We've been coming here for the past 3 years, even bringing people over. But, we came in today and the place we once loved feels it's losing the care it used to transmit. The menu's were so dirty we barely wanted to touch them, the utensils and the napkins were also in very dirty conditions. The glasses that come with the water smelled really bad. We have always ordered the same things because we loved them, today my boyfriend's turkey and avocado sandwich barely had any ingredients compared to how they used to be, and yet I payed the same amount. This place is losing quality, which is the thing that allows regular costumers to keep coming back. Today we have decided to not come back in a while because the loss of quality in service and in food is so evident. Please look into this, we loved this place. Really enjoyed the service and atmosphere at this local gem. Shared some mini empanadas and a lovely chicken curry salad with a glass of rosé for lunch, rounded off with a nice cappuccino. When in to by a Cachapa, that originally is 8.00, and for them to add steak and they charged me 25.00 at the register... This was insane, at 8.00 I could have had 3 of them just the way they come and instead I was charged 17 .00 for a few pieces of steak ... Despite multiple follow-ups and reminders, they have not paid for the completed service. I gave them several opportunities to resolve the issue directly, but they have not responded. We waited a very long time just to receive anything, and somehow they decided to send out our dessert before any of the main food. The food is very fresh but I would not recommend coming here if you are in a rush because they do take a while to come out with your food. This is something that is a written warning on the menu. We came here first a quick bite to eat. Service was quick. We got a free appetizer which was this fried fish which was actually delicious! I ordered the beef sliders and the first bite I took it was legitimately raw. Like still ground beef. It wasn't pink, it was bright red hadn't been cooked. I spit it out and brought it right to the chef who could oversee our table. He apologized and immediately made me new sliders which were cooked much better and tasted good. This was our first visit to this place as We were visiting from Denver. We had the burgers, pork sandwich, tacos and salad. The portions were incredible. The food is very flavorful, savory and amazing! We were greeted quickly and waited on right away. The environment was lively, clean and full of life. So much fun!! Have you ever felt like just taking a drive to some place that maybe you could've visited at some point in your 4 decades on this earth, but just never have? Well, I've been in that mood a lot as of late - travelling to places just a few hours away from my home town that I can't explain why I've never set foot there before. Thus, just last week, I wanted to (finally) wander on over to Key Biscayne and see this little jewel in the Atlantic for myself. After a few hours in the car, my brother and I were ready to chow. Thanks to Yelp, we found this place which was literally just a few hundred feet from where we had parked. Artisan Kitchen & Bar is situated on the corner of a plaza of small shops on the beautiful main road just north of the State Park on the Key. Walking in, this place had a really cool vibe about it. First of all, it was packed with all kinds of people having a great time feasting on a variety of dishes. Some were seated on the comfy couches in the front surrounded by hi top tables near the windows. The open kitchen, with a very wide bar for more seating runs parallel to regular tables that finish the seating area. The noise is a little louder than most places, but it wasn't overwhelming enough to become distracting. It felt like I was in a happening place that I knew would be a great experience. We were greeted by one of the many servers with menus and welcomed to sit wherever we wanted, so we bellied up the bar since there were plenty of spots for us. Despite the place being very busy, we were served quickly. There are plenty of options on the menu for discriminating palettes and diets, from sandwiches, salads and much more. Specials are brightly displayed on their daily chalkboard visible from any seat in the house as well. I had their chicken sandwich that I requested without the bread. The server brought it out with all the accoutrements to make it a very filling and refreshing meal. The chipotle mayo was full of flavor and had a nice kick to it to wake up the senses. Paired with their pomegranate iced tea (no free refills, though), I was very happy because the food was delicious and fresh. The bro had their ham and cheese sandwich which was very similar to a Cuban on the long thin bread, which he said was fantastic and looked good to me. Oh, let me not forget the best thing we shared - house made BACON FRIES. Oh yeah, they have several kinds of their fresh, crispy and very thin fries that you can get plain or topped with things like, um, bacon. That's all I can remember because that's all I wanted. They serve you a heaping helping in a small pail steaming hot and loaded with fresh bacon pieces. Man, I'd drive the two hours again just to have those with one of their many craft beers on tap. Highly recommended! Overall, Artisan was an awesome choice for a quick and delicious lunch with reasonable prices in a very hip place on a really beautiful island. I visited the Artisan Kitchen on a Saturday, which can or cannot be a mistake. Very busy and there was a 20-30min wait for a table. I decided to sit at the bar and get on with it. I ordered the Bacon, Fried Egg, Avocado, Arugula Burger (not sure the name) and it was dynamite! Everything here prepared fresh and with their open kitchen style, you see them make everything from scratch. Paired well with a Stone Delicious IPA. The vibe here was swallowed up by the overworked staff and seemed they were short a few workers the day I came in. The meal was worth the money, even at $20 for a lunch. With plenty of "Latin American" fusion items on the menu, I will be back in the near future. Next time, during the week! read more

Waffles were really good, berries nice and fresh but the chocolate wasn't melted, had to wait on the waiter to go heat it up. Ordered iced tea before the waffles, had to ask for it again, finally came when I was almost finished the waffles. If you as the owner read this, the waffles were great Syrup would have been nice, a bit more chocolate and $6 for an iced tea is ridiculous . Adding an 18% tip but not telling your customer before swiping the card is bs. The waiter had a hand held card reader, just told me the total, I had to ask if they added a tip because he didn't hand me an itemized bill first. read more

Stopped in during a walk and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice trendy place and oh so busy... We sat at the counter and we had some great service and super food. The curry chicken salad was my choice and it was made with light mayo and a good dose of curry but more for the flavor. The apple was a nice refreshing addition, and the rainins were a nice sweetener. The bed of frisee and greens were a welcome refresher also. The mango salad was very fresh and was accompanied by a healthy dose of mango on a bed of delightful greens. The place was accommodating for us, and despite not being breakfast menu time, they cooked a very nice omelette - really nicely made with nice trimmings. I recommend this place! read more

I have never written a negative review about any restaurant, but in this case I feel I must. We arrived at the artisans kitchen bar ask for table or if we can sit at the bar to eat breakfast. After being told yes, we took our seats and the guy behind the bar said the bar is closed and the original guy said that he said we could sit there so we did. After about a minute a short guy runs out and yells at us to move. I said that the other 2 said it was ok to sit at bar he yelled again "no". Extremely rude we felt as if we were getting kicked out. So we left. I understand being busy, but there is never a reason to be rude to a customer for no reason...:. We were yelled in front of other tables and embarrassed. I am disappointed by this restaurant: Customer be warned We ended up eating at the La Boulanger which the service is awesome. read more

Food is great....but service is awful. I got the wrong food and then was chastized about not getting a credit for it for not returning it. The manager said he knew it was wrong, but did not say anything to me. He waited for me to notice. SO WRONG!!!! I told him its not what i ordered - he said i needed to return it before i but into it (if you know an arep, you cant see it from outide and know stuffing is wrong. Good place, but Key Biscayne (and Miami) is about service !! Its not a fast food. $15 for an arepa, make sure its right or dont hassle me if i you know its wrong. Decent brunch spot. The environment was comfortable with multiple seating arrangements and family friendly fly. The service was prompt, make sure to get there before the brunch crowd around 11. The menu had plenty of options to choose from, with an Argentinian twist including arepas and skirt steak. The only reason we did not give this place 5 stars is we were not super impressed with our food. We got the eggs Benedict arepa which was had a unique sauce but the eggs could have been a little more done and there was only a sliver of avo. The veggie omelet (added avo and bacon) was standard and very poor presentation. Portions could have been a little bigger for the price. Would try the meat specialists next time. read more

Artisan has the best Venezuelan arepas in Miami, unfortunately they only make them for late breakfast or lunch, and sometimes they run out. You can easily eat two arepas every time you order, that's how good they are. The best thing about artisan is that everything is made from scratch, and you can tell. Other favorites from my wife and I are the picanha platter and the cachapa (sweet corn arepa) with cheese and cream are delicious. Also, If you want a good Brunch, is also a good place to go to.
