Came in to get a tattoo and met Dave. He gave me a great consultation right off the bat. We discussed the process of tattooing, and I could tell right then he was the right artist for me. He has a passion for the artistic process of tattooing, and, being an artist myself, I really appreciated this. I went home after an extremely helpful consultation, more carefully looked at Dave's portfolio and chose to get a black and grey tulip. This tattoo came out lined perfectly, anatomically correct, and shaded beautifully. I get great comments on this piece all of the time. It is truly elegant, and we put the tattoo in a location which could have the option to open into a sleeve. I just went back to the shop the other day--after one year--and here we are designing my sleeve. Dave's artistry is superb and his clear passion for the work I put on my skin rings out in his bold line work and deep range of shading. Incredible experience. My friends and I decided to get tattooed while we were in Ithaca and did the tour of three shops in the area, hoping someone might take a walk in. Two of the shops gave off an unwelcoming vibe. We were all drawn to Ron at Artistic Point because he was friendly and helpful right off the bat. It was my friends first tattoo and I don't think it could have gone any better. Ron told her how it would go, answered her questions, and assured her that she would be fine. He was incredibly professional throughout the whole experience and so nice, asking us questions and telling stories. Such a great guy and he had quality work in a broad range of styles. My 2nd attempt was in Florida by a huge body builder who didn't speak very good english - I should have walked out BUT I didn't. Walking around their new building I decided to walk in and talk to someone about "covering my bad tattoo's with a beautiful butterfly." This place is fantastic. I got my nose pierced last week and they did a great job. I called earlier in the day to see if they take walk-ins because I didn't know ahead of time when I would be able to come. I called about an hour before I wanted to go and then when I arrived they got me in immediately. The shop is super cool looking and very clean. The staff is really nice and the guys had my boyfriend and I laughing the whole time. The piercer (Nate I think?) was very clear in his instructions on how to clean the piercing and care for it. The whole piercing process was painless and he was very calming. It came out perfect. There are a few reviews calling the guys rude, etc. Based on my experience, I have to imagine that the reviewers are not fully innocent in this... you get what you give. If you're rude and demanding to service people, you'll get it back. If you're gonna freak out about calling ahead then not getting in when you get there, make an actual appointment. Relax. Be flexible. Don't be a d*ck and treat them with respect, and you'll get it back. This place is awesome. Will be going back. read more

I made a horrible mistake with a tattoo a few years ago. The placement, artist, and the design were all wrong. Not many artists were willing to take on this project. As soon as I walked in I felt comfortable. Nate looked at the atrocity that covered the entire top of my hand. He did his best to politely tell me it wasn't the worst he'd seen. Even though I'm sure it had to have made his top 10. Either way he told me with confidence that he could help me. I came in for my appointment a couple of weeks later with hopes that my hand would be bearable to live with when he was done. Nate worked miracles with it. I'm excited with how much I absolutely love his work. I won't ever go anywhere else. With how amazing he did on this cover up, It's no wonder he's confident and knows his worth as an artist. I got a cartilage piercing during COVID and it was a great experience overall. Artistic Point is very safe covid-wise and only lets one customer in at a time. DO NOT GET A PIERCING HERE. The piercer f***ed my face up and tried to blame it on me. I have a scar on my eyebrow now. I came in two days after getting the piercing because I saw that it was infected already, he told me it was fine. A week later I had to have it removed. He tried to blame it on me, saying he warned me not to pierce with a horseshoe. He did not. He told me about this when I came in after two days with the infection. The piercing was too shallow and was rejected immediately. My other eyebrow piercing (healed two years) is now migrating due to the jewelry given to me. I can't speak for tattoos, but save your body and money and don't get pierced here. read more

I researched tattoo shops in Ithaca, specifically for walk-ins since I was in town for a short visit, and artistic point had great reviews from both my friends and online! My first impression of the shop was how beautiful and clean it is, also very inviting. I had a friendly greeting when I came in and everything was super professional from start to finish. Ron was my tattoo artist and he was awesome! Very friendly and knowledgeable, not to mention a great artist both on canvas and skin. We called to see if there was availability, we were told to come in at 3 and were told to come back at 5:30, no one bothered to take our information that should've been the first sign. We return at 5 and the man at the desk was horribly rude and looks us in the face and goes "sorry no availability my bad". My friend got a tattoo here, and the shop was dark (not good for watching the tattooing process), and the artist was not very pleasant... He even has a rule against singing the songs playing in his shop. Pleasantness aside, for someone who had never gotten a tattoo before, he didn't tell my friend very much about aftercare, and lo and behold, the tattoo proved difficult to take care of. When I got a tattoo, my artist gave me a checklist and some lotion to put on my tattoo for the healing process. This artist provided none of this. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone who wants a friendly, helpful artist and a great tattoo experience. read more

Clean, well organized, WELL LIT, and great decor to boot! From the moment I walked in I knew I had found a new home in Ithaca. We were greeted with a beaming smile and a hearty hello and without an appointment my friend and I were able to get our cartilages pierced no problem. Our new friend explained in great detail the benefit to having our cartilage pierced with a stud vs a hoop and gave us a lot of great tips for keeping it clean and expediting to healing process. He was also very patient with us and our hundreds of questions about tattoos. We were also very kindly extended an invitation to come back whenever we needed our jewelry changed - which was a relief because when I attempted to change my tragus piercing for the first time it proved to be much more challenging than I had anticipated. Can't say enough great things about my visit to Artistic Point Tattoo Co and if I am ever in the market for another piercing or even a tattoo it will definitely be my first stop!!! I would have to give this place....5 thumbs down. I got a tattoo here about 2 months ago on my ankle and it looks just horrible. It is a small penny-sized black outline of a triangle. I was given no supplies or instructions for how to care for it, and ended up getting a mild infection where the needle was painfully ground into my skin. I had to rely on google for advice for how to heal a tattoo and this was most unhelpful. Now I am left with a greyish, scarred tattoo that I will have to get retouched (another $70 out of my pocket). I wouldn't send my worst enemy to get tatted at this place. read more

I got a sick tatoo from this place and love the professionalism they give. I saw a picture of their old shop in Cali when waiting and can tell they know what they are doing. I priced out the other tatoo shops and this one was priced slightly higher, but I decided to go with them because of their Artistic vibe. You can tell the owner, Nate, is a family man who is more interested in tatooing for the art, then just to make money. He is now the only shop I use and two of my boyz have gone their too.... I must say, the tattoo itself ended up being very well done and how I wanted it but Nate was very rude to me... he made awkward sexist jokes that made both me and my friend uncomfortable and his style of humor wasn't very friendly. I got my very first tattoo here, so obviously I was very nervous. I knew what I wanted and had a few font ideas, and they were very helpful with helping me narrow down the choices and printing out different options so that I could see what it would look like. I was so happy with how it turned out, and the aftercare recommendations that they gave me worked, my tattoo was fully healed in five days!! I even was able to play sports in full equipment three days after I got it. After having a good experience with my tattoo, I also went there to get my tongue piercing done as well, and they were very quick and efficient about it, and obviously everything was very clean and I was never concerned about germs. read more
