I continue to support this business. It's because they (no matter when) always make quality sushi where I never get disappointed with it. When people ask me what my favorite sushi restaurant is in town, I always name Asaka as my designated place. The five nigiri sushi I got from them tonight were all fresh. From my favorite, Kurodai to Aburi Salmon to Hotate to Kampachi to Bincho, had this place been a fancy restaurant they might get considered for a Michelin star dining spot. But some restaurants want to stay humble as they want to stay away from the spotlight so I get it. In a way, this is my neighborhood sushi restaurant that I can count on. I don't want them to be more than what they are now to be frank. Good and efficient service. They always treat me well with respect and regard. Small and yet clean tidy ambience is always appreciated. I always do takeouts; I don't think I have never dined here to be frank. So my aim is to do a nice sit down dinner with my family or friends soon.

Omakase
Holly M.

Great sushi and fantastic omakase. Can't wait to go back for more. It was a great time.

Slimy, mushy stringy beef.

A friend and I went to this restaurant based upon very good Yelp reviews, but I was extremely disappointed. The place is clean and nicely decorated, however the food and the service are terrible. The waitress seated us and left a legal size order sheet on the table along with a pencil. She then disappeared for twenty minutes and when she came back she was upset that we hadn't filled in her form! Whatever! I ordered Yaki Udon with beef & vegetables. The Udon noodles were warm and well seasoned, but the 'vegetables' were just undercooked carrot & celery strips. The worst part of the dish, however, was the beef which was small cubes of meat which was somehow slimy, mushy and stringy all at same time. I couldn't eat it so I brought it home for the dog (see photo). Our waitress never showed up again so we had to ask another waiter for our bill. Needless to say, I don't recommend this restaurant and won't be going back.

Sashimi

One of the better sushi spots in Colorado -- maybe my favorite overall. I've been here twice and would absolutely come more often if it were closer to me. The sushi, sashimi, and omakase are all outstanding. The quality is consistently exceptional. The restaurant itself is a nice, medium-sized, upscale sushi spot tucked into a strip mall. The service has always been attentive and friendly. One thing I really appreciate is that many of the specialty rolls come with dipping sauces that truly elevate the flavors and make the dishes stand out. Highly recommend. I'll definitely be back.

Service was good and sushi was very tasty as well as fresh. Was just busy so it took a while for the food to come out.

Spicy Garlic Edamame

Another great lunch here today. Spicy edamame is a fantastic way to start the meal. I went with my three reliables...the Rocky Mountain, Caterpillar, and New York. Disappointed to see the New York isn't on the menu anymore, I was happy to learn they'll still make it if you write it in the space provided. Score! My daughter got the Philly, California, and she tried the Tiger for the first time. While she liked the Tiger, she was a little freaked out by the shrimp on top (yes, I know). Not sure she'd get it again because of that. She liked my New York the best and the Rocky Mountain the least. Service is always attentive and great.

Happy hour lunch? Yes, please! We had the tempura mix, miso soup, Tiger Roll, Rocky Mountain roll, and spicy tuna. All were delicious. I wish the RM roll was spicier, the jalapeno was lost. But it was an excellent deal and tasty and so we will definitely be back!

This place offers good quality fresh fish and recently they started offering dry aged salmon, tuna and hamachi. Service is always great! We love coming in here for dinners or happy hour.

Great place for sushi. Friendly and attentive staff. Relaxed pace so you don't feel rushed and delicious food.nice place to relax and enjoy.

Our party of 18 came here last night for a birthday dinner. The entire staff from making the reservation to getting seated to receiving incredibly friendly and prompt service was amazing. Although they didn't have uni or hot sake, we still had a blast. My family had a great time and the quality of the sushi of this place is why we wanted to bring the whole family! They were able to put all the tables together to fit all 18 of us and we couldn't be more appreciative for that! Thank you to the attentive staff who always made sure our cups were filled with water and frequently checking if we needed anything else.

This place is super cute. I was my first time dining here and I kinda went crazy lol I'm not a super fan of sushi but I'm definitely in my exploring phase. There was nothing I didn't like. Everything was very good and the service was excellent !

This restaurant made me really stomach sick. I eat raw sushi almost every weekend, and this is the first sushi restaurant in Denver that has ever made me sick! The staff & service was great, however. Prices were a bit high compared to other restaurants as well.

Came here for lunch on MLK which meant no Happy Hour menu. Ordered very simple, Asaka roll , Cali Roll and an order of Goyza. Goyza came out quick like 2 minutes, it was very good. Asaka roll was ok I think the lemon sliver on top was weird to me. Would definitely recommend.

However, within a few minutes of placing the order I received a call, wanting to confirm which location I had wanted to place the order through. I had accidentally chosen the wrong location so they canceled my order and had me place it again online. They called the other individual I was with who also placed an order. This must happen pretty often if they're calling every single person that places an online order and I will say that I did not notice that I picked the wrong location when I placed the order. So I was grateful that they called to confirm. The order was ready when we arrive to the location and everything was accurate. I started with edamame. And I will say it is pretty standard edamame. I also wanted to try a California roll. It was really fresh and I would definitely order one again. My favorite of the appetizers was that Gyoza. Those were so good. I always order them with Ramen in Kansas City but these knocked any of those out of the park. For Ramen, I went with a classic tonkatsu. The menu description said that it came with corn and bok choy, but I was missing both of those items. The Ramen itself was really good. The broth was super rich and they gave you a lot. There were also a lot of Ramen noodles. And I did like the addition of the bamboo shoots. The marinated egg was fantastic. This classic was so tasty. If I lived in the area, I would definitely visit pretty often. There's so many different menu items that looked so good and I'm sure the other Ramen varieties are fantastic as well.

However, the food was quite a bit warmer than room temperature upon arrival. I noticed the menu highlighted both spicy sushi and sauced sushi, which should have been my first signal. Similar to a steak restaurant, my sushi shouldn't Require sauce for its flavor. Price point is great, so that's a win. They have a bright atmosphere. Kids like it here, and they have a couple of TV's that I'm sure are useful on big sports nights. On presentation they get a 5/5, but unless you're coming for a simple cali roll or something, I'd look elsewhere.

Please note that I tried things that other people have mentioned in their reviews as things they liked. I had the crunchy tuna appetizer, which was essentially several golf ball sized lumps of rice deep fried, with a tiny amount of tuna and I think avocado on top. It probably should have been called the crunchy rice appetizer, and really was not, to me, worth $14. Next up was the Joker roll, which I believe is mentioned by more than one person as their favorite thing here. If you like pepper, it's the roll for you. I have never had such a peppery sushi roll in my life and I did not like it. My final roll was the mango roll. Now I know what mangoes are and I knew what I was getting, so I can't really blame the restaurant for the fact that I guess I've learned I'm not a big fan of sushi rolls with fruit on them. It was well made for what it was, just not my particular favorite. The miso soup was lovely. The restaurant was nice and clean and as I have said, the service was impeccable, friendly, really everything you would want. Which is all the more reason I was disappointed that the food did not ring a bell with me. If you go to this restaurant, I would suggest you avoid the things I've mentioned and perhaps try some others. You may have better luck than I did, and you will be served well in the process.

We asked for extra sauce and we were charged an extra $1.50... I've never encountered a sit down restaurant charging for more sauce. Oh and the miso soup was lukewarm to cold... not sure if it was sitting out but that is not good. The chirashi bowl was okay, no complaints there. Red dragon roll was okay, they were having a discount on Red Dragon rolls so we decided to try it but when our check came they still charged full price. We had to clarify and asked them to fix the bill, which to their credit they did. Service wise, the lady (maybe the owner) was not friendly at all. She seemed not very happy to see us or serve us. Definitely felt like I wasted my money here.

We waited 15 minutes just to get any kind of service, eventually having to flag down a server ourselves. After placing our first round of orders, the wait continued. Nearly an hour later, I got up to find a manager because we felt completely neglected as a table while watching other tables receive much better service. Turns out, our server was the manager. When we asked what was taking so long, she apologized and told us the rest of our first order was being plated. That was apparently not true, because we waited another 30 minutes before it finally arrived. I had my young son with me, who was absolutely starving. After an hour and a half of being there and still not having received all of our food, I went to the counter and asked for everything to be boxed up. I was told it would be another 10 minutes. After waiting those 10 minutes, I finally had to leave my sister behind and take my son home because it was already past his bedtime and he needed to eat. And somehow, it got worse. My sister had to ask another server for our check because our original server/manager never came back to check on us or close out our table. During that interaction, the server spilled soy sauce all over my brother-in-law, ruining his entire outfit. The response was essentially just "I'm sorry, are you okay?" with no offer to help clean up or any real effort to make things right. At no point throughout the evening did anyone proactively check on us, communicate the delays, or acknowledge how unacceptable the situation had become. We had to repeatedly get up and track someone down just to receive basic service. What is most disappointing is that despite everything, no one offered a discount, compensation, or even made a genuine effort to make things right. After the amount of time we waited, the lack of service, being given inaccurate information, and the additional incident with the soy sauce, I absolutely feel some sort of adjustment to our bill was warranted. We weren't expecting perfection, but we did expect basic customer service and consideration, especially with a young child at the table. It's incredibly disappointing to go from genuinely enjoying a restaurant to leaving feeling like our business didn't matter. This wasn't just a long wait. It was an entire evening of being overlooked, having to advocate for ourselves, and ultimately leaving with a terrible impression of a place we once loved.
