Him attempting to draw clouds
Kathleen M.

I know I had a good review here waaayyy back before but I have TOTALLY changed my mind about it because this is one of the worst experiences I've had ever. Usually I get the urge to get acrylic nails every now and then and I'm not super picky about salons but after this I'll really be mindful about who I'm going to. The first part of my walk in was good but it went down hill from there. I requested the owner, Lam, because last time he did my nails I loved it. When I requested a set from a screenshot I had he said no problem. He gets to doing my nails. First questionable thing I saw was that he didn't push back my cuticles. I ignored it. We fast forward to shape. I kindly asked if my nails can be more narrow. He said yes but didn't file them down. Then we fast forward to the design. When he painted the clouds he put them immediately in the UV light to cure. He didn't let me look to see if I liked it. After he cured I didn't like it because it's too big. Mind you this is gel so it couldn't come off unless you soaked or shaved it off. This went back and forth about 3 times. I didn't want to waste neither of each other's time. I told him politely "it's okay, can I just get top coat?" He insisted on painting the clouds again but I declined. After that he rushed to shave down the nails with the design and rushed harder to put on top coat. While my nails were curing he was slamming all of his tools back in their drawer obviously displaying frustration. I felt bad because I understand working in the service industry. He told me my total with the worst attitude and tone. I went home and saw there were specks of dust and particles in my acrylics and I just did the design myself and added my own glitter to cover it up. Now it's 8 days later. I snagged my finger and it hurts really badly. It's the finger that was shaved many times because I didn't like his gel design. There's no apex or support that's why it hurts so much and on top of that all my nails are lifting. Sorry if this is long. But I'd rather you SAVE YOUR COINS!!!

I love that I'm the number one priority when I walk through the door ... but I would love for my massage on my manicures today be longer

Terrible job.

Terrible experience. Walked in for an overlay with color powder and the lady did a terrible job. She knew she messed up, but kept going. My nails were a nice length but she just kept filing down. I will never go back.

My friend recommended this place to me. She said to ask for the guy, so I did and I'm so glad. He was very detailed and made sure my nails looked perfect. This is probably one of the best nail jobs I have ever had.

I've been there twice once for shellac (beautiful and lasted 2 weeks and started chipping on the third) And the second for brows and let me tell you, whoever is there that does brows all day, she makes your brows look beautiful and sooooo clean and doesn't ruin your shape!!!! Just went today again for the third time and Tracey did a long full set on me so beautiful and she took her time and did a very natural long look

This was the worst service I have ever experienced. As a salon owner myself, I would never allow a…read moreclient to pay for a service they were unhappy with. On Saturday, February 28th at 6:49pm, I arrived for a nail service. Your sign clearly states closing time is 7:30pm, yet the front desk informed me they were closed. It immediately felt like I was being turned away. Only after I mentioned that I had just finished working at my own salon did they reconsider and decide to service me. That alone showed a lack of care for gaining or keeping loyal clients. They did a beautiful job on my nails that day. However, when I returned on March 2nd for a basic pedicure (during a short break between my clients before traveling), the experience was completely unacceptable. Before starting, I clearly asked if they had enough time to properly perform the service. I even offered to only do a color change if needed. They assured me they had time to complete a full basic pedicure. What I received was not a proper basic pedicure: * No soap, salt, or any soaking solution was added to the foot bath (as is standard practice). * The water was being filled without a plastic liner until another technician corrected her -- a clear sanitation concern. * My feet were barely soaked before she removed them. * Lotion was applied quickly and wiped off just as fast. * My old gel polish was removed and my feet were scraped while dry. * My cuticles were cut aggressively. * My nails were cut unevenly, even after I requested a square shape. * The polish color did not match what I chose. * Polish was left on my cuticles. * One nail was visibly longer than the others. When I calmly expressed that I was unhappy, I was told the unevenness was due to my skin being "thicker" on one side, which is not a valid explanation. Instead of correcting the service properly, they removed only $5 for gel removal and still charged me approximately $48 for a full pedicure -- despite not providing a proper one. I felt rushed, dismissed, and forced to pay for a service that did not meet basic salon standards. When I asked to speak to the owner or someone above the staff present, I was told I would receive a call -- which never happened. As a business owner, I understand the importance of client loyalty and satisfaction. This experience felt more focused on collecting payment than providing quality service. That is not how long-term relationships are built. I do not recommend this salon. Clients deserve to feel valued, respected, and properly serviced -- not rushed out after payment

The sofas are in the same room as service area, so vibe is a bit interesting. Small mom & pop nails salon. Called ahead and asked if they had availability for 3 pedicures- asked specifically if there would be a wait - he said "No, no wait." We arrived ten minutes later, led to the back, got seated, had us soak our feet... and made to wait. They only had 3 technicians in the whole salon, and all 3 were already working on other customers. After 5-10 minutes, 2 techs got done with their clients and started on two of us. Our third person was left waiting for at least 20-25 minutes before a tech finally started working on her. We did not appreciate them saying they was no wait, knowing full well they didn't have techs available to service 3 pedis. Giving them 4 stars because they are small family shop and seemed like they're trying their best. They were not loud or pushy. They did not have a lot of colors to choose from, did not offer drinks, and don't have a ton of technicians.

They had a new lady who cut me extensively during my pedicure. You ever get a nail tech who is new or doesn't know what they are doing? They move differently during the service. Usually slower, choppy cuticle cutting style, etc. This was yesterday. Cuticles are super sore today. Even my usual manicure tech cut me yesterday. I went in around 4:30pm and no one was there. I got into the chair instantly. It's not the most up to date spot but doable. I had experienced okay service before and needed something close by and quick. I won't make that mistake again. Their door says they take visa and other credit cards. The tech kept pushing me to use my debit card. I use my credit cards for everything to get points. I understand why they push debit and cash but it's just off putting. Also the techs are literally hovering over you while you check out to see what amount for the tip you will leave. Makes things super uncomfortable. This will be the last time I'll go back. They are empty for a reason. Avoid. You deserve better.

Popular is located in a great shopping center at an easy to get to location. Lots of parking available! When you enter, there are several attendants ready to assist with your service or you can enter your phone number in the small screen on the counter and input your requested services there. We were quickly taken to our chairs to start our pedicures and offered a menu. At Popular, cocktails are included (one of the reasons it's my friends favorite). Warning - the pink panther is strong and sweet! The technician giving my pedicure was kind and attentive to me throughout my process. I decided on both colors for my mani and pedi; I noticed for the color I chose for my pedicure that they gave me a color that was very similar but not the one I picked; it was a different number. I asked about it, but if I hadn't asked, they weren't going to tell me. For my manicure, the gentleman wasn't very friendly. He got polish under my fingers and cleaned them with a nail file once I showed him, but didn't acknowledge it. I also wasn't offered a cushion for my manicure, so spent the duration with my hands pulled to my right side on the arm rest, which made my neck hurt by the end. I didn't think anything of it until noticed everyone around me with one except me; not a big deal if I didn't hurt my neck, but it did. As part of the package we purchased, it came with an 8 minute leg massage for the pedicure and 5 minute neck massage for the manicure. The technicians asked me if I wanted the massage together or separate, which confused me. I thought they meant both at the same time. I told them together, which ended up meaning I received a 13 minute leg massage and no neck massage. I should have asked more, but felt this was misleading. I would definitely give Popular another chance, but this particular visit was not 5 stars for me.

Atmosphere was less than par from what I was expecting from viewing there website. In my opinion I had a creepy vibe the whole time I was in the salon. Cost was more than I was expecting and more than what I normally pay. Nails wasn't done to what I had requested, so that was disappointing. Also, in 2 of my nails there's a bit of a dip from over sanding them down and is noticable. I went back yesterday since I still had money left on my gift card for a pedicure and again, I was charged more than I was expecting. Polish on my toe nails are glossy at all, since the color I chose was almost empty and clear coat was half polished on my nails. Spa chair didn't work for massage and had a pillow in it for back support from the chair being worn out. If I would have known I would be charged an additional $20 for pedi I wouldn't have tipped nail tech $20 cash. Me personally don't recommend this salon for any type of nail service.
