I brought in a pair of White Saint Laurent pants to get cleaned. There was a stain on them. When I l picked up my item the stain was still there and there was now a hole in the pants that were not there prior to me dropping the pants off. Would absolutely not recommend this place at all. read more

On May 28 I picked up some clothes I had left to get dry cleaned. Today I took one of the jackets I had left in their plastics and saw that the inside seams made out of silk was ripped and the positioning of the rips seems like their equipment is outdated. Today I called Art to ask him if I can text him the pictures because I just wanted to know if it can even be fixed. He kept saying to bring it in and it's been 3 months. I explained to him that I dry cleaned it but just took it out of his hanger today and just wanted to send a picture so he can give me peace of mind. I used to bring my clothes to him in dtla all the time u til I moved never had this issue. He said to bring it in. I told him it's a 1600 Palm Angels jacket and just want to know if it's possible to fix. He then said I can't text because he doesn't have a cell phone and that it doesn't matter even if it's a 10,000 jacket. I then told him Pls can I just text it to you so you can tell me right now if it's fixable because I'm flying to Vegas. He says again I can't. Word of advice. Don't bring designer pieces here because your jacket can look like this Just looked at other reviews and it's the same type of rip with someone that took in rick owens and helmet leng. I dropped off 3 items to be cleaned: a Helmut Lang shirt, a Rick Owens Blouse, and an Alexander Wang shirt. When I went to go pick it up today, the owner yelled at me for coming few hours earlier and then brought over my items saying they were ready. He brought over my Helmut Lang shirt in his hands and not on a hanger and revealed holes all over the shirt. He then began to try and blame me and the fabric. He accused me saying I must have put acid or cleaning chemical because it ate away at the fabric. I cant think of anyone sane who'd pour acid or clean while wearing a designer shirt. A totally nonsensical claim! I kept telling him over and over that it was coffee. He told me the fabric was too delicate and had me touch it. I stretched it with my hands and it didnt rip. How much force and pressure did he exert to to cause such damage??? To add insult to injury, he said I must have gotten them second-hand or used. WOOOOW, the audacity of this guy. I was so upset I just tried to pay and leave and he suddenly switched positions and said no fee. That he doesn't do this for money. I got home to find that it wasn't just the Helmut Lang he ruined, they also destroyed the bottom of my Rick Owens top. I just showed it to the Rick Owens store manager and brought it over to my tailor. I know you feel good about not charging me for $40-60 for the cleaning, but if you only knew how much I spent on those garments, you'd feel terrible. I will not return here again. Really poor customer service. The owners are a husband & wife who seem to not communicate well with one another, as one of them would promise me one thing at one visit, and the other would argue with me incessantly that it was not true at a second visit. To start, at my first visit, the female owner stated they offer free delivery to my apt building. However, I later learned that is not always the case. The second time I went to visit, the very impatient male owner stated I can only get free delivery if I spend a certain amount. Why wasn't this communicated to me the first time? At the first visit, the female owner advertised free delivery with no stipulations. Now there's an added fee unless I spend a certain amount? I really dislike deceptive business practices and when companies try to lure in customers and then throw in new fees out of no where. That is not cool. This was not the only communication problem I encountered here. I was also given different prices for my garments during my two visits. The male owner accused me of lying about the prices I was given the first time, and had to call his wife to confirm (she ultimately did confirm that I was right and wasn't lying). I was so frustrated and turned off with this back and forth that I decided I wouldn't give my business here. I just want my clothes dry cleaned, I'm not here to get into a debate between a married couple. I also find it ridiculous that they don't list their prices in a brochure anywhere. When I asked why they don't list their prices anywhere, they said writing their prices down causes too any problems. You think? (See other reviews about the owners changing up their prices based on the apparent wealth of their customers... so messed up!!!) Lastly, I felt my clothes were not cleaned as thoroughly as other places I've been to. When I confronted them about this and asked what their cleaning process entails, they got super defensive and told me I should just wash my clothes more often. Well, why do I not have this problem at other dry cleaners? In sum, I've decided to return to my old cleaners down the street (check out my other reviews). Even though this place has more competitive overall pricing, it's not worth the added stress & the shoddy business practices. "Come on.. did the owners really yell at you?" In this case, yes. Yes, they did. Pros: - Fairly cheap for downtown. - Quick turn around, but... Cons: - Nightmare customer service (Lusine/Lucy was extremely patronizing and yelled at me for pointing out parts of my suit that were inadequately cleaned). - Don't keep their word and are inconsistent. Was quoted $3 for shirts by the man (might have been Sarkis). Brought it in the next day. Lusine/Lucy said she needed to charge me $2 extra ($5/shirt) because they needed to be "rushed." Not what I was told before. Fine. I paid it without contesting. However... - Poor quality!! The suit I had dry cleaned had stains and improper creases. As did the shirts I left with them!! I went to drop a wool, to the ankle jacket. The lady behind the counter immediately said it would be 50$. I was completely in shock. A duvet at any cleaners will run no more than 35$ and this was y half of that amount of fabric. When I asked why, she shrugged her shoulders. It was VERY clear, she wanted me to leave. Just to be sure I wasn't tripping, I walked about 3 blocks to laundry depot who cleaned the jacket for 15$! That is a big leap from 50$! I brought in what I thought was a leather jacket to be cleaned for a photoshoot. When I picked it up, there were small tears and damage on the back and around the collar, the inside wasn't cleaned at all, and there are still deodorant marks and a smell. After looking at the tag, I realized it said do not dry-clean. I take responsibility for not appropriately checking the tag, but I feel that it is negligent and unprofessional for a dry-cleaning business to not check the garment appropriately before the process of cleaning. I was charged $55 for a genuine leather cleaning fee. My Jacket is now ruined and I will still have to clean it myself to for the photoshoot it will be a part of. read more

Do not come here. Going to keep this straight to the point but after being a loyal customer spending a lot of money here, they ruined a very expensive item of mine that is unfixable. First I received no apology which shows a level of care they don't have for not even apologizing for a mistake made by them. Cheap and convenient if you're in downtown. I had a stain on my suit and they were able to remove it, only cost $5 for the jacket. Kind of easy to miss, despite the huge signs outside, since it's right in the heart of the jewelry district. Street parking can be tricky. Seemed like good quality work and efficient service. I'll be back to use them for more dry cleaning in the future. The owners need to really get a lesson in customer service or should find themselves going out of business soon. After being a customer of art's cleaners for about 2 months my apartment had coupons for his establishment I assumed to help promote business and they had put them in mailboxes so I thought great I will use it since I spend a great deal of money here on blouses and dress pants for work! When I friendly put the coupon on the counter he cursed and screamed at me until he literally chased me out to of the store the point I was so scared he would hurt me that I ran FAST! Numerous pants and shirts gone and they wont reimburse you! They don't pay attention to detail - do they even dry clean your shirts/clothes??? Had to constantly remind them to remove stains! Inner collars of the shirts never cleaned - missing noticeable buttons never replaced. All collar stays gone! And when you ask for them, they don't know what happened to them, collar stays are probably the most important add on to a crisp shirt. You hire a dry cleaners to do this for you not to add to your busy work life. Wire hangers are reused/crooked - leaving weird creases on garments. Here is the definition of customer service which they don't know. Customer Service: Good customer service means helping customers efficiently, in a friendly manner. It's essential to be able to handle issues for customers and do your best to ensure they are satisfied. This place DOES NOT dry clean your clothes. I am pretty sure they only press your items and say they actually did some sort of cleaning job which is painfully obvious it is a lie. I've had multiple shirts come back where the armpit sweat stains were actually more pronounced than when I had them turned in and tailoring jobs that would come undone after a day of it being worn. If a SCAM is defined by some one or a business that takes your money in exchange of a service or product and that service or product is never delivered, then it is a SCAM and that's exactly what this place is. I'm a small business owner whose main pitfall is being half Asian/ergo appearing young for her age (in my 30s but maybe looking 25 or so). I work in fashion and dress really well. Oftentimes, this combination leads to people thinking I'm some naive trust fund kid who just has money to throw around. Meanwhile, the reality is that I grew up very poor and have been working full-time since I moved out at 15 years old. I take pride in my appearance and work very hard to maintain my professionalism at all times. This extends not only to the way I behave and dress but also to the fact that I have a set price that I charge all of my clients, regardless of their appearance, perceived income level, etc. This is what we call honest business. This is also what I would call "long money" (long term client satisfaction to maintain forever relationships). Unfortunately, Art's Cleaners doesn't subscribe to this belief and is all about short money (quick money, high volume). They will tell you a price and then the price will change based on their personal perception of you. Your cleaning prices will be all over the place. If you try to point it out, they will make it out like they're doing you a mystical favor of astronomical proportions and then talk to you like you're still that poor 15 year old kid. However, because you're a grown woman (or dude) in her 30s who's also a business owner, you know how you deserve to be regarded, so you should march down the street to a cleaner over on 7th and Main, where it's $6 to clean everything, regardless of the owner's mood/perception of you or personal dealings. So, that's what I did, and I recommend to you. We all work hard for our money and deserve to be treated as such. I'm not rich, and I'm not poor but I definitely don't want to share any of the wealth I DO have with Art's Cleaners. Neither should you. Don't believe the hype. Had three ties done, five dollars each, which were supposed to be delivered a few blocks away the following week. Never delivered as promised. One tie, a red tie with a tightly woven, flat, hard silk surface, was cleaned well, like scrubbing a floor to a slick shine. Another tie, a grey woolen one with a softer, more textured and looser surface, was still saturated with the same stain, though less obviously than before. The last tie was a rep tie, striped blue and grey, silk, that didn't look as though it had been cleaned at all. Each tie, I must admit, was returned wrapped up like a Christmas present, in multiple layers of cardboard and plastic wrap, raising expectations. Hence the extra star for showmanship. But when a tie, basically a piece of narrow fabric, costs the same price as a suit jacket to clean, it should at least come out looking better than before. If not there should be a note letting you know. If I'd been told, and I did ask, I wouldn't have bothered to write this review. If it ain't right admit it and either make it right or ask the customer to take it somewhere else. That's forgiveable. But claiming you've done your job well when you haven't, that's not. read more

I totally understand that sometimes, accidents happen and there's no guarantee that anything dropped off at the dry cleaner's will come back the way it's supposed to. So if it had not been for the rude and dismissive way the owner responded when I called to notify him of the ruined state in which my beloved, unique jacket came back in, I would not have left this bad review and would have returned. I have been a loyal customer at this cleaner's for almost two years, spending about $100 every other month or so. I have never been blown away by the quality of the service or the customer experience, but generally I found the place very convenient and useable. This last time, however, my jacket (see picture posted)--which has been dry cleaned successfully before--returned in a very sad and unwearable state. Like I said, I totally understand that accidents happen. So I call Art and notify him of the result, only to be met with a rude lack of care or concern. This is your business, Art! Even if you ultimately decide that you won't pay me for this or even offer to comp the $7 cleaning fee on this jacket (which would have been the incredibly easy solution), you should have at least showed some concern here instead of being dismissive to a loyal customer. I have a new go-to cleaner!!! I travel often for business, and I can be a little frustrating for cleaners. Lucy (the owner) did the following: 1. Made my comforter look brand new after my dog got sick on it. 2. Dry-cleaned my shirts to perfection. 3. Made my suits look amazing. 4. Free pick-up and delivery (this was a lot of stuff, enough to warrant two trips to the car) 5. Personally called me to tell me it was done. 6. Gave a very fair price for the whole thing. 7. Sent delicate fabrics back until they were completely clean. Monte Carlo cleaners used to do my dry cleaning, but take my word for it, Art's is at least 10x better.
