Was treated to a birthday meal here and by golly it's good! My only regret is that I didn't go for the steak, I was allowed (quite grudgingly haha!) to sample a few bites of my partner's and it was divine...on another level of deliciousness in fairness! My burger was also excellent but failed to live up to that glorious steak (everything probably would in fairness!). My starter of prawn pil pil was packed with flavour and the sauce was so delicious that it prompted a plea for more bread to sop the lot up. Dessert was a milk chocolate cheesecake which manged to be lighter than it should have been without sacrificing on flavour. The only downside to the whole experience was the service which was a little erratic ( we had two or three different servers during the meal and had to ask a couple of times for extras we'd ordered - coffees and sides, that kind of thing!) Still with food this good on offer you'd forgive much shoddier service! One of the nicest meals I've had the pleasure of eating this year and by far the best steak I've tasted in Dublin to date.

I like Asador, a lot. After first trying their fare at The Big Grill BBQ festival, not once but twice, we decided it was time to pay a visit. And when I say a visit, I mean three. First off the decor in side is chic, if not a bit stunning. The round tables look so inviting too. The staff are amazing. So well trained, polite and at times charming. The only thing I would take from them is they were too attentive topping up our wine glasses on our last visit. Next up the drink. We've had the same, very drinkable Pinot Grigio on two occasions. I've had their Margarita on another. The latter was excellent. Next to the food. Well their chickens wings are a must. They are some of the best, if not the best I've had in Dublin. On our first visit we had the platter to share and that was fine. The ribs the highlight, the homemade sausage not so much. On the in between visit we had the steak as a main, which was fine also. It wasn't the fillet, but the more reasonably priced Picanha cut, which is rump according to the interweb. Overall a great experience. A few things holding me back from giving it five stars, but I will be back and hopefully they can win that last one over.

Overpriced cheap food. We ordered to deliver and we were expecting way more. Ordered the special bacon burger and chicken wings. At first We were amazed by the presentation and how that looked, but then we tried... And it was just disappointing.

I had the opportunity to try this restaurant for a work dinner with my team and was pleasantly surprised. We had to take the group menu as there were quite a few of us. The grilled halloumi cheese as a starter was just perfect. The main course was good too, even if very filling but the dessert was a bit disappointing. The mango cheesecake just tasted more like a flan than like a cheesecake. The service was really efficient and friendly. It definitely contributes to a livelier atmosphere in this quiet area, which is a bit off the centre.

Among the many options around Baggot street area, that is one of the best. Get prepared for some refinement and superb steak =) The place is super cool an modern inside. The staff are very nice and jokey. The tables are too close together and well.. At some point we were perfectly listen to other people conversation. The background music was great - some Latino style - but too loud if you want to have a conversation. Food. Delicious. But I found the menu a little small. I was told by the waitress it is like that because they have season's menu. All right then. I had the BBQ rack of lamb. It was really good and came in a big portion with lots of potato. My friends had the steak and said it was tasty and juicy. The wine list is long but drinks are expensive. Not a place for beer by the way. I would go again next time I feel like having a fancy dinner..!

So last year, at the craft beer festival in Herbert Park we met 'Asador' and we were impressed! I purchased a taste voucher a couple of weeks ago to treat the partner and we were very happy with Asador. Friendly staff, lovely ambiance with funky old school background music. I started of with prawns pripri and then the fish of the day which was simply divine with asparagus, hint of avocados, cherry tomatoes - delicious! I wasn't keen on the desert because one of the flavours was bitter and overpowering. We are definitely going back!!!

A meal here is well worth. I ordered a juicy, massive and incredibly tasty burger. I also had a starter and dessert. Tip. The main course is more than enough. The meals I saw all looks savagely good. Tip tip. Ask to book one of their booths. It's a great people watching spot. And you feel VIP!

Generally good atmosfphere. Good food but with a few comments: rare steak should mean rare not medium too much focus on "artistical impression" rather than actual taste Seafood tasting better than meat in a steak-focused restaurant is not a good sign Oh and.. Check the pic review :)

Booked Asador for girlfriends birthday (what a catch I am haha!!) Like others on here, I had also tasted Asador's goods at The Big Grill festival the last two years and had greatly enjoyed it and had a big ol' mental not made to try it out someday. On arrival, I loved the look of the place and was delighted to get a table quiet close to the open kitchen with the asador itself in full view. The smell was obviously divine!! I went for one of the Asador steaks ( how could I not!!) the 8 oz picanha. I have had this cut before and had been very happy with the experience. Here it was a couple of steps up again. Cooked to absolute perfection and so so tasty. The accompanying mesquite BBQ sauce, which I had not before was gorgeous, lovely and smoky!! The starter of salt baked heirloom beetroot salad with Ardsallagh Goats cheese, pistachio and orange vinaigrette was a delicious, light way to get proceedings started. We skipped dessert so as not to take away from the meaty delights we had just indulged in.

This is their second location after the original FX Buckley on Pembroke Street opened in the 1980s; but the Buckley family has been serving premium cuts of Irish beef since the 1600s! The restaurant's interior leans into rich, warm tones with dark woods, leather seating, an open kitchen, and an atmosphere that feels both refined and approachable. Make sure to check out the massive dry-aging fridge in the front of the space, where scarlet-hued meats are displayed through transparent glass panes. We made a reservation for 4 at 6:30pm on a Sunday night through OpenTable, and the restaurant was about half-full when we arrived, but filled up throughout the course of our meal. Our server immediately brought over a tray of their six cuts of meat (all 100% Irish and dry-aged for 28 days), including ribeye, striploin, filet, and variations on the bone. Additionally, there's chalkboard graphics on the wall with detailed descriptions of each cut, which was very helpful in our selection. All steaks are cooked in their signature Josper charcoal ovens, lending a lovely touch of smoky flavor. The menu reads "classic steakhouse", with plenty of different cuts and weights of steak, refined starters, plenty of sides, and a variety of options for non-beef-eaters. We also appreciated the fact that each steak comes with your choice of one of three sides (chips, mashed potatoes, or salad), as well as your choice of sauce (bernaise, bone marrow jus, garlic butter, or pepper sauce). Additionally, all steaks on the bone are served with crispy fried onions. Their wine list is highly lauded, with bottles from all around the world, and a master in-house sommelier. As two members of our party weren't too hungry, they split a Caesar Salad (€13) and the Free Range Chicken (€29) between them. The Caesar Salad was a fresh salad of lightly-dressed, crunchy romaine lettuce, topped with an almost snow-like shaved Parmesan, and Crowe's smoked bacon. The variety of textures and flavors made this a surprising hit. The chicken was tender and juicy, served with a rich truffle cream sauce and salted kohlrabi, as well as your choice of side (she chose the Sauteed Chestnut Mushrooms with Watercress, which were so tender that they cut like butter). While we found the portion of chicken to be a bit small, the ability to choose your own side (which are normally €7-8 on their own) was much appreciated. My brother opted for the 22oz Ribeye on the Bone (€90), which was a hefty portion of well-marbled ribeye on a dramatic tomahawk bone. It was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, with a signature reddish-pink center, and paired nicely with their sharp Pepper Sauce. His Beef Dripping Chips were thick-cut steak fries, with a delightfully crispy exterior, and a pillowy soft interior. Lastly, the fried onions tasted like an elevated version of French's Fried Onions (bringing back memories of Thanksgiving green bean casserole). I chose the 16oz Striploin on the Bone (€49.50) - one generally wouldn't associate the word "value" with a top-line steakhouse, yet this was truly a steal of a dish. Cooked to a perfect rare (cool red center) with a decent amount of marbling, yet still incredibly tender, this was one of the best steaks I've ever had. The bone marrow jus tasted like a rich gravy, yet not too decadent for the sumptuous steak. I chose the Organic Leaf Salad as a side, which was an assortment of mixed leaves, thin-shaved carrots and onions, and a tangy vinaigrette; I appreciated the lightness of the dressing when paired with the meat. We were so full from our generously-portioned entrees that we couldn't fathom ordering dessert, though some of their options were quite tempting (particularly their Bailey's Espresso Cheesecake). Additionally, their Sunday Roast (€29.50) is a much more affordable way to sample some of their Irish meat, though note that it's only served between 1-4pm on Sundays. If you're in the market for a proper steakhouse experience in Dublin with quality ingredients and thoughtful execution, looking no further than FX Buckley!

We arrived early in the afternoon, and once the restaurant opened, we were provided with free smells of wonderfully cooking beef. Our plans were to go explore Kilkenny, looking for a place to eat, as the Butcher did not have any available seats. As l've done with other cities around Scotland and Ireland, I walked in, asked Camila if there were any seats available for four, she said we have one available right now. I scurried back and got the rest of the crew, and we were provided with a wonderful meal. We all chose the daily special, which was a 12 ounce ribeye, which we shared between each couple. We also added in salads, as well as grilled vegetables and sautéed mushrooms. All aspects of the meal were really good. I don't recall the name of the server, but he was very good, along with everybody else on the team who were always paying attention, and provided you with anything you needed at a moment's notice. The restaurant was very busy, and I'm surprised we were able to get a table, but Camila did a great job. Great vibe in the place. No problem, it's NYE, we can wait for out booked time. Less than 5 minutes later we were lead to a table, not even time to order a drink! We shared everything. Ordered cocktails to begin with. They were ok, two different old fashioned drinks. We tried to order bone marrow, scallops, tuna tataki and a Caesar salad as starters. They were already out of the bone marrow and scallops. It's a holiday, you know there are reservations... what?! Poor management and planning!! They recommended the lamb kidneys... never had them before, super gross. I'll never do that again. It smelled like urine! We ordered the burger and 14 oz sirloin to share, medium rare on the steak. Polenta fries, and mashed potatoes. The polenta fries were outstanding! The burger was delicious! Smokey flavor, it was great. It came with huge steak fries, I prefer shoestring. The steak was not tender. Had a better steak sandwich at the Morrison for lunch. All in all, I will not be going back nor recommending this place. The wine I ordered never arrived, our water was never refilled. In fact, after the food arrived, we never saw anyone again!! When the check came with an obligatory 12.5% tip I missed it and paid. Once I noticed, I flipped out!! This was the worst service ever!! I double check tipping culture in Ireland before I complain. 10% is good for good service and bad service is ok to leave zero tip. So I asked for it back. They gave me credit for the tip but not the tax on tip. Unimpressed. Won't go again.

We were referred to Shanahan's by American friends. This is a classic American steakhouse, and had I realized that, I would have chosen a more authentically Irish restaurant. The meal and service were fantastic, but I'm not sure this would rank in my top steakhouse experiences. Our steak was not cooked medium rare - it was almost medium well. While everything was delicious, nothing stood out as unique other than the bread. That being said, a similar experience in the states would cost two times as much (think Morton's or Jeff Ruby's). The bread was fantastic, as were the scallops. As a southern American, the creamed corn was fantastic and as authentic as I've had anywhere (including the south). Our servers were incredibly attentive and the venue was beautiful. If you're from the USA... I'd pass and leave the experience to European tourists who want the American steakhouse experience. No complaints, just not what we typically look for when traveling international (which is entirely our fault). This is a very post place and reservations are a must.

This steakhouse reminds me of a Ruth Chris in the states. All steaks are ala carte and cooked perfectly. The only reason I didn't rate this higher is the wait service seemed to ignore me after I ordered and only till I asked for the check.
