Parking - not a hassle. There's lots of parking on 17th Ave SW or the side streets. Watch battery - I called around to several places to inquire about the cost of replacing my watch battery. It ranged from $25+tx to $40+tx. Calgary Jewellery will replace any watch battery for a flat rate of $25 including GST. This is remarkable. My watch battery is considered specialized but no issues. Don't go anywhere else. read more

I have a soft spot for Calgary Jewellery. This is where my husband got my engagement ring from, and this is where we both got our wedding bands from. During our engagement ring shopping period, we went to Spence, People's Jewellers, Birks, even Tiffanys. But they didnt quite cut it. We were looking for a specific designer brand, Verragio, because their rings were absolutely one of a kind and more exquisite than anything else made nowadays. Calgary Jewellery was the only store in this city that carried that brand, so off we went to check it out. The store is very well-laid out, and they only carry high-end brands like Verragio, Ritani, etc. Our saleslady, Christine was awesome. She showed us a ton of GORGEOUS Verragio engagement rings, and even helped my now-husband make a few custom variations on a Verragio ring later on. She was super helpful during this whole process. She even gave him a loaner 'fake' Verragio ring to propose to me with because he was planning to pop the question during our trip to Mexico and the actual ring wasnt done yet (due to the customizations). When we went to look for our wedding bands together, we again fruitlessly looked everywhere in Calgary but returned to Calgary Jewellery. We ended up picking another Verragio band to go with my engagement ring, because that's what we ended up falling in love with (and because we are spoilt brats with expensive taste :-/ ...). Also, for my husband, we ended up picking a band that a salesman (maybe the manager?) was wearing there. He was kind enough to take it off and let us try it on. It was perfect. Calgary Jewellery let us customize our bands too with a little message inside the rings, and had it all ready in record time. Calgary Jewellery was a great experience for us, and we always feel well taken care of, even when we go in a year later now to get my ring cleaned. We highly recommend this store to anyone who is looking for personalized service and a exquisite selection of high-end designer brands. It is one of the more pricey jewellery stores, but it is 100% worth it. read more

Recently purchased an engagement ring at Calgary Jewellery. The selection was excellent, with very wide price ranges available. The sales staff was actually extremely helpful and (surprisingly for a jewellery store) the staff does not try to push you towards unaffordable prices/options. Just be honest with your budget and expectations, and the staff will do its best to help you select the best option. Apparently, the owner of the jewellery store is often on site, making sure that all customers get excellent service. It's nice to know that he is there checking up on things, so when we had a concern he was immediately available to resolve it, and he invited us to express any future concerns so they can be addressed. I Purchased a sapphire ring from these guys and the claw was bent, when i pointed it out they told me I must have done it...I had owned the ring for less than five minutes, i went to my car looked at it and went back in, then they tried to charge me to fix it. Pathetic service! Brought my watch in, the technician looked at it said it needed to be sent in, cost 75 bucks to ship, it gets to the service centre and they say nothing wrong with the watch, just needs batteries! I ask the technician why was it sent in if it only needs batteries? He responds that the warranty would be void if they opened the watch to replace batteries. I will never deal with this business again! Funny your service tech looked at my watch and said it needed to be sent in ! He did not even check the batteries, and if you cannot change batteries without voiding warranty you are useless! read more

We had my original solitaire reset and 2 diamond wedding bands made in platinum. We were told that an appraisal would be done before we picked up the rings, it wasn't so I would have to bring the rings back later not to do the appraisal but just to take a picture to be added to the appraisal. How do you do an appraisal without the rings??? When we picked up the appraisal from Calgary Jewellery the stones were down graded, I ordered F/G color and their appraisal was G/H color, NO mention of chipped stones. Less than a month after having the rings the band on the engagement ring bent out of shape and scratched like crazy. The bands on the wedding bands also scratched. We decided to take the rings to an independent appraisal company before we went back to Calgary Jewellery to have any repairs done and that's when we were told that there were 2 chipped diamonds in one of the diamond wedding bands and that it would be unheard of that I would have caused the diamonds to chip (hardest stone!) and that I would have had to hit the engagement ring with a hammer to bend the band out of shape. (Did Calgary Jewellery really do an appraisal?) We took the new appraisal to Calgary Jewellery and the owner didn't seem to appreciate the fact that we had gone some where else to have the rings appraised and insinuated that I had chipped the stones and bent the engagement ring!! I think I would have known whether I had caused some kind of trauma to my hand to cause that much damage. The owner reluctantly agreed to repair the rings and replace the chipped stones at NO CHARGE..I guess he should. When I receive the rings back I will be taking them back to be re-appraised to make sure that the diamonds are what I ordered. I thought that my experience at a reputable company would have been much better than this. I won't be going back there to have any more jewellery made. read more
