Many of my girlfriends believe in the power of intention, and have a spiritual side, whether it comes from a belief in a higher power, or they dabble in the fun of horoscopes, feng shui, numerology or having their tarot cards read with the girls. You can get items from everywhere to a few dollars to a few hundred dollars, so this store definately covers all price ranges. I was in there this weekend for the first time in a few months, looking for stocking stuffers for my two best friends. When I walked in on my left, there were a number of Himilayan salt lamps starting in the $30 range. They are kind of neat if you are into that kind of thing: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&qscrl=1&nord=1&rlz=1T4ADFA_enCA452CA453&q=salt+lamps+calgary&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&ion=1&biw=1920&bih=815&wrapid=tlif132190423374910&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi Right in front of me, is the jewellery section, which includes many semi precious stones and natural materials. Much of the jewellery is hippie-ish, so if this is your style, you will go nuts! Some is a little higher end with semi precious stones and crystals. There is also an elaborate book section, where you can get books on anything from power of intention, health related books, "how-to" books on spirituality and even a large selection of tarot cards. There is also a pretty good selection of crystals and stones. What I value, is that there are often descriptions of what healing properties the different stones have. if you like display items make out of stones, there is no shortage of spheres, balls, wands and other products. You can even book readings here, if you are looking for some guidance from their local psychic or medium. Sage, color therapies, clothing, blankets, instruments - its all here! Check out the Divine Mine for all things spiritual! 20/30

I love their book selection and the prices are competitive with Amazon. Both floors of MG feature some of the best art that Canada has to offer. The gallery is well laid out, pieces are well curated and there is a specific room dedicated solely to the thirty year history of the gallery featuring a 150 year span of the best pieces of MG's past. Well lit and spacious, a Fafard colt sculpture is in plain view in the far corner of one of the rooms. Amazing! Joe Fafard is a world renowned Saskatchewan artist who recently showed at the Glenbow Museum just last year and now a lucky Calgarian can actually purchase one of his pieces here. MG is one of the oldest galleries in the city and is unique in that it carries both historical and modern pieces. Their mandate is making gallery visiting fun, they encourage you to simply come in and look around. One of the nicest perks about MG is once you are set on a piece, MG will let you take it home for a trial run, and once you have purchased a piece and have outgrown it you are welcome to take it back to MG and trade it for another one. For this reason MG has a steady cliental base here in Calgary because they ensure that your art purchases coincide with the money that you have available and the pieces that are purchased are of value.

While my husband is more skeptical of this modality for himself, he's fully supportive of my interest in it because he immediately saw that shift in my mood and noticed that I've been generally happier ever since. Before the session began Katie started by getting information about my experience/lack of with Reiki and what I wanted to get out of the session (had I had a session before? What did I want to work on? What specific questions was I looking to have answered during the session?) While I was initially a little nervous about the process Katie put me at ease before we started by providing lots of information about what Reiki is and how the session would go. During the session the insights she provided me with were accurate, and especially good reminders of parts of myself that I'd been neglecting/things to remember to focus on while work and the rest of my life have been so busy! Katie has an incredible gift and a passion for what she does that is obvious as soon as you meet her. I am already looking forward to booking my next session.
