Joseph was already so helpful over the phone when I had 100500 questions. He was very professional and understanding. He helped me understand the common mistakes, rules etiquettes and was very reasonable. I really liked how he maintained his composure throughout the test and continued to be patient. He was able to calm my nerves and helped me stay focused so that I could focus on driving. I was so confident and calm on my road test day that I passed in 10 minutes with no mistakes. Thank you! I am a quiet person and while I was polite and receptive to his small talk, I did not initiate or engage with it more than necessary. He made jokes about this after every single session saying that I "talked too much." Annoying, but not a big deal. However, after one particular session, when he dropped me off, he joked by telling me to "be a good girl or your mom won't give you a lollipop." You cannot make this shit up. Who says that?? I felt uncomfortable and repulsed by this strange comment. Once I passed my driving test, he handed me a stack of flyers for his driving school and asked me to put them up around my college campus to advertise him. I thought this was very unprofessional. He also took it upon himself to use some of our lessons as "highway practice" rather than preparing me for the driving test, clearly as a way to get more lessons and money out of me. In my opinion, if you are a young girl learning to drive who is not very assertive or talkative, he will take advantage of that. But take this as you will.

A few years ago I made a decision to get my driver's license, I tried, and failed the exam. I gave up on it and in 2025 found Mr. YANG's driving school, and decided to give it a try based on the reviews. I went with the 10 lesson unlimited driving exam option. All of my interactions with the owner Kenny, Nazia and my instructor Oscar were amazing. They are genuinely kind people that want you to learn to drive and pass the exam. I felt very supported throughout the entire process. Unfortunately, I ended up failing two more times. Honestly I was ready to give up. Nazia was a great encouragement as she booked additional lessons. Oscar really worked on getting my confidence up and reviewing my weak areas. This is very important whenever you're trying to learn a new skill. Oscar was very good at explaining the skills needed to pass the actual road test. I was finally able to pass the road test on my 3rd try! If you're a nervous driver I would recommend going with the driving packages that let you take the test as many times as you need. The most important thing is to keep pushing past the disappointment and continue to practice. Thank you so much Oscar and the team at Mr. YANG!

He made sure I got plenty of practice on the things I struggled with, going over them until I felt confident. One thing that made a big difference for me was that he spoke Spanish. Being able to ask questions and understand everything in my native language made me feel much more comfortable. Overall, it was a really positive experience and I'd definitely recommend them!

My driving instructor, Frank Dao, is hands down the best instructor I have ever had. After going through multiple instructors at another driving school who never took the time to explain my weaknesses or how to improve, working with Frank was a game changer. He clearly explains mistakes, makes sure you understand how to correct them, and gives detailed, practical tips for everything, from mastering turns to parallel parking. If you carefully follow and study his instructions, you will be well-prepared. I was extremely nervous throughout the process and honestly did not think I would pass but I did, all thanks to Frank (especially after failing my first road test 10 years ago). The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because my first assigned instructor was very unprofessional and did not take the lesson seriously. At the end of the lesson, he even asked if he could call me, which felt inappropriate and left me with nothing learned. I contacted the receptionist, explained the situation, and asked to be reassigned, which is when I was paired with Frank. While I was grateful for the switch, I do feel the school should have provided me with a makeup lesson since my first one was a complete waste of time. That said, I'm very glad that with only 4 lessons, I was able to absorb enough from Frank to pass my test. I do believe that if I had been given a proper makeup lesson with him, I might have finished with fewer points deducted.

They're unprofessional and extremely hard to work with. Joyce is the sole person scheduling things, and she is horrible at her job. They do not give you your 5-hour cert. They hold on to it, so you can only schedule your road test through them, and you cannot schedule it yourself. They add on months of wait time, as opposed to 1-2 months if you scheduled it yourself. I paid around 1k for 10 lessons, which turned out to actually be five 90-minute lessons. Very misleading!! I have had 2 instructors from them. The first one, Jason, was unreachable after 2 lessons, for some reason. He was okay at his job, not super motivating, but did what he needed to do. Joyce offered to switch instructors for the rest of my lessons, and oh my god. My second instructor, Johnm, was so unprofessional and mean. He NEVER gave me positive feedback, only mumbling about how horrible I was at each and every turn. He was smoking cigarettes before and after every lesson, which isn't necessarily a problem, but very unprofessional to do in front of the client and made the car smell. One time, he cut one of my lessons early cause he wanted a car wash. We got out of the car, and he lit up a cigarette as I just awkwardly watched the car go through. I could not believe this was the lesson I paid for. I did not even end up finishing my course with them, because every lesson felt like a humiliation ritual. I couldn't even get a hold of my 5 hr cert, so I started over at another driving school and passed my test on my first try with a perfect score.

Im sure If I didnt hit the curb I would have passed with 20 points for at least parking far from curb. Dont be an idiot like me trying to perfect everything. BTW on my last review I said about jet driving school. After taking 3 lessons with the instructor who seem like she owns that place, I cancelled. Instructor super strict with super old car that will not work with new drivers like us. I recommend Totally Cool Driving School anytime. My next road test is on June with same school . Goodluck! Hey Yelpers, I decided to review my experience here. My first time driving. Have a road test scheduled for May 3. So you bet that Im coming back to update my result. So my instructor is Teresa. Yes I have read all the reviews. Yes she is lesbian. No she does not flirt like someone else said. She has some instances like make stuff sound flirty and when laughing she would have some funny gestures, but thats it. People only get distracted and uncomfortable when a person with different sexual preferences do it. Just pay attention to your driving. Your not there to feel other thing than driving. Btw Im a 100% straight. I just think if a person cannot learn with a lesbian instructor ask not to have her. If your only feeling uncomfortable, You wont learn anything. So yeah I have taken 8 classes and just missing 2 of them. Teresa does be on her phone alot, but she will teach you good things. So Im close to my road test so I decided to book with Jet driving school for the next two weeks. Im so glad I did for my last two weeks because I have so much to learn. And its true Teresa never helped me have wheel control. No teaching that I have to move to different sides whenever Im turning. She hasnt help with many stuff. Ill say one cool thing about this school. Is that they have new cars. You can take their car to the road test with no doubt, but jet driving school still have old cars. So they are amazing to practice and brush up, but not to take on road test. At the end this is a great school just dont stick only with one because others have many stuff to teach ya. Plus this jet driving school had everyday I needed. They arent overbooked like cool driving school.

He once arrived late, then stopped mid-lesson to handle paperwork at the school, but never made up for that lost time. Though he compensated for his late start, he didn't account for the interruption, which I found unfair since I was paying for every minute. After requesting a female instructor, Lisa, I faced new challenges. Lisa had a cold demeanor and offered criticism rather than guidance. When I asked to learn parking, she refused, insisting I had to perfect other skills first. Even when I showed improvement, she didn't acknowledge it. Eventually, when she finally taught parking, she used a mistake I made later as an excuse to claim that I shouldn't have learned parking at all. Overall, the experience felt unkind and inflexible, with little collaboration or warmth. I wouldn't recommend this school, as the environment was passive-aggressive and unsupportive.
