Absolutely horrendous. Called Arva because an appliance they installed was malfunctioning. Not a big deal, these things happen. Their initial service wasn't very good, but thought I'd call to see if they could help me problem solve. As it was a pluming related item, I called the number the repairman left and asked if I could speak to someone about "plumbing repairs." Was very angrily told "we don't do plumbing, look elsewhere" and hung up on. Okay. Not every employee is gonna put your best foot forward at a company, but no big deal. So I called again, hoping for another person. I started with the same greeting: "Hi, I was hoping to speak with someone about a pluming issu-" and was met with the following: "We don't do pluming, find someone else." And then he hung up. AVOID THIS COMPANY. Rude office (maybe the owner) and they could not fix 2 of my appliances in a rental. Service call for dishwasher. Couldn't repair. Told I needed new dishwasher and they could sell me one. The service call was fairly inexpensive so instead of going to a big box retailer, I wanted to support a local business with repair trucks on the road. BIG MISTAKE. Claimed dishwasher was ordered. Nearly two weeks later - nothing. Here is where things really went south. I also needed the fridge fixed in the same unit. They came for service call. Said needed to order parts. I ok'd. Days later part comes. $389 for a repair BUT MY TENANTS ARE TOLD AFTER THE REPAIR TO TURN THE FRIDGE OFF so it can defrost. My question - why didn't you ask them to do this before?????? My tenants lose food and take other food to family member. They follow instructions. Start it up again. It still doesn't cool. Company comes back out and says do it again!!!! That's when I asked for a refund which they agreed - although it hasn't been received yet. I would have stuck it out with them. Steve the repairman was nice enough. It just fell short. Three words describe this company: Unreliable, irresponsible, unprofessional. We had a dishwasher that was failing and we asked them to come out and take a look. When they arrived, they noted that the main gasket was missing and due to the age of the dishwasher, it would make more sense to just buy a new one. We went ahead and purchased a dishwasher and let them know when it was delivered to our house. George came by and paid us a few visits before actually installing the dishwasher. The first time he came to see what we had ordered and to take some measurements, but he said he wouldn't be able to install it that day. Just an FYI George, we could have given you the model number and you could have looked up the measurements online instead of wasting everyone's time. The second time, he called and said he forgot one measurement and had to stop by...ok George, again-look online and save a trip, but nope-he came back and measured which wasted everyone's time again...once again, he didn't install anything the second trip. Finally he came by on his third trip to install the dishwasher-alright! He called the day before (on a Sunday afternoon) and we said we would be available after 11 am on Monday. My wife arrived home at 10:50 and he was there waiting, looking slightly agitated that no one was home when he came. Regardless, he began the install. When installing the dishwasher, he secured the hot water under the sink. But then he said he didn't trust those valves so he shut off the main hot water valve by the water heater. He finished installing the dishwasher, went to turn on both valves, and found that he couldn't turn on the valve next to the water heater. He told my wife, who was home with our 10-month-old son, that he wasn't a plumber, we have a faulty valve, and he couldn't do anything else about it. My wife called me and I asked to speak with George and I couldn't believe his completely apathetic stance. He said that this was in no way his fault and that we would have to have a plumber come out to get our hot water back on, and that he would not be held responsible for the damage he had caused to the valve. We didn't have any options-we need hot water. So we called a plumber and $274 later, we had hot water. George came back that day, looked at what the plumber had done, and said 'That's a new valve'...sidenote: he pointed to an older valve that the plumber didn't even touch-I guess George isn't a plumber after all! He checked out the dishwasher and ran it. This company shouldn't be in business. He had to come to our house 3 times to install a dishwasher, he broke a valve and refused to accept any responsibility for it, and he still charged us full price ($250) to install the dishwasher. A complete rip-off. I would not trust George or ARVA appliance to do any appliance work again. read more

I'm not sure about the negative reviews here, but I called them (not a rush job) to come repair my double oven which had been broken for quite some time (as in, count in years). They came when they said they would, were flexible with the timing of their visits, called when they were running late, and came back 3 times to make sure things were fixed - to the tune of my double oven finally working again, after about 3 years. When I found that I could get the parts they needed for less than what they quoted me, they readily asked that I go ahead and get the parts, and they would install it. This appliance of mine in a state of disrepair is now repaired, and they were professional and friendly. Price for their work was more than reasonable. I highly recommend them. read more

Came and diagnosed the dryer problem as a broken belt. Returned a week later and took it apart and said another more qualified tech would have to come later to finish the job. A week later the next guy said he couldn't fix it at all. read more

I was pretty happy with the service I got from Arva Appliance. Steve answered the phone and came right out as scheduled. He was a really nice guy and I felt comfortable with him in my home. He gave good advice- I compared options. He also knew a lot about my appliances. He texted me to follow up which I really liked and prefer to calls. I was charged $59 for coming out on the first visit then $190 for the repair. I do feel like this was a bit high, but I wanted it fixed and the process was easy. I didn't look up what the parts would costed as others did but in general I was happy with the service I got. read more

They are slow to respond, have terrible service and do not make sure the job is complete. This company is here just to get paid and not provide full and complete services, I would highly recommend choosing a different appliance repair company. read more

I scheduled an appointment for the same day and gave my client's contact info since the repair was for his house, not mine. The person on the phone told me he would get back to me the for exact time of arrival and I was fine with it. Then, he called me back telling me he was supposed to call my client and not me and ask for payment information which he didn't let me know in the first call. He kept cutting me off on the phone multiple times when I tried to explain to him what I needed from them and how I can make the payment if my client is not going to be there. He eventually said he can't help me and hung up on me. Never tried to work with anyone this unprofessional in my life. Not recommended at all. Good luck to them staying in business. read more

They got 1 Star because they answered the phone, I guess. My gas oven died the week before Christmas. I called Arva, the man I spoke to said they could come that day, between 1 and 4. I called their office a little before 4 to find out what happened, I got an answering machine, and that's the last contact I had with them. Why would they do something so despicable? My husband fixed it for me, but it took a few days for the part to come, but there are YouTube videos that explain, in detail, what to do. I wouldn't say it was easy, but the part cost $33, and with a little patience, and a bit of contortions because it was the lower oven, my oven is fixed. Haha, Arva, we don't need you, and the more people you screw over, the more people will discover that they don't need "experts" like you at all. read more

We manage a large portfolio of rental homes and have Arva as one of our vendors for all kinds of appliance repairs and replacements if needed. They are reasonably priced and let us know right way what they assessed as the problem. We will continue to use Arva Appliance. read more

I definitely recommend NOT to use Arva Appliance repair. They recently did work for me. Based on online searches for the average retail cost of the specific parts for my appliance models, it was approximately $110 for parts and $390 for labor. The repair work took about 30 minutes. (And when I contacted the owner regarding this matter, he stated that they "charge a flat fee and do not breakout the parts/labor cost" - which makes sense since the are charging exuberant labor costs.) read more

I called Arva Appliance Service when I had a problem with my freezer in the refrigerator. The repairman responded within about 4 hours of my calling. After looking at the problem, he diagnosed the problem as a defective gasket and said that he would call the following day with an estimate for fixing the problem and a date on which it could be done. When I did not receive a call, I called them. The repairman called about an hour later and said that it would take 3 to 4 days to get the part and wanted $255 to repair the refrigerator. I called another company and had the refrigerator fixed the same day at half the cost. I would stay away from this company. read more

Their website says same day service if you call before noon. I called at 11:27, and they said it was too close to noon and they couldn't come today. Few things are worse than false advertising. They could have offered something to make up for not being able to come, but instead, they were very rude and just said, "sorry. We're very busy." They could also update their website and say that it's not guaranteed, but currently, same day service is in all caps. I called another company, Appliance Repair 911, and they were able to get someone out. While Arva never serviced my appliance, I would not recommend them simply for false advertising and unwillingness to compensate for it. read more

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I should have listened to the reviews. This repair man just told me two things: 1) Tribles wouldn't have the part I need in stock "They'll have to special order it", and 2) the part he whipped out of his bag was a $50 part. I looked it up online after he left... can't find it for more than $22. It's actually $9.45 on Amazon and $10 at Home Depot. When I questioned the $200 price on the 6 minute repair, (I understand the $60 visit, and even believed the $50 part cost, but $90 for 6 minutes worth of work???) his answer- "that is our cost to replace this part. I'll just take it off if you don't want it." I should have had him take it off. I honestly don't know how people sleep at night. By the way, Tribles does have the part in stock. Yesterday (Fri) realized that our refrigerator went out - stopped cooling and freezing. Thought so the night before (Thurs) as ice cream was unusually soft. So, Fri 11:30 am I called ARVA and they sent a repair team who arrived within a couple of hours. Good response time. One diagnosed one thing, other gave final diagnosis of another - as needing new control board. This was 2:30 pm - and they would bring us a new board next day on Sat. Required $100 deposit. Team returned Sat around 11 am and put in new board. Since I'm not as limber as I used to be and could not get back behind the refrig once it was moved forward, I asked them to wipe the dust with a huge handful of dampened paper towels. Since the visit was costing us a total of $329 I really didn't think this was an unreasonable request. I asked them to wipe the dust, not scrub, mind you. They did it very obviously with unwillingness. So, I said out loud to my husband that I wouldn't call them again. Their demeanor changed to a more willing tenor. I checked the part cost. Depending on where you get it $99-$150. So, I understand the $100 visit fee and $150 part cost (max), that makes $79+ upcharge pure profit. Hope that their diagnosis was correct. Will I call them again? No. read more
