 hr and 10 minutes late. They called and confirmed at 11 am for a 1 pm pick up. At 1:25 i calked and was told 5 to 10 minutes. 35 minutes later and 20 minutes late for my appointment, the driver showed up and blamed his boss. I spoke to the boss who was unapologetic, and rude. I scheduled a cab for 4:45 am from hotel to Elmira airport, a 5 min drive. I started calling dispatch at 4:50 when the cab did not show. Dispatch said she would call right back. No call back so 5 min later I called her back and she said he should be pulling up. 5 min later no answer at dispatch and voicemail box full. He finally showed up and I had my bag in the trunk before he could get out of the car. Car reeked of smoke. He drove me 5 min at the charge of $13. I set up a ride to the airport scheduled for 3:45 a.m. on Dec. 22nd five days in advance. I even called back three days in advance to confirm, because they didn't call me back to confirm as they said they would. I was assured that my ride would be there. The driver did not show up. When I called it went straight to a full mailbox. I called Jan. 2 to complain & the man who answered said that he didn't know why I wasn't picked up & that he had seen my listing. He wanted to give the driver a chance to explain. I was happy to let him check with him, but he wanted ME to call him back later that day to find out why the guy didn't show up. I said that I thought he should call me back to explain. He said he would probably forget because he was too busy! I said that I was busy too and I didn't appreciate him putting all the onus on me. I happened to see one of ASAP's cars when I was at the post office one day. It was a nice clean car. Having had bad experiences with other cabs in the area, I stopped and talked with the driver. I asked if they had "no smoking" cars with drivers that do not smoke (you can have no smoking in the vehicle, but if the driver smokes that sickening smell travels with them). She couldn't speak for other drivers but told me she didn't smoke and that no one smoked in her car. I took one of her cards so I could ask for her. It has been a month or two since, and today I found that I needed to schedule a ride for next week. The card gives the number, "(606) 272-ASAP (7222)". So I dialed 272-7222. After several rings I heard a message saying the person hadn't set up voice mail, goodbye. I tried again on the chance I misdialed but heard the same message. Then I realized that ASAP is 2727 not 2777, so I called that number which was a law office. I went to the website for ASAP and checked the numbers and found the same numbers as on the card. There was an additional number for Watkins Glen, 535 2727 which I found was no longer in service. Bottom line they either need better advertising or they are out of business. Too bad, just when I thought there might be a clean AUTOMOBILE, not mini-van, non-smoking alternative. After this experience I started looking at the reviews and it sounds like maybe I am lucky to have learned this way rather than the way some of the other writers have learned. For Cornell University's home town one would have expected world-class transportation. Silly me. I guess I'll just need to buy me a carbon spewing gas guzzling beast. Maybe this is all in Ithaca's best interest. Reliable, clean, transportation service might cut too deeply into the city's parking meter and parking ticket source of funds. read more
