We have two identical custom made security doors for our new home. The doors are not only truly creative and beautifully enhance the exterior of our home, the high quality doors also provide excellent security. We have a whole house fan and the ventilation with the screens on the doors is very good. The materials are far superior to anything you could buy and the craftsmanship is clearly better. If your want the best, call Artistic Iron. Very responsive and helpful is selecting the right color and materials. Install was flawless And post-install follow-up Was an unexpected but welcome benefit.

This was my second set of doors with Artistic Iron. The quality of door is always above and beyond and install is very professional. You are going to pay a little more than a box store door, but the ability to do a custom design and the quality makes its 100% worth it. The first set of doors are still installed on the home I just sold and still look new - metal, powder coat, locks, hinges, plastic, all still great after over 7 years of daily use. Will use them again if I have another home and as always will continue to suggest them.

Artistic Iron built two doors for us, one a few years ago, the other a few weeks ago. Both doors were built to the highest quality standards and were clearly built to last. They provide excellent security to our front and back doors, seal out cold air in the winter, and are also attractive. Highly recommended!

A neighbor recommended Artistic Iron for a front storm door. The door is solid and high quality. The company was very easy to work with. We are very happy with the results.

Over the years, the plants and shrubs required a great deal of trimming and maintenance, yet they still outgrew their locations. Highland came in and removed all the overgrown shrubs and replace our entire 30 year old, 12-zone sprinkler system. Highland installed a high quality Rain Bird system with three manifolds beautifully built and professionally wired with waterproof wire nuts. The quality and attention to detail is second to none. Highland partners with a local nursery that has an exceptional selection of high quality bushes, trees, shrubs and perennials. We were able to select exactly what we were looking for with their guidance. Highland utilizes software capable of creating 3D renderings of the landscape with the plants we selected at full maturity to ensure that we were getting the curb appeal we envisioned. Highland doesn't hesitate to devote a large crew to a landscaping project when its required. Every Highland employee that we interfaced with was courteous and respectful. Once the plants were delivered, they planted with the same care and attention to detail. They ran two driplines to every plant and ensured that the right size emitters were used based on the plants water needs. Highland has skilled craftsmen that take pride in their work. They go above and beyond to ensure that you are pleased with the final result. We had a particularly challenging area, that we were not sure how to address. Highland came up with a unique solution that they implemented beautifully. From the beginning of a project, Highland listened to our concerns and goals. Their proposal was very detailed and addressed all of our desires. As with any landscaping project, there were additions and changes along the way. Through out the process, there was always open communication about any additional costs and the final billing was clear and transparent with no surprises. We could not be happier with the results. We would highly recommend them once again. Positives: Communicative, dependable, knowledgeable, caring, they take pride in their workmanship, and they stand behind what they promise. They adhere to codes and standards and homeowner safety is their highest priority. Services: Landscaping and planting, irrigation system, sod and masonry work.

We first hired him back when he was known as "Steve Beam Handyman," and it's been amazing to see him grow and expand his services with the launch of Denver Remodels Inc. Over the years, Steve and his team have tackled everything from small repairs (like anchoring heavy drapery hardware into our finicky plaster walls) to major renovations (like restoring the exterior of our 1908 Craftsman). One of our favorite projects was transforming our mudroom by removing a wall and building a custom breakfast nook. This was a complex project, but Steve's expertise and creativity shone through. He even suggested a design element in the booth walls that perfectly complemented the Craftsman lines of our home - it's those little details that make a huge difference. What we think truly sets Steve apart is his incredible craftsmanship, creativity, and his consultative approach. He takes the time to truly understand your vision and offers expert guidance throughout the design process. I requested quotes for four other companies in our area and decided to go with Juan and his company as they had the most competitive offer for what I wanted installed. During my initial inquiry, I knew that I was going to get great service from the onset of our conversation. I requested a quote using his website and within an hour he contacted me and arranged to accommodate my schedule and came out on a Sunday to do a site survey. By Sunday evening I had an estimate and three days later his team of professionals were installing my new fence. They were extremely professional, polite and completed over 200' of red cedar fencing within two days. Additionally, they did an extremely detailed walkthrough and cleaned up all the debris. I have dogs, this was a very nice touch and spoke volumes to the quality of their work and I didnt have to worry about screws or nails being left in my yard. I plan on having them come out next year to install a wood Pergolas. Seriously, if you're in the Aurora area and looking for a new fence, Juan is your man.

UPDATE: Juan threatened my personhood & property - to illegally trespass on our property & remove…read morethe new fence & gate, which would also result in theft, as he removed our old fence & gate. I've been advised to report him to Denver Police & my attorney. ---- Over-promise & Under-deliver, with a side of machismo - by the owner: Juan. ----- It all started innocently, when I called Kim, the receptionist, for an estimate in late Sep or early Oct. Instead of sending a person out for an estimate, she told me all she needed was photos of my existing fence & gate, and from there, she'd create an estimate. At no point did she ask me for measurements, and - given I'm not in the fencing, gate, construction, painting, or staining industry - I trusted her & her boss, Juan, as well as foreman Raul and Ruin to guide me through the process. This is, after all, why I hired the job out, and hired what I thought were professionals. Instead, on the initial scheduled day, it came to my attention that they only purchased enough materials for a 6-foot fence & 6-foot gate, when it was clear - from the photos - that the fence was higher than the gate (8-feet). Raul & I canceled that job, and we re-scheduled from Mon 10/9 to Tue 10/17. In parallel, I was told by Kim that she/they could easily match the existing stain on my fence/gate, and I need not worry about finding a color. This was also untrue. After the reschedule, Kim asked me to find photos of stains I liked. I started on Home Depot, and they had hundreds, if not thousands, of brands, types of stains (oil-based or water-based), and colors. I had no idea where to start. Given I was hiring professionals - or so I thought - in order to narrow it down, I went to JCQN's Yelp page, and found photos of their past/sample work that I liked. I took photos of the fences & gates I liked - including style & color, and changed my initial fence/gate design from vertical pickets to horizontal, to be more modern. And I decided on a natural redwood stain, and sent photos of both the style I desired, and color. Kim & I resolved the initial measurement misunderstanding, and she was diplomatic, professional, and apologetic, acknowledging she should've explained the material measurements on the estimate, and asked me to measure & verify. Yes! Again, the reason you hire professionals, is for them to guide you with their experience. If I wanted to DIY, I would've gone to Home Depot myself, rather than to Yelp. I did not have the time - or interest - to DIY, which is why I trusted JCQN's multiple reviews, and nearly 5-star status. WRONG! Just like my beau has consistently been telling me - don't trust the reviews. I learned this lesson the hard way, with this company. Tue 10/17 came & went, and Ruin & another gentleman installed a great looking fence & gate - this time, with the correct measurements. Though I wanted to have it stained & sealed on the same day, fearing this exact situation, Kim told me the owner, Juan, said that's not possible, and the wood needs to "sit" for "one week" then it moved to "one and a half weeks," which raised suspicion. (Home Depot's paint/stain & lumber departments told me this was BS last night, as I suspected. If the wood is cedar - as I was told it would be, not fabricated, it does not need to sit before staining.) According to Juan/Kim, I had to wait 1-week, then 1.5-weeks, then only a few days to stain/seal. We scheduled it for Fri 10/20. Fri 10/20 arrived, and Kim canceled, saying Juan was too busy. I pulled rank. Then Juan was magically going to show-up after all. He arrived, with the wrong stain - not the one Kim & I discussed, and I selected. Juan attempted to gaslight & blame me - for his mistake - rather than accepting accountability & owning it, and that story is too long for the character limits of Yelp, unfortunately. Juan blamed me - the female customer. Juan blamed Kim - the female employee, including blaming her age: "she's only 20," vs. his "20-years of experience at age 50". Juan blamed me: "I only want to make you happy," attempting to imply I wouldn't be happy with my initial redwood stain selection, and I should go with the cedar/natural he brought, thinking he could manipulate me, in order to fix his mistake. It was a huge mess. Juan then refused to reschedule the job (something about his personal affairs & if he doesn't repair his son's house by next Tuesday, he'll "go to jail"), and now I'm stuck with a beautiful raw, wood fence & gate - that will mold & become useless the minute it rains or snows. Kim negotiated with Juan to refund me the $1,800 I paid for the fence & gate, but neither one of them can refund me the $1,840 worth of my billable *TIME* (that I can never get back) that I wasted on this nightmare. Luckily, I now have 1 other contractor scheduled for Monday, and 3 on stand-by, should that fall through, given the weather is getting colder, which is not ideal for staining.

Chris is super accommodating, friendly, and detailed when giving estimates and scheduling work. His construction team was also super friendly and efficient. They were done in one afternoon and it looks great. But here's why Chris deserves a 5-star review. We needed some special work done with this segment of fence. We needed it to drop out of the yard and into some paved concrete so that the door to the garage would be accessible. 3/6 companies that we contacted for estimates simply couldn't make that happen. 2/6 could, but for more than 3X the cost that Lucero quoted. He is BY FAR the best-priced fencing company I have come across in Denver. The quality of the fence is also outstanding. Update: House sold yesterday. Buyer specifically mentioned new fence to realtor. Thanks, Chris!

If you're reading this and considering working with Chris Lucero and the Lucero Fence Company:…read moreSTOP! RUN AWAY! Save yourself thousands of dollars and weeks of stress. Everything about our experience with Chris was a disaster, from the materials, to the labor, to his non-existent professionalism. Let's talk about materials first, or rather, the junkyard scraps he tried to pass off as "new wood": -Crossbeams with cracks covering half of the beam -Posts and crossbeams with huge chunks missing -Cedar wood that was already weathered and gray -Toppers (which cost extra!) that didn't even match in shape, texture, or color The crew had no supervision. No attention to detail. Couldn't even set the fence or gate in a straight line. Our gate (another thing we paid extra for!) is shaped like a Z. Not figuratively. Literally. See photos. We tried to raise issues immediately: structural concerns, warped lumber, gaps and uneven boards, and sloppy nails sticking out. Chris made excuses and then conveniently stopped by only when we were working on the second day of the work (after we clearly gave him our availability). When we finally met in person, Chris admitted that many parts of the job weren't up to his standards, and that our satisfaction was important to him. Thank god we recorded the whole conversation because he is a LIAR. (CO is a one-party consent state!) During this convo, Chris agreed to replace multiple boards and beams, replace the entire gate, and personally supervise the re-work. But once we followed up with a list of materials to replace, Chris completely flipped. Suddenly, we were being "unreasonable," and he demanded full payment. Apparently, it's fine for him to use trash materials and lie to your face but not okay for you to hold him accountable for what he already agreed to fix. Now you may be wondering why we hired him in the first place? Our family had worked with him two years ago, and the experience was good. We assumed we'd get the same experience this time. That was our mistake. After going back and reading his reviews now, we have realized our nightmare wasn't unique. It's Chris Lucero's pattern. So here's my advice: Do. Not. Hire. Him. Don't fall for his polished sales pitch. Don't pick the cheapest quote. Don't be fooled by Chris' pretend concern or fake professionalism. We're now stuck with a misaligned gate and unstable fence, all thanks to someone who should not be in business at all. Chris Lucero is not a professional contractor. He's a scammer with a truck and a nail gun.
